St. Luke's is a very special church and community space! These are photos from a beautiful art show they held in their worship space in June 2024. I love being part of this progressive church community who is so involved in their neighborhood and supportive of each other's lives.

This community is open, welcoming and wonderful. As someone who grew up in the Catholic Church, it’s delightfully the opposite of what I knew before. They accept and love all, including our noisy energetic 3 year old which is rare in a religious setting. Grateful for this safe space for everyone!

A community united by the Gospel's liberating Word; a community rooted in solidarity with the marginalized and downtrodden; a community proclaiming justice to systems of alienation and oppression; a community embracing us in our suffering, shame, and mortality; a community of public witness and testimony, of people daring to engage the creative work of transforming despair into hope, isolation into healing relationships, exclusion into unabashed inclusivity. This church does not dwell in the illusory self-righteous promise of otherworldly salvation, but strives to delve into the pain and joy of our worldly realities that people might be brought into mutual relationship with each other. To this end, St. Luke's pursues with fractionated clarity what it means to seek the common good in our homes, neighborhoods, this city, and our world.

This church offers community dfinners for the needy, which in my opinion, is very genourous. In this church, you can sing and rejoice to the lord. The doors are open, open to those who are late, or those who are late to recive the guidence of Jesus Christ. I actually started attending today for my second day, and I was forgiven of my sins, and I am a new person. Come on by, and be a part of Logan Square history

A congregation that is very involved in the local community. Combines a traditional service with progressive values and forward thinking messages. Great small groups to join and get involved.

This has been my home church for 3 or 4 years. A welcoming community that believes in radical love, queer virtue, and wants to change the world.

Yelp
This is a great community, intergenerational, accepting, and Biblical. My child attends Sunday school here and presenting the gospel in an inclusive, culturally relevant way helps to connect my child with the traditions of faith. I haven't attended many Sunday worship services, but the preaching is thought-provoking and the staff is welcoming

Yelp
St. Luke's is a wonderful place to go to church - they are accepting of everyone and services are warm, welcoming, and relevant. Services are on Sundays at 9 and 11 am. There are other ways to get involved as well, through the Women's Group, Anti-Racism Ministry, and so many other great things. Pastor Erin is phenomenal and a joy to have as a pastor.

Yelp
Never before have I felt so incredibly welcome in a church. All the other churches I have been to have been clique-y and not open at all. Or they try to be too "modern" and try way too hard to incorporate terrible Christian Rock into their music services to try and attract anyone under the age of 60. St. Luke's is different. Pastor Erik is fantastic, thoughtful and a great leader. The church seems to be growing as the neighborhood is changing which I am excited to be a part of. We are so lucky to have a church that we can walk to that has so many community opportunities to serve. Everyone I have met there has been warm and very friendly. We love it here!

Yelp
I have worked for Elijah's food pantry housed in St. Luke's church in Logan Square for 26 years in multiple capacities but over the last year as director of the food pantry. Serving our clients for so many years I see the great dependency they have on our food pantry. Some so grateful they give there time when possible as that is all they truly have to give. We are so blessed to be one of the surviving food pantry's in our area and are so thankful for all donations that go to the greater Chicago food depository. -Kimberly Calvillo Director of Elijah's Food Pantry @ St. Luke's Church, Logan Square

Yelp
St. Luke's is a great group of people! This great Lutheran Church in Logan Square is very "accessible" to the community and does some amazing things for it. They sponsor the Boulevard Bash Logan Square Music Fest. They also offer community programs in early childhood development , arts and music, fighting childhood obesity and much more. They also work with a local food pantry "Elijah's Pantry" to collect and distribute food to those in need. This is a very diverse church with a lot to offer everyone. St. Luke's is also an amazing space for weddings with an old-world aesthetic and access to an attached reception banquet area. St. Luke's is truly a wonderful place to commune, volunteer and worship!!

Yelp
I am new to Logan Square and so happy to have found St Luke's! The church is welcoming and very focused on social justice and the local community.
