For someone who doesn’t eat meat, the grilled cheese (which you can customize!) was so yummy. Service was almost an hour on a Thursday but the service was so respectful, kind and generous. Shoutout to Becky who made our visit feel like she was joining us for dinner and catching up! Would 10000% come back!

Right down the street from Miller and H-D headquarters. Can’t beat the wings. We had Ranch Parmesan and Blue Berry BBQ. Love me them both but if you’re only doing one the Blueberry BBQ are ones you won’t find everywhere. Great homemade ranch for the wings too! Swiss mushroom with portobello mushrooms and crispy tots! Everyone was super friendly. For my friends in town still for Homecoming get your butts over here.

My husband and I wanted to try this place for the first time, specifically for the wings. We arrived a few minutes before 5:00 before the brewer shuttle traffic showed up, the lower level was near empty with a couple empty tables on the main level, so it wasn’t that busy except for people drinking at the bar. It took 20 minutes for a water and Arnold Palmer, meanwhile 3 tables that showed up *after* us got their drinks before us. We had to get our server to take our food order since we were waiting so long. We ordered 2 appetizers and wings for our meal. We never got our appetizers, and the tables after us were somehow able to get their food before us as well as additional drinks. We had to stop our server to ask when our apps will be up, and a different employee came to us saying it will be an additional 30 minutes, mind you we’ve already been at this place for almost an hour and considered walking out. They gave us the wrong food order, of course ordered by the people who sat after us. They waited until the wings were done to get our apps, apparently one was sold out and didn’t tell us until food was dropped. They did switch it out and got it to us in 5 minutes, which was confusing as to why it took over an hour for French fries. Sat at 4:54 didn’t get any food until about 6:15. The server did tell us they had a small kitchen, the heads up would have been appreciated as well has having our apps so we can eat something before for the main course. They did comp one of the apps for the inconvenience which was nice of them, I’ll give them that. While we were waiting we decided to look at the reviews of this place where lack of service and incredibly long wait times is a consistent issue here. We won’t be returning.

I’ve come to this bar about three times each time the wings have been great. The customer service has been great! Andy you’re the man! Best wings in town, hands-down

This is definitely a neighborhood restaurant that gives you a “Cheers” vibe. I initially didn’t know what to expect when I walked in, but the staff made me feel very comfortable. I thought someone was going to take me to a table, but the guy looked at me like “go sit down somewhere”. So I just went and sat my butt down!😊 It was such an awesome experience. The staff was super friendly. The food was INCREDIBLE. We had the blueberry BBQ wings, honey BBQ wings, Korean BBQ wings, fries and crispy green beans. The fries and green beans were fried and seasoned to absolute perfection. The wings were huge and delicious. This place has it going on! Yall gotta go to this place. It’s definitely a hidden gem in the Tosa Village.

Google
we stopped in after a Brewer game and during Harley fest, so it was busy. Gabbie was our bartender, wait staff and server. she was so busy but did an amazing job. we had wings, peach heat delicious, just a light taste of peach with medium heat and carribean jerk, not hot. lots of wing sauces. everyone in the bar was having a good time. if you're looking for a place with a variety of sauces to choose from, this is it.

Google
Very Customer Service orientated. Food was Excellent. Will definitely return. Just an FYI- No Fish Frys on Fridays if there's a Brewers Game.

Unfortunately, the way you look is the way you’ll be treated at this establishment. Everyone was that fit the bill was getting their order taken in a timely manner. I kept getting overlooked by the servers and when my order did finally get taken…. It took an hour for my food to come out. Also! Upon getting on the shuttle after being in the bar for over an hour, I was met with an onslaught of questions. Then here’s the kicker, after the game I go to get back on the shuttle and driver asks if I’m at the right bus? What a joke of a place. If you’re not the right shade you’ll be treated like they don’t want your business here!!!

Yelp
We loved the wings here! There was a lot of meat on the boneless and bone-in wings. The flavor was so good in the Caribbean Jerk and honey BBQ, would definitely get these again. The spicy BBQ was spicier than expected and the Nashville hot wasn't as flavorful. There was a 25 minute wait on wings so I'm happy we got some apps to fill in. There were plenty of games on the TVs, darts and pool in the lower level, great place to hang! We left planning our next trip there it was so good! Highly recommended for good wings.

Yelp
We went to spitfires on state instead of tailgating before a Brewer game. When we walked in the place seemed clean and the initial greeting from staff was friendly. We chose spitfires on state because they had pool and darts for our kids to play while the adults socialized. The first problem started when one of my sons put money in the pool table and the ball didn't come out. We asked several different employees to help us with this problem, and it took forever for anybody to even come over to help. Finally, when someone came over to help they didn't have the key to open up to get the jammed balls out. The second problem was some none of their tap beer was working. A couple of us had bloody Mary's and wanted beer chasers but we couldn't get that and others. Just wanted to tap beer and couldn't get one either. The third problem was items on their menu weren't available. We had two people in our party that wanted the pulled pork they were out of that. We had two other people in our party that wanted the chili they were out of that. The fourth, the service was incredibly slow. The food took longer than it should've come out and when we ordered more bloody Mary's, it took over 20 minutes for them to bring the drinks to us. We ended up having to send them back because we were getting ready to leave. I could understand if the place was packed with people and service was a little slow. The bar was busy, but it wasn't jampacked and they seem to have plenty of employees. Some of the employees spent most of their time, chatting with guests and even sitting at their table instead of helping customers. There was one bright spot and that was the food was pretty good. However, with service that poor, I would never recommend spitfires on state to any of my friends or family.

Yelp
Heard about this place from a coworker so I decided to check it out. It was a little loud for a while which was to be expected when it was during Summerfest and they offer shuttle service. I felt a little bad for the bartender as she seemed to be by herself but handled it pretty well. Quick review, food was pretty tasty! Cooked well and reasonably priced. I will definitely be back to try something else!

Yelp
Second time going and the wings were delicious! I recommend the double dipped for the extra sauce! The vibe is very relaxed in there and the staff is friendly and prompt! There is at least a 25 minute wait on the wings to come out after ordering, so know that prior to going. If you're looking for something quick may not be the place, but the wings are 100% worth the wait!

Yelp
Stopped in after a Brewers game for our 10 year olds bday . The server was SOOOO friendly , the wings were to die for and the price was right! Got the BBQ Blueberry wing sauce and I will now crave that ! Would absolutely buy some and have it shipped to Illinois ! WE WILL BE BACK! 10/10!

Yelp
Stopped in for a fish fry on a recent Friday. A typical sports bar with a good crowd on the day of a Brewer's game. Table service was quick, friendly and waitress knew the answers to questions we had about the menu. We settled on the 5 piece beer battered cod fish fry (3 piece also an option). Mine came with tater tots, a small cup of coleslaw and a piece of marbled rye bread. The fish and tots were crisped without being oily, that's a plus for a sports bar. The cod had a good taste and the pieces were large enough to be filling with the other sides. I just had a soda without any refill. The bill came to about $19 before tip, so a bit on the steep side when compared to other fish fry's in the area. But this place still gets a recommend for a good fry.

Yelp
been meaning to make it here to try their wings and so glad I did! all the food was fantastic. wonton mozz sticks were crispy and lots of cheese. fries delicious. and the wings were giant and crispy and so so so good! we tried a bayou dry rub and the medium garlic ... I expected them to be different but all the wings seem to come more crispy (less saucy). next time I think I'll try one of their variation of cooking where they resauce at the end! inside was simple bar vibes, it was surprisingly full at 2pm on a Saturday with friends getting together and watching the basketball game! waitress had a lot of ground to cover but still did an incredible job. would recommend!

Yelp
Food is good The customer service from the young guy SUCKS! Guess you have to be a regular to get good service Told him I wanted to order when he brought drinks he said oh let me grab writing pad and cane back 10 min later smh They had games on all TVs one game on 2 and another on 3 we asked if he could change on the two he claimed he couldn't so we played darts and watched the game that was on the three screens and what do you know he comes change those games not even ask if we were watching which you could tell bc we took were looking directly at TVs. Then I had to chase him down because he ran to back and told him we were watching game and he said they are switching and thats just what it is. I spoke with the "manager" and she said they converted to some boxes and someone may have requested tv be changed yet the couple on pool table didn't request anything so we left.... The food isn't good enough for the rudeness.

Yelp
Laid back, fun neighborhood bar tucked along State St. Wings are fire. Cheap drinks. Good service. They live by their motto: "Turning randoms into regulars". One of the best wing joints in the city, with over 25 sauces to choose from. What makes these stand out is their cooking method: "Fry, sauce, grill " as the menu says. The quality is apparent after the first bite and sets them apart from other wing spots in town. Don't sleep on their burgers though! The Spitfire burger was excellent, as was their fries and side options. They also offer shuttle rides to Brewers and Bucks games.

Cindie V.

Yelp
The best part of our evening at Spitfire's was our server Chloe. Despite the terribly LONG wait to get food and our complaints, she stayed positive and checked on us often. Now to the LONG wait. Our plans for the evening were to eat, then go downtown for the Stevie Wonder concert. We allowed ample time so that we wouldn't have to rush. However, it was OVER an hour to get our food (chicken sandwich and BLT). At one point Chole checked and our order was next - it was still more than 30 minutes before we received our food. The cook could have gone to the store, purchase the items and prepared it in less time. When our patience was at the breaking point, we asked who was in charge there that night. Neither Tami nor Andy (we assume they are the owners or managers) were there - explained a LOT. We would be understanding, if the place were packed. It was somewhat full, but not packed. When we arrived the bar was close to full, but there was only one other table taken in the whole restaurant. Although the food was okay, we will NOT be returning nor will we recommend this establishment until they fix their kitchen problems.

Service was GREAT, got seated and waited on promptly! Highly recommended!!!!

Yelp
Stopped here after work with some friends for drinks and dinner! An unassuming place for certain, but really welcoming right when you walk in. I get why they have a sign that says "Randoms Become Regulars"! Plenty of choices for beverages, all the standard beer and liquor options you would expect to find at any Milwaukee establishment. Enjoyed the actual fresh lime on my beverage, so many are dry and don't contribute anything to the drink at all! The food was by far the best surprise of the night. Menu had more options than I anticipated for a bar, which was nice! My friends ordered the Crispy Beans, and guys, I'm in LOVE. They were fried green beans, and they were SO good. I could've ordered another basket just for myself for dinner! The wing selection is awesome. They have like 30 different sauces, and you get to pick what "style" you want your wings as well. Be aware that some wing "styles" charge a small fee as it is extra work for the cook depending on how you get them. I ordered extra saucy Honey BBQ, delicious! I thought I would eat more than 6, but their wings are HUGE! None of those small drums or wings here, these were meaty and filling. Came out super hot as well, which is a must for wings in my book. Definitely a fun spot with a low key vibe, perfect for a night with some friends at the bar. Looked like they do shuttles to games as well as a big 'ol bus was parked alongside the building.

Yelp
Let me go ahead and tell you about this spot. Go..... quit reading this and go! If you're still reading , the wings are worth the drive! Such great flavor. Our server was fast, friendly and answered all of our annoying tourist questions. If you dig the "dive bar" vibe and want great food... this is your spot!!!

Tamara O.

Yelp
This is the best kept secret (until now) for wings and burgers. I'm telling you I can't believe nobody knows about these wings and those burgers. OMG! Andy, Tammy, and Becky have created such an amazing neighborhood bar and kitchen.
google avatar

Yelp
So decided to go to this joint called Spitfire on State. I'm telling you-the bars here are like out of a movie or something. They're all literally right in the middle of a neighborhood. It's pretty cool. VERY blue collar and very familiar despite never being here-bartender wearing shorts and Packers jerseys/tshirts all around! The front door stays open for patrons to come in & out and everybody knows each other here. Awesome atmosphere, can't speak more highly of it. Ended up speaking with the bartender a lot-cool dude. He explained what I should be expecting when for the Brewers game the next evening, so that was very appreciated. I also had a new flavor of wings here that I've never had-Parmesan ranch. So so good! I will say however that I thought it needed more sauce, but it's all good. If/when I come back to Milwaukee, I WILL be returning to this joint. Thank you Spitfires for an awesome evening and showing me what it's like to be a local here.

Yelp
Spitfire's was one of two options I found near where I work that was offering a shuttle to the Bucks playoff game. Based on the menu and ease of access, my wife choose Spitfire's over the other option. She ordered a cheeseburger with chive fries and I ordered beer battered cod with chive fries. My wife liked the burger, but I thought the bite I tried had a slightly odd taste. Conversely, I liked the chive fries and sour cream dip but she thought the sour cream dip wasn't as good as the kind at Saz's. The batter on the cod was good, but the cod itself overpowered it at times and made the fish a little bland overall. At one point I saw a different customer's shrimp basket and regretted not getting that instead. The shuttle was...interesting. The atmosphere was more party bus than shuttle which was fun heading down to the game, but not so much on the way back. After the Bucks won and many of the riders had a few drinks in them, the rowdiness of some of the riders was a little too much. Both for this reason and the food being blah, I think we'll go with the other option the next time we need a shuttle to a Bucks game.
google avatar

Norah T.

Yelp
They are still redoing the inside but it's starting to look nice and come together!! Lots of open room and no trouble finding a spot. Ordered the ginger sesame and sour cream and chive fries. Both of those options amazing!!! Wings weren't dripped in sauce and wasn't messy. Fries were straight out of fryer so they were amazing. Been here multiple times and just want to shout them out. Love coming here!

Chris R.

Yelp
St Patricks Day morning. Stopped there since they had a sign outside the door saying Lunch starting at 9:00 AM Saturday and Sunday and we were heading for the noon Bucks game. After ordering two $11.00 Bloody Mary's that did NOT come with a pint chaser(That was the only way the BM would have been worth $11.00.) we asked to see the menu. That was when we were informed the kitchen did not open till 11:00. When we mentioned the sign by the doorway and that we had a noon basketball game, the bartender says there is a sign outside? There was also a guy who was there I believe smoking brisket for later in the day. When the bartender mentioned that we were there for lunch and about the sign out front his response was "That's not my problem". This place is for regulars only, and if you stop looking to try their great burgers or wings expect to be treated like a second class citizen. That is if the kitchen is even open. As a side note you can go to McGinns for better and bigger wings, and they cost a lot less.

Yelp
We decided to end our 2019 with some delicious wings! We tried quite a few flavors such as blueberry bbq, 4b, citrus chipotle, bleu buffalo, and chili lime. The 4b was by far our favorite! The wings were great! Not too much sauce, fried then grilled with a lot of flavor. The chive fries were also a great side. Everything is a la carte so dressing and veggies are extra. The only thing that was a negative is that their board stated domestic drafts were $1.75 on Mondays, and I still got charged the full amount for my Miller lite. It was only $1.25 more so it's nbd, but not in line with what was advertised. We're looking forward to trying the rest of their flavors, they have an expansive menu

Yelp
I was never a wing person so Im trying to get into the wing thing because I do like wings so I'm trying places here and there. The guys at work commented on this place when the wing conversation started so I thought I would try them. I have been to enough wing places over the years but I'm trying to make a better effort to go out just for wings more because a good wing is a good thing. The place is in a weird looking area that looks industrial with no people on the streets like it's in the wrong place. The place has a lot and street parking which is nice and they have a game bus in front. The place is multi level and not bad looking with all the game tables and machines one would expect at a sports bar, it's not a dive but it's fancy. It has a small bar with hi tables and a lower level dining area with big screens all over and a hot popcorn machine. There is a couple of out door seating areas if you want to be outside on a nice day. There was a ball game on the big screen and I noticed right away that they have a decent sound system with plenty of bass for a sports game. I would have the 6 wing meal which is wings and a side and I got the tator tots. I wanted some hot wings today so I decided that devils balls would be a painful face melter at the top so I would get tropical heat which was half way up the inferno chart and where I wanted to be heat wise. The craft beer tap selection was poor so I got the riverwest stein which was an amber style beer served on the warm side which ruined it for me. The tropical heat wings was described by the bartender as a habanero mango which sounded good. When they came out they looked and smelled good so I had high hopes that quickly faded after the first wing. The tots were golden crispy and soft on the inside that needed seasoning and nothing special, just tarot tots but I like them. The wings had some grill marks and looked good but they were a total let down, they start with a sweet flavor and finish with a very small heat in the mouth. For half way up the inferno chart I should have broke a sweat, nope so now I'm puzzled because none of the wings matched there chart heat wise and there was only three options hotter on the chart so these should have been hotter than what they were. I cook with habanero peppers all the time and I make a habanero jerky that sent a man running for the pop machine after I told him not to try one so I don't know why they were so mild. Overall this place did not dethrone my favorite wing place and I don't get hot ones from there anyway so there regular ones blow this place away. For the benefit of doubt maybe I just picked the wrong flavor and heat level but I will not be back for the wings. The wings and warm tap beer did not impress me on my visit so I don't think I would ever get back there and I'm not saying it was bad but not good enough to get me back.

Yelp
Good Local eatery! Good variety of items on menu. Ordering Service was prompt. Food service was a bit slow for the light crowd. Beer selection a little light but reasonably priced. The music was great! Wings were pretty good and so were the tots. This is a good place to go if you're nearby. I have no regrets, neither will you.
google avatar

Natalie C.

Yelp
First time stopping here. The hot wings were one of the best I have had. 20 wings, with a pitcher of ( miller product) for $20. Not bad! Too bad I don't drink Miller! The onion rings were also very good. The moz stick were just good, but the sauce was yummy. This has something for everyone, good food, pool, darts and a hoop machine. The service is on top of everything and so, so friendly. If your going to to the brewers or bucks this is the place to catch your 'free' shuttle. If you have tickets to The packers game, have a beer and enjoy your shuttle to Green Bay! We will be back to this hidden gem!

Cindy O.

Yelp
Thought we would go out for corned beef on St Patrick's day. It took us 1/2 hour to order the food and it took over an hour to get the food, I don't understand why because Corned beef is already made, yesterday or in the morning and it is the only thing on the menu besides wings. We called yesterday and they told us they were also serving their regular menu along with the corned beef. That was wrong. It was St Patrick's day and there was 1/2 roll of TP in the ladies restroom. Poorly run place giving out incorrect information over the phone the message when they didn't answer the phone said they were closed due to a watermain break- who runs a business like this? Oh when the food finally got there we were 1 corned beef sandwich short they were able to get that out in 10 minutes of course after everyone else was done eating....

Yelp
The wings are my favorite on earth. Uranus, that's a different story. The sauces are homemade and all very unique. They first fry the wings, then sauce them before finishing them on the grill. This leads to tasty char bois. Homemade ranch and blue cheese also help compliment the wings without overpowering. Something also to think about, they have a FREE yes, free shuttle for all local sporting events and concerts. This means no you don't need to buy a stupid ticket or wristband. But c'mon, their drinks are affordable. Go Bucks!

Yelp
Neighborhood dive bar. We accompanied some friends here on Wednesday nite, 7/24/13; they like the chicken wings here. My first observation is that they have several plastic dart board games, an electronic "Hoop Fever" basketball game, a pool table, and a TV in every nook and cranny. On our arrival, we (five of us) sat a large table in the dining area. Several minutes later, a young lady who we all thought was the server told us she was very busy, but would get to us shortly, which she did, several minutes later. Upon taking our order, I realized that she was inexperienced in taking cocktail orders; she asked about two ordinary call orders we had made. Then, to our utter amazement, we watched her walk behind the bar and realized she was actually the bartender, too. Ooops! We ordered sandwiches and chicken wings. The food was good. The breast of chicken on the chicken sandwiches were cooked to perfection.... soft, not dry, but thoroughly cooked. Not sure what's going on at this place, but it is obvious that the (very sweet and nice) young lady that served us AND was the bartender, has absolutely no experience or training for her job. Shame on the owners/management for putting her in that position without teaching her the basics and supervising her along the way. Or maybe the owners don't care and see their business as just a hobby? Hmmm.

Yelp
Food was not great. I asked for no sour cream and the food came out with sour cream on it. Overall food was hot and cooked well just didn't taste very good.Service was ok and friendly. There was some shuttle bus driver that takes people to summer fest. He was loud and obnoxious. He was rude and interrupting our meal as he got into our personal space yelling at us in an attempt to make small talk as if we knew him. He literally looked and sounded intoxicated then we find out he is the driver of the shuttle bus which is scary to think about. The Mens bathroom is small and disgusting in a way I can't describe and I don't recommend you find out for your self. Basically it's too damn small and they expect to fit three people in there at one time. I'm sure they do a good amount of business here and the two ladies that provide service were very nice but I don't think I will return.

Yelp
I always enjoy myself when I visit Spitfires. The atmosphere is very relaxed and I'm obsessed with their wings!!!

Yelp
We celebrated my husband's birthday at one of our favorites. It was fantastic! The food was perfect! The service was outstanding! We were able to sit outside with our dog that couldn't be left alone. We couldn't have asked for a better way to celebrate a birthday!

Yelp
I was told this place had the best wings in Milwaukee. I still dont think they beat Points East, but they're solidly good, and unlike Points East, you have a variety of flavors and can get them to go. I tried myriad flavor sauces, but when they came out, they werent labeled, so I have no idea which were which. All I can tell you is that I liked some more than others. Sometimes I prefer dry seasoned wings, as sauced wings are too wet. Here they do it perfectly-- fry them, sauce them, then grill them, so they're not soggy. They have various specials and I just happened to arrive on Wing Day. The server was very kind and helped me get the most food for my money. That kind of service goes a long way and contributed to my star waiting. Atmosphere wise, it's basically a dive bar. Clean, dark, low ceiling, no frills, some serious drinkers. I'm told they do shuttles to the games. Personally I'm just here for the chicken.

Yelp
If I could give this place zero stars I would. This is the second time I've walked in there sat down and then had zero service no one came to my table no one took my drink order no one took my food order we were completely ignored. For the second time we got up and left the establishment to go somewhere else. This is the worst service I have ever received at any restaurant I will not be going there again.

James P.

Yelp
Last Sunday during the Packer game I went in to meet my son. I waited about 25 minutes for the waitress to come and get my drink order. She brought the worst bloody Mary with a string cheese and a sausage stick. She apologized for not having fixings. Whatever. Came back to take our food order to return 15 minutes later to inform us that wings were on their way. Probably walking there. Anyway I can go on but you get it right? Service SUCKED!
google avatar

Hi M.

Yelp
It's ok. Not great. Heard their wings were to die for, the ones I received were ok but not anything I would go out of my way for. They do have shuttles which is cool.

Yelp
DO NOT GO HERE if you're a grammar fiend like I am. You will be haunted by their "Fish Fry's" and "wing's". However... their hilarious grammar caught my attention, and when on the lookout for a quick lunch spot, they popped into my mind's. We head over around noon and seriously no one was there! They have a little lot behind the bar that is nice, however this is plenty of street parking around the bar. The bartender was super friendly when we walked in and told us we could absolutely enjoy lunch on their nice patio. We headed out and both ordered a couple drinks - it was even the special on monday that it was buck off drinks :) The inside was decked out with tons of tables and lots of machines to play on - plus there were tons of tvs, good place to catch a game perhaps... especially with that Brewer's shuttle that they have! Their menu actually had some pretty impressive options, but we wanted wings! Their wings were cheap at 12 for $10, but we both opted for the "meal", which included 6 (or 12) wings and a side. The sides were fries, tots, wedges, o-rings etc... with curds and the like being offered for slight up-charges. The wings were really good, and they have tons of sauces to choose from. They take about 15 minutes as they fry them, then sauce them, then grill them. This really soaked in a ton of the sauce flavor, but after grilling they came out pretty dry sauce wise. The spicy garlic packed tons of flavor into Jeremy's, but my Blue Buffalo unfortunately left a lot of flavor left to be desired. I spose it's also that I prefer a little bit of a saucier wing. The bone bucket, extra naps and wet wipes were an appreciated effort. All in all, for two drinks, a wing meal and a tip I walked out paying about $16! Great deal and awesome service... I will be back!

Yelp
I love their wings! They're seasoned well and are fairly priced. The staff for the most part is very friendly and quick to serve you. A visit a month ago has me a little reluctant to return though. The bartender was supposed to be tending to the few tables by the bar. She visited our table 3 times in the hour and a half we were there. She was too busy flirting and taking shots with the people at the bar. She asked to refill our drinks once and disappeared to take more shots for 20 minutes. Thankfully one of the servers for the bottom half of the bar noticed my boyfriend and myself. I wish I had gotten her name so I could rave about her. She was the sweetest thing and made sure to make up for our lack of service prior.

Yelp
If you are planning on taking the Miller brewery tour in Milwaukee , this place is just down the street - though you should drive there after you buy your tour tickets. Too far to walk. Milwaukee is famous for its local bar/restaurant "joints" , and this was picture book perfect. . We had an hour to kill before our Miller tour and, when asked, the ticket agent told us about this place. This is one of those small places where locals gather and everybody knows your name. We ordered beers , all varieties from Miller of course, 2 Wisconsin cheese curd appetizers, and one pretzel bites appetizers with cheese dipping sauce. YUM. Enough for four adults to sustain us before the tour . A great find - local places like this are the absolute best! And who knew cheese curds were soooooo good?

Yelp
My sister came to town and wanted Wisconsin cheese curds. Spitfires delivered 837%! Ran out and they ran to make home made ones to make her experience AMAZING. This place is wonderful!

Yelp
We decided to give this a try as we heard the fish fry was good, also intriguing that it as a bit off the beaten path. Well, we got there to find a sign that read "no fish fry", what are the odds of that? We were hungry and stayed anyway. Not busy ( probably because of no fish fry), but a nice welcome from the bartender. He explained that the main cook was on vacation and the back up was sick, so they did not think they could deliver the quality without those two, actually a respectable explanation. The vibe was casual and friendly, beers were cold and order taken promptly. My husband loved his sandwich, turkey, bacon, cheese, perfectly grilled, hot crispy tater tots. I opted for a burger, good, but past the temp I requested and bacon a bit undercooked. Still we will come back at some point to try that fish fry.

Yelp
The previous bar in this building was scummy which made me hesitant to even go in. But my wife has been on a wing kick and when that happens...I wanna keep that going for as long as possible. Much different atmosphere and ambiance then the scummy pre- Spitfire days. Cool diverse crowd, clean, tastefully decorated, friendly waitress. My mild wings were good- could use a little more buffalo taste- but I will get them again. Plus with tater tots as an option, I am a happy customer. I will definitely return as an after work, kickback place. I also look forward to trying their burgers. $32 for two and worth it Update- the wings are only getting better!

Yelp
Best wet wings in the city hands down. Nice staff, fast food, comfy stools, a few tvs. What more could a wing a ling want?! Super stoked to have found this place and now have a new favorite wing place. I had the chili lime wings and they were super good. The blue cheese was really creamy and the fries were dope too!! I'll be back, I'm telling my friends and I'm gunna need bigger pants!

Yelp
Bartender scooped ice with her hand, enough said. Dive bars are fun but when they are over priced with poor service and average food, I avoid.

Yelp
Would not recommend this place if you are not a regular. We walked in the door (not a busy night as there were probably 3-5 regulars guys sitting at the bar) and no one spoke to us for 6 1/2 minutes. Not the bartender or any other employee. The regulars at the bar were typical regulars. We left. We are a biracial couple and wondered if it was a race thing? We don't know but that's what it felt like. We really thought we were going to give it (a second) but it was definitely a NO GO!! In fact I have left a previous review about a mistake on a previous order. All I have received are negative and very unprofessional comments about my review. Not one owner or customer service person even messaged me with concerns about my review. So much for customer service. If I could give it a zero, I would. Definitely. Would. Not. Go. Back!

Yelp
Wings are good. Nice size, cooked well. Moist in the middle, crispy on the outside. Service is awful. Good luck sitting outside on the patio and getting a waitress that even looks in your general direction. 15 or so different sauces for wings. Got 4x different kinds and couldn't tell which one was which. Understaffed. Bad service. Won't return. Too bad because the wings are good.

Yelp
We came in the other night to grab some food and a drink and when we walked in we were not even noticed in the slightest. It wasn't too busy and there were really no tables taken and just some people at the bar. Ended up going and sitting down at a table and after waiting a bit decided to go up to the bar to see if we had to order there or if there was a server. Anyways the bartender said there is a server and she should be there soon. Waited a little longer and she finally comes out and had a bit of an attitude as if we were a bother to her. Still optimistic we ordered an appetizer and food/drinks. The drinks came out and a bit later the mozzarella sticks came out-- super light, and clearly under-cooked to the point that the cheese wasn't melted inside and was more of still just a string cheese in an under-cooked wonton wrap. We were hungry an the server didn't come to check to see how they were so we sucked it up and ate it hoping that the rest of the food would be better. Fast forward to the food coming out. The chips weren't crispy and the burgers were cooked somewhat to order-- a little underdone but that seems to be the theme tonight.. And here is where the bacon comes in.... Bacon should not be put on a burger or really consumed at all when it is this under-cooked. We waited a bit to see if the server would come out to check on us but again she didn't, at this point just annoyed and unsatisfied the bacon was picked off and a prayer was said that the burger wouldn't be too bad due to the nearly raw pork that was just on it. After giving up and just deciding to give the food a shot, the server finally comes out closer to the end and asks us if we want out bill. That's when I mentioned the issues we had and she grabbed baskets and walked away with more attitude. She dropped the bill off where she quietly stated that she gave us 15% off. Note Ive worked in the service industry for over 13 years and don't like to complain because I try to factor in everything when dining out. This just seemed like a lazy effort from both the front and back of house. There are too many other choices in the area offering better quality food and service for this to be considered acceptable.

Yelp
Sweet corn fritters are amazing. Depending on the evening, service can be kinda slow. But all in all I like the place. Staff is nice, I love that they do Summerfest shuttle!

Yelp
Riddle me this: What do you get when you walk a block from home and indulge in the following with your husband: 18 wings, a side of fries, 6 miller lites, 1 Summer shandy, and a shot of makers mark? Answer: -$32, a Blackhawks win, a seat at the bar, and a pretty decent Monday night. Wing Lovers Unite: this is the spot. This isn't the 50 cent Wing Night place that slops some Franks on a slimey-skinned wimp wing and calls it a deal... It's the 50 cent Wing Night you're willing to wait for. Your stomach rumbles knowing your beauties are crisping up on the grill, post-fry. They're soaking in the flavor, and you're about to dive head first into a wing-induced euphoria, coupled with great ranch OR bleu cheese and carrot sticks OR celery. (yeah, you get to pick) When you pick your face up, covered in sauce and ranch and a chicken-y smile, you'll have a full belly and be 3 bucks poorer. THE FLAVORS. (Husband preaches on the Peach Heat, I'm sold on the Spicy Garlic. You've got options) See ya at the bar.
