I'm leaving a review since this incident wasn't taken seriously in the slightest by the host of the market here, and I am worried about a repeat incident that may take someone's life, or even a child who may be in attendance. I was a vendor at the Obscure Market the brewery hosts, and in August of 2025 my drink was drugged.
The bar staff never spoke a word to me after the incident, I didn't have any input on the incident report, and didn't even get to see it. I had called in November because it was said not just to my face, but other texts to vendors by the market host, that my drink wasn't tampered with, when I am missing nine hours, and something was very wrong not even thirty minutes into my drink.
The bar came off as trying to avoid my phone call in November of 2025 to try to just be sure someone was made aware my drink was drugged and after falling unresponsive in the bathroom, I came to in the ICU. The host of the market had already been beyond dismissive to me, and has told everyone today that it simply did not happen. The bar GM told me that she was aware of what went on, but I really just am not so sure after all that has transpired and the way everyone has acted. This wasn't a market or bar-ruining situation. Unfortunately, Houston is full of horrible people. But your patron and the vendors of your markets deserve to know what happened in March so that everyone can keep a better eye on for one another. Multiple vendors told me it was obvious something was very wrong, and that the host of the market had stopped them from intervening, passing me off as a drunk and telling everyone how "embarassing" I am.
Please be aware of the high rate of drink spikes in the area, and when you're hosting a market with marginalized vendors, people can just be awful. If someone is swaying, slurring, stumbling, and acting far more different than usual after a single tip, please encourage your bar tenders and the markets to check in on vendors and guests, or even invest in drink covers.
People want to come for a good time, not to nearly die and the only thing anyone care about is avoiding a law suit...
