Eden East Will Remain Open Despite Springdale Farmās Impending Closure - Eater Austin
"Beloved urban farm Springdale Farm recently announced it would be closing this summer. The farm, opened by Glenn and Paula Foore in 2009, was initially denied a conditional use permit application for outdoor entertainment but got approval two months later in 2015. It is part of the East Austin Urban Farm Tour and continues to operate scheduled farmers market stands until its closure." - Erin Russell
Super cute venue, not too far away from home! Went there for a friend's wedding and loved the atmosphere. They even have chickens on site! Don't get too attached to them though... š

Not just a working farm, this place is an events center too. Beautiful farm, a fantastic flock of ducks and chickens. Massive peacan threes for shade. And the food is amazing.

Such a fun and neat local farm to visit. I have recently stopped by to attend a Google party and really enjoyed the serenity that it offered. The bountiful crops and on site livestock both appeared to be very well tended to, I would love to come visit and purchase some produce for home. I very much look forward to coming again soon.

Okay, I haven't ever had their produce, but their farm grounds are absolutely LOVELY. That's the only thing this review is based on. I know it's unfair, but if their produce is as nice as the grounds are (I was there for a party) then they're all set. Also I love urban farming. Where can I get some of the produce?

Very large property and nice to know it's within city limits to get fresh produce on a weekly basis. Lots of chickens and ducks with fresh farm eggs. Property was beautiful and full of growing veggies and flowers....A lil hidden gem in Austin!! I recommend visiting....take some time to walk the grounds and see what they have to offer!!

Visit Springdale Farm and Eden East while you still can! Eden East is THE most magical food experience you will have in Austin. Incredible. One example: The chef wild harvested the berries for the desert herself. Omg. Every course was beyond belief. The staff is wonderful. The atmosphere of the Farm unbelievable.
What can we do to help save a remnant of this historic farm? Contact city council. Contact the developers and tell them you want to see the development of this property be a symbol of urban farming possibilities. They need to see the benefits of keeping a piece of this land for local community agriculture and education. If it makes them look good they just might reframe from building another packed condo complex. Come to the next neighborhood association meeting in August.

I've been here twice now, once for a farm tour and recently for a Google event. Both time I just love the feeling of being on the farm. Everything is open so you can see for yourself all the great produce that is grown there. Wish I lived closer so I could buy from their farm stand!
