Spud Bros Express - Review - Soho - London - The Infatuation

"Spud Bros Express is a small pop-up shop in Soho that’s all about jacket potatoes. The queue, which can skirt down the street during the lunch rush hour, moves fast thanks to the speedy servers dousing the fluffy insides of potatoes with garlic butter before messily scooping on beans or smoky chilli con carne (we prefer the classic beans). You’ll find everyone from people in suits trying to spice up their desk lunch, to friends who’ve been drooling over the Preston brothers’ TikTok account for months in the queue. The jacket potatoes are good without being amazing. There are a few topping combinations to choose from, but we’d skip those (the signature ‘tram’ mayo sauce makes everything too sweet) and go for the garlic butter with classic cheese and beans. It’s comforting and incredibly filling—although we wish there was more mature, sharper-tasting cheddar in their three cheese mix. It’s takeaway-only, which is impractical for something like a jacket potato in our opinion, so if you haven’t got an office to take it back to, you’ll have to find somewhere nearby to perch—if the weather’s nice it’s worth walking to Golden Square to find a bench." - Rianne Shlebak

THAT is one heck of a baked potato! Wow. Love this place. Load it up…the garlic chili chicken is VERY flavorful. Definitely a good stop for a quick lunch. Been coming here over and over every time I am in London!

I had Spuds Bros Express on the morning of my last day in London (visiting from the US, first time in the UK), and I will definitely be back for more next time! 🥔 🔥 🔥 I ordered two spuds, the classic and summertime chicken, and both were delicious, tasting as good as it looked. The portions were also very generous. I shared the spuds with three others and we still barely finished them 😅 There was a queue when I showed up, but it was 100% worth the wait (the line moves pretty fast anyway, so don’t be intimidated if you see a long queue!). Had a nice quick chat with the gentleman preparing my spud. They even gave me a discount when I went to pay which was unexpected but incredibly kind of them. Looking forward to another round of spuds next time I’m in London! Please give it a try if you get the chance, totally lives up to the social media hype!

Probably the best jacket potato I’ve had! The garlic butter used instead of usual butter is a great touch and their famous tram sauce is divine! Worth waiting in the queue for if you have the time. I will say the service was pretty slow but the staff were very friendly. It was disappointing that the seating area was closed even though there were seats available but we were lucky the weather was pleasant enough to take to a local park round the corner and eat there.

Vistited since I saw this on tiktok non stop and it did not disappoint. The staff were so lovely and exactly how you see them on tiktok. The food was very tasty and filling and as far as a mash potato goes it is one of the best I’ve had. The position sizes are really huge and will definitely fill you up.

Food was good, but a little expensive for a jacket potato, I was expecting for the price it would be piled high with toppings, but it just about covered the flattened out potato, I liked it, just didn't think it was worth the price, portion wise. If I was passing by I'd go again, but would travel specifically to go there. There's extremely limited seating too. The service was excellent, very friendly and helpful

Came all the way from Mexico to get a change to taste the famous jacket potato, and it was amazing! If you are visiting, take the time to go to Spud Bros, there wasn’t a long line and the service was fast. Delicious, and 100% recommended.

Long lines if you come late, Chiken toping isn't good, bit oily if you get Garlic butter, overall bit hyped. It's not good as the reviews, no place to eat, ended up in park to eat it

Goddamn! Look i’m not English so I have not had many jacket potato’s in my time but I just know that it’ll be hard to beat the gluttonously grand meal I had from this joint. Crispy potato skin, garlicky-buttery insides, a welcome serving of beans and cheese as well as a hefty slab of tuna. Salivating looking at the photo attached. Enjoyed ours at St. James park. I’m tearing up thinking about how good it was.
