"Along with this temple, the nearby Kesava temple in Belur has also been proposed to be listed under the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The ensembles blend Dravidian-style design with Bhumija and Nagara traditions of temple architecture from central and northern India, respectively."
Temple with incredible architecture just can’t believe what the ancient sculptures have in-scripted.
I hired a guide as I couldn’t stop myself from knowing the history of this monument.
It’s very shocking to know that the sculptures have the information about the technology and fashion 1000 years ago.

The Chennakesava Temple is a marvel with its intricate carvings and peaceful atmosphere. The history and craftsmanship here are incredible. A must-visit for anyone who appreciates architecture and ancient culture!
I visited on a Saturday evening. Recommended to visit on evenings to see golden Sun rays beautifully illuminating the structures

A great visit to an over 1000 year old historical and religious place and an architectural marvel. One can easily spend hours admiring the sculptures so delicately carved out of soap stone and well preserved.

Wonderful monument cum temple.. all should visit this place to understand our ancient Indian culture and heritage... Phenomenal sculptures.
Indian tradition and ancient wisdom portrayed here which is not there in our history books.
During my visit, I personally saw a foreigner copying the designs from the sculptures in his notebook...

No words to describe the beauty of this temple. Perfectly shaped discs on the pillars coupled with the smooth black shine is simply marvelous. Carvings on the outside have magnificent details.

Worth a visit if you are in the vicinity. We were at the end of our India trip and had seen plenty of temples, so maybe we were a bit “templed out”, but we weren’t overwhelmed. We looked out for the erotic sculptures, which we worked out were best seen from outside the main entrance way.

Spectacular view of ancient rock sculptures and how they built such a brilliant temple. It is highly recommend to hire a tour guide, he can explain the details very well. It is sad that they were late to preserve the monument in it's original style. Even now, it is more of a tourist place, than a daily place of worship.

A must-visit place in Belur, this site is an architectural marvel filled with stone carvings and sculptures, with a majestic gopuram at the entrance. It is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. I have no words to fully describe the beauty of the temple. The carvings were done over different periods of time. This is one of those places you must visit at least once in your lifetime. If you're a history enthusiast, try to hire a guide. I will definitely visit this place again.
