I originally planned to give maybe 2 stars for this place, as it took 15 minutes to even be acknowledged by our server after we were seated. We were not seated all the way in the dining room, but to not be acknowledged at all, or even checked on by the person who sat us,is pretty bad. However, everything after that was great, so I bumped to 4 stars, and I would give this place another go next time im in the city, if we stay close like we did this time. It helped that the person who seated us gave us ice cream on the house. Yes, I can be bought with food. 😄 In any case.... the atmosphere is really nice. Christmas decorations were still up, and that gave a nice feel. I find it humorous that it's a Jacksonville Jaguars bar (no hate) in NYC. There are signs that stipulate "No Buffalo Bills Attire." I love that. We only ordered apps, a drink, and desert. My daughter had the dumplings and I had the calamari. Both were good, and we have bo complaints. I felt the calamrinwas perfectly breaded as to not drown out the calamari itself, and still managed to be crispy. I ordered an Old Fashioned, and it was delicious. Then we ordered the fried ice cream (and also got a free dish of ice cream,) and it was good. I'm not sure either of us had fried ice cream before, so we can't make a comparison. But the ice cream itself was good. Once she started to attend to us, our server was great. She even gave me a couple of to-go cups of ice (our hotel's ice machine has not worked our whole stay.) So while being ignored for 15 minutes did not thrill me, the rest of the experience was pretty good, and I'd try more food from this particular place.
