St. James

I travel often for work and tried St. James for the first time while in Thomasville. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, with a warm, stylish atmosphere and a great bar. Cocktails were excellent, and the service was fast and genuinely friendly. I ordered the pork chop, which was cooked well, but the sweetness wasn’t really to my taste. The gratin potatoes were flavorful but a bit too oily for me. Overall, a nice spot with a great vibe—worth checking out, especially for drinks and atmosphere.

Amazing! This is the second time my mom and I enjoyed an evening here. Cindy our waitress, we have had the pleasure of having her both visits. She is sure to please,any questions; drink recommendations, oyster break downs. Very informative. Very personable, we love her. The atmosphere is inviting and unique. The oysters are a must have, followed by a drink (lemon drop martini) my moms new favorite , the main course delish (I had the pork chop and mom had the chicken) and to top it off with their famous bread pudding. I highly recommend!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I absolutely love the food and the staff here, but the sound volume is unbearable... It's such a shame, this would be my favorite place to eat and hang out in Thomasville. I just went for the second time had a great meal!.. but unfortunately I will not return because of the noise level, there are drunk people just screaming over the top of each other to be heard, I feel sorry for the staff they must go home with ringing ears, Please, please, please, put some soundproofing in the ceiling.

An overall great experience! Servers were pleasant and knowledgeable of the menu. The Sticky Ribs were yummy but The Pork Chop was amazing. Juice. Tender. Full of Flavor. This place is perfect for a date night or dinner with friends.

Wonderful restaurant full of amazing staff members. The food was delicious and picked with great flavor. I had Kelly as my server today and she was excellent, I definitely enjoyed myself and she played a huge part in creating a great atmosphere.

Absolutely love this restaurant. This place is hand down a gem. The menu that Adam and Bethany have created is utterly delicious and crave-able. My favorite dish is the Triple Tail. I know there are two different steaks, pizza options, and a raw bar (which are on their own impeccable); however this triple tail dish has my taste buds in a vex. The cocktails that are crafted here are second to none and the wine list is extensive and accommodating for all different palates and prices. My wife and I love when we get to have Kelly as our waitress. She is so sweet, knowledgeable and polite! If you’ve ever wondered if you should try this restaurant out, just do yourself a favor and go. You won’t regret it. My husband and I celebrated our 30th Anniversary at St. James. It was amazing! The appetizers were as delicious as the meal. Our waitress was the wonderful Kelly! She was very patient in answering all of our questions and making our experience the best! We will definitely be back!

Went for dinner with my family on my birthday this week. Very beautiful restaurant with a casual vibe. We started off with a half dozen oysters and a couple of appetizers. The oysters were incredibly fresh and flavorful. We also really enjoyed the Korean wings, and the Sticky ribs were quite nice as well. Then came the entrées... We were a bit disappointed here because the quality of the meats and fish was very good. Everything was cooked beautifully and incredibly fresh. Unfortunately, all of us found our mains to be too salty, with the exception of the fish, which was quite bland. Overall, we found the oysters and appetizers to be strong enough contenders that we'd come back for those, but the mains needed a bit of work.

While this place is quite loud, the menu and service are top notch. We went for a date night and had a wonderful time with the server that was assigned to our table. She was so nice. The food was excellent. We had scallops, a bottle of wine, and two entrees, all delicious. We can't wait to go back and even bring friends with us.

The St. James Restaurant in Thomasville, Georgia is a restaurant we have passed on countless trips from Tallahassee to Thomasville for a day of shopping and dining. Why we never stopped to enjoy this restaurant until recently, I'll never know. It's situated on US 319 before you actually reach the downtown Thomasville area. Most of our trips have centered around the Broad Street, Jackson Street, Remington Avenue, Smith Avenue, and US 84 shopping areas. This restaurant is completely modern and totally charming. When you enter the restaurant, you are immediately greeted by a bakery case that implicitly reminds you to make sensible choices to leave room for dessert! There is a full bar available and also seating at the bar for refreshments or dining or both. There is plenty of restaurant dining room seating in the main room and there's also a more private area which I surmise is used for the evening overflow of dinner or private functions. Our host and server both greeted us promptly and courteously. Servers are uniformed in jeans and white shirts, so the atmosphere is completely casual. My dining companion ordered the hot chicken sandwich, including a hot fried chicken breast, apple slaw, hot honey, pickles, on a brioche bun. I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich, including a herb marinated chicken breast, lettuce, tomato, truffle mayo on a brioche bun. Both sandwiches were served with fries, including pecorino, truffle, garlic, and herbs. The sandwiches and fries were delicious and served hot from the kitchen! Although the dessert case beckoned us, we had not saved room for dessert and because we were still doing additional shopping we were unable to keep desserts fresh in a very hot car on a hot summer day. This only reinforces our desire to return to this restaurant and perhaps just for the dessert course next time. What a lovely restaurant option in Thomasville. The sandwich options make a wonderful lunch with friends or family. We will certainly return to this restaurant again! Kudos to the owners who have found such a warm caring group of people to serve the Thomasville community!

Enjoyed last years menu best. Noticed the Rest Menu posted is NOT what's before you now. No Octopus, replaced with.. French Fries? BBQ Ribs, good but fatty. Great sauce. The Korean Wings were not as good as recommended. Fig and Duck Pizza outstanding and made mistake not getting 2. Had Mushroom pizza and was like eating rock salt. Bread pudding was cold in middle and small portion. Yes, restaurants are changing for higher margin but C'mon, fries as a replacement for Octopus? Main features seem expensive for what's plated. Before we return and patronize this restaurant, will definitely call ahead for the real menu, and if it is like the same, sad to say we more than likely will opt for another option. Don't mind paying for exceptional but, this has obviously changed to suit margins.

Absolutely delicious. One of the best meals I've had in a while. The Brussels sprouts and sticky ribs were phenomenal. The scallops are to die for. The bread pudding was exceptional. The star was that spicy margarita. It was perfection. My new go to spot. Great job.

Don't bother! Expensive, mediocre! Had a mushroom pizza which last time I had it there was a scant amount of mushrooms. I asked waiter to make sure there were mushrooms.., charged extra! Had a ceasar salad, which was charged $4 extra for anchovies. Asked for a half pour of wine (terribly expensive drinks) and nope. They don't do half pours.

Great food and service. Excellent selection of oysters and the wood fired oven pizza looks great even though we didn't get to try it this time. Sleek modern decor adds to the experience. Highly recommended.

For starters the ambiance is amazing. The service was top notch and the food was 5 star all day long. Great cocktails, amazing fresh oysters, lobster fettuccine A+, strip steak as good as any I've had! Bourbon bread pudding and key lime tart on point !! Thomasville is lucky to have this place.

We drove from Tallahassee and the food and service were top notch . Everyone was super friendly and its always reassuring to see the owners helping out. The ambiance is very modern chic. We sat at the bar and Tiffany was very sweet and informative and made excellent drinks The Oysters are super fresh, full of flavor and its always best when you get to pick where they come from. The Sticky Ribs were insanely good, definitely stole the show. The Fig And Duck Pizza was very outside of the box thinking and i love a chef that experiments with his menu. It was light and the flavors were subtle, definitely a great option for lunch but we wish we tried something more rich like the risotto. You must save room for dessert because The Bread Pudding was to die for so soft and fluffy not overpoweringly sweet. Overall, we fell in love with the food and excited to come back for more!

Everything was amazing. From my old fashioned to the hangar steak, to the carrot cake and the most flavorful coffee I have ever had! We had the best evening and the service was top notch also! Treat yourself to this gem!

Had dinner last evening with two dear friends from Tallahassee. I had the lobster with homemade pasta and I don't say this lightly - it was one of the best 5 meals I've had in my entire life. The whole meal was spectacular. Rebecca our server offered great suggestions from pre- dinner cocktails, to wine, main course and dessert. This is my second visit and I would recommend it to anyone. What an awesome jewel in beautiful South GA. I wish I could give St. James more than 5 stars.

Ahh, St. James, what a wonderful surprise we happened upon. We were downtown for Victorian Christmas and knew finding anywhere to eat in that area would result in a multi hour wait. I asked one of the shop owners for a recommendation that was a little bit away from the craziness of the event and he recommended St. James. We were able to get a last minute reservation and off we went! Our server Kelly was so cute, she had the most charming personality and made sure to check on us often. The decor and atmosphere of St. James is BEAUTIFUL, we all ooh-ed and ahhh-ed when we walked in. We all got cocktails, a few appetizers and entrees. The standout dishes were the seafood risotto, everyone gushed over how good it was and the duck pizza. The fries get an honorable mention. This was definitely one of our favorite spots of our trip, we were so thankful for the kind local steering us to St. James!

I don't have anything bad to really say about this establishment. We had an 8 pm reservation for 7 so they put us in a private room and had us a wait a few minutes while the room was prepped in a nice-sized bakery area. The restaurant itself is small, quaint and intimate with a woooonderful aesthetic. A nice full view of the bar and kitchen from the main dining area. Our waitress was Renee and despite the sniffles which gave me admittedly a little heartburn was great! Kind, patient and attentive. Now onto the food. It was fantastic and came relatively quickly. The milk buns were yummy, tasted like doughy clouds. They come 3 to a serving. I didn't order any drinks but the margaritas were claimed to be the best my girlfriends had ever tasted. Someone got the pear tree and it was a major miss. I had the duck flatbread and it was so tasty, they weren't skimpy on the duck and flavors of fig and lemon took this over the top. Someone got the risotto and said they wished the fish was cooked longer. The flavor of the risotto itself was not my cup of tea. The burger and fries were tasty. The other flatbreads were enjoyed by the other ladies in the party. The duck breast was solid according to the friend that got it. Now onto dessert. I love bread pudding and I give theirs a 7/10, but the ladies at my table loved it. We are sharers. :0) They also got the salted caramel blondie and the flavor was almost too much. Nevertheless, wouldn't hesitate to return.

This place was so good it made my whole day !! It's gorgeous inside and I wanted to order one of everything on display. We ended up getting lattes that were perfect, and yogurt bowl and sausage, egg, and cheese croissant that crushed. Also, we got the beignets and our toddler loved them! We had to get a second one for the road for him. The owner and the other gentleman working couldn't have been friendlier. We're so excited to go back for dinner:)

Heard some rumbling about all that's been going on at St. James. Still hadn't eaten there but decided to give it a go. Made reservations for a party of six. Specialty cocktails were very good. Octopus, Brussels for apps were tasty. Entrees included surf and turf, chicken, baked oysters (at $32 per dozen!) and pasta. It was all fine just not memorable. I guess I had high expectations. Lovely ambience but limited, pricey menu. I've heard good things about lunch so I'll give that a try and see if my opinion changes.

Date night didn't go well for my fiance and I. Food was overpriced for the quality. Room temperature entrées and kitchen staff gazed at me the entire time. Definitely not going back.

This place never disappoints. I have brought several guests here as it is one of my go to places for its mix of casual elegance and interesting array of food which is all prepared very well. Super tasty and never bad service once. The drinks are delicious as well. Looking forward to more visits.

This weekend was my third time eating at St. James, first time going for lunch rather than dinner. First of all the restaurant itself is gorgeous and always has a lively, exciting atmosphere. The service is terrific. But the food is the star, for sure. The sourdough bread made in house is to die for. The sticky ribs and deviled eggs are phenomenal for appetizers. Yesterday at lunch I had the roasted turkey sandwich and it was like Thanksgiving on a plate! 2 people in my party had the steak sandwich and a third person had the hot chicken sandwich. Everyone raved about their sandwiches and couldn't get over how delicious the fries were! I highly recommend St. James if you are ever in Thomasville!

I am not sure what to say about Saint James Place. We had reservations for a special occasion and were promptly seated. We wanted to order wine before dinner. The wine prices were on the high side. They had limited selection, and then they had wine on tap. We ordered a few, and none of them were worth the price. I went to the kitchen area to look over the area and oysters. I am not sure what their business model is trying to be, but they do fly oysters from all over the country and they were beautifully presented. I don't know how they keep them fresh because I did not see that many orders of oysters go out the kitchen. They had a beautiful copper wood fired stove so pizza looked tempting until I saw some on the tables. The birthday girl ordered a hamburger, a Wagyu burger. The French fries were perfect. Half the burger was left behind. She also ordered Brussel sprouts which were shaved, mixed and molded. It was her favorite dish of the evening. I ordered the Burrata salad which was my favorite part of my meal. I ordered the black grouper and a side. How can a seafood restaurant that has oysters- NOT have cocktail or tarter sauce. My fish was dry and overdone so I needed something for it. I was brought their version of a sauce that had a nice spice to it but didn't go with the fish. We ordered a dessert. I will give this place another chance but if I am going to spend over $100 on my meal, I would like it memorable. They serve brunch and I'll try that.

Traveled from Tallahassee with high hopes which were put to bed quickly. No greeting when we arrived, never got the waitresses name, never asked how our food was. The problem is that we were a younger group (28-30) with 6 people in our group, and we felt that we were discriminated against because of our age. The margarita pizza we received looked like a Chuck-E-Cheese personal cheese pizza. No moz and 4 basil leaves. The pineapple margarita my fiancé ordered for her 2nd round looked much different and tasted like mixers were forgotten. When notifying the waitress of this, she replied with "i don't know why" and was anything but personable. We understand a Friday night can be busy, however we were a pretty easy group. Disappointed with the service and the quality of a "fine dining" establishment. Hopefully good front of house management is hired soon. I've had better experiences falling out of trees.

We just had the most beautiful experience. Date night is so important to us. This by far exceeded our expectations. From the reservation (online said earliest available was 8pm, called and they were able to get us the time we wanted) the service was impeccable. We had the burrata salad and sticky ribs for apps. Short rib pasta and special steak dish for entrees and because we had to, the street corn and truffle fries to go with. All absolutely incredible. Oh and bread pudding from heaven for desert. Several specialty drinks. So delish. Price was perfectly fine I was excited to pay my tab and conclude with letting the staff know that we as patrons are thrilled that they are exuding such great spirits and enjoying their jobs, we can tell when staff members are happy and treated well. This place is a definite must do at least once a week. We will be back and often and thank you for doing a phenomenal job. Thomasville needed you.

Great place for a relaxing lunch. Went there with my mom, she had the chicken salad on a croissant and I had the grain bowl both were very good. Server was very pleasant and attentive.

We hosted a dinner at St. James. Our appetizers, flatbreads, main courses, and desserts were all excellent. The food, service, and atmosphere exceeded our expectations! Thank you for a memorable evening!

Scallops are excellent! Bread pudding is a must. Some growing pains with staff but you must try this culinary treat.

The ambiance is quaint. Great piped in jazz music. From seating to eating everything was wonderful. We will definitely be back.

Went to st James for breakfast, the staff was super complimentary and helpful. Had the breakfast burrito and a cappuccino, it was amazing. Not to mention the whole place is very aesthetically pleasing. Highly recommend

I came for lunch and this restaurant was excellent. The service was first-rate and the food was phenomenal. Because I have access to some excellent restaurants in Atlanta, I forget how difficult it is to really dish out a truly gourmet hamburger, but St. James had it spot on! I look forward to enjoying the rest of their solid menu.

One million stars out of Yelp's 5!!!!! I'll admit, I'm tough on restaurant reviews as my traditional education is in hospitality... think the guy from Ratatoullie. St James seriously blew me away. The menu is small but very well thought out and inventive without being too complicated. The price point is great for a special occasion without being insane- steak frites $25. Deviled eggs with the caviar is just divine and certainly worth a try even if you don't typically do an appetizer! Steak was slightly over cooked but I'll happily overlook it because it was so flavorful and juicy. Fries were some of the best in the area. Wedge salad was impeccable, I'd only say I would have liked slightly more dressing. Espresso martini was awesome! Mushroom pizza was good- the crust was incredible but could have used just a little more cheese. Decor/ambiance is beautiful and clearly was carefully selected. Definitely a lively and not quiet place, but for a Friday night dinner it should be! Overall INCREDIBLE!!!!

Food was so good. We got a mix of apps and entrees and a bottle of wine. We loved everything we had. The ambiance was enjoyable as well. We'd go back.

We had the rib-eye, filet, oysters, one of the pizzas with a few cocktails. Everything was prepared perfectly and tasted amazing. Highly recommend.

Traveled from Florida, very exited to try. Ordered a Margarita pizza and if you google margarita pizza and hold it up to what they serve it looks like a movie theater kids pizza. Only way we found out or severs name was on our bill which she also did not get correct
