Google
The variety of music genres is impressive, and there’s always something new to discover. Every purchase I’ve made has been excellent, and I’ve found items I wouldn’t see anywhere else. The CD section stands out—it’s organized, easy to browse, and full of hidden gems. The staff is knowledgeable and always ready to help you find exactly what you’re looking for. It’s a must-visit for any music lover.

Google
Ordered a very rare copy of Nathan Davis' The 6th Sense in the 11th House from their website. It was accurately graded (VG++ media and VG Cover) and it was securely packed and shipped quickly. I've been looking for a clean copy of this album for years and am so thankful for the good people at Spinster Records for making my grail come true! Will be buying from them again.

Google
I love this shop, I love the variety of music genres that y’all got and that there’s something new. I love all of my purchases from this shop. I love y’all’s cd section especially.Although at the moment I’m having trouble finding y’all’s socials I don’t know why it seems like I’ve been blocked and it truly makes me sad because I don’t get to see any news of y’all’s new incoming merchandise or if y’all are having any events.

Google
Great locally owned record store. Perfect sized inventory to either stay awhile or drop by. Displays make it easy to see top selections. Nice selection of new and used records. Made it a point to stop by while visiting Dallas after seeing their Tik Toks. They sell some amazing store and Oak Cliff swag. The this whole area of Oak Cliff is fun. Lots to do.

Google
Enjoyed this little store and found a rare artist/record in great condition. Also nice to meet Priscilla, very knowledgeable about the different kinds of turntables, unexpected bonus and will inform my purchase. Thank you!

Google
Very nice store, very focussed and tightly curated selection. Not the normal yard sale record store vibe. Very friendly and sincere staff, funky atmosphere, definitely worth a visit.

Google
Chill vibes and great selection for vintage and new vinyl. Highly recommended 🎶🎼🎵

Google
Loved this store! Very beautifully decorated inside and they have a vast selection of genres. Their Local Dallas merch was so dope. Please stop by and see for yourself.

Yelp
While visiting we had this spot on our list to do some record browsing while in the Bishop Arts district area. The shop is cute and quaint and I always appreciate being able to find and browse through records while in the area with family who want to some shopping. Yeah pricing is high but the price on vinyl has been high for many years. Selection here is curated and there is nothing wrong with that. If you end up finding what you have been looking for I suggest you get it because I ended up leaving a reasonably priced Outkast LP that I have yet to find, at that price, again in the wild. So do it - if you see something get it. I ended up buying some really cool inexpensive gold hoop earrings here rather than vinyl but only because I didn't find what I "needed" at the moment. But I was happy to see they had some apparel, jewelry, and some cool zines too. Worth a stop in especially if you want to find something unique!

Yelp
Nice displays for the records, but they are really pricey. Staff also isn't very inviting and I didn't want to buy anything from them even if I had found something that I liked. It's a large space, but it doesn't take that long to go through everything they have. There are better record shops out there. Honestly, even online shopping for records is more enjoyable than my time here was.

Yelp
As far as record stores go, this one is good. A nice selection of reasonably priced used and new records. I wish there was more selection as far as new and modern artists go. A lot of the smaller yet sizable artists / alternative genre musicians felt missing. If the artist you like is a popular hip-hop, rap, or pop artist they likely have the vinyl though. Overall, It's a nice stop while exploring the Bishops Arts District and has good vibes.

Yelp
a homey records store within bishop art district. tons of vinyls new and old at a reasonable price. i'm not a huge vinyl lover but i loved just browsing the various vinyls they have and finding vinyls of artists i love.
google avatar

Ashley S.

Yelp
I love my record player I have at home and I'm always looking to add some vinyl to my collection. This spot was open late and I decided to come take a look. They have a variety of options to choose from that's fairly priced. The customer service was great as well! I was delighted to stop by.

Yelp
I didn't take any pictures of the interior because I feel as though it would take away from stepping foot into the actual establishment. I truly enjoyed the wide range of selections I had. I was extremely excited when I asked that they had a particular artist in the two people helping me that work there were knowledgeable of the band and I felt seen. So I'm grateful.

Yelp
A pretty decent sized record shop with a decent selection without feeling overwhelming. Everything was pretty well organized, which was much appreciated!

Yelp
As a vinyl collector and avid audiophile, I made it my mission to find a record store when my wife and I got in town. Enter Spinster Records. Walking in during a busy day around the town, Spinster had beautiful music playing over the speakers while having a great selection of albums lining the walls followed by record players and speakers to choose from. Not only that, there was a beautiful selection of new and old vinyls, cassettes, and more! I'm always on the hunt for vinyls from my favorite groups, more classic than newer but then I found it... the 5yr anniversary edition of Mac Miller's Swimming. I walked away with that vinyl in hand along with one of their dope shirts at a great cost (around $100), including wonderful memories with my wife joining in one of my passions. I'll definitely have to stop back in next time we're in town so I can browse more of their selection!

Yelp
Friendly people working here, the selections are great neatly organized. Go support local!

H D.

Yelp
The friendly staff is just the start of a great afternoon here. David's knowledge about all things vinyl and turntable is extensive!!!
google avatar

Yelp
Kind of a hipster style vinyl shop. Tons of new popular vinyl and accessories. Nothing really of value to the true collector. I did enjoy the overall layout and look of the shop but I felt like it was lacking in content. Staff seemed very friendly and helpful. I will state that this location is in a nice area but has limited parking available. Might be nice to stop at after eating at a local restaurant but I wouldn't go out of my way to get here. I probably won't come back and I wish they had a better selection of used vinyl.

Bo L.

Yelp
Really great record store! Some record stores don't have a good selection of current and past artists but this one hits every mark. Highly recommend as a destination.
google avatar

Sheilicha S.

Yelp
The inside was nice the staff wasn't as inviting though they were both more in tune with the one guy that was already sitting down. Nevertheless, the visuals did take me back to my cassette and vinyl records/albums days.
google avatar

Marcus R.

Yelp
Great spot to find the next piece of your collection! There's a large selection organized from A-Z with pretty much any artist you can imagine, and all are reasonably priced! The staff is welcoming, helpful with any questions, and also allows dogs in the store! Highly recommend coming here for all your record needs!
google avatar

Kevin G.

Yelp
It's kind of a bad idea to make a customer feel stupid for asking for a record from a particular band. There's way too many choices in local record shops to spend your money with. To dismiss and send an avid record buyer out the door pissed, kinda seems uncool.
google avatar

Yelp
Sounds in your home just aren't complete, without Spinster Records! It can be quite intimidating adding a sound system to your home, but Spinster Record's staff makes you feel like you're part of the family. Both my clients, and I had the pleasure of being assisted with our systems by the owner, David, who offers amazing service, and crash course, for turn tables, speakers, and vinyls. We rested with systems from Rega to Music Hall, and speakers, and amplifiers alike, but what remains important, is no matter your budget, there's a system for you, and the staff of Spinter Records are qualified to help. Important note: A few systems I purchased for clients, had to be shipped, and their commentary, and thanks to David, and the professional packing of their purchased, as well as walking them through setup, made me look like a rock star too! Just starting off, or upgrading; Spinster Records has you covered. Happy spinning!

Yelp
We've know about Spinster Records for some time and we're happy to be able to check out their Dallas branch. This is what we do, besides being vinyl and hone audio enthusiasts , we review record stores, albums and equipment. We had the pleasure to meet Kate, who was quick not only to greet us, but other customers too, she didn't miss a thing and was very attentive. She handles their PR, curates and is the only Canadian who works there(just sayin'). Kate was very helpful and very friendly, which is a breath of fresh air these days. Spinster has new vinyl(12 and 7 inch), vintage vinyl and cassettes, as well as stereo equipment-new and used. Music Hall seems to be the brand of choice. They also offer hats, t-shirts, beanies and other swag. After checking their inventory, they seem to specialize in the "obscure," promotional copies and indie releases, especially local talent. We found a used copy of "Sounds Like Herb Alpert & The Tijuana Brass" and "Crosseyed Heart" by Keith Richards. We came in on a Saturday and they had a constant stream of customers as the store is located in the Bishop Arts District. The only thing that posed a problem is the fact is at the doorway which has a small set of steps down. Not good if you're in a wheelchair, which I was. However, people gathered to carry me down-no sweat. It needs to be ADA equipped, the only reason we deducted a star. This is a great store with great folks-we had a lot of fun, so please swing by and tell them we sent ya! The "star of the show" though is Kate, she's amazing!

Yelp
LOVE LOVE LOVE this place !! What an asset to Bishop Arts area They have a lot of verity in the vinyls they carry .. love the vibe this place puts off .. love the ladies that work there .. they are very helpful in finding you just the right vinyls:) Did you know that they have local singers perform in the store ... :) that is so cool!!!
google avatar

Yelp
Nice vinyl record location in the Oak Cliff area for music collectors. There's a small stage for performances, old school tapes, clothing, and random comic books and jewelry knick knacks.
google avatar

Kat O.

Yelp
This place is AWESOME. The manager, Nick, was enthusiastic and extremely knowledgeable about all things vinyl. We were served a water and beer while we waited to test new turntables and speakers. We ended up buying a full new setup: Marantz receiver, Kef speakers and Rega P1 handmade turntable from England. The new system sounds AMAZING in our living room. Go here for vintage records, new records and full systems!
google avatar

Lonnie H.

Yelp
It was such a cool vibe. Cute art with some good selfie spots. They had a huge Selection of vinyl albums. They also had some cool turn tables. I will love yo go back and browse the store again for sure.
google avatar

Nicole B.

Yelp
Nice set up, friendly staff and a prime location in bishop arts. 4 stars instead of 5 because the selection is a little bit smaller, but the staff is friendly, willing and able to source anything you're looking for. They were serving a little lunch and gumbo in celebration of the Mardi Gras parade on the Sunday I went. Prices are okay, the bulk of records ran $6, $10, $20, $30 and $50. Seemed like lots from the 60s and 70s, some cool local records and a smattering of modern (think Ariana Grande, black panther soundtrack, etc.), stop by and good luck skipping emporium pies on your way out.
google avatar

Yelp
Terrible Terrible staff!! I bought a record that was warped, brought the record in they allowed me to exchange it ... great right , wrong ! The next album was the exact same and she blamed it on my turn table, okay cool. I call back and ask pricing on turn tables she acted as if she couldn't tell me because she didn't know which one I wanted. Like come on lady give options. Not sure, guess they didn't want the sell. I'll never return.
google avatar

Yelp
Me and my boyfriend had an issue where the system had gone down after we had both scanned our cards. We ended up having to pay in cash. Later checking our accounts it had still taken our money. I called them after but they claimed "it would all go back into your account". Which it didn't, now I'm stuck submitting a dispute with my bank because they clearly don't know what's going on. The girls working the front desk are rude and know nothing about customer service either which is perfect. To top it off a record we bought is severely scratch as well. I wouldn't return here.
google avatar

Alyssa W.

Yelp
Quirky and pleasant vibe. Enjoyed spending time here. Good selection, lots of new and old to search through.

Jason C.

Yelp
Very knowledgeable and down to earth people. Didn't seem to be bothered by my stupid questions. Called the owner the next day and he FaceTime me to help with a question on the setup.

Yelp
I love this place. Great used records, tons of affordable jazz records, new reissues. Staff is really nice. Found a Voidoids album that I've never been able to find anywhere else. 5 stars.

Randi P.

Yelp
My fiancé and I have spoken with the owner before, and he's very nice. The vintage record collection here is not incredibly large, but sometimes there is a gem. However, the younger girls that work here do not display the best attitudes. We have been collecting records for over 10 years together, and both have incredibly broad musical tastes. We are also very aware that the record market is very different today than 10 years ago. This store is always popular and busy, and we wish the owner good vibes. Just sad that employees are not presenting their best selves, especially when the information they're providing is not the most accurate. This isn't High Fidelity, girls. You might be in the city, but you're in Texas; and your bad attitude here can unfortunately hurt the business of a nice owner.
google avatar

Lauren M.

Yelp
Love this local record shop. Not only do they sell new and vintage vinyl but also support new and current local artist through performances and events they host in their space. David is really knowledgable and helpful and he's always getting in new inventory. It's a smaller vinyl shop but you can find some quality stuff, just look for it. They even participate in Record Store Day each year which I love! Prices are a tiny bit higher here but I don't mind since I'm getting to support a small business.
google avatar

Nancy T.

Yelp
This was place was really cool. They are a little on the pricey side though. They required masks which is great! The place also had chairs for you to sit on if you're done shopping and waiting on your significant other to finish up. I would recommend this place.
google avatar

Leslie D.

Yelp
I had the pleasure of visiting here during Thanksgiving holiday for Record Store Day. The staff was extremely warm and welcoming - not to mention knowledgeable. Every customer received a "hello" despite the swarm of folks. I kind of feel like - "what's the point of driving to a record store if you get what you're looking for cheaper at Discogs?" Spinster is why. It is what makes us not want to order things online and drive out to the store - organized, friendly, knowledgeable - even made suggestions. win WIN WIN!! With just two people on staff, the Spinster crew was able to assist people with even serving them coffee. I was pretty impressed. I cannot wait to go there on a normal shopping day when I have time to kill. I'd really love to rummage their selection. My only fear is that they're riding on the vinyl boom and wouldn't make it through a downturn = "winter is coming ..."
google avatar

Yelp
I've been here at least 10 times now and purchased some great records: Leon Bridges, Woodstock, Lana Del Rey and most recently, Prince's Purple Rain because the shop owners stay super connected to local music and best-sellers. We were all devastated when Prince died, so Spinster immediately placed orders for all of the albums they could get their hands on. I appreciate how well this store takes note of consumer needs. It's also not too trendy that old-school collectors like my dad and my Uncle Steve feel out of place. They've found classics to add to their collections, too, like Jim Croce, John Prine and some CSNY, and Bowie. I never buy a record my dad already has, by the way, because I know his will all be mine someday. That's why I indulge in more re-released or contemporary records at Spinster--yeah it was $30 for the Purple Rain album, but it's new and un-scratched and I will get to put my own mark on it!
google avatar

Sandi L.

Yelp
Really cute record store. The disco ball is always spinning. Staff is incredibly friendly, talked to my 7 year old about Leon bridges for probably 15 minutes. They have some local accessories like lapel pins, clothing, and hats, also record accessories like players and whatnot. Small collection of cassette tapes. Clean store, super organized. I was looking for a record they didn't have, so they took my info and called me less than a week later.
google avatar

Aaron T.

Yelp
A lot of space with not much music. This place has all the visuals of looking decent, but it unfortunately falls super short. Extremely overpriced. Records are all bunched together alphabetically, not by genre. Makes looking a bit random (which would be ok if the prices were lower). Disappointment for all the rave reviews here on yelp.
google avatar

Nathan C.

Yelp
Love going in to Spinster whenever I'm in the neighborhood. Everyone that works there is great and they have a decent selection of new and old. They also have great concerts and events..
google avatar

Kelsi D.

Yelp
I love Spinster!! Great new/used vinyl selection and knowledgeable & helpful staff! Definitely worth the drive if you don't live in the hood.

Jon T.

Yelp
Would recommend checking this place out. The staff is great. Miranda is the the kindest person ever!

Yelp
Just ordered an album i've been looking for all over DFW & i'm so pleased. they were so nice & very helpful plus they had a great price on the vinyl i was looking for. can't wait o actually go in & check it out!

Yelp
First, let me give the owner props for bringing this store front to Oak Cliff! The establishment fits in perfectly with the up and coming Bishop Arts scene. Thanks-we need more entrepreneurial spirit such as yours! As for the shop...well, it is a great looking store with a knowledgeable owner and friendly staff. I am always greeted warmly and never talked down to - even given my limited knowledge of vinyl and high-end sound systems. The selection- well, this is the only need for improvement, but I'm sure as the business matures and the owner sees what is in demand that this will dramatically improve. Price - VERY reasonable given that the profit margin cannot be that great on vinyl. The small selection of turntables and audio equipment are priced (all things considered) right. You wont find cheap junk here, but given the reason people are going back to vinyl- why would you want cheap? I would, however, like to see a larger selection of vintage audio components. In short, Dallas, much less Oak Cliff, needs MORE proprietors like this!! Small business is the backbone of America and stores like this definitely need the communities support!

Yelp
I liked this record store when I went. I found To Pimp a Butterfly (Kendrick Lamar), Rock and Roll Night Club (Mac DeMarco), and even a Pat Bennet album for my mother. We [my family] all had a great time, and when I walked in, I was elated to be there. I personally love records. The store clerk greeted us, although he was the only one there. Anyways, I got three good-playing records and I'd go back in a heartbeat!
google avatar

Danielle A.

Yelp
After eating in the bishop arts district, we googled record stores just for fun and found this gem of a store. It's a tiny store front, but is pretty big inside. The guy behind the cash register was incredibly knowledgeable about records, often chiming in when we were looking at stuff to tell us facts or ask questions about our setup and collection. At one point he heard my boyfriend saying he would get rid of some albums he had never listened to to make room for the ones he wanted to get, and the guy knew the whole discography of that person and spoke with us about why we should give them a shot before discarding them. It definitely added to the experience. There's a big selection of sealed records, ranging from about $24-$34. They are reasonable and they are the same prices you'd find online for the same records (I checked). They also have an equally sized selection of "vintage" records, aka used records, that had some pretty awesome finds. It's a far drive, but we'll definitely be back again.
google avatar

Ron D.

Yelp
I went here just to check it out. Had a Sunday to myself, so did the 35 min drive. Very small store with very little vinyl. Not really my kind of place.

Bonzo T.

Yelp
Its unlikely any store will have anything that you can't get on discogs or eBay and in the case of discogs, perhaps a bit cheaper. But you go to the local stores to support local businesses. Excellent store and shocking knowledge by the mostly young staff. Well done.

Cam C.

Yelp
I love Spinster Records. I bought an audio system there and the owner has gone out of his way multiple times to help me out. Recently I lost a cable in a move and I couldn't set up the system, and he helped me out. Records are fairly priced, and it's a good place to order a record if you're looking for one.
google avatar

Rob D.

Yelp
Popped in to seek out some local music on wax. Nice little store, not huge and not much in terms of used inventory, but the selection of local stuff was great, and the employee working that day (Kate) was incredibly cool and gave some great recommendations that I ended up enjoying quite a bit. As far as record stores go, if I leave having had a good chat and some records that I've never heard of that end up being great, I'm a happy camper. This one fits the bill perfectly.

Kiley A.

Yelp
They have a great range of records... vintage and new. The service is wonderful. Everyone that works there is knowledgeable about music and turntables. Best record store in Dallas ... in my opinion!
google avatar

Arielle H.

Yelp
Super cool record store with a good selection of music. I went recently and they had live music, unfortunately I didn't get the name of the band but it's cool to see them support local artists. I definitely need to come back and explore some more!
google avatar

Joel R.

Yelp
All vinyl, cool little store for another pocket of gentrification in Oak Cliff. The staff seemed friendly enough, but they don't have a terribly large collection to pick from (the pics of the store don't lie). Not really worth the drive unless you're already in the area.
google avatar

Robert B.

Yelp
I was unfair. I admit it. My check in here was less than stellar. As I spent the next hour I hung my head in shame. As I was offered a beer, bought a stack of fantastic finds, and wished that I lived in the neighborhood behind this record store. I will be around to see a show here. I will apologize. I will try not to be so damn "shoot from the hip" judgmental again.
