Google
We visited on Saturday and had a great time. It’s a lovely weekend market with a wide variety of items. Very impressed!

Google
Fair sized farmers market, with about 40 vendors, that pops up on Saturday mornings. Things you should know: I. PARKING There's plenty of nearby, free parking in the lots of the adjacent businesses. Stress free. II. SERVICE Open from 8am-12pm. They have a variety of vendors ranging from freshly made beverages, to bakery items, pottery, flowers, etc. III. QUALITY Everything is locally sourced IV. CAPACITY There's a fair number of families asking around, but it's not too incredibly crowded.

Google
love to support local farmers and musicians. This is my sisters favorite market, we were from out of town and visiting and enjoyed this taste of Louisville!

Google
Love the farmer’s market itself, just know they are cracking down on not allowing nearby parking this year which is a shame since it will probably deter some

Google
Love this market with so many options from fresh produce, dog treats, candles, jewelry, coffee, delicious food, preserves, baked goods, spices and so much more! Thankful for the people directing traffic, very helpful. Plenty of parking beside the market and handicap parking. To get the best options/choices; go early!

Google
Nice farmers market. Size has come down to 50-70% of what it used to be. Today was a very hot day and maybe that was one of the reason for small amount of vendors. Good produce, bread, honey, sauces and crafts. Plenty of parking space.

Dale Peterson

Google
Wonderful place! Some markets that call themselves "farmer's" markets are really craft fairs, but this has all kinds of produce, baked goods, meats, dairy, honey, oil, etc., plus a few well-chosen kiosks selling non-edible items. Well-thought-out parking. Bathrooms, not porta-potties.

Google
They have parking lot attendants to guide you where to park. Nice atmosphere with a band and a variety of vendors We bought bread products and fruits and vegetables.

Yelp
What a beautiful (hot) day for a Farmers Market! It's been years since my last visit in St Matthews and it's grown. When I first arrived I was a bit overwhelmed between the crowd and number of vendors. My husband suggested we start with coffee - brilliant! Sunergos had a booth and was the only vendor offering it. We grabbed a cold brew for $3 and then stood in line for a bacon, egg and cheese sandwich on sourdough bread for $5. If you're looking for a savory breakfast this was a great option or another farmer was cooking up breakfast burritos. For sweet you'll be in luck too. The muffins and breads were difficult to pass up. I had to refocus more than once. If you are looking for meat you'll find several options here. So many coolers! Prices are similar regardless of the farm so I imagine you try one from here, another from there and eventually find one you always appreciate the most. We are new at this and weren't sure how much a lb of meat would feed, which is how things are priced. Basically it depends on how the meats are packed. Some are 1/2 and other 3/4 lb. Not ready to purchase steak we did get a thinner cut of steak sandwich meat to grill up for steak sandwiches. The gentleman was so friendly and told us how long to cook it, then recommended grabbing a baguette instead of using a bun. Of course veggies are abundant here, some prettier than others but we know ugly doesn't mean they don't taste good. Peaches are now in season and ears of corn. One booth had an amazing selection of hydrangea bushes while others sold flowers by the bunch or stem. A few folks offered canned/pickled veggies. Some soaps, jewelry, etc to round out the shopping too. Pro tips: bring your own shopping bag (although most vendors have plastic), come early so you can eat (tables available for sitting), park behind the church (not across the street), do not bring your dog, budget extra money (prices are higher than the grocery), wear sunscreen (no shade), take home a flower (you'll smile more).

Yelp
It was a beautiful Saturday to visit this farmer's market! So many different vendors selling local products and lots of fresh vegetables and baked goods to choose from. Everyone was very nice! Some of my favorites are the baked goods from Wildflour Bakehouse, beers from West Sixth, and the hummus from Farm to Fork. They had Sunergo's coffee available so I got an iced coffee and it was delicious and my daughter got a fresh watermelon lemonade from another vendor. We enjoyed our day and came home with a lot of great items!

Yelp
A lovely little farmer's market with a decent variety of booths and items. Parking was a bit of a hassle, but not terrible

Yelp
This farmer's market has really expanded since my last visit! Folks are enjoying the live music, grilled foods and park benches, and shopping handmade wares, jewelry, local brews, and of course, fruits, vegetables, meats, eggs, and canned goodies. When I visited, it felt more like what I remember of the neighborhood block parties in the Louisville of my youth. Highly recommend spending your Saturday morning here!

Yelp
Big fan. My girlfriend has to trek out here every weekend to pickup her weekly lot of vegetables through the CSA. So we always have a wee browse. Those wee browses turn into purchases. Often I will purchase some tomatoes, root vegetables, or other produce I'd rather not get from a box store. But there are other vendors, such as beer/wine samplers, sandwich makers, muffin bakers, and something else _akers! But you can find virtually anything. Walk around, sip coffee, take in the live music and positive energy, and just enjoy it. If nothing else, it's good for that.

Yelp
Great place to get all of your veggie and local needs. From meats, eggs, fruits, veggies to beer and hand made crafts. Everyone is super friendly and helpful.

Yelp
Living in St. Matthew's I had to check out this market. I was told this was the PREMIERE farmer's market; it did not disappoint. The vendors lived up to the reviews. There is live music each Saturday. I am always impressed with the wonderful seasonal food selections. My meals created from shopping here are fresh, organic and support local farmers. Definitely worth a few visits!

Yelp
One of my favorite things about warm weather is farmers markets. The St. Matthews farmers market is the premier market in town. There are so many local vendors with a wide variety of products. The local farm fresh products make me close my eyes and imagine myself living on a farm in a cabin. Dogs roaming free and fresh flowers growing wild on the land. Some of the variety of venders are local grass fed beef, fresh flowers, local wine, local roasted coffee, cheeses, hand made soap, local produce, hand made purses and local honey. The farmers market is every Saturday till 12 during the warm summer months. One note is don't park across the street at the old Sears because they have a security officer keeping an eye on the lot.

Yelp
I showed up today with my papillon, ready to get my farmers market on, only to be told that "dogs were not allowed" because "their fur gets on the produce". Hell no. I turned right around and went to the lovely Douglass Loop farmers market, where there were a good 20 dogs present during the hour I was there. Now that's an awesome farmers market! I may be new to Louisville, but I have never in my life heard of a "no dogs allowed" farmers market. I will never come back to this farmers market, at least not until I hear that this absurd policy has changed. If this is some sort of local regulation, please let me know so I can run for office and fix it ASAP.

Yelp
Love this farmers market! Full of so many choices! Veggies, eggs, beef, pork, lamb, flowers, bread, salsa, fresh cooked breakfast, coffee, pasta, cheeses.. so much more! There is a little area to sit and eat if you grab breakfast. The one thing i will say if you go, look first- price check. Some booths are much more expensive than others for the same item :) bring your own bag to make it easier on you to carry then plastic grocery bags. Great morning with lots to look at at least 30 vendors!!!

Yelp
Nothing beats a great Farmer's Market close to home! I visited the Beargrass market recently and loved the variety of everything available. It runs the gamut from local produce vendors, cheeses (including cheese spreads from Dad's), wines, crafts, and foods to munch on while you're browsing, like breakfast burritos or kettle popcorn. There's usually some upbeat bluegrass-style live music in the background, which always puts some pep in my step. On this particular day, I left with some delicious organic dill pickles from Duck Duck Beet (which also advertises a healthy meal subscription from a Community-Supported Kitchen), and Cheese from Sapori Italia. I was able (barely) to resist the homemade Benedictine from Izzy's and some bourbon honey butter from another booth . . . I'll see if my resolve is still as strong next week, otherwise my fridge will be just a little bit fuller :-)

Yelp
This is my favorite farmers market! I'm was very sad to learn it was seasonal and will not be back until April, I believe. Don't quote me on that though! I bought some pizza dough from here and it was heavenly!! I also got some homemade salsa and potatoes. My husband goes for the huge breakfast burritos though!

Yelp
The freshest of local produce. Super nice farmers peddling their food. Extra other wares (olive oil, woodworked things, aprons). And breakfast burritos. You can never go wrong with breakfast burritos!

Yelp
This is summer tradition for my family! We always get a muffin for my daughter at the Great harvest Bread booth. We always buy a cool glass of lemonade from the lady who sells granola (the lemonade flavors vary with the ripe fruit of he season. My son loves the watermelon lemonade while my daughter votes for blueberry lemonade. There is a farmer from Corydon who has the BEST tomatoes. I don't know his secret but they are divine. And who can forget the Italian cheese man! He handmakes all his cheese from pecorino and fresh mozz to cream cheese and they are delectable. We buy some every week. And I always buy some bbq from Kentucky Smoked BBQ to take home for my husbands lunch. This market has a wide variety of vendors and it's such a friendly atmosphere. You must come to enjoy the fruits of summer!

Yelp
This farmers market is pretty good. Nice selection of fresh fruits and veggies. Check out the bbq place in the back, the fried fruit pies, even some kettle corn from Gallrein's farm. Lots of other great vendors there too. Come back weekly and catch some of the alternates that bring additional variety. Leave your furry friends at home though, because they are not allowed. To make up for it, stop by and buy some treats for those fur babies from Arrow fund.

Yelp
This was my first trip to the Beargrass Farmer's Market. I loved it!!!! It was perfect size with lots to choose from. Other than fruits and veggies they had booths selling food. I had a breakfast burrito that was killer! I also bought a mimosa. It was great! I had a wonderful experience and will definitely be back!

Yelp
I love anything local-especially when it comes to produce and meats. This past weekend was my first time at this farmers market and I was completely impressed! We were told by a friend to get the breakfast burritos and we did just that before perusing each tent. The breakfast burritos were great and I probably could have eaten another one! After stuffing our faces, we were ready to get some items to throw on the grill. The fruits and veggies at every tent looked great! There were also plenty of tents with meats. We decided on some corn, heirloom tomatoes, squash, eggplant, and green beans, as well as lamb brats (never knew there was such a thing!) and hot dogs...and OMG everything was delicious!!! I can't wait to go back! I'm coming for you, Benedictine! The bluegrass band was also a great touch! All around a great place to support local farmers!

Yelp
This is the best FM in my opinion! Takes me about 10 mins tops to get there and love it starts at 8am. All of the venders I deal with are very nice and friendly, just wish it was year round...LOL I get my eggs (organic) here, blueberries, Kale, Bread, and Pitas...All in season of course!

Yelp
I love that there are so many booths. Parking can be difficult, and some people are are very rude. They will interrupt your conversation with vendors and even shove you as you walk. There are a lot of booths in a small space, so walking around can be hazardous. The vendors are all lovely people and you can get some great products there. The market is great. It is just some of the people that go that make it less enjoyable.

Yelp
I really enjoy this farmers market! You can get fresh fruits, veggies, and breae, along with an omelette for breakfast all at the same time. I also enjoy seeing crafts people make as well as sampling local wines! Parking can,be difficult at times, so I am thankful I live super close!

Yelp
My new favorite weekend morning adventure!! We stocked up on some delicious produce and baked goods. And I have to mention the most delicious angel food cake ON THIS PLANET that we bought there (I don't remember the name of the vendor/farm... I'll have to update this review next time I go!)

Yelp
Well coordinated overall with individual several appeal. A definite part of the enjoyable summer experience.

Yelp
This is my favorite thing to do on a Saturday morning. It's certainly not good for my wallet because I go to the Farmer's Market every weekend to saunter around aimlessly, sample free food and enjoy the company of vendors and fellow shoppers but I always end up buying a bunch of things, most of which I probably didn't need. For instance, does my body really need Babycakes cupcakes? Perhaps not, but not sampling at least one every Saturday morning is almost a travesty because these cupcakes are utterly divine. Babycakes makes the most delicious, moist cupcakes in this town with all natural ingredients (see, it's not all bad) and a surprising variety of flavors...for some inexplicable reason, I find myself drawn to them like a moth to a flame as I try to walk past the kiosk with an air of indifference...deprived of all self-control. Once my sugar levels have spiked from shamelessly gorging on these cupcakes, I walk around in a futile attempt to shed some calories. I've also been in the habit of buying lots of grass-fed beef here - I've bought ground beef and hamburger patties from Foxhollow Farms (Crestwood, KY) and ground beef, short ribs and hamburger patties from Harned Ranch Beef (New Haven, KY). The meat from both places were delicious..maybe I was imagining it but it definitely felt like the flavor was much better than what you get in the grocery stores. For one thing, all of these cows are grass-fed (like they should be) and not corn-fed (or worse, fed with animal feed), they are not injected with hormones, no preservatives are added...I know the guys from Harned will meet you halfway if you want to buy some meat in Fall and Winter when the Farmer's Market's not around. I met a guy who's been doing that for over 3-4 years, and he swears by their beef. I'm glad I took his advice and bought meat from them.

Yelp
This is the best farmer's market in Louisville! I can't wait for May so it will start up again. They have all the traditional aspects of a farmer's market, plus Kenny's cheese, Babycakes (best cupcakes in Louisville, only available at the farmer's market or by order), and BBQ! So many samples walking around, you could make a meal out of it. Live music and craft booths round out this fantatic farmer's market.

Yelp
Fresh local produce and meats . Local crafts and music, a must for a Saturday morning in the summer !!

Yelp
I've been going to this farmer's market since it opened. Vendors feel like friends and the first day is just like reconnecting with friends and catching up on what happened in our lives over the winter. Beautiful produce and flowers, locally raised, grass fed meats, poultry from some of the best farms around, wine, cheeses, baked goods, fresh roasted coffee. Smoked pork, breakfast omelets and burritos. Jams, jellies, honey. Artisans with handmade wares, not "imported from China" Just about anything you could want! There are so many vendors! All lovely people. I wake up on Saturday mornings and can't wait to get there. Just 2 complaints- dogs and strollers. It's packed with people, additional vendor spaces in the middle which make the walking spaces much more narrow than at some markets. So strollers and dogs make walking through the market more like avoiding an obstacle. Please-if you can't leave your precious mutt behind then stay home with it or find another market!
