Yelp
My 100th review! I thought hard about what business to feature for my 100th, and wanted to make sure it was some place that I love. So, my fellow Yelpers, I give you, the SPRINGDALE FARM MARKET!
I absolutely love this place. It is a true, working farm with much of their produce coming directly from the farm when in season. But this farm does not just sell great produce, it also has a wonderful seasonal home goods/decorative section, garden décor, flowers, herbs, vegetable plants, and seeds to plant your own farm (something I have been experimenting with these last 2 years) and a bakery. My God, the bakery!! When you walk towards the back of the indoor market, you start to smell the delicious cakes, pies and other baked goods. If you're lucky, they will have some apple cider donuts cut up for sampling. These donuts are amazing! And let's not forget the PIE OF THE MONTH! We have purchased various pies of the month to bring to summer picnics or other parties, and occasionally get one of their more savory pies for dinner. These are major indulgences, but worth every calorie.
Other features include a small grocery type area, which has pastas (fresh and dried), sauces, honeys, fresh flowers, and other items, all of which I have seen have come from other local businesses. Local business supporting other local businesses - I love it!
There is also a small wine selection, again, all from local wineries. This area has a separate cash register, and sometimes you have to flag down someone to ring you up.
During the different seasons, I know they have different events for families with kids, such as hay rides, a corn maze, and an Easter egg hunt. I have not participated in these events, but I keep saying I'm going to bring my Godchildren.... THIS year, I will, indeed!
If you're lucky, you'll get a glimpse of the farm cat, a really cute gray/brown tabby. He's a little aloof towards the coming and going customers, but if you approach him, he will let you pet him.
As other reviewers have mentioned, Springdale Farm Market can be on the slightly more expensive side; however, this food snob believes you get what you pay for when it come good quality food. I never mind spending more money to get a good, healthy product.
Whenever I meet someone who has just moved to Cherry Hill, Springdale Farm is one of the first things I recommend they check out. This business offers a nice escape in the middle of a very busy town.
