St. Charles Hospital

My wife and I cannot say enough good things about the maternity team at St. Charles Hospital. Welcoming a child into the world is an emotional and nerve-wracking experience, but from the moment we arrived, we felt an overwhelming sense of comfort, reassurance, and support. Every single person we encountered — doctors, nurses, nurse practitioners, and assistants — was genuinely kind, compassionate, and exceptional at their job. It’s rare to find an entire team that consistently delivers this level of care, professionalism, and warmth. The attention, patience, and sincerity we experienced made an unforgettable difference during one of the most important moments of our lives. The care we received was truly second to none. A special thank you to Anna, Donna, Janet, Dr. Schraber, and the rest of the maternity team for taking such wonderful care of our family. Without question, we would choose St. Charles again and highly recommend them to anyone welcoming a new baby.

We were disappointed with the labor department. We clearly asked to wait until the cord turned white before clamping and cutting. When our son was born, there was meconium in the fluid, and the doctor immediately clamped the cord. I asked him to wait, but he said the baby needed to be checked because it could affect his lungs. After cutting the cord, they placed him on the table, cleaned him, and suctioned his mouth and nose like usual. He never went to the NICU. I feel they could have done this while he was still on my wife and only cut the cord if there was a real issue. Instead, it felt like our wishes were ignored. On top of that, my wife told the nurse multiple times that she needed to push, but they kept saying she wasn’t ready. After the third time, I told her to listen to her body and push. Overall, we’re disappointed with how things were handled in labor and delivery. That said, the postpartum nurses were great and did a good job, and we’re grateful to have a healthy baby boy.

The medical team here is top notch from the assistants to the nurses and surgeons. We e gone through many phases of life here and they have always been highly respectful and accommodating to patients needs. If I have a choice I want to come here.

I was sent here with enterovirus and could not breathe. I was put in a room in the ER with the door CLOSED and absolutely no monitoring! I couldn't believe it, nobody could see me in the room I was in, I wasn't hooked up to any machines, nothing. If I stopped breathing and died not one person would even see me or know. I waited 8 freaking hours for one single CT when the ER was half empty. I felt so unsafe and unmonitored there. If I ever have an emergency again I will request another hospital. Two stars because the ER attending Dr was friendly.

Took 9 month old to ER for croup. He had been taken from the pediatrician to Stony Brook ER by ambulance the day prior. The treatment at Stony Brook wasn't very good. They were completely packed, with patients lining the hallways in beds. The room we were in was dirty and outdated. They didn't really check up on us often. Then we were discharged after he was given a nebulizer three times, with no prescription or anything. The following night, he was just as bad. We decided to go to St Charles because it had just snowed and it's much closer to us. The difference in care and attention was night and day. The triage nurse and registration were super nice. Once we got into our room, both the doctor and RN were amazing. The ER room was super clean and comfortable. The ER doctor at St Charles said we should have never been discharged from Stony Brook since he had to be given the nebulizer three times, and they should have prescribed medicine for home as well. The RN followed up regularly and was very sweet. We actually felt comfortable instead of stressed and anxious like we did at Stony Brook. We will be going to St Charles from now on.

I just had my second child at St. Charles and the experience was so amazing I wish I had my first child here. From the moment we check in for my c-section we were met with friendly staff who didn’t hesitate to make you feel calm and answer any questions. During my c-section they made sure to make me feel comfortable and walked me through every step of the process. Post op was met with even more kindness and help with anything we needed. As well as the care day to day. Nurse came as soon as you called your call bell. They also were there within minutes, I was never left waiting. In the mornings they have a breakfast spread for parents. A special dinner for two for a night of your choosing. Also, a photographer to take a picture of your newborn, which we didn’t have with our first. I would recommend this hospital to anyone.

Having a newborn here was great. The entire staff was excellent. It's a quiet hospital but the staff seems more attentive and helpful bc of that. Overall a great experience.

I'd feel more comfortable being treated at this hospital if the doctors were more focused on administering medical services instead of flirting and socializing with the nursing staff. Dr. Doni Rivas in the ER magnificently demonstrates that it's not just male doctors who use positional power to abuse the systems that employ them. Do better.

I had a C-section and was moved into my maternity room afterward. The first day I was pretty out of it, but by the second day I noticed the room really wasn't clean -- the floors, bathroom, and some areas hadn't been touched, and only the bed was made. It honestly didn't feel right for a patient to be recovering in those conditions. When I mentioned it to Dawn, the housekeeper, she could not have been kinder. She immediately apologized and jumped right in to take care of everything. She went above and beyond to make sure my room was truly clean and comfortable. More than that, she treated me with such care and respect during a really vulnerable time. I'm so thankful for Dawn -- she turned a frustrating situation into a positive experience, and she really deserves recognition for the pride she takes in her work and the compassion she shows patients.

If I could give 0 start, I would definitely do it. I had one of the most traumatic experience in my life. The only Dr that seemed to care about my situation was Dr Anschel, and the nurses that tried their best to help, which I appreciate it. After being admitted to a hospital in my town for 7 days, I was transferred to this hospital, which was about an hour away from my place, because of the suspicion that I was having seizures. Supposedly, this hospital was specialized in Seizures. I got to the hospital around 6:45 pm and placed in my room. Few minutes after, the nurse came and asked me how I was, I told her that I had a terrible headache and had a very strong pain in the neck and my shoulders. She also asked me that on a scale from 0 to 10, how bad was my pain, which I said: "it is 10 or probably 15 because it hurst a lot". She said she would check to see if she could get something to help me with the pain. I was waiting, and waiting and waiting, to the point that after almost 5 hours, I got off the bed and walked almost outside of the room, saw her and asked her if she forgot about me. While I was waiting, they send somebody to set all the wires on my head to start the "48 hours EEG" to monitor if I was having seizures. I was assigned to Dr. Ciobanu, this person came to my room in a very arrogant and nasty manner and with very few words. Two days after me being there, I got an episode of something that seem to be stroke/seizure type, but unfortunately, according to other employee that was sent to review the wires on my head after that episode happened, she stated the person who set up the wires on my head didn't put them close enough for the machine to register if any changes happened, also the video camera wasn't pointing to were I was at that moment, so I was no recorded either. So this girl had to remove the wires and put them back again but the correct way. Next day,I woke up feeling a little dizzy and with some stomach discomfort, I called the nurse and told her that I wasn't feeling well. She reached out to Dr. Ciobanu and told her about my issue, the Dr denied a medication for me supposedly "because of my condition". The best part is that I'm already on my day 4th at this hospital after being transferred, and there hasn't being a diagnosis. Meanwhile, I was confused about "my condition" as as far as I knew, there was not diagnosis . I kept seeing my tests coming out abnormal and nobody ever gave me an explanation of why those were like that. Another bizarre event was that because of their lack of diligence, they couldn't figure out what was wrong, and decided to send a psychologist. This person did a "study" on me. According to her, "because all my tests were negative and there was no explanation for my symptoms", therefore, she came to the conclusion that I have some mental disorder. As per her report, I yielded an elevation in positive impression in management scale, suggesting "defensiveness" in my response, in another words, according to her, I "portrayed myself in an overly positive light and reluctant to acknowledge difficulties that other people will admit". I guess people had to live their life in misery, sadness, and regrets just because of bad experiences in life. Being positive is not an option. SMH. The part that her and all these doctors were missing was the fact that I have all my tests that show the issues that I have with my body that were done outside Catholic Health hospitals, including MRIs and CT Scan, which nobody was interested enough to ask me for them. After 5 days of horror, I was discharged with no diagnosis, no explanation of what's happening to me, what doctors I need to follow up with, and what to do next. The craziest part was that the day before me being discharged(with no diagnosis still), Dr Ciobanu told me that I would not be discharged until I saw a Physical Therapy, which really surprised me. I'm still not sure why I would need PT if there was never a diagnosis. Thanks to this experience, next time I get an emergency, I would rather to stay home and deal with it until I have no other choice other than being taken to a hospital. Please note: I have all the proof of everything stated here, including tests results and notes from doctors that can backup my review.

Wish I could give a zero Do not go...... Waited 8 hours before taken in, with 2 people ahead of me. Then when I made it to a room 11 hours later at 230am, with dehydration, the night nurse never turned on my IV. 2 DAYS later ended up in an ambulance of to Stonybrook University for 3 days

Alexis in the maternity ward was the absolute worst. Firstly, she never told my nurse that I called to say my IV was going off when I told her through the call button. 1.5 hours later my nurse came back confused, asking why I didn't call (she said to when it went off). Alexis was so beyond nasty she made my entire stay miserable. She was extremely prejudice to me (not sure if it's because I'm unmarried as well) or just for the simple fact that my fiance and father of my baby is African American. She was blatantly rude and nasty to him and it's clearly obvious that it's because she is prejudiced. She told him he wasn't allowed to be up there and had to leave because needed the bracelet to visit me during NORMAL visiting hours. He pulled out his phone and showed her it's 20 minutes past the start of visiting hours and all she did was walk away. She took her time telling the nurses what I would ask for on the call button. She was so rude and had an attitude every time I saw her and spoke to her. She truly should not be working in healthcare with this type of attitude, especially in the maternity ward where it is supposed to be women's happiest days of their lives. After all of this, I was waiting to leave after filling out discharge papers and called to ask if I was able to go. She told me (infront of my family) that I have to wait to see a doctor. An hour later and nothing, so my mother went up to the front to ask what was going on and what doctor we had to see and sure enough she said "I never told her she had to see a doctor". So rightly so, she responded "yes you did, we were standing right there and heard the entire thing." After this she practically shooed her away. Thank God 3 other people in the room heard her tell me this because she blatantly lied. For what reason? She is miserable and should 100% not be here. She single handedly made my hospital experience as a first time mom so much more difficult and upsetting than it needed to be. If it weren't for my amazing nurses (who I feel terribly for, I could only imagine how horrific it is to work with her) I would've had the worst experience of my life.

This place needs to be shut down. Dirty, lacking, and inconsistent. STAY AWAY!!! You will not progress receiving care from this hospital.

Overall the nurses were all judgemental and ba the doctor was very unpleasant and asked if my wife still sticking needles in her arms after she's been clean over 4y years I would never go there again nor would I recommend anyone there they need to fire and hire new staff

5/23/2025 emergency room visit ( finger issue) that took over 6 hours, just a bad experience. The staff casually walk and talk around without being proactive or telling patience where they stand, like people enjoy spending hours and hours staring at walls. The DR/PA drops in for 5 mins than disappears into the night. Its just a real bad case of incompetence and poor management and unless you are going there by ambulance ( and have no choice) please look elsewhere until they fix a broken system.

Worst experience ever, avoid ER department at all costs, 6 hour wait, dumb staff n drs and detox center is dangerous..cops while you wait for hours

This hospital blows. second best to Stony brook. Damn Shame there isn't a hospital on the island that's worth a damn or even has a staff that seems like they "kinda" care. Fuck St Charles. The nurses make you wait no matter how severe the emergency, the doctors are good for shit and have no problem prescribing you the wrong medicine. Just go to CityMD unless you're missing a limb.

Worst Place in History. You call 911 for an emergency. They come to take us to the hospital VERY lackadaisical ABOUT SOMEONE PASSING OUT AND IN and out of consciousness. On top of that they come into the house asking oo nice furniture nice wood... instead of helping my relative into the stretcher and then we end up following the ambulance. Going through 1 or 2 red lights keep in mind they are throwing up everywhere doesn't feel good and basically unconscious, we don't know what's happening or what's wrong and when we pull into the hospital.. instead of checking and rushing my relative in the DAMN BUILDING THEY STOP TO TELL ME AND MY FAMILY. ABOUT NOT TO GO THROUGH RED LIGHTS. ARE WE F****** SERIOUS!?! If it was there Relative on the stretcher unconscious it would be a different story... Staff is lazy, Horrible manners, lackadaisical. Unworthy. Horrible horrible horrible place. Do not bring anyone to this hospital this needs yo be shut down. STAY AWAY

I was administered a colonoscopy this morning in the Ambulatory Center. Hospital staff followed COVID-19 precautions by testing me last week for COVID and ensuring that I wore a mask then and now. Check in today was quick and easy. There is no shortage of nurses here, male or female. There were at least five registered nurses who completely prepared me for my colonoscopy. The friendly and professional certified registered nurse anesthesiologist (CRNA) and anesthesiologist both interviewed me, and consequently, I felt at ease. After the procedure, the gastroenterologist thoroughly informed me about how the procedure went. The post-op nurses carefully provided me discharge instructions. I have confidence in the knowledge, skills and abilities of medical and nursing staff here. Shout out to Yelper Lisa A. for driving me home. You are a God send because it is hard to get volunteers when surgery is the day before Thanksgiving.

Useless, go anywhere else if you in pain. Kidney stones sent home with tylenol after blood shoots out my cock!! Anyplace else in the world if you have to go back for the same thing twice the second time is on them. Not in healthcare or at least at ST CHARLES hospital!!! Go home in pain, come back if we didn't help you the first time. Then call and ask for answers and everyone there can't answer any questions. Useless

I am pleasantly impressed and grateful for the care I received in The San Charles Hospital, Emergency Room. I felt safe and treated as if I were the only patient , equally among each and every one of the emergency room patients that day. while I waited for my turn I could see that amidst so many people who came to the Hospital that day (which I'm sure is because they are aware of the high quality). All those who left before of me was grateful, because the Doctors, the assistants, the technicians the desk receptionist, and "all and every single one" did the best job, even from the moment I entered I received direct guidance and help from the guard at entrance. In Short, the quality is incredible, and I'm sure that is it all these wonderful people who elevate the prestige of "ST. CHARLES HOSPITAL" and undoubtedly the greatness of our beloved country. I WHANT TO CONCLUDE WITH SICERE AND DEEP GRATITUDE TO EACH AND EVERY ONE OF ALL OF YOU WHO SO OFTEN LIVE YOUR HOMES TO HEAL THE PAIN OF OTHER. THANK YOU VERY MUCH AND GOD BLESS TO ALL AND EACH OF YOU....!!!!

The nurses and aids are beyond great, the doctors should have their licenses pulled and the administration should be drawn and quartered! Any diabetic or endo issue be very careful as they have no endo dept or endo on staff. instead of stating these facts and suggesting transfer to a qualified hospital they wait until the end with the information Any diabetic there or having been there I need to hear from!! The place should be shut down

Everyone has been amazing! They go above and beyond with patient care. From the time I walked in, I received nothing but kindness & empathy. I'm in tears of gratitude writing this. There was a time I broke down before I was told I needed surgery and there was a nurse that said "I hear you". From that point on, my whole outlook changed. I needed to hear that and it comforted me to no end. The doctors, the PAs, and nurses are definitely a God sent! I had complications with anesthesia after, I got very sick, and all the nurses and lpns for my aftercare has been amazing! You really have a great team there and I will never go anywhere else. Thank you for your kindness and generosity with my care. Also, the room was nice and the patient next to me, they were also amazing!

nurses were wonderful drs terrible i was misdiagnosed for several days before receiving the proper treatment They also tried to overtest hospital is very understaffed , outdated i wouldnt go there ever again Very bad experience

Seizure control. Took care of everything I needed. Dr.Anschel is a great neurologist. I would choose this hospital.

I have been here for two deliveries (c sections) out of three children. Absolutely loved all the staff!! my biggest complaint is there was no nursery for my daughters birth last year. I needed a lot of help after she was born because it took longer than usual for the medicine to wear off for me to be able to walk and feel my legs. During this time my daughter kept choking on stuff she was spitting up and if she was in the nursery they would've been able to tend to her right away instead of her turning blue on a few occasions because nobody could get to her quicker. The nurses were amazing, but would've been helpful if she was right next to them since I was unable to do more than sit up. Was back there yesterday for my son's eye surgery (six year-old had a laceration in his tear duct after getting hit in the face with a swing). The staff was absolutely amazing, gave him stuffed animals, made him feel special, and he had no fear going in or coming out. An amazing staff experience for a stressful time. I give many kudos to the staff for taking such good care of my boy. I give four stars because my biggest issue was the need for a nursery; which I heard they may not bring back. Which is stressful considering I might want another child and afraid I might take longer to respond to the medicine. After each child I've noticed it took longer for things to wear off For me to walk. If that happens, I would desperately need help and my child looked after in the nursery while I recover. I still have nightmares of her turning blue.

Over the past 25 years I have been to St. Charles numerous times, from childbirth to mammogram to ER for numerous child sports injuries. I always prefer St. Charles not only because of their excellent doctors but because their caring staff is unsurpassed. Last night I took my daughter after she had been hit by a fast pitch in the sternum. They attended to her immediately, did all the necessary tests, and kept us both calm and comfortable throughout. Staff even stopped by to wish her well as they handed over to the night staff seamlessly. Thank you to Dr. Patel who attended her, Dr. Kwan who gave her the all clear, and the amazing nurses, technicians, and other staff. You have the best ER on LI for families with kids.

The fact that it's NOT a Northwell is big plus, the people here are genuinely friendly & caring. They seem like they really enjoy working here & it shows. The rooms are very clean & spacious with new hospital beds. The food is pretty good for a hospital.

Awful care, horrible doctors, greedy billing staff, and THAT is their better qualities! Only the nurses were any good when my late wife was there, and even though they heroically tried to save my wife's life, the rest of the medical staff made that impossible. The worst care I have ever witnesses outside of other Catholic Health Services of LI hospitals. They seem to delight in hiring unqualified doctors and will NOT stop to be charitable even if a patient dies and leaves no estate. They WILL send the medical debt on to collections no matter how many times they are notified the deceased left no estate to pay the bills. Absolutely horrific hospital; one cog in a whole system of horrific hospitals.

Stay away from this place , my daughter checked in , they let her go to bathroom , no one checked after it was to late , now I wake everyday in pain and , sorrow , the physicians assistant in icu , brought a woman in with out asking us to harvest her organs , while she was alive , makes beleive he's a doctor , dr Dan , how insenceative , this is my result , she check in for detox , good job Saint Charles , smh, oh the icu nurses who took care of her were great , but it was to late , thanks Dan , you treated us like my daughter was a dog , not a 28 yr old woman , guess your still there , keep up the good job , didn't even get a do ,

St Charles hospital was my 2nd stop after a nightmare experience at the Southampton hospital ...(within an hour apart..I had to leave) it couldn't be more of an opposite experience. This hospital was very clean, calm and efficient. It was exactly what I needed in my situation! Thank you St Charles and the ER staff for taking good care of me!

The ER nurse Caroline, bearded me and my husband for coming in. COMPASSION FATIGUE?? Find another job! I'm in veterinary medicine and the day I lose my compassion, is the day I leave. 22 years in vet med. Anyways, I knew my husband had the Flu B ( he tested positive at urgent care a few days prior). I've never seen him so sick in his life. He had a high fever for 6 days. He was coughing so much, he couldn't sleep. He works at this hospital, and was treated like crap! I stopped Caroline from her condescending yelling. I said I brought him here! She said well what do you want us to do? I said bloodwork? X-rays? She asked me "what is blood work going to show?" I said elevated white cell count? I'm concerned about secondary pneumonia! I do not sugar coat things and do not baby my husband. Trust me. I forced him to go to the ER. Only after I asked her name, she was nice. She even said "oh when you asked for my name I thought I was in trouble". I said I do remember you when I broke my hand. She was so rude to me. Only after I told her I had a TBI, the night my hand was broken, was she decent to me. She is completely unprofessional. I know being in a hospital is stressful, but when people are sick, or scared, or they can't advocate for themselves? How would this nurse make them feel? She was absolutely awful. She tried telling me an anecdote about her own life when her and her husband and her new born all had the flu. Lady, you already came off so unprofessional, I do not need you trying to "connect" to me or make me feel bad for you! Quit your job!!!!! You're horrible at what you do! The first words out of her mouth was "You have INFLUENZA why are you here?" That's exactly why we were there!!!!!!!!!! She just grilled us with questions like why aren't we using Motrin and Tylenol. She finally listened to his lungs after I complained. She was also super rude to the patient next door to us in the other isolation room. This person may have been intoxicated, but you do not know anyone's back story. You don't need to either! If they're in the ER, it's not for a good time! Trust me! I'm appalled at the way my husband and I were treated. Again, he works at this hospital! He assists the nurses! Caroline should have been a lot more compassionate. Especially to a coworker. There is no choice for zero stars, so I'm forced to give a 1 star.

As a patient of Charles Hospital, I had Home Care from the Hospital. The physical therapy that I received was great. The physical therapists were phenomenal. They came to my house. It started 3/27/2024 and they finished coming to my home on 3/31/2024. The care quality was great. The name of the physical therapists are as follows: Jackie Mannion, Linda Lapp, and John Kennedy. Most of the patients from the other hospitals use St. Charles Hospital Homecare.

I just had a neck procedure done in the Ambulatory of St. Charles. Dr. Durkin did the procedure of both pain and steroids injections. By far the best experience of any hospital I've been to. No more Mather hospital for me. I was never treated nicely or had a good experience with them. Highly recommend from the prep nurses to the operating room staff.

do NOT send your loved ones to the rehab facility for substance abuse. they will NEGLECT you and send you back to your room to die after COUNTLESS attempts of asking for help. lost my dad due to the lack of CARE from the staff at this facility. then was told i could NOT see him when getting the phone call he had passed. buried my dad at 22 years old due to the nurses who were supposed to HELP HIM. i pray nobody feels an ounce of the pain this place has caused me. I love you dad and i will NEVER stop screaming your story.

The wait to see a doctor when you go to the emergency room is way beyond ridiculous. It's been 2 hours waiting so far and all that's happened is triage. They said only 1 doctor working the ER so just wait and they'll get to you some time. No compassion from the shift on duty.

I was in the ER and doctor rutman was my doctor, Connie was my nurse and it was the best care I've ever got. They took care of all my needs and really cared about how I felt. I ended up getting surgery and I thank st Charles so much for taking care of me

ER Triage and beyond .... absolutely horrific. Not even getting into the cleanliness and care, just the lack of bedside manner and decency in general. Do not bring a child with autism here.

Overall experience was bad. Security officer in charge was the only compassionate person on staff. He called Mather Hospital to check on the wait time for me. 1/10th the time that St Charles was telling me. I went to Mather and they were great. Thank you Mather Shame on you St. Charles. In particular Alexander in triage.

Best hospital ever. All medical staff cares and is knowledgeable. I have been taking care of my medical needs at this hospital for 50 years. No Complaints. Hospital is completely wheelchair accessible.

If there was a way to post 0 stars, I would have done it. My husband had been here for 3 days. When you ring for a nurse, your lucky if they come into your room within a half hour. They removed his IV to change its location an hour ago and no one has returned to hook it up again. When waiting for his surgery results 3 days ago, the staff left the second their shift was over and never came in to let the people waiting know who they should contact if they have any questions.

My father (103 yrs old) was in this hospital after a recent fall. While the nurse care was excellent, the management of the hospital decided, without any notice to family, that my father could be released. I received a call from the social worker on the same day of the release to pick a rehab facility so they could free up a bed. This was after I was told they would be keeping him in the hospital for a few more days. This is disgraceful and places unnecessary stress on my family, who now has to have a conversation with my father on the same day he is being moved to a facility we had no time to properly vet. How can a hospital be a place of compassion when people making decisions have none?

Came here for physical rehab and my treatment was beyond excellent!! Truely compassionate, professional, and knowledgeable therapists! I was approved for 3 weeks which seems to be the standard for everyone reguardless ones condition. My insurance would give 30 days with 30 day renewal if need. Believe me I needed more therapy but social worker dismissed what I said on several occasions . She Mentioned sub acute is much cheaper and it's too expensive to stay another week. Said that I had to have family at home to aid me. Very cold social worker which is not good for an excellent rehab center which is the bread and butter of this hospital! Now for the other stuff: The hospital is filthy!! The sink had rings of dirt around it! I had to ask many times to wipe down toilet bowl before I used it. No seat covers. The floors not mopped once in the 3 weeks I was there. The nursing staff Excellent however some and I stress somre nurses aids clearly don't want to be there. Times are tuff so I'm sure hard to recruit good staff and plenty of it as they are understaffed. Waiting for someone to come to take one to the restroom could take a half hour at times with the wrong staff on duty. Had to call triage many times and one time took 2 calls. An unnecessary nightmare and suffering for the patient who already is in pain. Just plan ahead'. Don't get me wrong some went beyond and above what their job called for and I'm so grateful. Now the food is the worst food ever if you want to call it food! It's not that hard to serve real Whole Foods! Put it this way. My dog would turn up his nose. I just don't get it. Example soup was from a mix! People with allergies and special diets don't stand a chance. Good news , I lost weight. And lastly , they are very strict and what they say is word. Many an argument. Bottom line if you want an excellent rehab, this is the place to be but be prepared for all the rest! No excuse for a dirty hospital though.

I understand it is a Catholic hospital and all but I'm fuming right now . I was admitted into this hospital for ovarian cysts. I was very very I'll and in high volumes of pain ! There's a woman that goes around asking if you'd like to pray I get it it's a Catholic hospital like I said . In my chart it says I'm a pagan witch and I do not wish to accept any prayer. This lady rudely enters my room didn't give me a name asking for my name . I said are you my doctor she said no I'm the woman that is sent to pray on you . Not for you or with your , pray on you .... I said no. She said excuse me ? I said no again . She said well what's your name I said. No I do not accept any of this please leave thank you. She then proceeds to turn to my uncle and ASSUME . You are her father you should allow me to pray on her . I screamed no he is not my father get out ! Which triggered me bc my father left when I was 4 which is none of her biz . And then I told her what I am when that's none of her biz she was trying to find my chart to get my name I kept saying get out . It got to the point she went to my neighbor and started praying on her without permission I had to get myself out of bed with my ig pole bc I started getting anxiety . What I'm getting at here is I was admitted for MEDICAL CARE NOT FOR YOU TO BRING GOD INTO MY LIFE !!! i was so sick worried about my health and that was the last thing I should have had to deal with in the hospital !!! I WILL GIVE GOOD NOTION TO THE NURSING STAFF!! They handled it well they came and ran to me and calmed me down in the hallway and set in the hallway with me untill this lady was done doing whatever praying she was doing in my room. THE NURSING AND DOCTOR STAFF RESPECTED MY BELIEFS THAN THIS WOMAN THAT RUNNS AROUND THE HOSPITAL PRAYING ON PPL. There was a preist that came in earlier didn't see what I was but kindly asked before hand and I told him I do not wish for a prayer and he RESPECTED MY WISHES ! He said god bless and I kindly said god bless back and shook his hand out of kindness and respect of our differences. However this lady did not give me the same as he did and I'm very disappointed on how this was handled .

I cannot say enough about the Nursing and Doctors at St. Charles hospital. Clean, compassionate, and professional. I arrived in the er at 8:30 and I was out by 2:30 amazing right? Thank a nurse, Doctor,and all essential workers in the healthcare industry they deserve it.

Checked in St Chuckies for a week's vacation very disappointed could not find the veranda deck so was unable to play shuffleboard. Also was not able to find the pool deck again very disappointed promised oceanview room and all I can see is a flagpole. Was excited to hear they hired a new French chef was highly disappointed was served chicken broth but it taste like they only dip the chicken in it once. expected French sorbet highly disappointed there again. Was disappointed to find out the bingo has been cancelled and they know longer have nightly wine hour. Room attendants are great but not once have I found a piece of chocolate on my pillow at night. I would not recommend them for your vacation. Facility need to do more for entertainment

St.Charles DENTAL in my book are MIRACLE WORKERS...DR.Kerri Logan runs an excellent team of residents.. Front desk clerical & appointment setting is easy as could be... Karen is professional & on point. Check in papers are always ready when your first foot is through the door. DA'S Joe...Cindy... Oral surgical.. Dr.David Parker...hygienists Jason .... diligently all work together for the greatest of one's smile..... a.k.a. Oral happiness....I've never smiled a greater smile....St.Charles Hospital supports Recovery ..detox & rehab center within... myself being in recovery it's a beautiful thing when you know there's a place of support that brings you back to life....I've brought A.A.meetings in and my experience of witness was of delegated excellence to bring the foundation of life to humanity. St.Charles= Hope....Happiness.....Saving lives... The spirit of excellence models within these walls.... Integrity.... dedication=success in our community & family..==== Honorable greatness....

Saint Charles ER is ridiculous. Took someone there who needed medical attention- was not treated. Woman came out and said that there were no beds available, but even then - there were no tests given (bloodwork), or any other kind of tests. Even though there are "no beds" - it still is Not acceptable to not treat a person who needs emergency care. We plan to visit Mather in the morning, hopefully the patient will actually be treated and cared for - What a waste of time!!!!

The best maternity ward. I delivered twins in February. One of my babies was in the NICU for a day. The nurses and staff are so sweet and caring. I was there for a total of 5 days. On the maternity ward, each patient has her own nurse the entire time. It's nice that you have the same nurse for the days you are there.

I took my husband to the ER March 11, he had side pain. The signage could be better . I drove up belle Terre . There was masks at the door with hand sanitizer. They wiped down everything while we waited . There should of been a waiting area and a sick area The admission nurse , he was great and caring . He was diagnosed with a kidney stone . No covid .

The ER nurse who's pregnant was great. However once admitted the service and cleanliness was a D grade at best. The room was dirty, the toilet assist device had someone's old poop all over it. It was so gross we gagged. They charge to have TV. I've been to hospitals all around the country and never been charged for simple tv service or phone service. They charge $7 a day and another $4 a day for phone.

I went to St. Charles Hospital for a CAT scan .my appointment was for 11 AM it was on a Saturday and the place was pretty well empty. first off they make me wait until 1135 to take me in .Then I go into the room and I lie down on the bed .it was pretty uncomfortable and I'm laying there for about 15 minutesThe technician then puts the needle in my arm for a contrast .it was all very uncomfortable but that I can accept The next thing I know they're actually bumping me for an emergency .I've never been bumped from an x-ray before . Can you imagine. so now it's over an hour from when my appointment was to start .they told me it would be another 15 to 20 minutes before they can even see me again .That was it .I told him I'm out of here I'll go someplace elseVery bad scheduling and allocating of resources .If you need an x-ray go someplace else

My Mother was sent to the rehab in October after suffering from a massive stroke. The care she received was excellent. The rehab team was encouraging and readily adapted to my Mother's needs. My Mother especially enjoyed the music therapy. All the rehab staff including the doctors, therapists, nurses, aides and social workers were all professional and took very good care of her. We felt confident that she was in good hands. I highly recommend the rehab at St Charles Hospital based on our experience.

Try your best not to go to this hospital if you can. They are dismissive, don't run tests and never have the right dr's on staff. Not once, not twice, but three times my mom has been in this hospital because of its location via ambulance and all three times she ended up in a diff hospital days later.

The charge nurse Debbie Doka in the Emergency Room put her patient at risk when she dragged the Sodium Chloride bag and line on the floor and then practically wiped the floor with the bag as she tried to get up off of the floor. (She was wearing clogs with a heel and had slipped and fell, thank god she was ok. But her actions afterwards were absolutely shocking and unbelievable). After she hung the bag that had previously fell and rubbed the floor for quite some time, she then tried to use the same bag and hook it up to the IV in the patient. She didn't wash her hands, nor did she put gloves on. Absolute disgrace considering the amount of germs, bacteria and disease are in the hospital, let alone on the floor. Several feet away there was blood and other fluids on the floor! When I stopped her and asked if we could have a new line or bag, she rolled her eyes and continued in silence. I then stopped her again and said "no, I am serious. Is it possible". She then took the bag and walked away to get a new one. When she returned it had the same lot number and colors, which is possible, however it still made us raise some eyebrows, considering the fact that another nurse had given another patient a different lot number and color system. We asked to speak to the nurse's supervisor and that was when we found out that she was the charge nurse, so we asked her for her supervisor and conveniently in her favor, they were on vacation for a week. So we then asked for the director of nurses and spoke to them to raise awareness of the situation. The director agreed that Debbie Doka, RN, charge nurse on duty's action were unacceptable. I hope to be able to speak to the infection preventionist sometime this week to let them know what is going on in their department. Considering the fact that we were there 2 days in a row and saw how the restrooms were poorly maintained, the sinks near the triage rooms had blood and other liquids underneath on the floor, some nurses FaceTime with their children and babysitters, and then some nurses think that it's ok to have medications and med bags touch the floor and still give it to patients, IT IS EVIDENT THAT THERE SHOULD BE A TRAINING COURSE OR TWO ADMINISTERED TO THE STAFF AT ST. CHARLES! The should probably start with a OSHA blood borne pathogen clean up and maybe have certain rules of thumb like "if it touches the floor, it should be garbage and you should probably wash your hands!

I recently had a Thyroidectomy done by Dr. Sher at St. Charles. I haven't been in the hospital overnight since I was 6 and had my tonsils out. I spent one night and was given my own room on the maternity ward. I was amazed at the compassion and kindness every single member of the staff showed. From the pre-op nurses to the nurses and staff on the maternity ward every single member of the staff was a pleasure to speak to. I highly recommend the hospitals yogurt parfeits . Thank you to the staff for making the first 24 hours after my surgery so easy!

AWFUL hospital. I went to detox and I was there for one night. I was asked to urinate in a cup and I couldn't because the drugs I was detoxing from cause URINARY RETENTION, but one of the fat nurse dudes said that's not true. It's completely true I have no idea how he got his degree. Then I asked for a catheter because I had tried to urinate 5 times. He laughed it off and walked away. I was kicked out of the hospital at 5 in the morning after being told the doctor would speak to me about it. This man never told me his name but he worked the night shift in blue scrubs and was heavyset and spent most of his time flirting with a nurse watching Netflix on her phone. The overnight staff were watching movies on their phones and browsing the internet for fun. They are not qualified. This place hires anyone. DO NOT GO HERE. DO NOT GO HERE.
