What a delight to stumble across this gem in the heart of historic Takoma Park Junction! My best friend and I finished shopping at the Co-op across the street and wanted a bite to eat. We were unfamiliar with the area as we live in DC and took a short stroll the historic storefronts to see what we could find.
Spring Mill Bread Company looked quaint and inviting, with bright red tables and chairs for enjoying their food outside. Inside , we saw a wall of bread, brick walls and beautiful water color art decorating the walls. There was a couch and antique coffee table made from an old wagon. Displays of homemade jams and fresh baked goods including cakes and cookies lined another wall. We selected our sandwiches and were asked the type of bread we wanted them on. All of the bread is baked fresh from their kitchen in the back. We chose to eat inside in the bay window where there was an ample amount of sunlight. Soon our sandwiches were brought to us on a beautiful platter decorated with lemons. Our sandwiches were huge and required two hands to pick them up! So fresh and delicious, we felt like we were on an adventure of a lifetime. If you are ever going to Takoma Park, please be sure to stop by this amazing place.
