"Choose from several broths, vegetables, meats, and kinds of seafood at this Lower Allston hot pot stop. The all-you-can-eat price ($22.95 for weeknight dinner and lunch or dinner on the weekends; kids 10 and under get a discounted price and kids three and under eat free) covers a buffet of hot pot vegetables, fish cakes, rice, noodles, and the like; pay a la carte for various meat and seafood additions." - Erika Adams, Terrence Doyle

"This is technically just over the edge of Allston into Brighton, but we’re shouting it out because Japanese hot pot restaurant Spring Shabu Shabu delivers time and again. Unlike other shabu-shabu spots where diners share the same pot of soup, Spring Shabu Shabu offers each diner their own individual soup pot, making this a great option for vegetarians and meat-eaters alike. Between the buffet of seemingly endless vegetables, fresh noodles, imitation meats, sauces, and add-on meat and seafood options, the combinations here are truly endless. For dessert, serve yourself some soft serve for that college dining hall nostalgia." - Lala Thaddeus, Terrence Doyle

"With its original location in Flushing, Queens, Spring Shabu-Shabu’s Allston offshoot is a popular spot for students and residents. Its menu is partially buffet-style, meaning the diners get to pick their “entree,” which is a protein prepared to order. The sides, mainly vegetables and tofu, are laid out on the buffet counter alongside the sauces. Each diner gets their own individual broth, with vegetarian options featured on the menu. This makes it an ideal place for large groups with different dietary preferences." - Valerie Li Stack

Ingredients are always super fresh with a lot of different vegetables, noodles and fishcakes to choose from. The food is consistently good, for a decent price, and one of my favorite places to eat in Boston. They also have gluten free options listed. On weekends it’s best to get there early (close to opening time) as the wait can be up to an hour (or more) at busy times!

Google
*TLTR* Good but overrated. I can see why this place has a generous rating. They have a beautiful spread of fresh greens (which all seem to be on steroids 😅) and sooo many wonderful options to add to your individual hot pot — love that each person gets own pot. They have a great variety of noodles. All of which were good and seem freshly made. (Warning: Not recommended to binge eat a whole plate of them. They will expand in your belly and suffocate you from the inside out. 😅 You will not — I repeat — you will not be able to breathe or stand up straight…) The green tea ice cream — wow. 😋 I think I’d go there just for that! The team does a good job restocking and cleaning up the self-serve areas, which I greatly appreciate. The vibe is like an open cafeteria. Very lively, loud, and busy — not a negative for me. So, all that is wonderful. But their broths — not so wonderful. They left more to be wanted. And for that alone, I’m not tempted to go back. To me, it’s the broth that makes the hot pot. And I found their broths one-dimensional, lacking in depth of flavor. Their price point, at first, seems to be more affordable than an alternative hot pot spot like Shabu-Zen, which is pricey. But it’s not really by much and I’d rather spend the extra few bucks and splurge in Shabu-Zen, which I love. This is *not* a bad place, but to me, it fell flat, especially as hyped as it is. They up their game in their broths, and it’s a game changer. Bottom line: a solid 3 for the variety of options, generosity of items to add to your hot pot, and individual pots. I wouldn’t discourage you from trying it, but there are better places.

This all-you-can-eat hot pot restaurant offers a fun dining experience with an extensive selection of high quality meats, fresh vegetables and handmade noodles. With 5 broths to choose from your own pot, and the ability to control the temperature it is a unique hot pot adventure. The restaurant's exceptional value for money makes it a standout house for hot pot enthusiasts seeking a delicious but budget-friendly experience.

Google
Pleasant experience here. Clean and spacious location. Broths are good. Pretty good selection of vegetables and fish cakes. Everything we had were fresh. Too bad they were out of green tea ice cream. Would come back again.

Google
All you can eat individual hot pot for around $30+ (tax, tip, and depending on how much meat you get). Nice atmosphere, lots of veggie/seafood/noodle/dipping sauce options! Highly recommend as fun hang out spot with good food. Wait time can be long on busier days, 45+ min, so make sure to plan ahead of time!

Sam E

Google
Good place for a hotpot experience. They have variety of options and the meet was fresh but the waiting time was so long, we have been told to wait 40 min but ended up waiting up to one hour and 40 minutes. Their green tea and vanilla ice cream is the best, a must try.

cleo C H.

Google
All you can eat hot pot 🍲 you only pay extra for meat like pork, beef , lamb and seafood. We had the seafood combo and it was good, the only thing I didn’t like was the crab 🦀 coz it is stale 🤨 the best part is the dessert 🍦 matcha/vanilla ice cream was delicious 😋 the place is neat! 90 mins of eating only and that is a long time! Must try!

Google
This is my first time trying hot pot and it was absolutely amazing! I loved it and I love that you get a lot of meat and as many veggies as you want. The matcha ice cream was also super delicious! Perfect experience!

Yelp
Spring shabu shabu is incredible. It is so much fun getting to pick out your toppings. For a lot of the places that have all you can eat hot pot, the quality of the food isn't so good but this was divine. They had so many toppings it was hard to choose. The meat, once cooked in the pot, all looked and tasted the same, so I recommend just going for whatever is the cheapest. The service was quick! The place is very bright and modern. I highly recommend

Mila C.

Yelp
this place has everything: gigantic spinach, great wine, and dreamy soft serve at the end of your meal !! your clothes WILL smell like hotpot but who cares ?! it's worth it. the wait can be long so get there early if you can, otherwise i recommend passing the time in the petco next door lol

Suha L.

Yelp
You can trust this place is the best because I've been to Spring at least 10 times and I won't stop any time. This all-you-can-eat spot has a huge variety of vegetables, noodles, and more and it's one of, if not the best, spots for hot pot in the Boston area. It's also super clean inside and they keep the ingredients fresh. There are 5 options of broth that you can choose to make your own. I usually go for the bone broth one but I also really like the mala broth. The only thing is you can't really combine them but also you can ask. Also, the meat is extra but one plate is enough if you portion it out. The best part is that you can end with their signature soft-serve ice cream and battle with your friends who does it the best. It's $22.95 per person without meat and it's such a great deal, especially with the amount of things you can put.

Alyssa P.

Yelp
Fantastic hot pot restaurant with tons of options for vegetables and other items! For me, it had every ingredient that I love in hot pot (lots of different mushrooms, taro, squash, cabbage, bean sprouts, rice cakes). They also had a variety of different noodles. One really unique one was the matcha noodles. These were surprisingly good. They also had a bunch of sauces for you to make. My favorite combination is garlic, soy sauce, chili oil, sesame oil, green onion, cilantro, and hoisin sauce. The matcha ice cream here is also amazing. I think it's actually the best matcha ice cream I've ever had. Service is pretty quick and there's a lot of seating for lots of people to come and eat. It is popular though so expect a 20/30 min wait.

Byanca Y.

Yelp
Plenty of parking and the wait really fluctuates. Sometimes the wait is an hour and others were seated immediately. This place is sooo good! One of my favorites. Unique that all the veggies, noodles and some protein is all you can eat, however meat and seafood pieces are al le carte. They let us sample a small bowl of each soup and I've never enjoyed all the soups at one place before. Even the vegetarian option was super flavorful! We went with the spicy and Tom yum because we like the spice. There's plenty of options for veggies and meat. There's also a sauce bar which is fun to change dipping sauces. My favorite- like everyone else is the green tea ice cream. Soo good. Overall would go here again solid place.

Meg C.

Yelp
First time trying an individual broth hotpot with a buffet for veggies, noodles, fish balls, and dipping sauce, and I absolutely loved it. I had the kimchi broth and it had good flavor and decent spice. I like that they come by and refill the broth if it's getting a bit low - service overall was fast and friendly. The buffet has so many different options to choose from - a surprise hit with my table was the vegetable noodles. We also ordered two plates of beef and one of pork, but honestly you don't even really need to order meat, just the buffet alone has enough variety to fill up on, especially for the price. The soft serve matcha was a perfect way to end the meal. I'll definitely be back!

Hannah T.

Yelp
I have been coming to this spot regularly for 4 years, since moving to Boston. It's where I bring all my friends and family whenever they visit, and it's a go-to spot for an affordable, delicious, and homey meal with a small group. I absolutely love Spring Shabu - it's the best bang for your buck in Boston (if you don't eat a ton of meat). For the price, you get one of the best assortments of fresh, clean veggies and tons of unique noodles and mushrooms. The sauce bar is also unbeatable. Highly recommend!

Rachel S.

Yelp
Okay, so this also may be my fault (Someone did try to warn me) I ordered the vegetarian broth. NO FLAVOR! Where is the flavor. I tried mixing sauce to help. It did. Very slay. It was very busy, which is good for them (like pop off) but they never came back to refill our broth! "I am looking like a whole caveman trying to eat my food." "My brick of ramen is too thick for the lack of broth I have" (They finally came to at the last 5 mins to be like you want some broth. ) The ice cream... I would kill someone for it. Sooo yummy. Ambiance was good tho. And the price isn't bad!

Rebecca S.

Yelp
My favorite hot pot around! Unlimited veggies/noodles/rice/egg/etc (+ soft serve) for 90 minute seatings. All for $22.95! Each person gets their own pot/can choose their own broth which I also really appreciate ! Highlights: -kimchi (locating with the sauces and garnishes) -pumpkin slices -Napa cabbage -yuzu ponzu sauce (add green onion) - green tea noodles -matcha vanilla soft serve to finish off the meal Is often very crowded! We try to get there a couple minutes before the first seating to minimize wait time.

Shari L.

Yelp
Nice place, mini hot pot for each person so can choose own broth, buffet foods so take what I like, except beef pork lamb seafood to be ordered separately.

Connie L.

Yelp
Spring Shabu is definitely one of my favorite hotpot spots around Boston. The individual hot pot concept is so clever and ensures there's always something for everyone's tastes. The pricing is fair - $25 for AYCE veggies, fish cakes, noodles, eggs, etc. It's $5 extra for each meat plate, but the portions are decent. Such good value. Service is great - they always make sure our broths are stocked and everything is to our liking. You also have to get their matcha soft serve. It's always the perfect finish to a delicious meal here.

Hallie L.

Yelp
The best place to go for AYCE hotpot on a budget if you are not a meat type of person. It's 22.95 a person which includes everything except non water drinks and meat. The sauce bar has sooo many options, more than most hotpot places. The pork bone broth is my favorite, super flavorful and a safe choice for more picky eaters. They also have a huge variety of veggies to choose from, so much that my family didn't miss the lack of meat at all. We ordered a plate of the white fish fillet but honestly the hotpot would have been better without.

Mindy P.

Yelp
Spring Shabu Shabu was highly recommended to me by many friends, and this place did not disappoint. First of all, there is ample parking in the huge lot, which is important because the restaurant is huge! I've gone on a weekday and also a weekend and both dinners were filled with people. They do not take reservations, so expect a wait, go at an earlier time, or come early to put your name down. All members of the party need to be present to be seated. I absolutely love the AYCE veggies, noodles, fishcakes, desserts, and sauces. It's a great selection and everything is super fresh. Meats and seafood are extras, but honestly, you can get full with just the AYCE items. One thing to note is this place gets loud because everybody is yelling over each other. There are also big groups that come. They can accommodate a wide variety of groups.

Janhavi N.

Yelp
We got lucky and did not have too long of a wait. Great variety of options, veggies, rice and meats. My favourite part was the boiled eggs! Great spot to go in a small group or large. Another highlight is the matcha ice cream on tap.

Anthony P.

Yelp
This was my second time visiting this establishment with my family and I enjoyed my experience. Our server, Guozhu, was super professional and took super care of us that evening. Thanks Guozhu for your amazing service! The food option was vast and we had a lot of choices to choose from. The atmosphere was super relaxing and comfortable. It wasn't too loud as we were able to have normal conversations without shouting. Definitely kids friendly and great for groups if any of you are interested in trying this place out!

Kylie B.

Yelp
Spring Shabu Shabu is hands down my favorite place to eat out in Boston. This all you can eat Shabu Shabu place is so reasonably priced for the endless fresh vegetable options, delicious variety of noodles, yummy fish cakes, generous sauce bar, multiple tofu options, and to top it all off vanilla and matcha soft serve ice cream. Meat is an additional cost and usually this is a bummer to me for hot pot but I found that there are so many options included in the buffet that I don't even miss the meat. You have to advocate for yourself to get water and broth refill service (and it is a self serve buffet) because the restaurant is always hopping but servers are always pleasant and happy to help you when asked. It is a busy place, however, I never feel overcrowded by the lively atmosphere. The wait can be hefty on the weekend (but is so worth it) I would recommend checking it out on a weekday to avoid the wait!

Dora H.

Yelp
Spring Shabu Shabu is well worth the price. This is an all you can eat but the meat or seafood you will have to pay per plate (also pretty cheap per plate). The all you can eat portion includes everything you can think of to put into hot pot including all sorts of fresh veggies, fish balls (I don't think they had meat balls or Fuzhou balls though), tofu products, and freshly made noodles. The best part is how fresh everything looks and tastes. The counters are also kept clean, which I'm sure is the effort of all the staff housekeeping all the stations. For those that want to want to eat a bit healthier but still want to eat out you can choose the clear broth and select mostly veggies and fresh produce. The price also includes all you can eat matcha and milk soft serve that is surprisingly delicious. All sauces are included in the price. For the price this is definitely worth it. Highly recommend.

Jocelyn G.

Yelp
Loved this ayce shabu shabu place! It is a bit different from other ayce hot pot places where you still have to pay per plate of meat. However, the meat plate portions are big and you only really need 1-2 per person. The veggies here are super fresh!! I loved the selection they had and even liked that they have free soft serve too. I got the pork bone broth which had a nice mild flavor to each items with the broth or with a sauce you make.

Joy G.

Yelp
Is it the best shabu shabu/hot pot experience I've ever had? No - that honor goes to Hai Di Lao in China, where you get a free manicure and loads of snacks in advance. But Spring Shabux2 is a great deal for the area, especially if, like me, you're more into fish balls and veggies and noodles than meat. It's a flat rate and buffet style, so you can eat to your heart's desire, and it's a particularly good deal for large groups/families, since there's usually something there for everyone. I loved the buffet of veggies, fish balls, mushrooms, tofu, noodles and rice. So many different kinds of veggies! The variety is another selling point. As is the sauce bar - I have no idea whether what I'm mixing will turn out good or not, but I went with sha cha, peanut sauce, sesame sauce, and chili oil, with loads of scallions and cilantro. Everything was very clean and fresh. My favorite was the fish ball with roe inside. For once, the protein a la carte options play second fiddle to the incredible buffet spread. Don't forget the green tea soft serve afterwards! My one tip is to go on a weekday night (and on the early side). Our group of 3 went around 5:45 and didn't have to wait, though when we left at 7:30, there was already a line. The weekends are bananas. Also, they won't seat you until your whole party is here so don't be the annoying friend who claims to have left already when you're still sitting at home. PARKING: Spring shares the lot with PetCo, just be mindful of not parking somewhere that's specifically designated. If that lot is full, you can always use the enormous Star Market lot.

Yelp
Great place if you're looking for hotpot in the area. I was here recently for work and so we were staying nearby the Harvard Business School campus. It was raining and cold and our party of 4 wanted to eat something warm and soupy. What better place than a hotpot restaurant. A quick yelp search led us to this establishment. We knew it must be good if the place was packed on a Friday night and the avg wait time was over 60 min! Our party was quoted a 90 minute wait, and since we Uber'd here and it was raining heavily outside, we chose to wait. We. Were. Not. Disappointed. Location: large seating area with different table/seating configurations to allow for parties of different sizes. The premise is that each individual has their own hotpot to customize to their preference and delight. Food: Great selection of vegetables, noodles, seafood balls and cakes, and sauces to customize. This all comes unlimited for the base price of the AYCE, and it's priced very reasonably at under $30. You start off by selecting one of 4 or 5 soup bases. I chose the "Chinese Mala" which was not too spicy and not your traditional Mala. What you can do from there is add on your proteins for about $5-9 per individual serving. I added on 1 order of beef ribeye, and 1 order of beef belly, each about 4 ounces each...which was more than enough! Overall, this was a great meal and fantastic place to try out. If I'm back here again, I'll be sure to come back!

Matthew R.

Yelp
Well for starters the food is delicious, the service is quick and kind, and the ambiance is good. A little cold at times. This place is a must visit in this area. not only a restaurant but an experience with many memorable moments. I've been more times in a year than to any restaurant. That's how good it is. Are server was kendo, they were spectacular and were supper kind.

Stanley U.

Yelp
Spring shabu shabu is one of the best bang for your buck hot pot spots! Its a modern looking place with high ceilings and plastic dividers for privacy. Their all-you-can-eat vegetables and fish cakes are perfect for non-meat eaters, and their meat and seafood prices are reasonable for the quality and quantity. Plus, they slice your meat and seafood to order. The service is prompt and attentive, and while the place can get crowded, the wait is usually short. The restaurant has only individual burners so everyone can get their own broth. And don't forget to try their green tea ice cream!

Meiyi Y.

Yelp
AYCE phenomenal selection of vegetables. Great variety of noodles and fishballs. You need to order meats or seafood on the side for additional cost. I love the matcha soft serve for dessert! My friends and I (party of 5) didn't need to wait for a table for a Wednesday dinner. The staff takes your broth order pretty quickly and you serve yourself the rest. Great place for a meal with friends because everyone can find something that they like.

Jayjay S.

Yelp
"Spring Shabu Shabu in Allston is easily the best hot pot spot in Boston! The location is super convenient, making it easy to get to, and the food is consistently fantastic. They offer an impressive variety of fresh ingredients, and the overall selection is huge, catering to every taste. The service is always attentive and friendly, ensuring a great experience every time. Plus, the price point is excellent for the quality and amount of food you get. The ambience is nice with you being seated with your own table and separate from others so you do not feel crammed in. I Highly recommend for anyone craving a top-notch hot pot experience!"

Denise M.

Yelp
We came for dinner and it was disappointing. It felt like a warehouse not a great atmosphere and the food was ok. The broth was good but the vegetables weren't that diverse and maybe it was the night but might try again.

Nick S.

Yelp
This place is amazing, but I've rated it 4 stars because I no longer visit as often. The selection of vegetables is impressive, making it a top spot for vegetarians. The food is fresh, with frequent restocking, and the sauce bar is decent. The clean, modern minimalist design of the interior adds to the overall experience. The reason I don't frequent this spot anymore is that I primarily eat meat. Meat here costs extra and the portions can be small, especially for larger groups, so the cost can add up quickly. Seafood options like fish tofu and fish balls are available for an additional charge, but for the price of everything combined, it's more economical to go elsewhere for a meat-focused hotpot/shabu experience. Overall, it's a great place for seafood and vegetarian options, but if you're a meat lover, you might want to look elsewhere.

Cindy C.

Yelp
This is our favorite spot to eat a delicious meal in Boston! Whenever our friends or family comes to visit us, we make sure we take them here. For the broth, they have a few options including a vegetarian option. In fact, this restaurant is a great spot for vegetarians. Personally, my favorite broth is the pork bone broth, as it's flavorful and not too heavy, which makes it drinkable. When it comes to meat, my favorite is the beef ribeye since it is so tender. We usually order about 1 plate per person and that's enough. Although you have to pay individually for the meat you order, the overall price point is still very reasonable. Their vegetables are extremely fresh and clean also. What is really impressive is that the entire restaurant is pretty much spotless, even though it's buffet style, which is rare to find. They have so many styles of vegetables, fishcakes, dumplings, and noodles. My favorite is the fresh ramen noodle and the fish cakes. They have so many types of noodles including various flavors of ramen noodles, udon, vermicelli, you name it. It's an endless variety in here and you will never get tired of eating this. Actually I could probably eat it everyday! You have to remember save room for dessert. Their matcha and vanilla ice cream really tie everything together, making it a perfect ending to a delicious unforgettable meal.

Julianne C.

Yelp
one of the best hot pot places i have ever been to!!! absolutely unbeatable prices for all you can eat. i have been here multiple times and i only get one small a la carte meat dish on the side each time because i can get so full with all of the other yummy hot pot fixings! the selection of vegetables, noodles, and fish balls is incredible. you can mix and match to make your perfect sauce (i love peanut sauce + hoisin + sesame oil + fish sauce!). and potentially best of all is the soft serve (matcha, vanilla, or swirl)!! the service is always pretty top notch especially considering how busy it gets inside. expect a wait and for the interior to be a bit loud. however, if you have the chance to visit spring shabu-shabu, i would highly highly recommend. i miss it and can't wait to have it again!

Rocky W.

Yelp
Spring Shabu is a good choice if you're vegetarian or want to do hotpot on a budget. This restaurant is popular and there is usually being a line outside waiting for them to open. I would come at 8 or later to avoid the wait. They currently don't take reservations. If you're waiting and need to kill some time, there's a Petco next door to check out. Once you get to your table, you scan a QR code to see their hotpot menu. Everyone gets their own personal pot. For broths, my favorites are the kimchi, dashi, or spicy pork bone. Their buffet includes vegetables, rice cakes, noodles, and fish cakes. For an additional upcharge, you can order seafood including fish, shrimp, or clams. For meat, I like to order the pork belly, dumplings, beef belly, lamb, or ribeye. Their dessert is green tea or vanilla ice cream and it is exceptionally good. The sauce station is extensive with lots of options with over 25 or so to choose from. It's very affordable here as the price for adult buffet is $22.95 and the meat and seafood add-ons are between $3 to $7 for a decent portion. For the not so good things about the restaurant, soda drink refills are not free and you will be charged each time. Also, when they refill the your broth they don't usually add the broth that you initially had so the taste will get more diluted over time. The service here is mediocre and I had to flag down our waitress a couple of times to ask for utensils, drinks, and the check.

Ai H.

Yelp
Parking: lots of plaza parking but make sure not to take the McDonald or petco parking because you'll get towed This place has to be one of my top shabu shabu places because there are so many good options. You do have to pay for the meat and drinks but everything else is included in the meal from noodles to veggies to ice cream. The ice cream is a must!! Service is also great and super helpful

Yerina K.

Yelp
I am giving this place 5 stars because every time I have eaten there, I have always left with a good experience. I've been coming here for 5 years now and it always makes me feel so full and worth the money. The variety of veggies, noodles, and sauces are solid but the meat is not AYCE. However, the quality of the meat is actually really good and I think it's definitely worth the splurge (it is pricey ~$5 per box) but it's good and honestly I sometimes don't order the meat and just do veggies/fish balls and I'm solid! As for service, the waiters are very quick and efficient. The wait time does get long during dinner hours so I would suggest to get there 30mins before opening! The place itself is pretty clean and everyone is having a good time. Highly recommend trying the ice cream there because the matcha/vanilla is so worth it and I would come here to look forward to eating it! I love spring shabu please don't close down.

Lucille H.

Yelp
Jalapeño fish cake is the bomb! Green tea ice cream also very good. Pork bone soup base is awesome. Mala soup base is ok in my opinion (not spicy enough). Great for groups. Don't wait till the end of the night to get ice cream as the consistency changes a bit.

sarah h.

Yelp
This is my favorite shabu shabu place around. The standard fee covers all veggies, noodles, sauces, and more. The first time I went I got meat as well, but quickly learned that was not necessary since the buffet style set up is extensive and provides lots of options. The food available seems fresh and is always well stocked, I've never seen them run out of anything while I'm there. The service is good. Despite this being a cook your own food place, the servers are still very attentive. Sometimes there's a wait to get in, but it generally doesn't take more than 30 min since there are a lot of tables and a time limit. They are pretty loose on the time limit as long as there are not people waiting for the table, which I appreciate. This is a large restaurant with a lot of tables. Sometimes it feels a bit like a dining hall. My only complaint (but not really) is that none of the tables are really set up for parties over 6 people, so it's harder to come here with a large group.

Tiffany C.

Yelp
A feast! Their vegetables are so bountiful and fresh and their fish ball selection is mouth watering. I love going here with friends, although we usually get too locked in eating and refilling our plates to gab much. Love going here on a weekday night when there's little to no wait. Grabbing a glass of reasonably priced wine and having bowl after bowl of delicious hot pot...what else can a girl ask for? Leave some room for dessert because their soft serve matcha and vanilla swirl is divine.

Harper S.

Yelp
Efficient service and great hot pot offerings. Customers pick a broth and a type of meat and vegetables/starches/fish balls are all AYCE. Lines can get very long especially during peak hours!

Andy N.

Yelp
Expect a long wait time because of the restaurant's popularity. But when we got in, the service was quick to give you your broth and additional meats if you ordered any. The self-serve buffet style of veggies, noodles, and other assortments was great because we were starving. For the price, it's a pretty good deal because it's unlimited! However, I'm a meat lover, so I may opt to pay a bit more for unlimited meats at another hot pot place. But one thing that makes this place stand out is the matcha soft serve-- the true star of the restaurant!

Yelp
Amazing ayce hotpot with a variety of items! I definitely wish they had chili crisp or something actually spicy in the sauce bar. They have tons of leafy greens, root vegetables, mushrooms, fish cakes, noodles, egg, etc to grab with regular refills. The sauce bar has the usual sesame sauce, shacha, green onions, cilantro, lemon, kimchi, etc. the staff pretty much give you the soup/meat ordered and leave you alone for the rest of the time. At the end, they have matcha and vanilla soft serve (creamy and not too sweet).

Yelp
The best hot pot place in boston! I really enjoy the selection of unlimited sides they offer and the price of the meats. I recommend the spicy broth.

Yelp
Spring Shabu-Shabu in Brighton is super popular and always packed for a reason. It's affordable price per person for AYCE, quality meats & vegetables, plus LOTS of tables available (though there's usually already a line formed before they open for dinner time on the weekdays even!)... I mean you just cannot go wrong! They offer AYCE (all you can eat) hot pot with a daily set price of $22.99/person. For children 0-3 years old, free & children over the age of 3, it is $1.25 x their age. Lunch AYCE is only available on weekends now, so only dinner on weekdays, as of 8/24/24. **AYCE here includes vegetables, all the different types of noodles, fish balls, and ice cream. **Meats and seafood platters are additional charge. For me, I haven't had any issues with the meats/seafoods being a la carte. One order of meat is usually more than enough. I have over ordered multiples times before, and honestly one plate has been my go to since. They offer 6 different broths, 2 of which are spicy. Broth flavors include: dashi, kimchi, pork bone, spicy pork bone, & vegetarian. For ice cream, they have vanilla and matcha! REALLY great place to bring the family for hotpot. Each person gets their own pot & there are larger tables that can fit big parties. Also, restaurant is super clean. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Nothing but positive stuff to say. We had to wait 1 hour but it was worth the food. The quality is amazing, it's super cold in there so I recommend bringing a jacket. The ambiance is loud and they have music going but not in a negative way.

Yelp
I think this is my favorite restaurant in Boston. The only downside is that it is really packed in the weekend. We had to wait over an hour to get seated but it was definitely worth it. I really like how they have so many different types of vegetables, noodles, fish balls that we can choose from. They were all fresh and tasted really well. I really enjoyed the variety of sauces that they have. I got the mala soup base which was not too spicy and went well with all the food that they had. It was really packed on a Friday night but it is spacious for big groups. Also the green tea ice cream was a great way to finish the meal.

Yelp
This all-you-can-eat hot pot restaurant offers a fun dining experience with an extensive selection of high quality meats, fresh vegetables and handmade noodles. With 5 broths to choose from your own pot, and the ability to control the temperature it is a unique hot pot adventure. The restaurant's exceptional value for money makes it a standout house for hot pot enthusiasts seeking a delicious but budget-friendly experience.

Yelp
Completely agree with the other reviews - this place gets BUSY so plan on getting here a good 30-45 minutes before you want to actually eat. Also arrive with an empty stomach because you will want to eat as much as humanly possible. My friends and I arrived around 6:30pm on a Sunday, and after putting our name/phone number down, we got a text saying our table was ready after about 45 minutes. We were immediately seated at the corner of the restaurant. There are so many tables and narrow corridors here that it can make it a bit of a maze to get through, so be patient! We chose our broths and meat, and were then able to go to the all-you-can-eat buffet where we picked up other ingredients to add to our individual hot pot. Everything here was super tasty and fresh, while also being very sanitary considering how busy it was. We were able to control the temperature of our hot pot, which was nice especially when we finished cooking. While I do wish some of the broth options were more flavorful, it was nice being able to personalize your own dipping sauce which you could use to make the dishes more tasty. I also enjoyed the green tea and vanilla ice cream - it was the perfect way to wrap up the dining experience.

Yelp
Ever since Spring Shabu came to Allston, it's always been a hot pot go to for my friends and I! Great food, great value, selection, and quality, what more can you ask for? Definitely be prepared for an hour wait because ever since it opened up a few years ago, there is always a wait but it is definitely worth it. I love how much selection there is for people with different types of dietary restrictions, making it a lot easier to dine out with friends since they can pick and choose what they want themselves for their individualized pot. A big big plus is that everything is stocked quickly and is fresh, and it seems like they do try their best to reduce any cross-contamination. For the price for AYCE (everything but the meat and seafood), it's hard to beat! Service is okay and it is hard to get the attention of the servers but it has been understandable considering how busy and packed the restaurant is all the time. One thing is, I just wish they readily had soup spoons! Sometimes when I ask they either are out of smaller spoons and also just don't offer spoons small enough to sip on the broth! The green tea soft serve is something refreshing I always look forward to post meal after having a heavy meal at Spring.

Yelp
This place is GOOOOD!! I loved the experience and quality of food was exceptional. Be prepared to wait in a long line if you aren't one of the first few groups who've been waiting 30 mins before opening. For $22 you get AYCE shabu toppings, choice of broth and 1 protein plate (beef, lamb, pork, chicken). Once you order your broth and protein, you are free to roam around and begin piling your plates. My eyes could not believe the variety of noodles, veggies, sauces, fishcakes laid out it was hotpot heaven!! With the extensive sauce station, I was able to concoct my own peanut sesame dipping sauce and my cousin made a ponzu yuzu!! I chose several kinds of noodles but honestly couldn't really taste much difference between their green wheat and regular still it was nice to see such variety. At the end of your meal swing by the soft-serve station to sample vanilla and matcha ice cream. It's creamy I can never deny dessert after dinner. I couldn't recommend this place anymore, reasonably priced, convenient and quick hotpot fix, and delicious!

Yelp
$23 for all you can eat hot pot is so worth it when you have an unlimited noodle, vegetable, rice, and sauce bar‼ You can't go wrong with any of their 5 soup selections, but I always order their pork bone broth (they have a vegetable broth for any vegetarians!) Note: Their AYCE doesn't include drinks or meats/seafood, but the additional cost was affordable! Hot pot on a cold rainy day is the BEST pick me up that warms your soul and I love how @springshabushabu.boston (instagram) has unlimited vanilla matcha green tea soft serve ice cream to enjoy for dessert

Yelp
$20 all you can eat hot pot! Truly cannot get better than that. It'a buffet style so you pick out your broth and your meat and then go load up on veggies/noodles/fish cakes. They come around with more broth to refill if you're running low. You can even mix broths which I love doing. Absolutely love this place! Service has always been great despite it being super crowded. Wait time has never been as long as they've said it being. Also, you get matcha ice cream at the end!!

Yelp
"This might be my new favorite spot" said someone while in line for ice cream. Their friends clowned on them for wanting to order takeout instead of wait 90 minutes. We were also told about 90 minutes wait but got seated in 20 minutes after walking around Petco so the wait is honestly not bad despite what they say. Spring Shabu is an all you can eat vegetarian experience but you can order meat by the plate. Super unique and a great accommodating experience for all. They offer a numerous amount of noodles, vegetables, tofus, mushrooms, and fish balls among other items. We also ordered one beef and one lamb item to round out our pots. Just no enoki mushroom which is common for hotpot places. One of the best parts is the soft serve. They have vanilla and green tea soft serves which are delicious. I walked by lots of people eating ice cream waiting for their food to cook. Great start to the buffet and great way to end as well.

Yelp
The best place to eat on earth. All you can eat noodles, vegetables, and fish cakes (90 minute limit). The meats are always high quality. The service is fast and friendly! I had the pork bone broth which didn't have as much flavor. I think that is okay so it doesn't overpower the custom sauce I made. I love the homemade noodles and all the fresh vegetables. The buffet really makes the meal so good! The green tea ice cream is the perfect refreshment to finish the meal. However, the green tea ice cream was a bit gritty instead if the normal homogenous kind. It wasn't as good so I hope they switch back to the normal kind. The only thing is that the popularity makes it crowded and there are no reservations. On the weekends there are about 50 people in line by opening time. There are a large amount of tables but they fill up quickly. Because of the 90 minute limit, expect to get a table opening around 7:45-8:00pm if you put ur name on the list. I would recommend either coming before 5pm or putting ur name on the list expecting to wait until 8ish. However, it is definitely worth the wait!! Give it a try during the week for less of a wait time.
