When Spread opened, I really enjoyed it. Quality was there, portions were solid. About a year into being in Mt. P, they no longer have any quality control nor do they care about their product. If they’re any bit busy, you’ll see a lot of people asking for a remake.
Don’t get me wrong, it still tastes ok, but after you make the bagel, you’re just putting ingredients on. The time before last, they didn’t put any cream cheese on my bagel. Then this time, very little and the bagel was somewhat hard/dry. The bagels were softer and bigger when they initially opened.
The sandwich attached was $17 with tax and without tip. I understand lox are expensive, but this took only a few bites to put down. Regarding the picture with my hand for reference, I’m 5’7” so my hands are not huge.
For $17, i’d like a proper sandwich. The kids in there are trying hard and are sweet, but they could probably use some direction from an older, or at least someone with more experience. I feel stupid writing a review this length, or a review at all about bagels, but after last time and now this, it has become insulting. I won’t be back and I would recommend that people try Ruby’s on Coleman Blvd.
