Bay Area Born-and-Raised Chef Rogelio Garcia Returns to Napa Roots and Opens a Fine Dining Restaurant in Wine Country | Eater SF

"I learned the restaurant will source from Triple S Ranch, the resort’s partner garden; the team there is expected to be creative and seasonally knowledgeable, supplying ingredients that Garcia says will come to life in fall and winter and really boom in spring—English peas, artichokes, fennel and other produce that will, when passed to the kitchen, make the menu much better." - Paolo Bicchieri

I LOVE photographing weddings at Triple S Ranch in Calistoga. It is a breathtaking wedding venue that perfectly blends rustic charm with timeless elegance. Nestled in the heart of Napa Valley, this historic property features a stunning restored barn, majestic oak trees, and scenic vineyard views—creating an unforgettable backdrop for wedding photography. The intimate yet spacious setting allows for a seamless flow between ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception, while the on-site accommodations add to the charm of a weekend celebration. The staff is warm and attentive, ensuring every detail is thoughtfully executed. For couples seeking a romantic and picturesque wine country wedding, Triple S Ranch is an exceptional choice. I've photographed several weddings at Triple S Ranch, and it is one of my favorite venues in California. The unique architecture and decor along with the beautiful grounds provide the perfect setting for your wedding. My clients love having their families and friends stay onsite with them to enjoy the entire wedding weekend. The post-wedding pool party is a favorite! And the nearby wineries provide all the entertainment you'll need for a fun time with your guests.

Hosted a 100 person non profit retreat here in December and it was super cozy, even with rain all weekend! Space has so much character, the kitchen was incredibly useful for storage + set up, loved the dart board, the common spaces in the houses were perfect for small group conversations, and when not raining the property was gorgeous. Very easy working with the venue (being able to choose our own caterers made things easier, and we also ended up having a bbq using their grill). Highly rec!

Had our 70-person wedding here. SSS is a very special place, unique in that you can rent the entire property and host 30-60 of your guests there. It's absolutely picturesque, the facilities are top notch, and it needs very little in terms of decor. We had our welcome dinner here with wood-fired pizza, our ceremony under a stunning 100-year old walnut tree, our dinner on the gorgeous patio, our reception in the barn, and our late night in the distillery cellar. The next day, we had a pool party with taco truck and frosé. Not sure where else you could do all that and have the people that matter most all stay on property with you. A hotel/resort would be triple the cost and way less special and unique. If you are after a luxury summer camp vibe for your wedding, and want things to feel intimate and unique, def consider SSS. There's a lot of value here compared to other wedding options that really gouge you while giving you less, forcing you to bring in more rentals, and lock you into their vendors at a markup.

We had the most amazing weekend at Triple S Ranch for our wedding. We chose the property because we wanted to have a place to gather for the full weekend that ideally also had an after-hours option. We couldn't have been happier with the venue and our guests had an amazing time! Photos by Anna Marks Photography.

I’m aware that Christine and/or Derek will most likely reply to this with some sort of defensive contempt; no surprises if so. Just want to warn couples planning to book their weddings here to document with audio or video recordings any conversations with these people prior to signing a contract with them, and question them thoroughly about discrepancies before signing. We had booked just before the big post-covid wedding rush, and I think they were disingenuous about what they were willing to offer at the time vs how we were actually treated by the time our wedding came around, when business had picked up. We were respectful and diligent the entire time, and were not reciprocated in kind. It was disappointing and dismissive, and really threw our event off track from what we had planned. No amount of facility luxury is worth that. They had a grand piano in the main event barn when we first toured and we hired a pianist to perform on it. When we visited again about a month prior to our wedding, the piano was gone. We brought it up to them and were promised that a new piano would be there before our wedding. It was not. Our coordinator tried to work with them to get one there in time and they failed to do anything about it. We only got a sort of half-assed apology after the wedding by specifically saying we should receive one. They also hired a security guard for our day of without telling us ahead of time, who was incredibly rude to us about using a small bar area downstairs of the main event barn that we were explicitly told by Christine during our initial tour as a selling point that we could hang out in after the main event curfew—without additional charge. When I told the guard that she had said we could use it, he said “That’s fine, Christine is going to fine you for using it though.” What a wonderful thing to hear as a bride on the evening of my wedding :) As far as other amenities that were advertised, the pool heater did not work and we couldn’t get anyone to come out to fix it, so that was poorly utilized. The hot tub was lukewarm at best. We did our best to have a good time, but in the end, would have chosen a different venue if we had known we would be treated with such disregard on a day we worked so hard to put together and make special. To a couple getting married, it’s supposed to be a once-in-a-lifetime experience—they made it very clear that it’s just business to them, and once they have your money, you or whatever they do to stress you out and renege on promises don’t really matter. Saddened by our treatment here.

I am a wedding photographer and have shot all over + up and down California for the last 10 years, and believe me when I say there is no venue as incredible as SSS Ranch. I photographed one of my favorite couples there, and instead of having a traditional wedding, they had a wedding WEEKEND on the SSS property. The property lends itself to a fully customizable experience, with LOTS of variety within the property to do a plethora of different activities, and my clients LOVED every minute of their time on the property, and it was PHENOMENAL to capture. Truly a photographer's PLUS wedding couples paradise and I highly recommend hosting your special day here.

"6. On a separate note, we had damage to our hardwood floors as you were roller-skating on them." Since you never bothered mentioning this at the time, I have no way of knowing if this is true or not, and again, your impulse is to make your client look bad for some reason rather than acknowledge that things were not presented or handled well. The floors were damaged before our event, and I'm sure have incurred more damage in the years since. High heels and handcart wheels damage wood floors more than gel indoor skate wheels, by the way, so perhaps you should ban those if you're concerned about damage to the floors. "Jennifer, it sounds like our property was not the right fit for you, but it is an excellent fit for 95% of our clients." And I am happy for those clients for whom this worked out, but we had the experience we had, and I have zero motivation to be disingenuous about it. It's been three years, I'm not getting anything back, and I'm not the one who stands to gain monetarily here. "Please feel free to reach out directly if you would like to further discuss." There really is nothing to discuss directly, any opportunity to have made things right is long gone, and the way we were treated made it clear that it wouldn't have been a priority anyway. My review was addressed to the public, not to you or Christine. There are good things about the property that I will remember positively and I'm sure people will continue to be attracted to, hopefully with a measure of caution.
