The baked goods are yummy, but at what cost to my wallet and soul? Customer service has been mid at best the 3 times I've been here, which in a way makes it more authentically French? The prices are insane, $15 for one bakery quiche should be illegal. They wouldn't make my cappuccino an 8oz because they only "do one size", so it mostly tasted like frothy, warm milk.

Went in hoping for and craving an authentic French pastry (choquettes). I had heard online and through friends this place is authentic and one of the best in Portland, I found that to be not the case. The pastries were disappointing and not authentic at all. The choquettes tasted off and had barely any sugar over any of them. I also picked up an eclair which, once I inspected it, had obviously been frozen and was simultaneously mushy and hard and did not taste great. When I was there I also noticed that the croissants in the case were huge and very American looking, like something you'd see at a grocery store here, not appetizing at all. I don't understand why Americans settle for bakeries of this quality. I can only assume there's no other competition in this city if people think this is good. Save your money for a trip to France, don't buy this crap. Employees were nice, nothing is their fault, make better food.

Pastries are fine, but I was just blown away with my lunch experience. I paid nearly $15 for a pre-made sandwich, I'm not sure if they'll even make a fresh one. I ordered a turkey and cheese croissant because I wanted a sandwich and I was hungry. The side salad was a nice touch but my sandwich was nearly unedible. It was overblown with bechamel, who puts that in a sandwich? There was so much it turned the croissant soggy and I could not pick it up to eat. I ended up taking it all apart and just eating the tiny piece of turkey. Not sure if I found any actual cheese in there.

Ordered take-out of mocha, Parisien Ham Sandwich, Chocolate Eclair, Almond Croissant, and a hot mocha. The sandwich was absolutely fantastic, the bread was not hard and the ingredients were fresh. The Almond Croissant was probably one of the best I have had. I did not enjoy the Eclair; the filling was good but the breading/pastry itself had an odd texture. Mocha had too dark of espresso for me but was decent besides that. I can't wait to try there other bread and pastries!

The pastries here are really good, but the prices are so high that it doesn’t seem worth it. I was also put off when I realized they charged me for whipped cream for a drink that came with it. They also are often out of sandwich items, even if you get there before 9am. I want to love this place, but it’s a frustrating experience when it’s pricey, and they are out of a menu item for days.

Am happy to have St Honoré in the neighborhood but this location is very inconsistent. Agree with other reviews that the layout is odd. Arrived today for lunch and many items already sold out. Ordered the quiche lorraine and there was barely any egg! When paying $15 for quiche you'd expect a bit more. :(

Been a St Honore customer ever since they opened on NW Thurman. Favourite sandwich is the Pear Bartlett with Brie. Today, I stopped by the Macadam cafe and was very disappointed with the service of one of their staff named Josh. He was very rude and unfriendly. He shouldn’t be in customer service!

I want to like this place so badly, but today it was just off. The tough part is that we have been going through a heat wave and you can tell the staff are really stressed out and going thru it! This is when I would contact the owner and say hey let’s figure out a way to get an air conditioner in here for these people because the place was frying inside. I do feel bad for them. I came during lunch time and due to this they could no longer serve hot food because it was just not safe at that point which I appreciate them letting us know. We only had really one sandwich option besides a beet salad and we were hungry. The food was decent under the circumstances. I hope they figure this out for the people working there and for future customers.
