We were going to St. Amand for Mother's Day brunch. I had heard a few things about the place and my mother-in-law decided on that for Mother's Day. She made the reservation, via Open Table about a month before. We showed up on time, there was no parking in the lot so because it was on a Sunday, we parked in the parking lot next-door, which I believe is a dentist's office. Upon arrival, my mother-in-law was already seated, and we had a cute, high top over in the corner, inside. They have an adorable outdoor seating area that is half inside half outside. They have a dining room in the back, as well as the seating in the middle which we were in. Our server was very attentive. Came up to us right away and took our orders. Good thing we put our order in right away because we waited over an hour for our food. My mother-in-law ordered the southwestern scramble, my husband ordered the biscuits and gravy, my son and I were going to split the loaded, avocado toast, and we also wanted the yogurt parfait. Our server came back to us and said they were out of yogurt and recommended just getting the fruit plate. We did that, and it was nice of them to have removed that from the bill since the yogurt parfait wasn't available. To wait over an hour for breakfast, I was expecting the breakfast to be really good. I was taking a peek at all of the food served around us. Portions are rather small. Food is pretty basic. For the avocado toast, it said that there would be bacon, there were tiny little pieces that were almost microscopic in there. Scrambled eggs were mediocre. My husband could barely eat his because it was so salty. My mother-in-law's said it was supposed to have potatoes and cheese, and there was only one tiny potato and no cheese. There was barely any recognition of Mother's Day. Our server, and one other gentleman said "Happy Mother's Day" to us. I always like it when restaurants kind of make a big deal of it. They had live music there, which was fun. Very talented gentleman playing some good music. My son asked for Lightening McQueen aka the Cars movie be played of the TV, very assertive of him but that did not end up happening. Kudos to the gentleman who really tried to make that happen for my son, though! Prices are affordable to high. It looks like it's fine, dining, but the food doesn't measure up. Maybe a dinner experience might be different. My husband said that the environment is fine and if he was just going to have a beer and watch golf or something he would love it, but for this particular celebration, fell short of our expectations.
