Where to Eat at Dollywood - Eater Nashville

"The aromas of freshly baked something-or-another permeate the park’s entrance where this full-service bakery sits mere steps within. Pastries, cookies, and the signature cinnamon rolls are just a few that adorn the bakery’s case. Though, it’s the whopping 25-pound apple pie folks clamor for — ordering by the 3-pound slice. And if you want to share the love back home, you can have a whole pie shipped to your door complete with a Lodge Cast Iron skillet." - Melissa Corbin

Spotlight Bakery in Dollywood is so worth a stop if you’re craving something freshly baked while in the park. I started my day with a plain croissant, and honestly? It was perfect. Flaky, buttery, and just what I needed as a little walking-around snack. I wasn’t expecting much, but it really surprised me. Later, as we were leaving the park, we decided to grab some of their famous cinnamon bread—definitely a Dollywood must-try. We got two kinds: one with icing (classic and delicious!) and another with apple butter. Here's where it lost a star for me: they charged almost $2 for a tiny 2 oz cup of apple butter... and it wasn’t even filled up all the way. You maybe get 1 oz if you're lucky. For that price, I expected at least a full serving. It just felt a little stingy, especially when the rest of the experience was so good. Still, overall the baked goods were amazing and lived up to the hype. I’d definitely go back, but maybe skip the apple butter unless they decide to give you what you actually paid for!

The Spotlight Bakery at Dollywood is one of our favorite places. The atmosphere is really nice, like an old time bakery. The selections are great with everything from a twenty-five pound apple pie to their famous cinnamon bread. The place is busy but the line moves very quickly and the service is friendly.

Krista Asp

Google
Delicious bakery treats such as cupcakes, cookies, and lemon tarts. They also have the famous 25 lb apple pie that Dollywood is famous for. This place is a definite stop when inside the theme park!

Google
Place was very good we got a cookie a whoopie pie and a cupcake!! Very good lines are long but with the wait 10/10

Google
Wonderful place to purchase cookies, muffins, cupcakes, Danish, brownies, cinnamon bread, and the biggest Apple pie I have ever seen. If you buy the whole pie, they give you the skillet it was baked in! They have made specialty items for the Flower & Food Festival, going on now through June 7th.

Theanie (Thenie)

Google
We spent $70 here. Every last thing we bought was stale and nasty! I wish we had eaten there instead of getting all the cupcakes and cookies to bring home to get our money back 😩

Meg Glass

Google
Smells amazing in this store. They make a 25 pound apple pie! Cinnamon bread is a big seller and so many varieties of cupcakes.

fatima magadan

Google
Terrible coffee Starbucks ! The girl she just put regular coffee, cream and cinnamon when we wanted a Pumpkin Spice Latte! The bread doesn’t taste good, in the pictures looks amazing! Sorry we like to try in different places.

Yelp
Good Golly, Miss Dolly! The problem with Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg is, is that there are so many things to do in so little time. It took me until after quite a few visits to finally commit a day to the infamous Dollywood. I'm a big theme park lover, and add country music, southern cookin' and Dolly Parton... I'm sold before I even walk through the door. If you're a big fan of roller coasters, boy are you gonna love this place. Just about any type of coaster, new or old, is at this park. Since we only had a day here, we splurged a bit on the timesaver passes (line-cutters for rides,) and it was worth it for visiting on Labor Day weekend. It was also surprisingly cheaper than what other big parks charge. Dollywood really has something for everyone, whether you are a thrill-seeker or just want to stroll around and eat some good food.

Yelp
Dollywood is a great experience! We had been but it's been years and it has changed, a LOT! As you might expect it is very clean and all the venues appear well maintained. Staff was very friendly and why not, you work in an amusement park! We got a few tips to be sure to try the Cinnamon Bread and the footlong CornDogs. Both excellent tips. They didn't mention that the fries that come with the CornDogs are also pretty amazing. There were so many things to do. Thrilling coasters of all sorts and levels, all the way down to pretty tame rides for the Toddler set. It is really helpful to get and use the app. You can follow wait times at the various attractions to get the most out of your day. We enjoyed seeing the displays about Dolly, her life and career too. The lights that had been installed for Christmas were spectacular and so of course, we perused the park after nightfall. I would absolutely return!

Yelp
I have been coming to Dollywood since I was a kid. It was always about the rides then, every kid wants to find the most exciting one and go over and over until they close up for the day. Went back with my friends and the Godson Caleb. He is autistic and Dollywood really goes above and beyond for accommodations. We strolled in at 11:30 and started to take in the fun. We made our way to the old downtown Sevierville model that represented the spots from Folly's youth. Since I worked in downtown Sevierville as manager for 7 years in an upscale restaurant this was fun to see the places that were there are slowly coming back with all the new modern touches. We started with the a coffee and headed off to get on the lightning rod; the fastest wooden roller coaster in the world. I would describe it as a ride in a fighter jet. It was up down upside down (I think), by the end I just screamed a lot. Thankful we did not go see my picture they offer at the end, it would e been fodder for my people. We toured the Dolly museum that walks you through her life, where she got her start and all the outfits she wore on stage for all the years, a large VR experience in one room showed Dolly performing as if you were in the audience. Definitely check it out. We stopped for a bluegrass show from the Mountain Highway Band. They were a great ensemble and interacted with the crowd and brought it to life. Had a pork belly and roasted potato appetizer and it was amazing. Then off to get Caleb on the carousel, he had been before and got really excited when he saw the horses bobbing up and down. It was fun and although still dizzy from the coaster, I made it just fine. Next we were off to relax in the autism accessibility center. It was a quiet place with comfortable seats, games to play and bubble wall for soothing sounds and plenty of stuffed animals for him to toss around. He galavanted around and loved every minute of the interactive wall with every sensory gadget imaginable. As an adult, I must admit I enjoyed it too ha! We headed off to wildwood grove, a sprawling kids area that is more suited for summer and cooling off in the water playground we'll call it. We went to the Parton family Christmas show. It was cool to see bc the last time I saw it, I was a young Junior in High School dating Dollys 2nd cousin. Little did I know, we went into the dressing room to meet Dolly. She really is as nice as everyone says. So happy and full of joy and just a beautiful person. I just couldn't believe how tall I was or how short she was. The show was great and had a Christian Christmas theme which is so refreshing in a time where the world has gone backwards. We headed out and went on a food rampage from Buffalo chicken topped gig back potato to the famous cinnamon bread, to Jambalaya. All were great options! They had a coffee shop and we had one get a Cappuccino cupcake. I wanted ice cream, but really would do better in the summer months. We winded up to check out the big bear rollercoaster too and the lines were shorter for it. It was a perfect day and it was like living a hallmark movie. Definitely don't miss Christmas at Dollywood and they always shoot off fireworks every night at dark!

Yelp
Ambiance: Southern/Mountain -inspired amusement park in Pigeon Forge with an extensive amount of activities for all ages. Most of the ride attractions are rollercoasters - we loved the Fire Station ride! Not a ton of smaller thrill rides. Handful of kids rides in a child-friendly area of the park. Very clean, parking is easy with transit buses. We tried the cinnamon bread (7/10!). Friendly staff. Lots of cool shops with merch, art, & items that are not just related to the Dollywood theme. Decent ride wait times - I think the longest we waited was around an hour for one of the big coasters. We enjoyed the bird show and all of the shows/music options. There is also a Doggywood kennel where you can board your pets for the day. A bit pricey for being a smaller theme park but overall I would give Dollywood 8/10 stars! Great for families, couples, friends of all ages. Just enough to do to spend an entire day but not feel overwhelmed. Multiple food stalls & places to eat (The sit down restaurants do have large wait times!). There is an arcade area and a few attractions that revolve around Dolly Parton. I loved seeing her outfits on display! I think Dollywood is a must visit if you're in the area.

Yelp
Dollywood is amazing! I went at the beginning of the Christmas season so it was aglow with holiday magic. We enjoyed the shows, especially Heidi Partons a Christmas to remember. The mistletones were great too! I was able to find a lot of cute Christmas decorations.. pricey but worth it. The food and treat were delicious too. Taking a ride on the Dollywood express, a coal fired train was pretty neat too.

Yelp
The best theme park in America. This is an exceptional theme park. It is incredibly family friendly, allergy friendly and wonderful. Most places have an allergen menu, and peanut signage at the door. Food is incredible, flavorful. The people are friendly everywhere. There was zero lines for any rollercoasters and an assortment of rides for my one year old to enjoy and some for us to do as a family. For nursing moms there's a mothers room, comfortable and clean with attached bathrooms. I cannot recommend Dollywood enough and I look forward to coming back. Only down side was there were plenty of bees to avoid.
google avatar

Maream S.

Yelp
We visited Dollywood during Xmas time. The lights and decorations were 2nd to none. The rollercoasters were awesome but the lines were long! I highly recommend purchasing the fast pass if you want to ride all the coasters without standing in line all day. We didn't get to ride the train because you had to wait in line at least one hour prior to departure. Lots of waiting and some overpriced food but all things to be expecting at a Theme park. We enjoyed our visit, I have a 12 and 14 year old and they loved it too.

Yelp
I had been here when I was younger so I was curious to go back decades later. The park is clean and very beautiful. The theming is consistent and enjoyable. Other pluses- one of the nicest theme park bathroom I've ever seen, a variety of coasters, special festivals. I went on the last day of the Christmas celebration. The weather wasn't the best so a lot of the rides/coasters were closed. I think the variety of rides at Disney- like all the dark rides that are fun for all ages has me spoiled a bit. The shows I saw were good; there is strong religious tones throughout the park and it was evident in the Christmas shows: The coal train is a highlight of the park. I rode twice- in daytime and after dark to see the lights. Both were fun. You will end up smelling like smoke and likely have cinders in your hair and maybe your eyes! I remember enjoying the food when I was younger. This time, the options and prices weren't appealing. The cinnamon bread had a huge amount of undissolved sugar crystals so it was crazy sweet. The signs for the trolley to go back to Patriot Park were confusing in the dark, especially because it had started to rain. The Dolly exhibits kind of seemed like after thoughts. I don't know if I'd pay the steep price to return here. It might be worth it if you do all the big rides, but I feel that could be difficult if there is any decent sized crowd. There's a lot of walking for a limited amount to do.

Yelp
Came here during my trip to pigeon forge Always clean , the coasters are amazing and most important my kids had a blast on the rides they could ride Highly recommend especially during the holidays the entire park is lit up. The train ride with kids is worth the wait make sure you do that

Yelp
My husband surprised me with a "Dollywood VIP Tour" gift and my "Dolly Parton Experience" was as big as one of Dolly's wigs! When we arrived at Dollywood, we were greeted by Camryn, our sweet and very knowledgeable guide. At my request, she walked us around the entire park! She then knew that my happy place would be inside the Dolly Parton Museum (the "crown jewel and anchor" of our experience). A HUGE butterfly greeted us at the museum, and inside, we followed Dolly"s own story of her life. She described her childhood in the Smoky Mountains and ended with her life achievements. I loved my "Wardrobe Experience", seeing fifty years worth of Dolly's signature gowns, costumes, wigs and accessories. Camryn made sure that we saw the highlights. Here is where I got to see Dolly"s coat of many colors and many real items from her childhood home. There were so many costumes from Dolly's career. Ones from "The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas" and "9 to 5" were so fun to see. Dolly"s wigs, little high heels and jewelry were wonderful too. After the museum, at Camryn's suggestion, I rode on the Big Bear Mountain roller coaster, the longest ride in Dollywood history. Its sharp twists and turns definitely gave me "tummy feeling of zeros Gs"! We then visited the many shops where I found a Dollywood memento. This was a day that I will always remember. I'm so grateful that my generous husband made me a VIP for the day and that we spent it with Camryn! The VIP Tour highlights included: -Complimentary preferred parking -Collectable lanyard -Front-of-the-line access to all attractions -Reserved premium seating at participating shows -Complimentary meal

Yelp
It was my perfect birthday surprise. We caught the tram from the parking lot C and it drops you off closer to the entrance. We had online tickets and it was a quick scan. We were immersed in the world of Dolly Parton and her family. The park smelled wonderful between the greenery and cinnamon bread. We took a picture as soon as we arrived and then downloaded the Dollywood app. The app is fabulous and provides live directions as we explored the park. I was sad I missed the summer drone show but I was impressed by all the pumpkin arts and crafts in addition to the oversized pumpkins. We enjoyed exploring her museum and learning about her humble beginnings. The park overall was super clean including the restroom despite the number of people. I will definitely be coming back for Christmas.

Yelp
What an amazing day. This was a great amusement park with something for everyone. Food, beautiful scenery, shopping, shows and of course the rides. Parking 25.00, tram service to entrance, well maintained park with friendly staff. The best part was this is very family friendly, wholesome fun and no sketchy people walking around. We are going to get season passes

Yelp
It was a little windy and started out chilly But warmed up to a decent temperature We found a hotel that was only 9 minutes away so started our morning having the buffet at Song & Hearth A southern eatery Next door at Dollywood's DreamMore Resort (free parking) and a filling menu Then off to the park I'd ordered our tickets online beforehand (Veterans Discount) was very nice treat and lots of handicapped parking there's also mobility scooters available for rent if needed The lights were not lacking the park was lit up up all over and there's a couple new Dolly Experiences they also moved her old tour bus over to make room the courtyard seems really huge A few rides were not going because of the weather but we expected that and we're happy with the coasters we got to ride The food was also great we once again did the Tasting pass and had some great foods The Pork bell, The Turkey, The Gumbo were 3 that really stick out It was a long day and we only made it to 7 pm then we hit the town for a sit down dinner after a long day of fun

Yelp
We loved Dollywood everything about . Just make sure you call and ask if all rides are running , when we went we did not get the full experience due to a lot of the rides closed shut down maintenance or understaffed not fair to patrons! And no refunds you just loose out !
google avatar

Christina A.

Yelp
One of the best amusement parks I've been too. The food is amazing! They also provided a lot of shad and misters throughout the park to keep you cool. Ride waits weren't terrible we were able to get through rides quickly. Also, lots of shows and walk through to also get out of the sun that tell you about Dolly's life.

Yelp
First time in the Smoky Mountains and thrilled to death to go to Dollywood! Husband did not share my enthusiasm but he was a good sport haha. Nestled in the majestic Smoky Mountains is this gorgeous theme park. How fortunate we were to be here during Dollywood's Flowers and Food Festival which is going on now until June 9, 2024. Gorgeous huge mosaicultures, stage shows and a colorful "Umbrella Sky" all so neat! Flowers galore. Everything has a story. Very family friendly plus some really fun adult roller coasters. My husband did not go on any rides, to my utter disappointment, but he was happy to see me enjoying the coasters. I went on 5 coasters, the Tennessee Tornado one twice. The Eagle was fun. The Mystery Mine was fast. The Dragonflier was the BEST. It went upside down a few times and your feet dangled, a real adrenaline rush. The Blazing Fury was more of a Junior roller coaster with a fire theme but it had three sudden unexpected drops and went pretty fast. There was an eagle sanctuary in the park that was very fascinating to see. Plenty of country music and beef brisket food throughout the park. This is a very happy and colorful place, probably the best theme park I've been to as an adult.

Yelp
Dollywood's staff is friendly & helpful. Lots of food choices, shows, good for the whole family. Those who have issues physically, should use the handicap wheelchairs as there is a lot of walking which includes lots of high hills and descents. The restrooms are all neat and clean all times of day. They have rides for all ages & characters for the little ones. There are times when some shows are not playing or a ride may be down. Check Dollywood's web site for times and changes.

Yelp
Dollywood was great!!! My two kids are under three, so while there weren't too many rides they could ride in, there was still rides for them. Dollywood had something for everyone and I just loved it! While I didn't have the time to go through Dollywood fully, because I was with my husband's Great Uncle who rented a scooter, we still had such a fabulous time!!! And, my husband's Great Uncle lost his wallet there and we looked at Dollywood's website, which stated to send in an email and that they would contact us soon. Anyway, they contacted my husband's Great Uncle to state that his wallet was found and to pick it up before 730p, as they were closed Tuesday's & Thursday's. When he got to this business, all of his money and cards were intact! Thank you Dollywood and the honesty of the person who found his wallet!! Anyway, Dollywood is one of a kind and there's something for everyone!!! Go if you have a chance to go! You won't regret it!

Yelp
We absolutely love Dollywood! It was beautifully decorated for Christmas and going at night time to see all the lights is a must see! My daughters wanted to ride so we didn't get to watch the shows, but when we walked by them, they seemed awesome! The cinnamon bread was delicious!
google avatar

Yelp
I have always been interested Dollywood and on a recent road trip I was finally able to take my family and we had a blast! It was the perfect combination of value and family fun. Plus, the new Dolly Parton Experience was amazing and very well done. Check out our video of the day here: https://youtu.be/w-PZBIi32_0

Yelp
Dollywood is a joy. Theme parks have this magical aura to them. They will make you feel little again for a day. I have been to Dollywood a handful of times and every time I go it's a blast. If you're a fan of coasters make sure to make a stop. The Tennessee Tornado is on my top 5 list of coasters. Not only do they have rides for the extreme heads, but they also have plenty for the weak of heart. But now let's talk about the food! Dollywood has some of the best theme park food I have ever indulged in. Try to go when they have a food festival! They bring out special items and most are yummy. If there's one thing you must try it's the cinnamon bread! They pop these babies out all year long. You will be taking loafs home! Remember to drench that baby in icing!
google avatar

Al B.

Yelp
We went to walk around and try food on the Harvest Pass and see the shows. All the shows over the weekend were not playing, which was a huge disappointment. Food wasn't great, a lot over cooked or just not a great taste. The cinnamon bread was amazing though 12/10 for that! Seems they are a bit under staffed right now and can't open a lot of attractions or booths til later. Luckily we weren't there for roller coasters because 2 of the main ones were down. The Halloween nights was well done and we did enjoy 2 train rides!
google avatar

Sydney H.

Yelp
I've been in my car for two hours waiting to even enter the parking then get to the stands and they say parking sales have been suspended. Drove three hours to get here to just sit in my car. Terrible experience
google avatar

Amber S.

Yelp
The best theme park ever. Coming from the heart of hospitality land in Florida, Dollywood does it better. Cleaner, more fun to walk through. Roller coasters are phenomenal and don't hurt you! No lines, no waiting (on a Monday). Friendly staff and dolly's touch everywhere. Her folly tribute section was incredible. She's a living legend and this place does it right.
google avatar

Celina B.

Yelp
We had such a fun time at Dollywood. We are from Florida and a Disney family so we had high hopes and were met with great surprise. We have two boys 10 and 3 and they both had a lot of fun. We rode rides, played games, got faces painted and ate! It was packed but the employees were all very nice, everything was clean and the food was great. Great, fun, family style atmosphere!!!! We went in mid December and the decorations were absolutely beautiful. Their adds say 6 million twinkling lights and I have zero doubt that they do have that many. Everything is lit up so perfectly. Great experience for my whole family.

Yelp
This place was soooo nice. If you want to do the knife making it is first come first serve to sign up. We got there at 11:15 gates open at 10 and they had one spot left. Luckily my husband got to do his the next day as we arrived there at 10:03 and was able to sign him up. The place was clean as could be. The food was okay. Plenty of non ride attractions for one day. We dont do rides. Went during fall festival of lights (halloween). At night during this time the walkway lights are pretty non existent so keep your eye on your littles. Food was okay, nothing to write home about. Stay at one of the Dollywood resorts we did Heartsongs and you wont regret it. Comes w a lot of perks. The amusement park will deliver your items bought there to the hotel so you dont have to carry anything around. 5 free fast passes and a free shuttle to front gate. Parking is exspensive30-50$
google avatar

Diane H.

Yelp
I came for the Lighted Pumpkin Festival which was very pretty. I'm too old for most of the rides so I just wanted to eat and shop. I had already spent $250 for tickets and parking, now another $50 for 2 to eat. Not the best food choices either. If you're a fan of Dolly, you'll love all the movies and info on her.
google avatar

Eric S.

Yelp
We celebrated our anniversary here and everything was perfect. The food was amazing! My wife couldn't believe how tasty her vegan corn dog was! Coconut cake, Cinnamon Bread and so much more was incredible! We rode the new Big Bear ride which was so fun! The staff were welcoming and friendly. Live entertainment from The Tones was great!

Christine d.

Yelp
Spacious park, fun rides for all ages. Cool to see artisans making ink prints and listening to Bands play as you stroll through the park. Friendly environment, we love it more than Disney.
google avatar

Cathy E.

Yelp
I went this summer to Dollywood with my cousins. They had season passes and took me free with a bring a friend pass! So I really enjoyed my time at Dollywood especially since I had free entry. We saw the eagles and the bird show. We had a great time and the fireworks were especially good. I had a nice time enjoying the park with my family I don't get to see as often as I would like!

Kara B.

Yelp
The first thing I'd like to comment is the cleanliness of the park and the helpful staff. You can always find staff member to point out the nearest bathroom or snack shack. They have an app and MULTIPLE screens throughout the park that has live updates on wait times for the rides which is more convenient than it sounds! A very helpful feature that made it easier for our family to do more in the time we were there. We even went at the busiest time of year. (Christmas, so beautifully decorated) This park is really GREAT for all ages. I don't know who had more fun- my kids or my husband!!! Obviously, like any amusement park, you'll need really great walking shoes. We will DEFFFF be back.
google avatar

J R.

Yelp
Dollywood. To my wife and daughter this was like their trip to the Vatican. A must do. Who doesn't love Dolly? Shes a national treasure. The friendliness and happy staff show they are appreciated. Regarding the park: Long lines, a fast pass type of badge usable on 1 ride per day would be nice, an update on the app showing real wait times so you can be efficient with your day would help. Only disappointment, we didn't meet Dolly.
google avatar

Greg P.

Yelp
I highly recommend Dollywood for its great location and beauty with entertainment for all ages.
google avatar

Donna S.

Yelp
We always have a good time here -- we take my mom (wheelchair) when we come to town to visit. ESPECIALLY at CHRISTMAS!! The lights & music are FANTASTIC!! My kid & I love the rides (while my husband & mom go to the shows -- they were able to see 5 shows while we rode rides this year!) Was sad that we could NOT find cotton candy - mom was craving it. :( But fudge was a good subsitute! :) The day was rainy & cold -- but was CLEAR & SUNNY while we were there, so not many had "braved" the day -- lines were SHORT & we got to do a LOT! I suggest to eat meals at one of the Dollywood resorts nearby -- usually a snack before & meal after -- to relax!! :) $50 for electric wheelchair...spendy. Probably won't get that next time, as we had a travel (lighter) wheelchair & it would have been easy to push around...and she wouldn't have run into things. :P

Yelp
Finally got to visit Dollywood for the first time. We waited for it to not be packed with people, and to see the Christmas lights. We love the Christmas lights and not a single line did we wait in to ride any coasters. The Christmas shows were wonderful. The shops were gorgeous and prices were reasonable. The lights and holiday decorations were exquisite. Santa and snow at the end were an added bonus. Highlights were the candle shop, train ride, tree lighting, and drone show. There is something for everyone, young, young at heart and thrill seekers. The park is a lot bigger than you would think. It was very nice to walk around and see what was there. We rode the train and got a different view of the park. We didn't expect to see an aviary of Bald Eagles, so they were a great surprise. It was a nice place to stroll and shop. All the employees we had interaction with were friendly and helpful. Dollywood is amazing. Very clean, family friendly and world class customer service. Highly recommend. If your local you must have a session pass. From all the holiday events they do etc. It's the only way to go. Lots of fun rides. Different class rides for all types of people and all ages. Parking is convenient. Security is present and consistent. Lots of shopping, junk food, good restaurants etc. Wonderful experience. Can't wait to come back. Dollywood is a theme park that is jointly owned by Herschend Family Entertainment and country singer-songwriter Dolly Parton through her entertainment company, Dolly Parton Productions. It is located in the Knoxville metropolitan area in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, near the gateway to The Great Smoky Mountains. This theme park has waterslides, rides and a number of live music shows. I highly recommend this attraction for a visit.

Yelp
During a roadtrip, my best friend wanted to go to Dollywood since we would be driving through Pigeon Forge and she figured what better time. I agreed to go because when in Rome, but if I'm being honest, I had low expectations. I am a current Disneyland Magic Key Holder, was an Annual Passholder since 2009, and spent my entire childhood going to Disneyland at least twice per year leading up to that. I have also frequented Universal Stuidios Hollywood as well as have been a Seaworld San Diego regular in the past. I have never been super impressed with Magic Mountain(s) as they feel very cheap and Knotts Berry Farm has been just okay. My theme park expectations, admittely, are unusally and unfairly high. Dollywood proved me wrong and far exceeded what I expected it to be! Don't get me wrong, I am a huge country music fan and have always liked Dolly, but going to Dollywood forced me to learn much more about her life, where she came from, and the events that made her who she is today. I drink the Dolly koolaid now and think she is a seeminly great person who donates to charities, cares about her roots and her hometown people, and hasn't let the sparkle of major fame get too her head too much to remember what it was like to not be so rich. Given we were there on an off season weekday so take this with a grain of salt, but I loved that the longest line I saw was 30 minutes and the rest were 15 minutes or less, most under 5! I didn't feel sardined into the park and I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the place overall. I adore the old country western theme and when I tell you the food was spectacular, I mean it! There are a decent amount of rides to choose from, from large to small, as well as a few shows, so there's a little something for everyone. I would definitely go back and highly recommend!

Yelp
We went to Dollywood and had so much fun. I didn't expect much, but was pleasantly surprised by the non-existent lines and low prices. The rollercoasters were high quality and so fast. We went on rides three times in a row and were impressed with the safety measures the workers took. I highly recommend going if you have a chance. They also take in birds that are injured and rehabilitate them. Their eagle habitat is the largest in the USA. (There's 27 of them!)

Yelp
I absolutely love amusement parks, and I've visited quite a few, so naturally when I learned of Dollywood I had to go. First, I'm going to start off about where Dollywood is, Pigeon Forge. This place alone is like out of a Hallmark movie. They literally have a street that looks like Christmas year round which is super amazing. Now let's dive into Dollywood. It was a lovely amusement park with a variety of rides and shows. We came on a Friday and honestly had a blast going through all the rides. It wasn't super busy that day thank goodness so we got to ride some of our favorite rides a few times. I think it was just lucky timing to visit that Friday because Saturday was busy. Since the park was busier that day, we opted to watch more of the shows. I will say that although the park was busy on Saturday it was better than other amusement parks I have been to. Lastly, I loved the charm of this Dollywood. It gave a feel like you didn't have to rush but could really enjoy yourself. Also, the location really is beautiful with the mountains and lush greenery all around. It honestly was a very memorable time.

Yelp
We spent the day at Dollywood - here's our take. We paid extra for premium parking, it was definitely worth it, especially after logging 5 miles of walking during our day at the park. The park is decked out for Christmas and looks so pretty. We arrived right at 11 am, the crowds were not bad at all. We rode a few rides - the kiddie area was actually really fun. Very family friendly (as is the whole park). Wr did ride the Bear coaster at the end and after a 45 minute wait, the 1 minute ride was very worth it. Lots of twists and turns and fun! The food at the park was a bit of a let down, we had checked the menus before arriving and the food choices were just ok. We ate at the Front Porch for lunch (it was good), we got cotton candy in a sounds bucket ($12) and we got frozen bananas. By 6 pm, we were exhausted as the park is very hilly and we logged 5+ miles. The stores were mobbed and we were just too tired to fight the crowds so we didn't get any souvenirs - bummer. I'm not sure we'd visit again, not because it wasn't fun but we felt we got to do everything we wanted.,

Yelp
Party of 5 from California. This trip was well worth it. The park is beautiful and clean. The food was so good as well. Truly happy with what Dolly has created here.

Yelp
This is the most beautiful, well-kept, family friendly theme park we've ever experienced. It's dotted by beautiful trees and nestled in the Smoky Mountains. What's not to love? Reasonable prices, tons of rides for kids (and adults) of all ages, and delicious food, paired with countless shows.... Our family especially loved riding the steam train through the forest greenery, sharing a loaf of delicious cinnamon bread, and attending a number of the shows. There was so much to see and experience that I could write pages about it! I loved the eagle sanctuary and the quaint little chapel. The scenery is stunning and enjoyable in itself. There's certainly something for everyone in your party from tame kiddie rides to thrill seeking coasters... a visit to Dollywood should be a "must do" on everyone's travel bucket list!

Yelp
Seeking some fun to celebrate our anniversary, we decided to visit Dollywood and Nashville. Based on the weather reports, we did an audible and did Dollywood first because the temps were going to be in the 50's. According to the website, rides are subject to closure due to extreme temperatures. We purchased the 2 day ticket so did Friday/Saturday. We parked in one of the lots and rode the tram over to the entrance. I recommend picking up a map, I find it easier to read. Still download the app for show times, and it gives you estimated times between attractions. If you are a rollercoaster enthusiast, this is a great park for it! Because it wasn't terribly crowded, we were able to ride all the open coasters once! It seemed there wasn't more than one car running on some of the coasters. Thunderhead is a thrilling wooden rollercoaster. Mystery Mine is just like its name with its unpredictability. Tennessee Tornado with its steep drops and loops for a long 2 minutes. These are just a few of the thrilling rides. I don't think I have screamed so much. We caught 2 of the shows which was well produced and entertaining about the holidays. We skipped the train ride after seeing the looooong line for the next train. Dollywood was beautifully lit and decorated for the holidays! We returned the next day, and it was way more crowded so the wait times were much longer. You can buy an upgraded pass to save time on the rides. We waited almost an hour for Dragonflies which was not worth it because it is only 1 minute long with only 1 car riding. We had the famous cinnamon bread which was so good my husband was salivating which is also sold at the bakery. For dining, they are quite a few places. We had the Blitzen bowl from Across the Pond food truck which we really liked. This would be a great park for families. I just can't imagine what it would be like during the summer unless you have a upgraded pass only because of the waits.

Yelp
My family and I had a great time at Dollywood when we visited Tennessee this past summer. We went in the middle of the week on a Wednesday and the crowds were totally manageable. The longest wait time for a ride was about 35 minutes, so not bad at all. We were able to find a deal for park admission and my son was free so the price was definitely a steal! This is definitely a roller coaster heavy park. Thank goodness my son just made the 42 inch mark and was able to get on many of the rides. I think he would have been very bummed and disappointed if he couldn't get on the majority of the rides. Our favorites were Big Bear Mountain, Fire Chaser, and the Dragon Flier. Some rides would go up and down during the day, but we definitely got our fill. Some rides we even rode three times. Riding the steam engine train was awesome (pro tip: sit towards the back so you don't get the soot all over you), the a capella group that sang by the train were so talented, and even the carnival type rides were fun to go on with the kids. Also be prepared, there is a lot of walking. It's like a circular loop so it's difficult to quickly navigate from one side of the park to the other. Like other reviewers have pointed out, the food is not the best, I mean it is typical theme park type fare. Even my kids weren't big fans and they are easy to please. Except! Get the cinnamon bread, that's the real food star there. Overall, we had so much fun at Dollywood, and were beat the next day. Definitely a core memory was made while riding Big Bear Mountain and the end of the night fireworks were going off. Now that was pretty magical.

Yelp
If you enjoy waiting 2hrs for food and to ride anything worth experiencing. Then this is the place for you. Worst experience at an amusement park I've ever had. Don't believe the hype or these reviews. I don't know how anyone would say they could enjoy this. The timesaver pass doesn't really save time. They have no idea how to run an amusement park. Too many people, not enough food and beverage vendors. The people working the rides are some of the most unfriendly children I've ever seen. We drove here for 18hrs and cancelled our 2nd day at the park. We will never return. Plenty to do in the smokies than to get ripped off at this forsaken place.

Yelp
Who doesn't love Dolly Parton? Not me. Who doesn't love Dollywood? I guess me. I liked it but didn't love it. My visit this week was at the start of the Christmas season so the Park was decorated appropriately especially at night by holiday lights and Christmas music being played on their sound system. I'll talk about the negatives first. If you are a roller coaster fanatic (I'm not) you will love this place. I think it would rival any Disney park with the coasters and extreme thrill rides it has. Being smaller than Disneyland and The Magic Kingdom its thrill ride density is greater. The other negative is cost. For being in East Tennessee the prices are California high. $90 for an adult admission, $25 parking, buckets of popcorn for $12, they have old timely arcades in the Park to play carnival games in and the tokens are expensive. Their ultra popular loaves of cinnamon bread are $12 each and sold in two locations in the Park. So you come to a theme park and then stand in line for 30 minutes to buy a loaf of bread? The positives are two that come to mind. First, ride the train. It is an excellent 20+ minute ride on a genuine coal fired locomotive pulling several open air cars behind it. You will smell and see the soot from the engine and they even tell you what to do if you get an ember in your eye during the ride and that train whistle is awesome. If you walk up and there are many people waiting for the next ride don't worry. The train holds a lot of people. Get in the line. The second positive are the musical shows. I attended 3 with 2 of them in indoor theaters. They lasted 30-45 minutes each and were well done. Plus it gives you a chance to rest your legs. They are all first come first served. Other than that there are many shops to walk in and buy things along with activities for kids to do. I found all of the staff to be very friendly. Order your tickets online to save time at the entrance ticket window.

Yelp
I love Dolly so I so wanted to love this place. Had high expectations as all I read was great reviews and the people that I know that had visited in the past had really enjoyed it. Unfortunately our experience was not so great. We came from Miami FL to spend a few days in Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg right after Christmas. We left Dollywood for the day before going back home. The whole group was excited. We purchased our tickets online. We purchased Fast Passes since we wanted to ne able to do the most in one day. In our mind the added $80 to a ticket that was already almost $100 was costly but worth it since we didn't know if we would ever be able to visit this Park again. We arrived early as we wanted to be able to arrive before any rush of people. Website stated it opened at 11 and we arrived at 10:15. They started to let people in earlierthan posted so we were happy about that. It was already starting to look pretty busy at that time. As we made our way into the park we were aboe to see a couple of things before the kids rode the first roller coaster. By this time it was about 11:30 and there were a lot of food/drink stations that were not open. By 1 the park became unbearable to walk around. After half of us left the other half that were in line to ride to go find something to eat we realized how insane the situation was. We stood 1.5hr at a spot to get food. Everyone around was making the same comments. We sadly decided to leave the park at 4 realizing we weren't going to be able to do much as there was way too many people and not enough staff. Never got to see the lights at night

Yelp
We traveled from Las Vegas to TN just for Dollywood! Oh, we had a time! It was about 40 mins from our cabin in the mountains. Parking was $25 and has a shuttle that takes you from lot to main entrance. We went this past weekend during the food and flowers festival. Food ticket was $40 for 5 items- yum! We went on Friday so the lines weren't that long- able to ride all of the rides with very little wait time. FUN rides and great shops! My gave part was in the front of park where they have Dolly exhibits! It is so beautifully done and a great way to tell her story! Just so cute and fun!

Yelp
I already can't wait to come back!! All of the staff was incredibly kind and helpful. The food and merchandise also all superb! I have not been to Dollywood since 2010 but so much has changed and for the better! Everyone in my group had such a lovely time, and we all loved the coasters! I was pleasantly surprised by Big Bear and that entire section of the park as I did not even know it existed prior to coming! All of the rides were operational during my visit and the park was impeccably clean. We also enjoyed the Dolly Parton tribute show and the birds of America show! All of the live entertainment was also stellar!
