On the Grid : St Mary Magdalene Churchyard

"Just across the road from Bermondsey Square, this is the perfect spot to chill away from the busyness of the Friday market or just to take time out for a coffee or lunch. The church itself is late 17th century and is a Grade ll* listed building, so worth a visit for all those history lovers." - Superfantastic

We visited for Candlelight Concerts at 6pm. Great ambience. Fantastic classical piano performance. Lovely building. Friendly staff.

Very welcoming helpers and a calming, peaceful interior. Open on Fridays for visiting and so is the tea / cake shop where you can grab a quick (free) cuppa. Some beautiful stained glass windows. An interesting graveyard just around the corner with some very informative history.

Wonderful welcoming place of worship 🧡 Beautiful building; it's open on Fridays from 12-2 to have a look around, a moment of silence or a coffee with locals in the social space :)

Grade II listed, mainly 17th.Century with subsequent remodelling over the ages. The squat tower with crenellated parapets and pinnacles, a quirky and distinctive fairy-tale touch to the disproportionate building suggesting a Disney cardboard replica film-set. I did not enter the church. The maintained former graveyard not particularly interesting nor atmospheric.

Being lovingly restored with every original feature sitting alongside the picture glass panels that somehow adds to it's already ecelestial charm. Intimate in size, perfect acoustics. The David Dimbleby Carol Concert is not to be missed; nor is the Farringtons School junior choir.
