I came in through ER, but private vehicle. I was seen quickly. And taken through to an emergency patient room. I was lucid, but if you are old enough to remember Loony Tunes cartoons, every few minutes my body acted like the cartoon character that was being electrocuted. Board stiff, and vibrating off the bed. An IV was administered, but no other medication was given. No one introduced themselves as a doctor at any time. One person not in "scrubs" came in and said, "that is not a seizure". I was led to believe later when I was admitted that this was a PA. I had a massive sinus headache. I informed the nurses, both in emergency room and in the ward I was sent to of this. I was admitted before noon. I did not get a simple antihistamine until the next morning, even though I asked repeatedly. The nurses on the ward kept telling me they had told the doctor, but he had not ordered any medication. I did not see a doctor until the following day. At that point I was told that maybe I had seizures. That he would like to follow up
Very nice doctor though. That I could go home.
I had also contacted the patient advocate afternoon of first day to ask for help with an antihistamine. Had to leave a message, because there was no reply other than voice-mail. No one from that office has ever called me back.
I was told by night shift that they would come in to check on me every hour or two, but not wake me up. I was awake until about 2 AM, and no one came through my door in over 6 hours. I cannot say between then and about 6, because I was asleep.
Everyone was polite.
I was discharged with no diagnosis. Several tests were done.
Needless to say, I will never be back if there is a choice of any kind.
