"At Spun Ice Cream in Austin, it’s business as usual to make a single scoop of ice cream to order using liquid nitrogen. The real magic, however, lies in Spun’s rotating menu of flavors and toppings." - Alina Polishuk

I love places with a story. This once starts as, “There once was a chemistry teacher with a sweet idea.” Not only do you get scoops of delicious ice cream made from organic and locally sourced ingredients along with a collection of flavorful and interesting topping choices (for a minuscule additional fee), you also get an up-close view of the scientific ingenuity of Spun in action. It was truly a delight for my mind and my taste buds. My only suggestion would be to add more seating.

This is by far my most favorite ice cream place in Austin -- and I know this because I have been to -all- of the ice cream joints in Austin. The chef crafted selections are always interesting, and I adore the friendly staff. The dark chocolate, when it's offered, is amazing with the chocolate crumble. An Austin Gem you can't miss!

Super cool place! The person today was very attentive, explained the process and was very nice. He makes the ice cream right in front of you. Totally worth it! The horchata flavor was delicious. My husband asked for the smickers (caramel, peanut brittle, chocolate shell and brown butter powder) and he liked it. Kids liked their ice cream as well.

First time trying liquid nitrogen ice cream, and it was amazing! Not to pricey, and they feature delicious vegan options as well.

I live in the East side so I try to support the businesses here but definitely not coming back here. The service was extremely rude. We were the first people in line and had to wait until they took every order in the store before they started making our order (10-12 people). Then our orders were not made in the order of arrival. The woman cashier was fully of attitude and was super unhelpful. My $8 ice cream was very underwhelming and plane and small portion. My friend ordered a root beer float that had been totally frozen by the liquid nitrogen and he couldn’t even eat it so had to get a refund. It’s unfortunate. I would normally have just dealt with the line but the attitude makes it where I won’t return. A group of 5 others also decided to leave because the weird system of taking the whole stores order is inefficient and ridiculous.

Sooooo gooood!!!! I got the GF, dairy free Coconut Caramel ice cream and it tasted like a dream! The consistency was different as it has no dairy and made fresh with liquid nitrogen! So good with the gram cracker crumbles on top! Wish I could give more than 5 stars. Yum!!
