"This little cafe near the East Lake Golf Club serves up flavor-packed variations on Southern comfort foods that are halal. Order the chicken plate with sides of black eyed peas, potato salad, and green beans tossed in olive oil and herb seasoning or the turkey meatloaf with gravy and a choice of three sides. Look for daily specials on the hot bar, too, along with an everyday menu of halal beef and turkey burgers, bowls of seafood gumbo, and fried fish." - Eater Staff

I see why this neighborhood restaurant has such high ratings! The food taste like my Grandma’s. Everything was prepared properly, the beef ribs was sliding of the bone!the Candy Yams are just sweet enough not to much! This is a MUST VISIT Restaurant ♥️

I came in for lunch and immediately felt so seen, welcomed, and valued for being there. The woman serving me gave me the biggest smile from the beginning, was so attentive, and thanked me for choosing the cafe for my lunch. And boy I wish I could come everyday. Maybe I’ll treat myself for dinner on the way back from work! 😋 It was some of the best home cooked soul food I’ve had in a long while, with the vegetables done perfectly right. I am not a big meat eater and I sometimes find that soul food spots overcook and ruin the vegetable, but everything seemed fresh here. There’s also a to go salad bar if you’d like that, but for your first time I highly recommend the hot bar. I had the baked chicken (they give you two pieces which is so generous) and two sides—the veggie rice and the green beans! Both so good! My favorite was actually the green beans. Ask what they recommend; they’ll tell you what’s special that day that they don’t usually serve. You can tell this spot is dedicated to serving the community. Such a peaceful and positive spot. It is also halal and a very welcoming place for Muslim customers which is great. Proudly black-owned. I hope to see this spot stay around for a long time and for more places like this to open around the city! I’ll be back soon—much love to you all!

It was my first time and I got to say I really enjoyed it, the staff are friendly and the atmosphere is very welcoming. We took the ribs and chops and also tried the chicken wings and let me tell you the ribs were soft and cooked at perfect temperature. It was just amazing. They had a few side options to go with the mean like green beans and some eggplant stew which were nice. Best thing is it’s even halal so I’d totally recommend it. It is next to a masjid which I thought was nice.

I came here yesterday and purchased the beef rib dinner with 3 sides. I couldn't believe that my dinner was $37. And I asked how many pieces do you get with it. He told me 3. I received 2 nice size pieces and the 3rd was basically fatty. I just figured with it costing that much, you would get more food. The food is really good, but not exceptional. I think every food establishment should post the prices for the customers. I shouldn't have to ask, how much for every dinner. I ended up spending $65 for 2 dinners. Which is ridiculous for the amount of food you get. I'm not Muslim, but I still try to support Black businesses. But not when I feel like they're trying to get over. I just feel like these 2 dinners was not worth $65. The other dinner was Butter Chicken. I paid doubled what I would have paid in comparison to another soul food establishment. I'm going back to This is It' restaurant down the street when I can get 2 dinners, 2 desserts and 2 drinks for $35.

Wow! Perfect for out-of-towners and locals alike. Amazing food. FRIENDLY service. A real community feel. I’m in town from Boston, and I didn’t know the process to order — but the lady was SO amazing and helpful, and I ended up with the most delicious food. Thank you!! Best zucchini I’ve ever had — the seasonings! Best wishes, y’all.

A little slow when I was there, but worth the wait. Nice, clean, great tasting food!

Google
Great vibe, delicious food. Great portions. I had the butter chicken, green beans and black beans. Amazing. Their Mac n Cheese is legendary. Great dessert and tea bar! Very cool place. I'll be back.

Google
Meat and 3 spot. I originally came for the tea shop that is housed in the same storefront but had to try the food after getting a good look at it. Excellent customer service, well-seasoned food. It’s unfortunate I don’t live closer or I would be a regular. It straight up tastes like someone’s Southern gramma is in the kitchen! It’s got a community vibe. If you’re in the area, be sure to check it out.

Yelp
Good homemade southern HEALTHY food and great staff! There's also a great tea & herb shop, best lattes!

Yelp
I ended up checking this place out on a whim when I saw them on the Too Good to Go app. It's such an easy way to pick up a random dish allowing me check out a new biz so I always keep my eyes open for new places. Springreens stood out to me when I realized that it was Halal and that they had a mission to their meals, so I figured they were definitely worth a try. The restaurant is located in a strip mall and easy to find. Parking is a bit interesting but finding a spot was a breeze. When I entered on a weekend afternoon, I was surprised to see a number of guests inside chatting and eating away as it poured down outside. The restaurant interior is well thought out, with tall sitting booths in one area, a few tables and a nice little stage area in the back. I can imagine that they have large crowds and perhaps, events, in this space. There's also a good amount of space for a line to queue up right in front of their hot bar. The hot bar was full of different sides, meats and more. It smelled SO good in there. I was greeted and let the woman at the cash register know that I was picking up a Too Good to Go order and she quickly moved into action. If you're not familiar with the aforementioned app, it offers some great deals of varying prices at different restaurants all over. The trick is, you don't know what you're going to receive until you get to the restaurant. I ended up receiving a baked chicken meal with a side of veggies, some mac & cheese and my choice of bread, I went with cornbread. The young lady who prepared my plate was not new to this at all, and loaded me up with all the goods. So appreciated! I was in and out within 10 minutes or less. The meal portion was great for me, even more than I expected for $8. The veggies were well-cooked but not seasoned, but with how health is in the country, I don't even blame them and perhaps I could use less salt in my life anyways lol. The mac and cheese was good, would have loved more cheese, but the crust was nice and brown, and it was a good portion. The chicken was delicious! Super moist and juicy, the skin was well-seasoned, best part of the plate. I will absolutely be returning to try more options and see what else they have going on!

Yelp
This is one of my favorite restaurants. I really look forward to the dining experience here; the food is generally on point. The food is fresh, the portion size and the service are for the most part excellent. This was my third or fourth time ordering the red snapper, which is one of the higher priced selections on the menu. They generally give you a generous portion, however this one was very small and seem to have soaked up more oil. I must say I was disappointed that they would compromise without explanation. I will continue to support and recommend this restaurant; I will probably consult with the chef before ordering this item again.

Yelp

Yelp
I heard about this place from a friend and decided to stop by on a Sunday. I have nothing but positive thoughts about this restaurant. It's located inside of predominantly Muslim shopping mall. And I think is Muslim owned and operated so the food is halal. It's a pleasant space, causal with plenary of booth and table seating. The food is cafeteria style. I also saw a stage in the back so they might have some entertainment. It felt clean, nice music, and the staff were very friendly. I ordered the Baked Chicken with collard greens, Mac and cheese and black eyed peas. The food was great, well seasoned and fresh. Nothing was too salty and I didn't feel stuffed or heavy after eating. The food is reasonably priced and they also offer a kids option. I think this is some of the best soul food I've had in Atlanta. The food is tasty, fresh and I felt good after eating. Go support this black owned business!

Yelp
The food is always amazing the service is also very good. The sisters that run this cafe are overflowing with love for what they do and their patrons. That love is palatable as soon as you walk in the door. I come here because I have a medical sensitivity to pork but continue to come back not only for the food but how welcome and cared for I feel when dining here. A couple of tips Friday is their busiest day any other days are really chill it will be steady but not long lines like Friday but the food is worth it either way. Also while you there get some tea or coffee for Jayida Cafe it's always a great compliment to the meal. Also breakfast is only served on Sunday mornings 9-11.

Yelp
Wandered in here for lunch while working at East Lake for a golf tournament and was so happy we found this gem. The service was warm and friendly. The flavors were amazing. I had the whitefish and green beans, and I can tell that everything is made with an incredible amount of love.

Yelp
Everything I ate from this place was amazing. The macaroni and cheese was moist cheesy and perfectly seasoned the sweet potatoes/yams are the best I've ever had in my life. Lamb stew was very good but the turkey meatloaf with turkey gravy is the best thing I've ever had. I will definitely be back. Also, everyone there is very nice and welcoming. Very clean atmosphere good energy looking forward to all the rest of the food.

Yelp
This is a very pleasant restaurant run professionally by nice people. They have food on a hot food bar and you choose what you want. It's clean food - no frills. It's a little too tame for my palate, but I appreciate the concept. Located in a strip mall so easy parking.

Kim C.

Yelp
Freshly prepared hot bar meals. Baked chicken and lasagna are very good. I love that they use basmati rice. So yummy. Check website for daily menu. Friendly staff and good food.

Yelp
From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warmth and the smell of delicious food. I'm so glad I didn't order online takeout because the food looked and smelled so much better in person and the atmosphere was perfect for dining in. I ordered the veggie plate with eggplant stew, lima beans, succotash, and string beans, and every item was excellent! The awesome thing is that the veggies aren't cooked in meat which allowed me, a vegan, to enjoy them. My mom, who is not a vegan, ordered the veggie plate as well because of how yummy they looked. My 3-year-old daughter tore up her little chicken leg with no problems...lol. Mrs. Jamilla, one of the owners, came out and greeted us, and her sweet, down-home spirit put the icing on the cake of our experience. You could tell she takes pride in her perfectly seasoned recipes and cooking with healthy ingredients. We ended our visit with a Vanilla Chai Rooibos tea from Jayida Ché, and it was off-the-chain! We are definitely going to spread the word about this gem of a restaurant! A black-owned business with phenomenal food and customer service!!!

Yelp
This place is a very well-run restaurant and coffee shop. The food is amazing healthy soul food. The only issue that I had was that the food could be seasoned a little bit more. We had the gumbo and curry lamb along with black-eyed peas and mac-n-cheese. The food was made fresh and delectable. Don't forget to try the world famous bean pie which they make in house and it goes great with coffee.

Yelp
I recently went to Georgia for a funeral and the repast was held at Springreens. My Georgia family are a bunch of healthy eaters so my cousin and I had literally made plans to find real food after the repast. Let me tell you that those plans never came to fruition. Everything and I mean everything was absolutely delicious!! The chicken wings were so moist and flavorful, we had to take trays home. We couldn't get enough. The black eyed peas and corn bread muffins, also all the way on point. The best thing about this food is that it wasn't all salted up. You know how you go to a soul food restaurant and they done poured a container of Mortons into the pot. So we got healthy and delicious. WIN WIN!!!

Nisha R.

Yelp
The food is absolutely delicious. I had the turkey meat loaf, beef ribs, Mac and cheese, yams, and green beans.'! Oh wee....I wanted to double back the next day for more! Lol...will def be back!

Ricky P.

Yelp
Hidden gem! It's sort of cafeteria style where you order what they have prepared for the day. They also have a menu of grill type items they will make to order. I've had turkey lasagna, fried chicken, beef ribs, lamb shank, fried whiting and wings as proteins here - all delicious!! I've also had their Mac and cheese, acorn squash, sweet potatoes, cabbage, black eyed peas, lentils, collard greens, zucchini and beans as sides - also all very delicious and well flavored. Although everything is great, my faves are the ribs, lamb, fried chicken, Mac and cheese, acorn squash, sweet potatoes and the wings. That's a lot of favorites, I know, but the menu is just that solid. Gotta get here early for lunch and dinner, not in between, if you want the best selection. They run out of food because of how busy they get. Good to call ahead and see what's available for the day. I live down the street and will frequent this spot. They have no pork on the menu as I believe most of the staff are Muslim ( they're located next to a mosque)

Ashley W.

Yelp
I finally stopped by this place and I was underwhelmed. A friend suggested this place, so I finally tried it out. I ordered the beef ribs, which were okay. It was the best item on the plate. I got rice and zucchini as sides and there just wasn't a lot of flavor. The staff was pretty friendly. I would possibly try them again, but maybe try another entree.

Afsaneh T.

Yelp
Just had a ridiculously amazing lunch here. I wish I lived in Atlanta because I'd be here every week. All the sides were flavorful and the short ribs were so tender and the sauce was just right! The hush puppies were also so good!

Catherine B.

Yelp
I can't say enough about wonderful restaurant. It is rare to find absolutely delicious food, great service, in a clean intimate environment. I highly recommend the macaroni and cheese. It says it all. This restaurant is a must try you wouldn't be disappointed.

D T.

Yelp
Community Cafe is nice intimate family friendly cafe offering halal cooked to order and cafeteria style meals. There is also tea cafe inside serving healthy variety for your sipping pleasure. I enjoyed the halal chicken sausage sandwich.

Jameel S.

Yelp
Food is excellent. Weekend brunch is amazing. And the playlist on Sunday mornings is dope asf!

Iman S.

Yelp
Great local community spot. They have a hot & ready bar with different dishes each day. Today they had baked chicken & pulled lamb bbq. My daughter likes their gyro with fries and she eats all her food. The added bonus you know the food is halal. Their drinks are really good! They have a mango juice that's great. The peach lavender juice is very good as well.

Kiah D.

Yelp
SpringGreens is my new go to spot! I went for the first time on Tuesday and fell in love with the flavorful food, cozy ambiance and super pleasant and personable staff. I enjoyed it so much I went back 2 days later and the fresh veggies, tasty mac n cheese, vibes and cooked to perfection salmon sealed the deal. I'll definitely be incorporating this gem into my weekly rotation! Would highly recommend!!

Umar B.

Yelp
I consider myself a real foodie. I don't mind going all the way to the other side of town for a good meal. This restaurant specializes in great tasting soulful seasoned fresh vegetables.

Thomas T.

Yelp
Being from Tennessee, I grew up on meat and three. So one weeknight when I was too lazy to cook it myself, I stumbled upon this wonderful place. I've since had a few meals from here. On Wednesdays they have 50 Cent wings. I do enjoy their vegetables that seem to rotate. The staff and patrons are very friendly and will help you decide what to get. Last recommendation is to a get a slice of the bean pie. They also have a really nice tea set up I just I've never been in the mood for tea went I've went.

Aminah A.

Yelp
I live 50 minutes away and will gladly drive at anytime to eat at this restaurant. I have ordered from the hot bar and also from the menu several times & I have nerved been disappointed. The food is delicious & there's something for everyone and every mood. If I could give six stars, I would. My favorite thing right now is the sweet heat wings. Try them, you won't be disappointed.

Kyerra S.

Yelp
The staff here is extremely friendly and helpful. I've been sick the last few days and they recommended me some wonderful teas that were both helpful and delicious. I also had the sweet chili wings. THEY ARE DELICIOUS. ORDER THEM.

Nicole D.

Yelp
Good food choices- especially for vegetarians. Great friendly service from restaurant employees and tea cafe as well. Nice music and ambiance. The owner is customer service oriented and food conscious (added menu options based on customer requests). My family and I appreciate this community business.

Thomas T.

Yelp
Great locally owned restaurant. I'm from Nashville and love meat and three (which is basically a delicious meat with some good southern sides). Needing my fix, I went here. The food is a little heathier than mom's home cooking but just as flavorful. I can't recall his name, but the gentleman at the front always patiently helps me decide on my food. Best part is they have a few specials and let you try the food. My favorite day is wing Wednesday. Recommend trying it out if your need a quick meal. Last but not least really like there Mango drink.

Muhammad A.

Yelp
Great environment I love the new management and the changes they did to the menu. The steam table was a great idea to have fresh hot cooked food available. The wait time has completely improved
