St David's Hospital

I found all the staff pleasant and helpful. There was plenty of parking, beware to register your vehicle on arrival as there's a penalty for failing to comply.

Awful experience with a member of staff called Abigail Smalley. Felt dismissed and her attitude was awful.

Unfortunately I have been in St.Davids Hospital for about 2 months now and and found the staff to be excellent also food is pretty good too.

A marvellous little hospital. All the staff I encountered were lovely. My specialist consultation went really well and I was thoroughly satisfied. My only concern is my appointment overran (I can inadvertently derail any meeting because I’m “a bit chatty”) Apparently the parking is limited to two hours and the parking enforcement company fine quickly and often. But the lovely administrator sent them an email saying why I overstayed. I guess now we wait and see. EDIT: The parking enforcement company extended my stay, so no fine, and I’ve updated the review to 5 stars.

Had to see emergency dentist today with very severe toothache. The dental nurse who made the appointment (when I phoned the emergency line) was knowledgeable and empathetic. The receptionist, the dentist and the dental nurse in the dental hospital were really nice and efficient and explained everything well. Both the dentist and the dental nurse even phoned me a few hours later to see how I was. Can not get a better service. Thank you lots.

First of all at reception communication barrier on where the dental department was. On arrival I found staff quite rude and not particularly helpful.

I have a massive phobia of dentists but bit the bullet as I had a broken tooth and tooth pain, as everyone knows tooth pain is horrendous. The staff were amazing! Very reassuring and sympathetic were calm and explained everything before treatment..

Just wanted to say to the amazingly lovely dentist and dental nurse who treated me the other Sunday. The dental nurse was incredibly lovely, kind and compassionate and put me at ease, she was like a guardian angel. The dentist was equally lovely and caring and he was also so funny to boot. Thank you both so much and to all the staff at St Davids emergency dental hospital 🏥 you're the best

Built on the site of the former Victorian St David's Hospital, which closed in 1990, the all-new hospital opened in March 2002 offering brand new facilities to their mainstay: older people and rehabilitation patients. It is the first new hospital to have opened in Cardiff for 30 years. Today the 100-bed building includes a range of purpose-designed facilities including a 25-place day hospital and four wards dedicated to the care of older people. Patients have been relocated from the Royal Hamadryad and Lansdowne Hospitals. The Day Hospital is open five days per week and provides all-new amenities and furniture. St David's also offers: *Podiatry Services *Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Services *Respite Care *A community-based children's centre for West Cardiff *A primary dental care unit *A range of out-patient services.

My experience is only of the Acute Response Team, based at ST Davids. Parking is easy and convenient (remember to log your registration number at reception). Reception staff are very helpful and friendly, the hospital and grounds are very, clean quiet and relaxed. I cannot speak highly enough of the acute response team - caring, efficient, friendly and treat you with respect.
