Since 1952, this red‑sauce landmark has been feeding generations with tavern‑cut pies and hearty Italian plates. Its pizza also pops up at Camden Yards’ local lineup, as noted by Eater, underscoring its role in Baltimore’s food culture.

Italian-American cuisine that came right from Mrs. Romiti’s kitchen. God rest her soul. I know because I grew up with her two sons. Food & service are great. Prices are comparable to other area restaurants. Best pizza in town, as are both their crab soups. Hot roast beef sandwich is a favorite of mine. You can’t go wrong with any choice you make at Squire’s.

First time at this location . We stopped in and I noticed that there was plenty of parking in the rear of the location . As we walked into the door there was the kitchen to our left and to the front of us. In order to be seated we had to walk off to the right . We were greeted by a young lady and she was polite and showed us to our seats. Once seated our server came over and asked if we were ready for our drinks . We decided to try pizza and one of the kids got the child size spaghetti. Prior to the foods arrival we got some bread . The pizza wasn’t bad and the kids ate all of it . However the spaghetti had a taste like it had too much oregano in it and gave an after taste so my one child didn’t like it . The prices were from average to high ( children’s menu is posted ) . Over all not a bad experience just wish the spaghetti would have been better .

I haven’t been to Squires in about 2 years but visited tonight for dinner with family and it was a great experience! First the service was excellent! Our server was attentive and she checked in on us periodically but not too much. She was also quick with greeting us, bringing us our drinks and food. Given it was a Friday night, families started to slow trickle in but the restaurant is large so it can seat many people without having to wait too long. We ordered crab soup, buffalo pizza and seafood pizza. The soup was THICKKK. I personally didn’t like the texture as I would have preferred a more liquid consistency. However, I did appreciate the lump crab meat on top! I think it more than made up for the consistency. The buffalo pizza lacked the buffalo sauce tang. Because of that, it tasted a little bland. I can’t say I would recommend or maybe ask for more sauce to round out the flavor. The seafood pizza though was the star! It had pieces of crab and shrimp and the red sauce was savory and well balanced. I would highly recommend this pizza! There is also a large parking lot with handicap spots, wheelchair ramp, and carry out parking spots.

Enjoyed a wonderful meal at Squires Restaurant today with my family. There were a number of celebrations taking place in the restaurant but the atmosphere was not loud or disruptive. The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was outstanding. David made us feel welcome right from the start—warm, attentive, and incredibly accommodating without ever being intrusive. A highlight of the afternoon was the seafood pizza. While it’s usually prepared with a spicy red sauce, my sister and I can’t eat tomato-based products due to acid reflux. We asked if it could be made with a white sauce instead, and David happily made it happen. The result? One of the best seafood pizzas I’ve ever had. Everyone at our table agreed—it was phenomenal! It would be fantastic to see this white sauce version as a regular menu option. Overall, this was a truly memorable dining experience. Thank you again, David, for your exceptional service!

I ordered online and called in because I had a question. The person who answered was very helpful and pleasant. You need to add garlic dip to your menu of dips. The thin crust, pepperoni pizza was PURFECT. MY COMPLIMENTS TO THE CHEF. The delivery was quick and the driver followed all the instructions. Wow, what a terrific experience as always. Staying consistent is the key. Thank you to all. Very much appreciated.

We absolutely love ❤️ squires food never had a disappointing meal, they're pizza is outstanding. We love the meat sauce. We don't go anywhere else. But Squires for our pizza, also the lasagna. And other dishes are wonderful. Atmosphere's always very friendly. Everyone is very sweet. Today. Was such a wonderful surprise the 100th person that called got a $100 gift card. Guess what it was me. I was so excited I couldn't believe it. Thank you again, Squires for your excellent food.

Google
Went to Squires tonight to celebrate 2 birthdays They both had coupons to save on their birthdays. No where on the coupons does it say 1 per table. Paid on separate checks. Manager said it's not allowed. 1 per table. Being a twin I asked what happens if twins both are members of the pasta club and came together to celebrate their birthday. I was told they have to come at separate times or sit at separate tables. How is that celebrating together. For a family restaurant this isn't the way family's want to celebrate.

Yelp
Wow.!! Very nice establishment. I only had pizza but the pizza was perfectly made and the flavors were delicious. I will be back to try other items off the menu and to update this review.

Yelp
I stopped in Squire's to try a meatball sub that a coworker recommended, but ended up getting a pizza as their Monday special was $3 off a medium pizza. I opted for the white pizza and added chicken, mushrooms and broccoli. When the server informed me they no longer offered broccoli, I switched to red onions. The server was very attentive, checking in often and refilling my drink. It didn't take too long for my pizza to come out. It had a nice crispy crust that wasn't droopy. They were a little stingy with the chicken, and a little heavy handed with the onions, which overpowered the flavor of anything else on the pizza. I tried adding parmesan cheese and picking off some of the onion pieces, which helped. I was only able to eat half the pizza, and I took the rest into work for lunch the next day. I would go back to Squire's, but will refrain from ordering red onions should I get another pizza.

Yelp
TLDR: A Baltimore County Italian staple. Perfect for family dinners and get togethers. Don't miss the seafood pizza! Vibe: 5/5. Situated right on the City/County line in Dundalk, Squire's has been in the Italian food game for decades. The restaurant is a sprawling complex, complete with ample private lot parking and seating arrangements to accommodate both groups large and small. Accessibility is also very easy, making this a perfect option for quick lunches and last minute to go orders. Inside, the restaurant shows it's age, but in a nice way (think like a fine patina). Everything has been maintained, with clean bathrooms and dining surfaces throughout the place. Overall, Squire's exudes a "homey" atmosphere. Service: 5/5. The waitstaff at Squires were fantastic from start to finish. My table of 5 was seated immediately by the hostess for our 6pm Friday dinner (restaurant was busy). Our waitress came over immediately and began taking drink orders. Both food and drinks came out very quickly after ordering and we never had a problem with refills. Extra brownie points for providing a pitcher of iced tea without us asking for some extra thirsty members of the table. Food: 5/5. Simple yet tasty American Italian fare with some Maryland twists. For dinner, we ordered the seafood pizza, buffalo pizza, calamari and a few cups of cream of crab and 50/50 (cream and crab and MD Crab). The soups were fantastic, with backfin lump clusters gracing the top of each cup. The calamari was perfectly fried and generous in portion size. But the pièce de résistance was certainly the pizza. Squire's is notable for their crispy yet hearty pies, which are thicker than thin crust/ NYC style but much thinner than sicilian. Both the buffalo and seafood pizza were perfectly baked to a golden brown and generous in toppings. If we had to pick a favorite, the seafood pie would take best in show, as the delicate flavors of the shrimp and crab toppings played wonderfully with the spicy seafood based red sauce and mozz cheese. Overall, Squire's is a solid go to pick for some honest, Maryland Italian eats!

Yelp
An interesting spot. This would not be my first choice for Italian or carry out pizza. But they were able to seat us and feed us so that's a win. Inside is oddly vast and old but not dumpy. Service was pretty good. Pizzas came quickly and decently sized. But the amount of grease on them was unreal. Nothing to write home about.

Yelp
On July 2 four of us arrived to have dinner. My nephew was in a large wheelchair and I asked the "Manager" for a table that would accommodate the wheelchair and allow us to be comfortable and also allow the other guests to be comfortable. She was very rude and had an attitude right from the start. It was embarrassing and shocking that she would not try to locate a table for us "out of the way". This had never happened with any of our other dinners here. We've made having dinner at Squire's a tradition when we visit Maryland and we were all very disappointed in the entire experience.

Yelp
Supposedly a favored spot in Dundalk but this is the second time I tried this place ...not great the first time but even worse Friday night! Slow, slow slow service! Took forever, one hour to get our ordered food. The food is okay but not worth the wait! Too many better places to eat. The waitress spilled my take home salad all over the table. Because we did not have time to eat! The pork chops were dry, overcooked! Please hit me on the head with a rock if I ever try and waste my money here again, please!

Yelp
Food is always good and had wonderful service as well. The meat filled manicotti is hands down the best I have ever eaten. The meat sauce and meatballs are also delicious. Oh and that peanut butter pie- wow!

Krystal H.

Yelp
Been loving Squires for years. Meat sauce pizza is my go to. Good service too. I like their cream of crab and my son loves the Chicken Parmesan

Beata J.

Yelp
Do not visit! If you have a party that you've paid for you're not aloud to dispose of the leftovers the way you wish to. First time heard of it that you can't do what you want with the food you've already paid for

Yelp
Old Dundalk, old Baltimore area favorite for pizza, Italian, ...great bar too. It embodies the past and present of this blue collar, old industry city. It's a large place in the old downtown with plenty of parking behind it. Big space for families, sports teams, or other events. The pizza is good...different. Good sauce. Their special is great but so is a regular cheese pie. The pasta dishes are great. A different type of old style Italian with smooth red marinara. Not fancy...homestyle. Good manicotti. Good eggplant parmigiana. Good. Last the bar is an old but nice one with pretty average beers with a rotating craft. I'd beg them to get some of the nearby local brews from Key for instance. Partner...and help each other out. Squires is good. I'll go again when I'm in Dundalk.
google avatar

Alan B.

Yelp
For the pizza, it's school pizza...elevated. The dough needs work, but the sauce has a nice sweet taste to it and you can't go wrong with the Hormel pepperoni (ala Pizza Johns). It's a solid 4 star rating for Dundalk and 3 everywhere else.

Yelp
Been enjoying squires since childhood . Excellent pizza , diverse menus, consistent quality and here service

Yelp
This is a small restaurant that doesn't look like much from the outside. It's beautiful and homey on the inside. The service was good. The food was amazing! One of us got the ribs and she said they were the best ever. Someone got salmon and raved about it. I ordered the veal piccata. I was so impressed. The lemon sauce was so tasty and the veal was tender. I even had leftovers for the next night. There was crème brûlée for dessert and it didn't disappoint. Our waiter said everything is made from scratch. Don't pass this restaurant up. You won't be sorry.

Larry M.

Yelp
What an amazing eating find! Want great food, atmosphere, and service, give this restaurant a try you won't regret it. We had two small garden salads, a seafood pizza, spaghetti dinner, and we took two slices of cake home with us. We liked the service Tina provided. I cannot wait to return to Squires.

Yelp
Whether take out or dine in this place has really good Italian food. Pizza is the favorite popular meal to grab. There's also a small bar on site.

Yelp
Good food fast service Large servings of pasta. A little drive. But makes for a special meal

Yelp
This was my first time trying this out and it will be the last time. A large pizza cost $30! it was burnt and had no flavor other than the burnt flavor. We were extremely disappointed with the pizza.

Yelp
The Good: We were seated quickly, and our waitress was very pleasant and nice. The establishment was clean and comfortable. The Bad: I've heard great things about Squires which is why I was surprised that my pizza was just "fine." My wife ordered the chicken cacciatore and she also described it as "fine." This is highly disappointing because of a $60 price tag (granted my son had food, too), it definitely was not, at all, worth it. As a matter of fact, the more I think about it, the more I got ripped off. The quality was just not good. I can make a pizza of the same quality at home. Just get some flatbread, marinara sauce, cheese, etc. and you can make the same pizza at home. There is nothing special about the pizza here. For the gravy fries, it tasted like the gravy came from a can. Judgment: Overall, I don't recommend this place at all.
google avatar

Dee P.

Yelp
The pizza is really good. I haven't tried anything else but the service can tighten up a bit, the young women that answer the phone don't know much about customer service.

Yelp
It looks like the biggest restaurant ever from the outside. Located smack dab in downtown Dundalk hun. First off, the waitstaff were so nice. High praise to our waitress who took care of us. I just wish the food was as good as the service. The supreme pizza looked good but the taste was flat. The crust had no flavor and the sauce tasted straight out of a can of Chef Boyardee. The toppings were also lacking any flavor or seasoning. The small Caesar salad we got before the pizza was saturated with Caesar dressing. We also got an appetizer of jumbo old bay wings. Jumbo? More like smallo. I know that's not a word but oh was it small. Ridiculous since they charge a dollar more. I had to drink two ice teas to get rid of the amount of salt on the sad wings. I gave this a three, five stars for the ambiance and service but a zero on the food.

Pete R.

Yelp
Food is not good anymore . Got the veal Parmesan , did not even taste like veal , and spaghetti was drenched in sauce . Got a veg pizza another day , it was not that great , Pizza John's is way better . Dough and cheese quality were poor .
google avatar

Summer B.

Yelp
This was my first visit to Squire's and I must say I was left with an uncertain feeling. I ordered a bowl of Cream of Crab soup and an order of Crab Toast. The waitress was very pleasant and personable. The ambiance was very low key and minimal noise. I would say use your own discretion to visit.

Yelp
I really don't even know how to start about this review! First I ordered food with credit card! The driver never came with a paper to sign for me to leave a tip! So I give him a 10$ tip in cash anyway. I order the stuffed shells, all I got was noodle shells with sauce and meat on top! That is not stuffed shells, that is a cheap mans spaghett. Never again will I order from her! Also when I order from an Italian restaurant, I expect it to taste like an authentic Italian restaurant. #yourSauceWasTerrible Ok update: being that I didn't have my location services on I am in Dundalk Maryland! I live down the street from squires! I live on delvale ave in Dundalk,Maryland! So don't try to down play it @owner of squires!!! Don't worry your ignorance will get you no where! Vinny's Italian restaurant will get my money from now on!

Yelp
I was here for a rehearsal dinner for my daughter's wedding. I hadn't been here in years it has completely changed. The dinning room is expanded and much larger. Upstairs is a good size private dining room with its own kitchen and bar. Absolutely perfect setup for a private event. Out group of about 30 had our own waitresses and bartender and they were the best! Very friendly and did a fantastic job taking care of us. Our buffet included Stuffed shells, pork loin, lemon chicken, roasted potatoes and mixed vegetables. I had everything except the pork and it was very good. The chicken wasn't dry at all, which has been my experience in other venues, and the flavor was great. Loved the roasted potatoes! The veggies were a little bland but good. Overall, five stars for the service and 4.5 for the food. I highly recommend for a private event. I plan to visit again to sample the rest of the menu.

Yelp
After a year of seeing this restaurant and reading reviews, I finally tried them on this past Friday after Thanksgiving. I ordered their infamous Meat Sauce pizza with a side orders of fries. Let me tell you, I was not mad. The meat sauce really isn't 'meat sauce', it's just seasoned ground beef, lol. Which I'm not mad at because it was seasoned to perfection and so were the fries and they gave a nice portion for a small order. My only tiny critic is that they season the crust because it was a tad bland .
google avatar

JenWill R.

Yelp
Terrible experience. I only took my Italian Coldcut to go because I can make it Italian at home. I was ham, bologna lettuce tomato onion mayonnaise (because I added Mayo with the oil/vinegar they forgot to add). On top of it in an entirely empty restaurant, two women walk in with two young children and they are seated right next to us. And the baby starts crying. Makes a lot of sense. My daughter ordered her steak medium rare and it came out over well done. When I asked to get the check the hostess said there was a lot going on right now. There was about five tables of people in the entire place at that point.
google avatar

Ashley M.

Yelp
Ordered from Squires today, as I have many times before, including yesterday. Today when we ordered, I took a bite of my slice and immediately felt something hard. I pulled the hard substance out of my mouth; it was a rubberband! A smaller formerly clear rubber band. I was beyond disgusted, but I called in good faith that they would make it right. The response was we don't have rubber bands, but if I agree to RETURN THE PIZZA, they would send another out or refund our money. I agreed against better sense to have another pizza delivered. AGAIN THERE WAS A RUBBER BAND. Derek says upon my second call oh we use a cheese blend that's not a rubberband, but give us back our pizza. I will never again order from there. Be careful if you do, you may choke on a rubber band, before they ask for the pizza back. I will attempt to attach pics/videos.

Yelp
This review is for their lunch buffet. I was particularly hungry one day and figured I would ditch my low carb diet for one day and there's no better method for carb gluttony than Italian, right? The food: standard fare, with very tired looking salad bar but really good pastas - penne with sausages the day I went. Bread was brought quickly though I decided the garlic bread wasn't as attractive a choice for my limited stomach place as pizza was, and I don't regret that decision. Overall a pleasant experience, food didn't stand out but didn't disappoint either. Fourth star is for service, which was friendly, quick and efficient. Of course I'm serving myself most of the time so take that with a grain of salt if you're not doing the buffet.

Yelp
Not as good as they used to be. Pizza sauce not as good of taste same with the pasta. Used to order Veal Parm and it was a real pounded out veal cutlet breaded and fried now it's a ground veal patty like basic sub shops give. Food is basic flavor not wow like it used to be. If you want to go there you will be fine but won't be leaving thinking God that was good just leave feeling full and fine. Up the road about 1/4 mile is Vinnies Cafe "excuse the spelling" very good Italian with flavors to make you remember it, pasta ask for meat sauce" But they are higher cost wise. Dear squires if you read my review please take it to heart get your old recipes out of mothballs and don't skimp on quality just because you make a little more profit in the long run would you rather make a quick buck or have a steady and increasing income a lot of great places have gone away because of this I don't want you to be one.

Yelp
A very good customer of ours gifted us 4 pies and I can honestly say....some of the best Pizza I have ever had and fed my family. Yours truly....A New Customer for Life. Eric's Muscle Cars

Yelp
I've been going to this place for years!!!!! The food is always solid. The prices may have gone up a tad but who's hasn't. I think $9.50 for six wings is a lil pricey but then the size of the wings kind of make up for what you're paying. If you're a fries and gravy lover then this place can satisfy that fix for you. The beef gravy has that right consistency of thickness and flavor to be generously poured over the fries. You'll want extra fries to sop up the goodness. No gravy left behind!!!!
google avatar

Ron C.

Yelp
It is a classic family Italian restaurant with delicious pizza and food. Relaxing ambiance as well.

Deborah W.

Yelp
I've been to many top notch Italian restaurants in my life and Squires doesn't disappoint!!! Honestly, I didn't expect much; after all it's not NY, or little Italy... boy was I wrong!!! I had the Eggplant Parmesan.... Best ever! My husband had the Shrimp Parmesan and said it was the best he ever had!!! You'll have leftovers for 2 days as they don't skimp on portion sizes.

Georgianne L.

Yelp
I had my daughter's baby shower in one of the private rooms at Squires. They were excellent. From booking to clean up, the staff was professional, helpful and attentive. The food was excellent and the package we got was a great value. All the guests raved about the shower. I would recommend Squires to anyone who wants to host a party!
google avatar

Amanda B.

Yelp
I've been coming to this place for years with my family. The staff always accommodates our large parties for gatherings around the holidays and service is great. Pizza is the staple here, meat sauce with pepperoni is my family's go to order. Nothing like lil pepperoni cups full of grease on your pizza, am I right? The old bay and buffalo wings are also really good. Salad portions are huge so when ordering with an entree or pizza make sure you order a side salad because the regular size is a meal itself.
google avatar

Jude T.

Yelp
If you know the right delivery driver, you can get this pizza delivered to a parking lot in the city on your birthday. You HAVE to try their pizza with bacon on it. In fact, I'm planning on running for the House of Delegates in 2014, and if I am elected, my first order will be to pass a law mandating that all people (save those with dietary issues, excluding religious issues - YOU WILL EAT MEAT AND CHEESE AND PORK, TOO) eat this once a week. The pizza covered in bacon is so good because they will pile on so much bacon, it's hard to tell there is even cheese (I'm honestly still wondering). It had so much bacon on it that I felt like I was was having a heart attack after eating it... As it turns out I was just really drunk and it was cold outside.

Ralph K.

Yelp
Pizza and a pitcher of beer third Thursday every month be there or be square we love it
google avatar

Luther M.

Yelp
This is the worst pizza I've ever eaten. The sauce tastes like wet dog. I know that really doesn't make sense, but it tastes like the smell of wet dog. I just don't understand how people can eat this.

Dena B.

Yelp
I called in an order for carryout and specifically asked if the salad mix was romaine and NOT iceberg lettuce, I was told that it was a romaine mix not iceberg. I ordered antipasto and a Greek salad; the antipasto was two slices each of prosciutto, capicola, salami, mortadella, and provolone, four each kalamata olives, grape tomatoes and pepperoncini, one celery heart and a pile of pepperoni slices, the Greek salad was iceberg lettuce with carrot slivers, four olives, four grape tomatoes , three pepperoncini and a handful of dry feta chunks. For the prices advertised the food was an absolute joke of a serving and the taste was mediocre at best. TLDR: PAID $30 FOR A HEAD OF ICEBERG LETTUCE AND A FEW SLICES OF LUNCHMEAT

Derek H.

Yelp
Food is okay. Use to be so much better 20yrs ago. Service is terrible however. They will take a simple one pie order over the phone on a week day and take 2hrs and make you wait in the parking lot. Terrible staff, okay pizza that's now overpriced

Ann R.

Yelp
Wonderful meal for all of us! We are not local to the area, and we found Squires quite by accident the first time we dined there. The second time, we sought out Squires since we'd enjoyed the food and service immensely the first time. The cream of crab soup is full of tender chunks of white crab meat and actually topped with chunks of crab so large they look like croutons. Both the tomato and meat sauces are are perfectly seasoned and a delicious accompaniment to the angel hair pasta and the tender crisply coated chicken parmesean. Two of our little party decided not to get Italian food, but opted for the hot roast beef sandwich and mashed potatoes, both with homemade beef gravy and the pork chop dinner with nicely done, well seasoned pork chops, a fresh vegetable side as well as a crisp green side salad. Our server was courteous, checked on us without being intrusive, and was quick to note when we may have needed refills. The coffee was fresh and hot and the iced tea was fresh and delicious. Although we all enjoy trying different restaurants and cuisine, we know we will return again to Squires Italian Restaurant.

Yelp
Excellent food, best pizza ever a little pricey but well worth it. Nice ambiance and very very good service been going there 50years

Yelp
Excellent pepperoni pizza! I've been going there for 40 years now, and that recipe has not changed. Good local family running the restaurant and very nice staff. Treat yourself to anything on the menu and you will not be disappointed. Enjoy!

Yelp
I go to Squires for a few reasons: 1. Convenient location, located just across the city line in Dundalk. 2. Never wait for seating 3. Carryout side is super fast 4. Casual atmosphere 5. Decent food with a few standouts; for me, it's their meat lasagne with their rich tomato sauce. Most people come here for their pizza. I would rate them 3.5 stars.
google avatar

Shannon A.

Yelp
Sorry Dundalk friends, but I just don't get the fuss. I will start with the positive though! It's clean inside and the servers are as sweet as can be. Unfortunately the food just doesn't live up to the hubbub. The pizza is average on the same level as Pizza Hut. If I'm going to splurge on pizza it's going to be at Pizza John's. ‍

Yelp
Excellent menu and is a cross between a neighborhood establishment and a place to visit out of the way.Always excellent service and the banquet rooms are very nice for your private occasions.Excellent Italian dishes such as lasagna, chicken parmigiana etc.Always a good meal when I am back in my hometown.

Yelp
I love this place. My boyfriend and I often come after my OB appointments and the food is always fresh and tasty plus Paula is the best server, she is so friendly and welcoming! If you haven't tried Squire's get your butt down here!!!!

Yelp
So let's list the pros: friendly server, spacious and clean dining area, a few nice special offerings, ample parking, good menu and drink list, kid friendly. But, the food is the concern. It's not that it's inedible or anything, it just wasn't very good. Some of the dishes I saw being delivered to other tables looked hopeful. We had a basic salad, onion rings and a cheese pizza. All products I could've purchased in the frozen food aisle of the grocery store. A lot of happy customers enjoyed their lunch. Me, not so much. If you go I don't recommend the pizza. Sorry to say but it may have been the worst pizza I've had.
