Phenomenal food from start to finish. I truly cannot say enough about the scallops dinner. Perfectly cooked, beautifully presented, and clearly made with care using high quality ingredients. Every dish I have tried here has been consistently excellent, and there honestly has not been a single item I would hesitate to recommend. My personal standouts would have to be the scallops and the French onion soup. The server is always prompt, attentive, and genuinely responsive without ever feeling rushed. That level of professionalism really enhances the overall experience. The Spinnerstown Hotel Restaurant and Tap Room itself adds to the appeal. The historic setting gives the space a warm, authentic character, whether you are sitting in the rustic taproom, the more formal dining room, or enjoying the outdoor seating. It feels both cozy and refined at the same time, making it just as suitable for a casual meal as it is for a special night out.

Beautiful atmosphere, rich in history. Everyone in their party enjoyed their meal. I had a feeling if we were 100% happy they would correct it. It’s expensive for us but you get what you pay for. The food is quality. Hands down this is the best meal I’ve had all year. I would request to come here for birthdays and anniversaries. I highly recommend this place. We lucked out with seating on a Tuesday evening but I would recommend making reservations. There is a quieter area of the restaurant with booths for those of us who struggle to hear. I don’t think it’s very wheelchair friendly though as it is an older building.

We had a memorable, cozy, delicious meal with family to celebrate a birthday on a weeknight. We were seated in the back room next to a roaring fireplace with a little bit of hold over decoration from the Christmas holiday. This place is a little gem, you just try it. Equally good for a casual meal as well as a special evening out. The food was varied, tasty, fresh, and had generous portions. Everything we ordered pleased! We sampled the winter butternut squash and pumpkin seed salad, tuna tartare bowl, whipped goat cheese with dippers, Japanese fried chicken sandwich, lamb burger, lump crabcakes, dayboat scallops, linguine with gigantic shrimp and the tortellini in a blush sauce. All dishes were of excellent quality and had a touch of creativity! We brought a small cake to celebrate. They charge a small cake cutting fee per person, even though we cut it ourselves at the table, and gratuity was audited, added automatically. Service was kind and attentive. Definitely check this place out.

I've been living the in Northeast Pa region for a long time and I don't know how I have never made it here. Food quality is fantastic, drink menu is extensive with mocktails and flexiblity to make you pretty much anything, service is good as well. My group got a literally the gambit of different items and there was not one thing that didn't like which is really saying something. Again they aren't doing anything crazy unique but what they are doing they are doing very well and executed to perfection.

LOVE this place. Husband and I tried it a few months ago and now go back as often as possible. Love the atmosphere in the tap room area, dark and pub-like. The service has been top notch every time. All servers have been super friendly and accommodating and just really helpful and fun. The food is amazing! LOVE LOVE LOVE IT. For our first trip my husband had the steak frites and I had the crab cakes. It was all so delicious! His steak was cooked to perfection, my crab cakes were so tasty, served with really lovely buttery mashed potatoes and a corn salad and remoulade. My martinis are nice and cold and filled to the brim. SO happy to have discovered this place!

This restaurant is such a little gem! Beautifully decorated for the holiday season! Food and service is outstanding! Definitely try the homemade chips with sweet onion dipping sauce for an appetizer. They will not disappoint! Very unique cocktail menu. Roasted chicken was probably the best I have ever had. Family members raved about the burgers and steak. We'll be returning soon!

Great food. Great atmosphere. The staff is always friendly and knowledgable. Definitely one of our go-to spots in the area. The steak was flavorful and perfectly cooked (one was medium, one was midrare and they were both perfect). The fries were done exactly the way they should be - crispy all the way through. And I didn't even have to ask for them well done.

We had a wonderful dinner at Spinnerstown on Friday, September 26th. Our server Thomas was very friendly and helpful in providing insight and guidance for choice for beverages and dinner. Looking forward to our next experience with Spinnerstown Hotel.

I'm quite surprised to see this restaurant at 3.6 stars as of July 2025. I'm not sure if they're under new management or got a new chef, but Spinnerstown is worthy of a five star from me! I started with the scallops which were perfectly seared and cooked over a thoughtful bed of cucumbers and wasabi and sushi rice. It was an excellent appetizer and I might get the full entrée next time. The 12 ounce New York was one of the best steaks I've had in a year and I've had my share of steaks in the last year. Perfect medium, excellent sear, very good sourcing of product, and not drenched in butter like the posers do- I was a happy carnivore. The truffle fries were excellent, and the broccolini was perfectly al dente and seasoned. Emily, my server, was phenomenal. She was never up in my grill, but always there when I needed her. She made recommendations with some taste tests that were perfect for me. This quaint restaurant in a tiny town of Spinnerstown is an excellent compliment to the area and anyone near it should feel grateful to have it close... for me I'll likely make the drive again.

This has been the third time that I have gone to the Spinnerstown Hotel. The service and food have been great each time. We all shared the whipped goat cheese dip and the potato wedges for appetizers. For meals we got the meatloaf and the salmon. Both were good. Portion sizes could be a little bigger, but the quality is good. We will be back. Recommend this place.

We had an excellent dinner here tonight. Definitely make a reservation on the weekend. This place filled up. People were even sitting outside and although it's covered with heaters, I wouldn't have wanted to sit out there. My dad and I ordered the apple pie mule. It was fantastic. We both loved it. I would get it again. I decided to try the hot and sour chicken and vegetable soup. It was delicious. My only complaint is that I thought the amount was a little skimpy. My friend had the loaded baked potato soup and she loved it. They gave us each a warm roll and butter to go with our meals. I appreciated that with my soup. It was very good. For dinner, I got the seared tuna bowl. This thing was huge and it was fantastic. I loved it. Everything in it was delicious. I would order this again and again. My dad had the salmon entree and he loved his as well. My friend ordered the salad with steak and she said he's was really good too. The steak was cooked as ordered. Our meals were so good, we couldn't resist getting dessert. We tried the bourbon pecan pie and the peanut butter pie. Both were very good. Our server, Marlena, was excellent. Service was on point. Do come here and visit this wonderful restaurant!

This was our second try for a great dining experience but another fail. The front desk is very unorganized. Even with a specific reservation they unable to give us what we as for and had to wait a while. Server was nice but she was over booked. My wife's selection of scallops was very good but my cod special was not. Over cooked and mushy on top of mashed potatoes. Who puts fish on mashed potatoes? And my broccoli was very stringy and tough. We will not be back. There are too many fine dining restaurants in the area.

Food is always good, atmosphere is great. They have a very extensive beer and cocktail menu, and never have trouble finding something that's great. You can literally go here for just about any occasion from something to celebrate or just a night out to dinner. The service has been excellent and attentive each time we have gone. The only bad thing I would have to say and it's very occasional, is getting drinks from the bar can be a little slow. Other than that we consider this the consistent go to when we are looking to go out and know we are going to enjoy time as a couple or with friends.

this is a nice place to go to; they have a really nice selection of beer. The bartender is very friendly; I think her name was Aubrey & the manager was nice, too. I'd say it's generally an extremely nice spot for a date-night, business meeting, drinks with the guys, whatever.

One of the best dining spots in the Quakertown area! The menu has options for everyone, the kitchen is extremely accommodating of modifications, and there are food/drink specials by the season and by the day. The outdoor patio is lovely on warmer days. Easy to grab a drink at the bar before a table reservation. The Spinnerstown is a go-to!

I came here when word got out they had Old Forrester Birthday Bourbon. I took a trip down here and I was pleasantly surprised. Their whiskey and bourbon list is quite extraordinary considering how small this place is. I ordered the Steak and Frites which is a 12oz NY Strip and garlic parmesan frites. The fat strip was a bit bigger than usual but cooked perfectly otherwise. Creme Brulee was great too. The bar manager was super friendly and a great guy to talk to.

2 couples dined here tonight for my husband's birthday and we were pleasantly surprised. This was our first time back since before the pandemic and it was so much better than we remembered. Starting with the cocktails... The cocktail menu is quite interesting and extensive. I selected the most interesting drink...it was like a very light and refreshing Bloody Mary martini. It was rimmed with a delicious combination of salt, basil, spices...exactly what a Bloody Mary should be rimmed with. Perfect. Our friend had a very interesting strawberry rhubarb Negroni. I know that sounds strange, but trust me it was delicious. Irish onion soup, roasted tomato bisque and Caesar salad were our starters. All very good versions of them. Entrées were Steak Frittes, which was a perfectly cooked medium rare strip steak and excellent French fries crispy and well salted. Asian rare Ahi tuna bowl was delicious. My husband's creamy shrimp carbonara pasta was very tasty, as was my friend's chicken entrée. Desserts were shared. The house specialty peaches and cream pie and the peanut butter pie were decadent. I've never seen a restaurant have as many coffee offerings as this one, both hot and cold ranging from cold brews to lattes and espresso, cappuccino and French press. I had a cold brew latte which was better than any fancy coffee shop. My friend had a delicious cappuccino. Overall it was a wonderful experience. We will definitely return!

I hadn't been in to the spinnerstown hotel for quite awhile, but literally 90 minutes ago I decided to order some take out after browsing the menu online. I wanted a high quality cheat meal on my rest day from the gym. Needless to say, I was beyond impressed with the chicken croissant sandwich and sweet potato fries I ordered. You simply cannot beat this level of high quality food. This sandwich is so far removed from the junk you can get at popular fast food joints that literally subtract years from your life. This chicken sandwich even beats one of my go to cheat spots in Chick-Fil-A. I can't wait to order the rest of the menu. Also it is worth noting, the service was just fine. The girls at the front desk were pleasant and amiable. I will be at this place much more often in the future.

We were a part of six. Only one was satin with their entree. The two that had crab cakes thought they were almost tasteless, the hamburger was undercook, the Japanese chicken sandwich was too salty and the chicken wings were not crispy. We did enjoy the Irish onion soup and Crème brûlée. The service was only adequate and unfortunately the atmosphere was interrupted by the loud traffic because we were seated on the deck.

We went over for lunch on a Tuesday. They opened at 2pm. We got there about 2:15. We were seated immediately, given menus (more like library books ), waters and specials. I got the Steak House Chop Salad and it was perfect. The dressing was sweet. My only complaint, there was too much greens. Other than that, it was delicious. My husband ordered cheese steaks and French fries, nothing special about it.

We had a great experience all around except for one thing. Our bar drinks (3 martinis) took about a half hour or maybe a bit more. Our waiter, Jarrod, checked back regularly w apologies, and we appreciated it. And when we got the check they had deducted the drinks. Jarrod said someone broke glass in ice bin and of course they have to empty whole thing. Jarrod and Mgt did everything they could to make it right. But, we still sat there for at least a half hour waiting for our drinks. Getting past that...service and food was excellent. I had the short ribs and my husband had steak. My daughter had salad and I gave her some of short ribs. The ambiance was lovely. Overall everything was lovely except waiting half hour for drink. But stuff does happen, and I would definitely try it again.

Ten years ago my Husband and I frequented Spinnerstown for dinner. We brought Family and Friends there also. In and out of COVID years we almost forgot about this place. Recently we invited a dear Neighbor to join us. The ambiance is not as warm and inviting as we remembered it. Acoustics were harrowingly NOISY. Could not engage in ANY conversation. As with many of our favorite restaurants the menu has changed dramatically, but NOT for the better. My Husband ordered the acclaimed Pulled Pork Waffle. He shared or left most of it. He loves Pulled Pork but combined with way too much SUGAR and SYRUP and CINNAMON and BLACKBERRIES he literally began to feel sick! A thick Sweet Waffle smothered in syrup and sugar and topped with Pulled Pork and Blackberries...GROSS!!! Service was Pleasant but very slow. I love the Peach Pie dessert and brought some home. I was glad to see it was still being served. I have resigned myself to thinking that all the really talented Chefs have LEFT the area during COVID, and BLAND, at higher prices, is the new dining state of affairs!!!

Always good,great beer selection, nice atmosphere . Has gotten a bit fancier since I have been going for over 20 years, but really nice for a special occasion, Nice outdoor setting also!! Would recommend!!

Food was fantastic, Emily was a new server, she was great. All of my friends were impressed with food, drinks and how lovely the restaurant was. Thanks for a fun night in Quakertown.

Food was good, I'll go back. Bar tenders need to be a little more attentive to people needing drinks. To much talking with a full bar of people. Very nice though and it was great atmosphere. Good place for dinner

We had a delicious dinner at the Spinnerstown Hotel last night. Our waitress, Emily, was very friendly and attentive and our food was absolutely delicious. The restaurant is beautiful. This is not an inexpensive place, but definitely worth it for a special occasion or really nice dinner out. We look forward to coming back!!

We have eaten here quite a few times and have celebrated a number of family celebrations here. Staff and owners are very friendly and accommodating. Food is very good along with extensive drink menu. They have banquet rooms available for parties. Crab cakes are a favorite of ours

We stopped by at 4:30 for an early dinner. When we walked in I asked the hostess if they had room for 2 and she responded of course. She then looked on her little electronic pad to see where to have us sit. With this she then starting asking the waitress which table to seat us at. We'll the lovely waitress kept saying no with her last response bring "I'm not doing that" So the hostess who has already told us there are tables availsble turns to us and says "I can seat you at 6. 1-1/2 hours no thank you.....goodbye Spinnerstown!

Overpriced, mediocre food. The service was terrible when we went. We even gave it two tries, but still awful!

food was really good however not very respectful and the service is very bad if you're LGBT right now. I found that we had no service. We got one water refill. We were almost snubbed at the restaurant. The waitress said that she was pregnant at the end for the excuse of bad service to try to get a better tip.

I went here with two friends tonight and it was the first visit for us all. Our server Megan was extremely friendly. We thought it was a cute place and loved the food. We're making plans to return.

My first time at the bar was NOT a pleasant experience, it was a memorable one though. Went to have a couple of drinks and this is what transpired. A Miller lite beer, 2oz Oban 14 & another 1oz Oban 14 (which was left in the bottle). Jokingly I asked the bartender who btw was very young about the drink being free since it was the last pour from the bottle. So, she said I will ask and that she was curious as well. She went spoke to a woman at the end of the bar and comes to tell me they will discount the drink. The breakdown of the bill was $5 beer + $54 scotch - $14 discount. Their menu said Oban was $27 per 2oz pour. I might not be an economist but 2oz + 1oz does NOT total to $54 & then showing me a discount of $14. She charged me $54 for 2 pours which were a total of only 3oz & NOT even the full 4oz. When I questioned her about the bill she said she gave me 2 drinks & then discounted the one. 2 full drinks would be 2 pours of 2oz each. The bill was $45 so there was no discount. If you are charging $27 for 2oz that means 1oz would be $13.50. So not only did she NOT give me a discount but technically she overcharged. I wasn't going to sit there and discuss the situation any further with the young lady so I paid my bill and left. I even tipped her 15%. Needless to say I won't be going back there again. Whoever that woman was that the bartender spoke to should NOT be around to give advice on how to do business.

Small place with a reasonable but varied menu, good food and a very nice staff. I had the winter salad and it was a good portion size with fresh flavor and toppings. Little pricier food options but fitting for the nicer atmosphere they offered.

Away for the weekend and having a late dinner with my love. The food was delicious and our server Megan, what an asset to this establishment. She was so accommodating and knowledgeable of her menus and made suggestions and explained each dish we questioned. Definitely will come back! For my husband to make a comment on the place, service and food, it's definitely good!

A frequent lunch spot for us. Cold crisp tap beers top off the best hot wings around. Large and meaty all the time. Burgers are all above average , John's chicken cheese steak sandwich is tasty are all the salads especially the chopped sirloin salad. Of particular interest and taste is the creamy goat cheese appetizer with cherry preserve and crisp crotons of French bread. Staff is always friendly and attentive. Bar area is cozy and our desired location.

After reading several reviews we finally decided to come here for dinner after passing by it for the last 5 years. We made reservations using open table for 7:30. We arrived early and were seated after a very brief wait. We took a little bit to decide on our order because everything sounded delicious. We ordered our drinks and they arrived promptly... ... and this is where things went down hill. We ordered the spinny wedges to share. Our entrées were the braised ribs with mashed potato & sautéed spinach and the chicken and brown butter gnocchi. One person in our party ordered 2 "add-on's", grilled shrimp and sea scallops with a side of fries as their meal. And for the 10 y/o, a kids chicken tenders with fries was selected. Our salads did come in a reasonable time for a Friday night, but they were slow to come out. The kids meal arrived some time after the salads (though we didn't request it be served separately). Then we waited... and waited... and waited for our spinny wedges and our meals. An hour after being seated we still didn't have our meal. Our server stopped by to ask if we had received our spinny wedges and when we told her we hadn't, she said she didn't think so and she was sorry. She said she would have them out to us soon and would take them off the check. I asked if the meals would be out soon to which she replied that they should be on their way out. We told her to skip the spinny wedges and just bring us our meals. She said she would bring them anyway and that we could bring them home. We said that we didn't really want them to-go and that they sould just skip them all together. Several minutes later the manager came with, you guessed it, a to-go bag with spinny wedges and let us know she took them off the check. She told us dessert was complementary as well as our meals FINALLY arrived. The gnocchi was hot and the chicken in it was flavorful but the gnocchi itself was comprised of soft blobs of deep fried mashed potato. The individual in our group that ordered it enjoys mashed potatoes, pasta, and gnocchi but found this preparation off putting leaving most of it uneaten. The shrimp and scallops were hot and well prepared but nothing special. The braised ribs looked fantastic but ended up being dry and cold. Because we had been there so long (and they were cleaning up the dining room as we ate) we chose to take our deserts with us, hopeful for a better experience. The strawberry crisp was so unappealing I couldn't eat it. Ok, I admit, by this point I was jaded from the disappointing meal, but I just couldn't get past the pitiful appearance. After all was said and done, with two glasses of wine, a soda, and two Shirley Temples the check was $120. If everything had gone smoothly and all the food served hot and in a reasonable time I would have been okay with it. For the quality of service and food we received, it wasn't worth it. Oh, and we left the to-go bag of spinny wedges on the table. We said we didn't want them, did they think we were kidding?

Food was very good and service was prompt. Prices were a bit high otherwise I would have given 5 stars!

Just hosted my daughters wedding shower and we could not be any happier how it turned out. Food was excellent... service was excellent and location and decor was excellent. Perfect venue for a special occasion.

Five Stars Even With The Wait! Great food and great people make this place. In the area for a lacrosse tournament. The hotel said it was a good spot and gave us a 15% off coupon, so why not. Nice old building in a country town. Hostess was great and told us about 20 minutes for a table. Went to the bar and had drink while we waited. The place was about half full so it was obvious the 20 minutes was because they were short staffed. We were finally seated and everything was awesome. The waitress was spot on with her recommendations. The "Irish Onion" was literally the best French Onion Soup I have ever had. No doubt it took a long time for each part of our meal to make it to the table, especially when you look around and see so many empty tables. That being said, if time is not of the essence this place is absolutely worth the wait. Have a few beers and enjoy!

It was a nice Saturday night out on the patio. The server we had was polite and quick with bringing out our drinks and food. I'm giving only 3 Star due to the fact that the food is overpriced for what you are getting. Although you can tell they're trying to produce elegant, higher-end food, the execution is lacking. For example, the pork tacos that were on special could have been out of this world, but the pork wasn't tenderized, making it an overly chewy dish. Overall, I appreciate the effort, but more time needs to be spent on the details.

My husband and I went with another couple last minute the other night and it was the best experience we have had at a restaurant in a long time. The service was amazing, drinks were excellent and the food was five stars The atmosphere was very relaxing. I would highly recommend and we will be back soon!

Thoroughly enjoyed the restaurant. Was here for a business dinner and it was a good success. One member of our party had been there earlier in the week solo and raved about the General Sponce Crispy Cauliflower dish. Not a vegetarian, but we shared one as a sampler and I could eat this as a whole meal. The steak sandwich, the pan roasted chicken and the salmon were all well prepared. The restaurant is a little bit higher end that I was expecting, but absolutely on the keeper list the next time I'm in area.

We recently moved to the area and have tried a few places and Spinnertown has become our go to favorite. The food is delicious, service is great and the atmosphere is . Would 100% recommend this place. Get a beer flight, spinny wedges, and the house special crem brûlée. Can't go wrong!!

Outstanding food at a reasonable price. The bass was perfectly prepared and appropriately flakey. The pig soup with mushrooms was quite hearty and a bigger portion could have been a meal in itself. Ev en the dinner rolls are worth mentioning with a distinct sweetness that optimises the tastebuds for a enhanced experience. B Have rarely been served by a more attentive and pleasant waitperson. Looking forward to a repeat visit and this time we will take the scenic route down the Kings Highway from the Lehigh Valley .

Second time here. Great food and wonderful staff. First time here we were just passing through on our way back to Upstate NY and accidentally ran into this place and now it's a regular stop on our travels. The Irish onion soup is great ( if you like French onion soup).

The two stars here is for the food and drinks. We just had brunch here and the restaurant was not packed at all. It took well over an hour for us to get our food and not once did the waitress apologize for the wait. Thirty minutes into the wait we were told that they were out of Brussel sprouts which is fine...but when we got the check we were still charged for them. At this point we had waited so long that we just paid so we could leave. The only reason the whole experience was somewhat tolerable is because they offered $10 bottomless mimosas and the food that we finally got was good. Very small portions...but good. It would be very easy for them to get a higher rating if they had a better informed wait staff. A simple "I apologize for the wait, is there anything I can get you in the meantime" and a quick proofread of the bill would have gotten them an easy 4-star rating from me. Would I go back? Sure....but only because when you are pounding bottomless mimosas a 2 1/2 hour brunch where your bill is overcharged by $4 doesn't seem that bad. Updated 10/30/19- we came back for dinner and it was really great! Service was MUCH better. I think maybe our waitress was hungover when we were at brunch which I can understand.

Always have great food and service here. The chicken parmesan is very good - especially with the drizzled pesto. Crab cakes are excellent. Wonderful, flavorful sweet potato fries. Cheesecake is superb.

Delicious! We had the blackened swordfish with shrimp grits special for dinner! It was AMAZING! Following we had the peaches and cream pie and lemon tart! Yes, yes!!! Service was spot on, too! For an after soccer game, but want to drive away from the crowds and we are hungry and want to eat NOW, this was a find!

One of the best burgers I ever had. The onion rings and bacon jam were unreal. The meat was absolutely delicious. My girlfriend got the Reuben which was good too but my burger was the highlight. I would go back here 10 out of 10 times. I can't wait to go back so I can try the other burger. Many times a BBQ burger is a mess of flavors but not at this spot. I was utterly impressed

I was pleasantly surprised at the interior of the restaurant and the tasty food. Such a nice place to have dinner on a cold winter night. Every person in my party commented on how much they liked their food (and this can be a picky bunch). Certainly will come back when I'm in the area.

Stopped into Spinnerstown on a Thursday afternoon for lunch as we were heading out of two. As far as location goes, Spinnerstown is very convenient for those attempting to get on and off 476 at Quakertown. The interior of the Spinnerstown Hotel is clean and inviting. We sat in a booth and ordered lunch. Our two sons were with us and we ordered a pizza and grilled chicken off of the kids menu and the Irish onion soup, a chicken Caesar salad, and veggie burger off of the menu. The kids menu has great options that extend beyond traditional bland fare. The pizza was made on a pita and our kids really enjoyed it. The grilled chicken had a great taste and came with grilled asparagus and carrots. The Irish Onion Soup was great from the temp to the flavors. The chicken caesar salad was average (too much dressing and uneven cook on the chicken). Would not order it again. The veggie burger was good with a great sauce and quality bun. Overall, we were pleased with the kids menu being more creative than just frozen junk that you see at most places and were mostly happy with the adult food. The entire experience was a little long from point of order to food arriving but it was a solid experience overall.

After eating here on several occasions, I am changing my review to five stars. Mostly because of the consistency both in the dining room and the bar, but mostly coming out of the kitchen. Most neighbors and I have had hit or miss experiences over the years, but in all of my dinners in the past year, and there have been several... The menu and food is much better. The honey bacon jam burger is still my favorite burger, but the Irish breakfast small plate, the steak Tagliata, and the mac and cheese are wonderful. The peaches and cream pie... Save room for it. Trust me.
