Spoonfull Thai Kitchen & Bar - Review - Seattle - The Infatuation

"Ballard has a new Thai restaurant that features classics like pad thai, yellow curry, and crispy cashew chicken. You’ll also find limited specials like kow man kai served the first week of the month and guay jub served during the fourth week. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Team Infatuation

SpoonFull is a Thai food restaurant on Ballard Ave in the downtown/old Ballard area. Parking around here can be fine on most weekdays or awful on weekends. They have a large indoor area with 2 rooms that has probably 2 dozen tables and a few tables outside under an awning. Their menu is a good size, with prices being higher but because their portion sizes are bigger. The taste of their food is fantastic, with spice levels being on the higher end of the scale (think 2 stars as being about their halfway mark). The staff here are amazing, very friendly and helpful and always around getting you what you need. Overall it's a solid spot to eat with big portions and great service.

I took out dinner on a Monday evening. I got the Thai basil fried rice with pork which was pretty tasty and flavorful. I will definitely recommend that. I also got the chicken green curry which was pretty tasty as well. I got medium spicy so turned out a little mild and should have taken the 🔥. Overall a nice place but given the location I assume parking would be painful on a weekend.

I've been here three times now - Once for lunch and twice for dinner and the food and drinks are always amazing. The food really shines; it's one of my fav Thai places now. Drinks are also great, and they have bottomless mimosas on the weekend lunch/ brunch. Service has been fantastic all three times - never waiting, prompt refills, and super clear communication when I have questions on dishes. I personally love the crab delight and the prik king pork belly is phenomenal

Best Thai foods in Seattle, the trout salad was insanely good. Big portions, super friendly staff. And very chill outdoor space.

Had a lovely brunch here on a rainy Sunday evening. The food was fantastic, and the host and servers were warm and welcoming. We ordered the noodles with a spice level of 4—slightly spicier than our usual preference, but it had a great kick and bold flavors. The food arrived quickly and was fresh. The happy hour meal, comes in a smaller plate size, but it is sufficient for one person.Overall, a great spot for a flavorful meal.

Google
Great portions, flavor profile and unique dishes for the seattle Thai scene. Tasty cocktails. Sorry only took a picture of the Smokey ‘old fashion’. In quotes because it was more of a Smokey Suntory whiskey on the rocks with a cherry. It was delicious.

We moved to Seattle a year ago and have been looking for good Thai food. This is our new favorite and come once a week. Great food and great outdoor patio for dogs (and people). Gluten free soy sauce if needed

New Thai restaurant in the neighborhood! This place is so flavorful and fresh. The staff is amazing. Everything was fairly priced and had great portions! Will definitely be coming back! Got the crab delights, spring rolls, crispy garlic chicken, Thai iced tea and pineapple fried rice

Yelp
Needed a place for 6 people to eat on a Wednesday afternoon so on a whim I chose Spoonfull. I called in advance, they took down a reservation, and we were seated immediately when we arrived. We were given an indoor and outdoor option, and I opted for patio since it was such a nice day, and the patio space is quite nice. We ordered Thai teas, spring rolls, and fresh rolls as appetizers. The Thai teas were delicious, and also a really large size! The rolls came out too. The fresh rolls held up to the freshness promised in their name, but I greatly enjoyed the spring rolls much more. As an entree I opted for the crispy garlic chicken. It was delicious! Once again, crispy as promised, and really well seasoned. Overall, I really enjoyed my food, the portion sizes were quite generous, and I'd recommend!

Yelp
Great happy hour! Spiked Thai Iced Tea: has markers mark so beware! lol. It's tasty, but also strong! Tom Kah: flavorful and definitely thick. Wish it had some tomato and onion but was still good with chicken and mushroom. Pad Thai: I ordered medium spicy, and it wasn't quite spicy enough. Very good overall and a little on the sweet side with the tamarind. Good size portion for happy hour. The staff are super friendly and the pricing is fair. Atmosphere is fine and cozy. Overall I would come back!

Yelp
Really lovely little place on our hunt for the best pad Thai in Seattle. We stopped in on a Wednesday night and the place was by no means empty. Service was quick and friendly and food came out pretty fast as well. The crab delight was top notch, perfectly crispy and with a tasty plum sauce. Spring rolls were decent but not as flavorful as others. Pad Thai was nice, very saucy and on the sweet side. Two stars was enough to feel the heat but not over power. Pad see ew looked tasty as well. Will happily come back here for our next Thai cravings

Yelp
Was looking for some cozy food on a chilly night and remembered hearing that a new Thai restaurant had opened up nearby. It's right on Ballard Ave so the location is great for people strolling and shopping around. I came on a Sunday early evening and sat down right away. Luckily they have daily happy hour with a lot of options! My dining partner and I both got the honey thyme cocktail which was delicious! Then we shared a few of the dishes on the HH menu. I loved the potstickers and the soup. It was soo flavorful. We also had the cashew chicken which came with some rice. Definitely recommend it! The service was also very friendly and quick. Looking forward to another visit here in the near future!

Yelp
Enjoyed the food, the service and the drinks. We can't wait to be back. We had tom kha, cashew chicken and yellow curry. Everything tasted great. Wish there was more meat in the cashew chicken but other than that, food was delicious. We had juan special and the flaming drink and both were amazing. Juan special was smokey while the flaming drink was more fruity and spicy. Totally recommend both.

Yelp
We came here after going to breweries during the day and we're completely satisfied by the great food and amazing service! Our waitress Fame had amazing recommendations and brought us some fabulous cocktails! I wish I had remembered to take pictures of the food, but the Tom kha gai soup and the larb gai were both phenomenal! I would also highly suggest the Thai iced tea cocktail and the rosemary drink! I will be coming here time and time again!

Yelp
This is Khao Soi Chicken from Spoonfull! It's the true authentic flavor of Chiang Mai! From the rich, creamy curry broth to the perfectly tender chicken, every bite transported me back to the bustling streets of Northern Thailand. The balance of flavors is exceptional, with a subtle heat, creamy coconut milk, and fragrant spices creating a harmony that warms your soul. The crunchy fried noodles on top add a delightful texture, while the fresh bean sprouts, red onion, lime, and cilantro bring a refreshing contrast to the dish. Each element works perfectly together, making it a complete and satisfying meal. If you're craving *real Northern Thai cuisine*, I highly recommend trying this. It's like a little piece of Chiang Mai in every spoonful! Absolutely delicious, don't miss it! Friendly service, cool ambiance with a nice bar, and excellent drinks. A great experience overall!

Yelp
Ok, fellow Ballardians, we have a new Thai takeout go-to. This place is awesome. Generous portions, very fresh tasting, and flavorful. I've eaten in the restaurant once and done takeout once, and I thought the food was terrific both times. Very friendly service also.

Yelp
I got food poisoning here from the won ton soup. I also ordered a margarita with a non-well tequila, and they added ten dollars to the price of the drink. Also we had to wait over a half an hour to get water after arriving. There were no healthy appetizers offered. Everything on the appetizer menu was deep-fried. The two huge TV screens showing Polynesian football ruined any ambiance the place could have had. Save your stomach. Skip this place.

Yelp
We ordered the spring rolls, Pork with peanut sauce, chicken with cashews and a chicken dish I can't remember the name of lol. Everything was delightful! The portions were perfect, the staff was wonderful and the food was just what we were hoping for.

Yelp
Best Thai in Seattle!!!! I have lived in Seattle for years and finding this spot was a game changer. This is truly one of the best kept secrets in Ballard! The food, service, and environment is so good! My favorite order is chicken pad Thai, spring rolls, and a Diet Coke!! The food is consistent and truly my favorite spot in Seattle! Service is so important and every time I go the entire team is so kind and on top of everything.

Yelp
The pad thai was pretty average, but the service made up for it! The servers were attentive, quick, and had a great sense of humor. They even offered to package up doggy bags, which was a nice touch.

Yelp
Just had lunch here and it was great! The yellow curry was really good. Our waitress was very attentive and kind, I enjoyed my experience. A little on the pricier side but I had a lot of leftovers.

Yelp
Very overpriced for the quality of food and the small portion. They are still new so I will probably give them another chance - but - $25 (with tax and tip) for a small lunch for one person is kind of outrageous.
