Larry and Jesus helped with some fixes to our fence and gate yesterday and I can’t say enough great things about their work! Appreciate their knowledge and attention to detail—our previously sagging gate is better than new and works seamlessly now. Thanks for the extra effort, guys!!

I have to say....I'm sure glad I did not go by older reviews cuz something has changed there!! My project was perfect from the front end with Ed coming to take a look and then getting me the estimate within a day to Larry and Jesus who worked the job. They did everything they said they would do. Larry's wife was having some surgery the next day so Jesus came the second day and finished. I have a wonky steel farm, man gate that we rigged years ago so we could attach pickets. It was somewhat of a challenge to get it right with little to no gaps on each side. Jesus was a perfectionist and he cut pieces of wood like a puzzle to make it work and it is beautiful. The redwood pickets are AWESOME and thicker than the cedar I had. He also had to modify a slide lock so it would work with the new fence. Very happy customer!!!

Don't judge this company by old reviews. I just had them replace 200' of plastic 3 rail fence with a cedar 4 rail fence. It has 6x6 posts and 2"x6"x8' rails. I couldn't be more satisfied!

I don't know what kind of work they do because they don't know how to provide a timely or accurate quote. Took two weeks after Erin came out and three phone calls to get a quote sent. And then, they didn't even quote what I actually asked for. They potentially could have done three different houses between my neighbors and me.

Would give zero response due to the lack of providing a quote, stringing us along as if a quote was coming and Erin the sales girl didn't even know the types of fences they do, we had to drive her over 2 blocks to show her a fence they had completed. Nick could care less about getting back to us, this job is over 400 feet of fencing so I guess if your project is larger they may care and give you the decency of a quote. I'm glad I learned the character of the business up front, because I can't imagine spending thousands and getting this same service. Absolutely pathetic! After a "bomb-cyclone" effectively put our fence on the ground, Split Rail was amazing in getting our fence back up! This is my first experience with needing fence replacement and SRF made it as seamless as possible. Melissa was especially helpful getting the needed quotes to us and the owners on the other side of the fence.

Currently sitting in their yard waiting for someone to bring the materials I just purchased for my fence. There is no one here. The guy I gave the receipt to didn't know what he needed to get so he asked another guy via radio who came out of nowhere to come look at another paper I have to tell him again what I bought. He didn't greet me or anything, and then just left. The lady in the office was super nice and it's the reason why I gave them one star. They were sipped to call me a week ago with an estimate on install and I never heard from them. I'm only getting this fence here because it has to match otherwise I would not come back.

First off. The installer (most likely a sub contractor) and crew were awesome. Thorough and good craftsmanship. Our neighborhood requires 3 rail vinyl fencing, and they did a great job. The inner lining of 4x2 wire was installed very well so our little dog is secure. The management and communication of this company is abysmal. I asked so many times for updates and they blamed all delays on the sales person whom they said "no longer worked for the company." I paid 1/2 up front and suddenly 3-4 weeks turned into 8. I could get no response before, during or after the install to discuss the reasoning for a 5 week delay in our project. Upon installation and completion I got lots of communication from the installers, NONE from anyone else. I then got a call from 'accounting' and they requested the 2nd half of the payment. I said I would gladly remit payment when I got a call from a manager or someone higher up in the company. Turns out, they just charged my card and no call. it's been 7 weeks since they charged my card. Still waiting for the call (that will never come). DO NOT use this company if you have other choices, and you do.

A 2-day job...as we were told by SRF...has now passed 3 days. The crew didn't arrive the 1st day even close to the stated time frame. Day One demolition...no posts set. Day Two arrived late...again. Further prep...Posts finally set. "We'll finish 1st thing tomorrow. " Day Three (of a 2-day job)...Workmen didn't show up "1st thing"...They didn't show up AT ALL. Multiple phone calls to the company go to voice mail or get passed around. "You'll get a call back"...Nope! NO CALL BACK. Surely you'll want to find a different company to handle your fencing needs. MAYBE if you're a commercial account, you get the "guaranteed satisfaction" this company claims to offer.

I used the to put up a small fence at my house....it was like pulling teeth to get someone to call back and come out...but finally they did. I need a section of fence replaced at my work and since they are right down the road I figured I would call them again (I should have learned). Multiple calls later I finally I got a young man on the phone who said he'd show up Friday to take a look and give me an estimate. Then the kid calls back and asks if I can just send him pictures....I said no I'd prefer he come down (it's maybe a 15 minute drive). Needless to say he never showed up and no one has returned my calls for help. I've never had such a hard time spending money as I have had with this place.

They replaced our fence but they forgot to remove their temporary fence, so we've lost much of our backyard for several weeks, and they either don't return our calls (3+) or they say they'll remove their junk but then never show up (twice). Our backyard is full of orange plastic fencing and a bunch of metal posts driven into the ground. Multiple neighbors also called with no result. This company is completely incompetent and cannot be trusted to complete a job properly.

Get some customer training please...or fire manager and receptionist at this place. To get the warranty manager for Split Rail Fence at the Littleton location (Brandon St) to return calls was not happening. Even though as of now I have not heard from him (after two voice messages) I doubt I will here from him because they have their money!!! The receptionist was not very helpful she's more like a 'guard dog' for the location. She does not have the answers to questions even though she says she might help you. Even when I ask for the manager she wanted to know why? That is not her concern. I guess at this Split Rail Location the management wants to have a 'guard dog' answering the phone. Very different from the Dacano location. No more business from me and no recommendations from me.

After four phones calls back and forth & two different people. I finally got a hold of somebody to come out and do an estimate, I was given a date and a time frame window. The time came and gone no-show and no call. It's my fault I should've paid attention to all the reviews here. When I called back the person that schedule the appointment,she had no notes on why nobody showed and wanted to reschedule. I said I will be going with somebody else.

NO, NO, NO! Customer Service is lacking big time! The receptionist raised her voice at me for calling because my sales person didn't call me back! When I did finally hear back from the sales guy he told me not to call him...I had to call the scheduling guy to work out issues!! What? Some of the crew that came to my house were nice, but they had no uniform...no shirt with the company's name...nothing. I felt sorry for the crew to work with this company!! My very simple 100 ft of fence took over 3 months....my sales guy ordered the wrong fence so I had to wait an extra 6 weeks!! The parts (screws and joints) that connected the fence were a different color than I ordered. Their solution was to SPRAY PAINT the fence pieces to match. What? Unorganized and Unprofessional! Disappointing to say the very least!!!! Do NOT recommend!!

I had a home built by DR Horton and they contracted Split Rail Fence to build my fence. I wanted to have wire mesh installed in the fence and was told to contact Split Rail Fence to have it done. I attempted to get ahold of them for over three weeks. Each time, I was either transferred to someone's voicemail or the person that answered the phone took down my information and said that someone would contact me later. I never heard anything from them. My realtor was finally able to get in touch with someone there and it took them another week after that just to send me a quote for the wire mesh. Their pricing was insanely high ($840 for about 180 feet of wire mesh) so I decided to install it myself for about $200. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

I needed to repair my fence and I went to all the big box stores in my neighborhood and they didn't carry the fencing materials I needed. Somebody told me about split rail.. When I walked in I was greeted by Tina with a big smile and asked how she could help. I told her what I needed and she wrote the order up and sent me out to the yard. I was met by a yard employee and he directed me to the lumber I needed. He loaded up my car with my ordered while he chatted. Very nice guy.. I will be back next week for more lumber. Everything I got there was straight and usable.

It has been a while now and I thought the poor workmanship would get better with time. Or at least sting less for what we paid for a "professional install". It did not! My install was a small job for this large company and they made me feel just like that. They used a sub contractor to accomplish the install and I am not sure this company had ever even seen a fence before. Based on the lines and pickets looking like a mountain range. I wish I would have taken the time to do it myself. I have never installed a cedar fence before, but I know I could have installed a better fence then these so-called professionals. I will never use this company again and I always make the attempt to tell everyone that ask how horrible we were treated and how poor the install went/looks. Those that are reading remarks: Please do your research before you ask this company to install something you will have beside your residence for a long time to come. Horrible experience! Especially for the money we paid! Thanks for the attempt, Money Wasted!

They don't answer their phones and are closed on random days during their advertised business hours. I have tried to go their 4 times during their regular business hours. 2 times they were closed, another time I was totally ignored, fourth time I got someone to help me. I'm looking for a different fence company.

So for the past year I've continued to use Split Rail for miscellaneous fence and gate repairs however moving forward I can no longer give them my business. I've spent four weeks just trying to get someone out to my property to give me an estimate on a gate repair. Each time I call the receptionist continues to have the attitude like I've just interrupted her favorite soap. Additionally, the heavy sigh before she actually transfers me is starting to wear me out. My recommendation is to move on to another fence company if you are needing any kind of fence or gate installations or repairs. Now, does anybody have a recommendation on a fence company in the Parker area?

Split Rail installed a fence a couple of months ago since then I have had several repair request. I have asked Split Rail Fence to swap the locking mechanism because as it currently sits, the locking latch is facing the alley. It completely defeats the purpose of a locking latch if anyone can walk up from the alley and "unlock" the gate. After explaining the situation the response I got was to "buy a lock" and lock it from both sides. Excuse me, I did not just pay thousands of dollars for a fence to be told to "buy a lock." The next excuse I received was that if the lock is switched to it's original position it will not allow me to close the fence. Uh, really? It seems the manager isn't familiar with physics or common sense. Of course it's going to lock if you switch the mechanism. The installation took forever and only after several reminders from me that I had already paid half the cost for installation. The fence was installed uneven and I had to have them come out and straighten it. I had to call to have my gates swapped and although the gates were swapped the locking mechanism wasn't and now I'm going through this headache. I also called them many times and heard no response. The only reason I had Split Rail install it was because I went through the Home Deport for their people to arrange it. Worst decision ever. My best advice is to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau if you're having difficulties with this company.

We just called them for an estimate of 26' of vinyl 6' privacy fencing (. We were quoted at just a little under $1000. I checked Lowe's and they have similar vinyl fencing priced at a total of $250. Very surprised. Can you say monopoly.

I wish i could give ZERO stars. My gf called to get an estimate and they seemed nice, but talked her into a $150 charge/deposit for the estimate! They came out and looked at the fence and gave a crazy high bid. All the while the website says FREE ESTIMATE???

Let's just say customer service is not Split Rail's middle name. We needed an iron fence for our house and had previously received an astonishing estimate from one of Split Rail's competitors so we needed a more affordable alternative. When I first called, I asked how long it would take to have my fence created(welded?manufactured?). Five days. So then, I placed my order at which point the five day estimate was now three weeks. (-1) Fence did arrive two weeks and two days after order was placed (+1) Got an unapologetic call, "we need to deliver your fence Monday due to weather "(-1) Fence arrived short 12 "brackets" and with four of the wrong bracket variety. All you need to know is that we paid for (late)delivery and we did not receive a complete order (-1) Fence also had much visible damage, including chipped paint in multiple places (-1) Wifey had to go to Split Rail to pick up missing items (-1) When I arrived, Joe greeted me. He asked how long it had taken for me to come down. I replied, "25 minutes". "Ahh that's not too bad" said Joe to which I replied, "each Way" -- awkward silence -- "So, how does the fence look?" he says "Um, has a lot of chipped paint... you all might want to think about your quality measures" -- intensely awkward silence "Cathy will be right with you" So I *paid* Cathy for the extra parts that were not delivered for which I had to drive an hour to pick up. Would I get a fence from Joe again? There aren't too many options, so I would say perhaps, begrudgingly. But I think they need to dig deep and think through their customer service strategy. There may not be too many iron fence options in this town. But there are some.

Absolutely terrible quality and service. They built a cedar fence just few years ago for house I then purchased. I dug around the posts recently after noticing the fence swaying; come to find out they only poured concrete at posts to 12" below grade and had inconsistent concrete tops sloped to the posts. Not at all to industry standards. Their teams are either incompetent or intentional in installing incorrectly. Complete decay/rot of the posts (see imagery) because of them. Split Rail was unprofessional, continually ignored me, and ultimately unhelpful for any support where I tried to compromise. Found this issue on other jobs; they will cut corners and skimp on quality. Beware of Split Rail's low bid proposals, there is a reason they come in low and you'll pay more in the long run. In addition, their salesmen will advertise "1 year warranties" but not have official warranty forms with proposals. They seem to source low quality new cedar wood pieces before they have all their natural resistant/decay properties. You'll still have issues even with staining and protecting as you should. Lot of issues with this Company. Look elsewhere for any fence needs.

I just wanted to take a minute to write a review for Split Rail. We had a PVC (vinyl) fence installed 4-5 years ago, each and every year we had a panel 'blow' out. Each year I called to have it repaired and let them know that considering the high cost of the fence we should not be having these issues. A few months ago, another blowout, then another. After numerous calls to various departments I finally called the President who explained that the company had been bought and that they were taking steps to have complaints addressed. Within the week the Manager of Training, Jeff Erhart, called me and said that he and the Superintendent of Installation, Josh Leonard, would be out to go over the entire fence. Today was that day, not only did they replace several panels that were not correctly, they added handles to the gates and adjusted them so that they were easier to open! If you have had problems it the past with Split Rail please take a moment to call them (be nice they will help), explain the situation and give them the chance to make it right!

Helping my friend repair massive damage to her irrigation system. They pointed out one spot but kept building the fence over it anyway...so had to take the fence down to try to repair. They even cemented a broken pipe right into the post base, sticking right up!

We purchased a new home and used Split Rail Fence Company to build a fence for our yard that conforms to the HOA requirements. They were fast, friendly, professional, and did an amazing job. They really stand by their work as we ran into an issue with needing to move the fence. They worked with us every step of the way, explained our options, and helped us arrive at the best resolution. Most importantly this company cares about their work and their clients. Throughout the entire process we felt that we were in good hands with them, and we were. Cannot recommend highly enough!!! Connor was amazing and we are so thankful that he was there fore us!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! Just to start, they will keep your credit card on file instead of deleting it as they are asked. They never ask permission or tell you they're keeping the info. When you first sign up to get a fence they make you leave 50% deposit which is understandable. But they write your card number down instead of running it right away. Also don't tell you they keep the info. So you get to wonder for over a week why the money hasn't been taken out. Fast forward to 4 months later, they still haven't called to collect the rest. You get LouAnn calling you multiple times during the day, even after you tell her you work at an emergency hospital and can't answer. She basically harasses you. She doesn't answer when you call even during normal business hours. You tell her that she absolutely can not charge the card on file because the account has been compromised. She writes down a different card number incorrectly, of course it doesn't go through, so she just goes ahead and runs the other card anyway. Now you're facing fees because the account shouldn't be used. Thanks LouAnn. Oh and also she sends emails that are extremely rude and unprofessional. You reach out to a different employee because you've reached your limit. Told you will receive a call from the owner the next day. No call. We are in a new development and I will make sure to let everyone know to use a different company. LouAnn is horrible and had no customer service skills.

Was very satisfied with Split Rail. Not only did they beat the competition in price but in service and quality as well. There was a miss-understanding and Carlos McCuskey was quick to respond and solve the problem. The fence looks beautiful.

Complete rip off. I requested a price from home depot, they are a subcontractor for them. Quoted me $31 a foot!!! Lol without even come out to my property. Got a price 60% lower from 2 different companies!!

Very satisfied with the work. Melissa was great to work with. She gave me many options and pricing and is excellent with communication. I have heard in the past that this company has very high prices.. I would disagree based on other estimates I received. The quality workmanship and quick turnaround of the product/service was exceptional. My recommendation would be to call Melissa and have her meet with you. Very satisfied client and would definitely not hesitate to use and refer split rail fence company

At first we were sceptical about considering Split Rail Fence Company because of the low ratings and the fact that they closed Dacono location but I have to say we were so impressed not only with the quality and price of their fence but the excellent service in the office and out in the yard as well !! You can't get better quality than here...

The team at Split Rail Fence Company built our family a beautiful split rail fence. The build and quality was top notch, and they were very easy to work with. The pricing was right on target, and I would recommend them.

Called them to ask for a quote. After 22 minutes and 4 different people who all they said was "please hold a minute" and one person who asked a couple of questions and said I will right back to you, I asked to talk to the manager, I explained the situation and my frustration in a very polite and professional way. Explained the reason I was not interested anymore on doing business with them. She said she was sorry and hung up on me while I was talking to her. I never wrote a bad review and wanted to give them an opportunity to improve by giving them productive feedback. Instead of that the manager felt hurt and cut off the call. If this is how they treat a possible customer, I don't think they will treat you much better once they have your money and there is a problem with the fence. I hope the marketing and sales team read this review and they improve customer service. Thank you, Diego

They are sophomoric at best, very un-knowledgable and very difficult to deal with. No wonder why out of 63 reviews they only have 2 stars, the ones that gave them 5 stars must work for them. these reviews should have 0 to negative stars on them, giving them the minimum 1 star is a disgrace to 1 star ratings

Filled out the online estimate form. Took them 9 DAYS to respond. Took another ENTIRE BUSINESS WEEK of back and forth emails with a lady named Autumn to actually get the quote. 1 email each day. Funny because she was able to read them all immediately. I have a 20ft fence with 5 posts and 1 gate. I was quoted $3200.00. YES I SAID $3200.00. 3 other business' came in at HALF THE PRICE. The reviews seem to back up the fact that their customer service is horrible. They can now add ABSURD PRICING to their list of issues. DON'T EVEN BOTHER GETTING A QUOTE!!!!!!!!! STAY AWAY!

From estimate to completion, they exceeded my expectations. Terrific team. Alan, the new owner, actually came to our home and thanked me for our business. I simply cannot recommend them enough. Autumn and Jeff bailed me out of a tough spot with the HOA. They went way above and beyond to help get this job completed. Good people who delivered a good product on time. Doesn't get better than that.

Submitted the form for an online quote and no one ever contacted me. I guess they don't need the business.

It took two weeks for them to come out for a quote, even though I already had measurements for them. They promised the estimate a few days after that, but now it's been another week and they've been unresponsive. I'm not sure how their finished product is, but their customer service and communication seemed similar to all of the other negative reviews.

Scheduled an appointment to have their sales rep, Chris, come out and just give me an estimate. We scheduled for during the business day to be easier on his schedule, and then he had the audacity to cancel my appointment literally 10 minutes before we were supposed to meet. The very definition of rude. Wouldn't recommend.

Zero stars should be an option. We called for an estimate on fence repair and staining vs new fencing. The salesperson recommended that we do the repair and staining. Now she's saying they don't do fence repairs, only power washing and staining. Their work doesn't match their contract, promises, or price.

Split Rail has been owned by Tom Barenberg since 1974 and you would think that with their history it would be THE go to place. But, me thinks not!! I drove 70 miles one way on a Saturday to look at their inventory. They only have cheesy pictures. Then my buddy asked if I thought that the grumpy dude at the desk was suffering from the night before. Well, yeah! Since I pretty much knew what I wanted and could pay the $45.00 (or possibly more!) per foot price for 150 feet, I left my contact info and was told to expect a call from Bill on Monday or no later than Tuesday. Monday rolled by and then Tuesday rolled up to 4:30 p.m. So I called to see if, or when, I could expect to get the call. The nasty lady on the phone said she "could not tell me if or when I would get a call." So I said "thank you," and hung up. That night Bill called and left a message that it was him and his number. Now I don't expect or make business calls at night, so I called the next morning only to get a messaging device. I left my name and number again. Well, guess what? No return call Wednesday, Thursday or Friday. On Friday, around 4 p.m. I called to ask for a manager, which the now really nasty lady fired off twenty questions. I said I'd rather talk the matter over with the owner which really hit her hot button. So I got a messaging device that was for the owner. I left my name and number. Guess what??? Bill called again in the evening hours and left a very terse note that he had "returned" my call. Customer service is nonexistent, employees are all in "cover your a**" mode, and their prices are excessive. Who knows what Tom knows. All I know is...save your money and split from this place. It should be renamed Third Rail Fence.

Called to get an estimate for a commercial fence installation and had to leave a message. 24hrs later with no return call so I called again. Was told they're 24-48hrs out just to return calls and I left another message. Another 24hrs later and still no return call so I called again. Was told this time that they're 2-3 days out just to return calls. No thank you - I'll be taking my business elsewhere. Who runs a business like this?

Rudest sales people I can remember in a long time. They have absolutely no interest in dealing with retail customers and treat you like dirt unless you are in the trades. The places was empty and the front sales desk staff had no interest in helping me, than made a comment about me as I was leaving. Maybe as a contractor they are better than their supply staff, but where their is smoke their is fire.

I would love to give this place negative stars. Called multiple times, left messages and filled out the online form and no response. I called the number listed online and was put in touch with a rude snotty receptionist, who transferred me to this Leo persons voicemail who never returns phone calls. This place can take a hike. I'm in a new neighborhood with HOA mandatory spilt rail type fencing, I have a big mouth and this place will not be getting any referrals. Check out Lowes fence install, they are fast and cheaper.

I just called their office in Dacono, CO and NOT FRIENDLY AT ALL. You would think that they would want business, but guess not. Very rude too and not helpful. I would seriously go with someone else...don't pick these guys. If that is how their attitude is over the phone and they don't want to help...imagine how they'll be if something goes wrong with the fence or anything else. NO THANK YOU!

USE SOMEONE ELSE FOR YOUR FENCING NEEDS*** ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- My husband and I had to submit 5 different requests for quotes on their website and FINALLY after 2 weeks of trying they got back to us. The woman I spoke with, Samantha Day, confirmed 12pm with me ( I still have the email) and when it was 1:45pm and no one had come, I had to call and she said the apt she saw for me was 2:30pm, after I had already called to see what the heck was going on. Which is NOT what was confirmed. THEN when Brock finally came, he quoted me almost $7000 for 198 feet of fencing. My neighbor was quoted almost $500 for stain for a bigger yard yet I was quoted $1,102.86 for a much smaller yard??!!! How the he** does that happen??? Then when I was very clear that I thought the price was absurd he left my house abruptly with a very rude demeanor and clearly could care less if I accepted his service. I asked around and my other neighbors said they had similar experiences with split rail and were all incredibly upset with the time they wasted with them. People talk you know, especially when you quote a whole neighborhood of houses. I'll NEVER use Split Rail and I will MAKE SURE I pass on my story and my recommendation to use a different fencing company. Start looking at your reviews and fix your customer service and STOP taking advantage of the time of year and people's needs for fencing in the area!

Found split rail fence via the Internet. I immediately liked them for the quick and easy form on the side bar that says for a free estimate. I received a curt response from Bill Ehli stating they do not provide free estimates. I went back to their website and verified the form says free estimates and the text on the front page says free installation and repair estimates. Won't be using them as I don't trust them now.
