On the Grid : St. Clare Parish

"Designed by Arthur W. Holmes, St. Clare's has come to be recognized as one of the city's architectural gems because of its age, stature, and because it is one of the few churches in Toronto built in the Renaissance Revival style. It was placed in the City of Toronto's Inventory of Heritage Properties in 1992. Inside there is an abundance of religious art, such as sculptures, stained-glass windows, ceiling ornaments and wall motifs that can inspire some very classy patterns. However, the most beautiful piece of art is the organ on the gallery." - Equal Parts Studio

Attended a funeral here. Parking is a challenge. The priest who performed the mass was what encouraged me to leave this review. He was the first priest at a funeral that explained the procedure. This is something I REALLY appreciate. "If you're catholic: you can receive the Eucharist this or that way; if you're not: you can remain seated or receive the Eucharist this way". Fantastic! Thank you! Another appreciated event was when he spoke his message about hope. Clear. Concise. Obtainable in three easy steps. I walk away with that. Thank you. I didn't rate 5 stars because there are only two toilets in the whole church! It was a long wait.

St. Clare church is home for many from all walks of life. We were blessed with many wonderful priests that served the church and the community of St. Clair. St. Clare’s church has it’s unique beauty that allows one to feel the comfort of being in God’s house and to be able to feel the Spirt of Christ within us, by only sitting in one of the many pews in silence staring at the beautiful painting above the Altar. One may relocate away from the St. Clair area, but we find ourselves always coming back home to St. Clare church because of it’s warmth, spirituality, strong community sense and the wonderful priests that welcome us back with open arms and a open heart! May God protect all Catholic churches and may God guide all priests to serves our Churches and our communities with patience, strength, courage, humility , faith and love in their hearts. God bless our churches and our beautiful priests.

The priests at St. Clare's church are awesome. They are so inviting to their people. They invite questions and problems. No judgment. ... just answers and acceptance. You feel like you belong. They plan all kinds of groups that you are bound to belong to one of them. They are so humerus you want to spend time with them. God bless them...

We came here while visiting family in Toronto. The service was great. The priest here was very genuine during his homily almost as if he was speaking to friends and family rather than strangers. As we were leaving, he took the time to ask us if we were new since he didnt recognize us. We will definitely come here again if we are ever in the area.
