I recently watched the Coronado Concert Band and what a night!!! This venue is classic and historic. A must see and enjoy. You can simply sit in the bench seats without any concert going on. Just enjoy.

Free organ concert. We had the opportunity to enjoy the annual organ festival. This was not only an organ concert but had a symphony too! All volunteers! Always a treat! Check out the Balboa Park site for monthly events.

Yesterday evening I had the privilege of attending a Not-So-Silent movie event at the Spreckels Organ Pavilion with Sue, and Dennis & Denise Carreon. Three very old silent Laurel & Hardy movies were shown, with music provided for each movie by our host, Organist Russ Peck. It was a magical event and I felt so privileged to be there.

The most iconic largest outdoor instrument in the world with 5,098 pipes ranging in size from 32 feet to the size of a pencil the concerts being held here are curated by our master civic organist Raul Pietro Ramirez and he wonderfully presents a 1-hour program every Sunday at 2:00 pm Pacific Time and you must simply attend to take part of these historic events!

My husband and I went to see Moonlight Serenade during the summer twilight concert series and really enjoyed it! The musicians were great and people were dancing away in the plaza. The outdoor venue is beautiful and free concerts are fantastic.

It’s located right beside the Japanese garden. This is the World’s Largest Outdoor Musical Instrument! They’ve got several free outdoor concerts perfect for families and little one. Plenty of sitting area and for kids to roam around if they can sit still. If you’re in the area or in the Balboa park, definitely check them out. It’s quite an experience on its own. Pick a day with good weather and bring a hat.

This was in my top three things I wanted to see in the park as a tourist. I love music and I’ve never seen an organ of this size. Unfortunately I didn’t get to see the organ because the city is doing a lot of holiday decorating. They’re currently building a Christmas tree on the stage. It looks like it’s going to be gorgeous when it’s done, but this entire area was full of construction equipment.
