This is your sign to go! Just do it! So fun, it’s BYOB and just a really different date night or fun hang with your friends. You can’t beat that kinda fun $10 bucks. We were helped by David, and he was awesome. Made the experience even better than it already was!

St. Pete Shuffle is the oldest and largest club in the world, right here in St. Pete! It's a special place, a great way to meet people in the community and learn a new sport. I have lifelong friends from getting involved in the club and playing on a league team. If you're even a little curious, I encourage you to come out on a Friday night or sign up for beginner boot camp. Everyone is welcome!

Can't speak highly enough about the St Petersburg Shuffleboard Club! My husband and I got married there in November 2023, and the staff went above and beyond to make our day perfect. If you're looking for an out-of-the-box wedding, it's an amazing place for it! They have super affordable rates, and we were able to customize how many lanes we wanted for how many hours, as well as rent other areas of the Club. Just become a member to start the process, and you won't regret that bit either! All photos in this review taken by our wonderful photographer Abby Weeden

Upon arrival, we noticed restrooms were locked, I asked the woman pushing a cart with shuffleboard items if she will be unlocking the restroom. She said she was busy setting up for an event. I told her we were there for an event, It's for adults with disabilities and my daughter needs the restroom. She said that wasn't the event on her calendar. After waiting a couple minutes, she came up to us and told me she has too much to do and can't open the restrooms. This woman is nasty, not disabled friendly. Woman should not work with people. Whatever event she was setting up for, not one person was there. Taking 2 minutes to unlock a restroom door would not have interfered with anyone.

Had a blast with 2 other couples. Weather a little chilly. Music playing was of good choice and courts were perfect. Highly recommend. Becoming members here. So much fun our group bought our own equipment to play.

Google
What a cool venue! Was here for a wedding and was sad I didn't have the chance to play shuffleboard. Lots of room to wander and is a great place for large groups or parties There are many courts arranged around the club and restroom facilities are clean.

A Gem of Fun and Hospitality in St. Pete! My recent experience hosting a kids' birthday party at the St. Pete Shuffleboard Club was nothing short of exceptional. Despite intermittent rain throughout the day, at the appointed party time, the courts were immaculately clean, dry, and ready for play. What struck us most was the warm and welcoming atmosphere. For many attendees, it was their first visit, and the club felt like a hidden treasure in St. Pete. The staff members were incredibly friendly and patient; taking the time to engage both children and adults in learning and enjoying the game. It was heartwarming to see everyone, regardless of experience, having a blast. It's a place where fun knows no bounds and where every guest, young or old, felt included and embraced. We highly recommend these facilities for hosting events!

One of the best kept amenities in all of St. Pete. Its charm is quickly apparent when you set foot in the grandstands. Check out the Friday Nights open to the Public to get a taste of the magic.

Yelp
Now this was fun!! We went to the SPSC on a Friday night which is BYOB night. Very good crowd with people of all ages. We went with another couple who also had never played here before. This was a great way to kick off a Friday night. The staff was very helpful getting us started and explaining the scoring. This is a game that everyone can enjoy no matter how athletic. This place is celebrating its one hundredth anniversary. We really enjoyed the clubhouse with a lot of old pictures which showed how things were back in the day. I was really happy I was not wearing a three piece suit and tie which was standard attire back then. We all had a great time and will definitely be back.

Yelp
Love every aspect of this Historical Shuffleboard Club in Saint Petersburg, FL. Get this, $25 per year for a membership! We were in Town on a "cooler less humid" September weekend. Primarily for some baseball, but in-between games, we were invited to the Saint Petersburg Shuffleboard Club for a game - challenge accepted. The Club consists of a white buildings with clay tiled roofs on a large compound of outdoor shuffleboard courts. Even a grandstand overlooking one a series of Courts with a Judging Booth. At the entrance, plaque read, "The Location of the First Shuffleboard Courts in St. Petersburg. The Largest Shuffleboard Club in the World. Organized January 24, 1924." Awe inspiring, history and a I'm here to play my first "match" (game), that I can recall? What an honor, recounting the countless other matches over the Club's ninety-five years. The facility is run and maintained by members and hired tradesmen when needed. I heard and have read on Yelp, that the Club quite a social magnet on any weekend night. Members are allowed BYOB, but no glass on the courts. Our game, Husband and Wife (the Visitors) versus In-Law Husband and Wife (the local Shuffle Sharks). Following a brief tutorial, run of the rules, court etiquette, and a practice round of shots (slides)...GAME WAS ON! The boys on one end, the girls at the other end. Oma and Opa observed from the Grandstand previously mentioned. The game relatively simple in concept, but saturated with strategy, fine handled Cue technique, and teamwork. Needless to say, I DON'T REMEMBER THE FINAL SCORE! Despite my convenient loss of memory, this was one unforgettable Grand Good Olde Time!

Yelp
I joined the St. Pete Shuffleboard Club because my coworkers sign up as a team for the league. Membership is $35 for the year for a single adult. You can bring 1-3 guests to fill up a court. The leagues compete on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. The courts are all outdoors, so beware during summer nights that it's hot outside. You will need bug spray. The bathrooms are not air conditioned either, and from the times that I've been to the Club, they're usually locked. You can bring your own snacks and beverages in a cooler. However, you cannot drink out of glass. You can have glass bottles and then transfer the beverages to a cup. There are no concessions sold here. Each court has its own benches for seating, and there is a grand stand of covered seating for observers. The St. Petersburg Shuffleboard Club is a unique spot in Mirror Lake DTSP. Some of the building is rundown, and sometimes the surroundings seem a little sketch, but there is charm and camaraderie in the Shuffleboard Club.

Yelp
A few years back when someone to play shuffleboard I thought they were nuts! I am now a member of a very fun organization. For $40 a year you too can become a member. You can play whenever you want! You can bring some friends, drinks food and even your own music. On Friday nights it is free for even non-members. It is run by volunteers who are always so friendly. They also have other events there and leagues to play on. Yesterday they ran a fundraiser, they do this every year, and it was called the tweed ride. You dress up in vintage or tweed and bike through St Pete. We had a police escort and then dinner and dancing afterwards l. So fun!

Yelp
Super fun for members and visitors alike. Leagues and tourneys are the best. People are awesome and friendly

Yelp
Shuffleboard is fun! Especially with a group! Friday nights are free! Rules and scoreboards are posted near every court, plus most courts have bench seating. If you just want to watch, stadium seating overlooks many of the courts. Concessions are not available on-site, but you are welcome to bring your own refreshments including alcoholic beverages. Be advised that they do not even have vending machines. Bathroom facilities are large but not climate controlled. Parking opposite Mirror Lake seems to be plentiful, but since we've only been a few times, I would suggest allowing extra time in case you need to hunt for a spot.

Yelp
This is a fun place to go to play shuffleboard, and it is a great place for a casual event. I have been to family events here twice, and both were great. There is plenty of room for tables and catering, you can bring your own beer (they only have limited refrigerator space, so bring your own coolers or plan accordingly), and there's tons of parking around. The best thing: you get to play shuffleboard during the party!

Yelp
A majestic, uniquely St. Pete backdrop for our special day. We are so glad we had our wedding here. From the beginning, the staff was easy to work with and remained attentive and helpful in the planning. The on-site employee on the day-of was so friendly, taught our guests how to play shuffleboard and saved our day after a major vendor screwed up. Beyond that, the price is very reasonable. The tradeoff is it's all pretty much DIY, but that didn't create any trouble for us and actually worked in our favor as we were able to bring food truck vendors to cater our wedding for a very unique reception that our guests are still raving about. We cannot be more pleased we went with the Shuffleboard Club -- a day we will never forget!

Yelp
Why 5 stars? Because this place is so cool, I can't believe it even exists. --- --- --- Maybe I'm easily amused, but I love St. Pete shuffleboard. Every Friday from 7-11 (thanks Shanna) you can head down to the open courts and enjoy this very underrated game with your pals. BYOA is encouraged as well, which will eventually result in your friends seem so much cooler, and your aim so much sillier. The best part is the stadium seating surrounding the courts, which make it seem like they definitely realize that one day, thousands will come to watch me shuffle it up. I'm a fierce competitor, and will destroy any opposition. That's right, this isn't fun, it's hardkore. They definitely have ping pong inside, maybe foozball and pool as well - I don't remember. But they definitely provide all of the sticks and discs, so all you need to bring is your booze and your game.

Yelp
FREE FRIDAY NIGHT SHUFFLEBOARD! I was kind of skeptical about coming here (shuffleboard, really?) but came out to meet up with some coworkers and...I had so much fun! Everyone here was just so happy and friendly (maybe it was the booze?). A family friendly place to take the kids or just hang out with your friends! I saw people of all ages here which was awesome. There are more than enough courts to play on. Although the one end looked a bit dark, not sure if there was lighting that just wasn't turned on? It's BYOB just no glass. So we brought plenty of beer and food! What an awesome way to spend the night! I'm glad I decided to come out and experience this. I still need to learn the game a bit, but I think I got the hang of shuffling (?). There was also a lady who came by to help some of us learn the game. I believe she was a volunteer there? Anyways, she was very helpful and gave us lots of pointers! This will now be on regular rotation for my Friday nights!

Yelp
I know what you're thinking. "Shuffleboard? Isn't that what old people do at their retirement communities?" Well, yes and no. Here, you're treated to the largest shuffleboard club in the WORLD. By large, I mean there are like easily a hundred couts to shuffle down. It's historic (vintage 1920's) and it's hip. Every Friday night they have FREE shuffleboard, where you can try your hand at this historic sport. There are even awesome members that will come and give you pointers. Free shuffleboard runs from 6-11, and you just help yourself to the sticks and pucks in the shed. There are pointers on how to play posted in the clubhouse solarium, but it's super simple. The game is basically you (and a partner if you wish) vs another player (and possibly their partner). You are standing at one end, trying to shuffle, or scoot, your pucks down to the other end and land in parts of a triangle with point values. You push the pucks down and you can knock your opponents pucks out or try to land in the 10 pt tip. Super fun! You continue by alternating ends of the court until someone reaches 100 pts. Easy, right?! They sometimes have live music, but always have music of some sort. The crowd is very diverse, from underage to senior age. The courts are in great condition, and if you don't want to play, there is even a section of courts with stadium seating where you can spectate. I would suggest you bring your own food/drink, and by drink I mean you choose it. Alcohol is fine. Sounding even more awesome, right?! The Shuffleboard Club and courts are contained within the Mirror Lake Rec Complex, located at opposite end of the parking lot from the Sunshine Senior Center. We fell in love with the location so much that we are having our wedding there this November. Beautiful deck, lawn area, and a fully stocked ballroom including a kitchen for a very affordable price. Can't wait to introduce our closest friends and family members to the art of shuffling!

Yelp
Ever since I've played mini-shuffleboard at a bar over the summer, I've been dying to play again. Little did I know my next encounter was going to be on the real thing. A colleague of mine had told me about it a few months ago and I just hadn't found the right opportunity to go. Finally, another co-worker of mine had already planned on being there and I found my way there through the grapevine. I'm so glad I did. I'm sure you already have a life filled with cool happenings for a Friday night, but if you happen to have a Friday without plans, you should TOTALLY check this out. You play for FREE every Friday from 7-11p! Not sold yet? How about you bring some friends and BYOB. Yes. I said it. Throw some libations in a cooler and throw them back as you shuffle. My fellow Yelpers, you live a deprived life if you decidedly miss out this. Come one. Come all. and let the good times roll!

Yelp
What's not to love about the St. Pete Shuffleboard Club? The game itself is fun. The atmosphere of the club is fun as well. The club frequently hosts events and shuffleboard is free to play on Friday nights. One of my favorite parts of the club is the Solarium. It has an antique/old Florida feel that reminds me of the 1920s. It's almost like taking a step back in time when you're there. My fiancé and I chose the club for our wedding venue and can't wait until March for the wedding. If you're visiting the area or already live here, do yourself a favor and check out this St. Pete staple!

Yelp
We stopped by to inspect the venue after chatting with the team at the Localtopia festival on Saturday. It looks like lots of fun! We plan to try out for free on our next free Friday. It may become a nice habit!

Yelp
Went here for a charity event where they had food trucks, craft beer and arts and crafts. They also had the boards all set up so you could try your hand at it. I was surprised at the mixed crowd here, although I imagine that's because of the event. It's very historic and still well kept. Plenty of boards under cover as well as not. Stadium seating, although if you're a bigger person you wouldn't fit in the seats. When we sat next to each other he spilled over into my chair and he only weighs 200. I'd like to go back here and play sometime. Seems like a nice way to spend the afternoon.

Yelp
Free shuffleboard on fridays!!!! It's so much fun! If you've never played shuffleboard or are remotely curious, go here! They're so nice in explaining and the crowd is diverse. Great for a couple, a couple friends and families too. Saw a couple cute kids running around and people bringing coolers. It's adorable.

Yelp
There is peace in the gentle scrape slide of the pucks along the sanded court. Energy weaves through the attractive and youthful teams, occasionally manifested in overshot discs careening off the backboard, but the gentle electronic rock playing in the background soothes ruffled feathers. All is well on a Friday night at the shuffleboard courts - the world's largest. The regulars are generally gray and host tournaments throughout the year (weather allowing). Friday nights are different, though. The dollar admission becomes a requested donation, somebody hooks up their iPod to the sound system, and a broad spectrum of the St. Pete demographic turns out to play. Hip kids drink pouch wine and PBR from cups next to families out to explore or enjoy the friendly company. Dates are had - the game is conducive to conversation. Every few weeks, a local cultural organization (think Indian or Polish) hosts a Friday night party. Look for awesome homemade food, exotic music and dance, and the universal sense of acceptance inherent in any event that brings diverse neighborhoods together.

Yelp
My all time favorite thing to do in DTSP on Friday nights. Every Friday, 7-11pm, bring your friends and a cooler to one of the most fun and unique events Tampa Bay has to offer. Here are my tips to enjoy this fantastic place. Park for unlimited time free on Mirror Lake. Head into the club house to pick up your pucks, paddles, chalk and eraser. Take a moment to read the rules posted on an easel (or take a picture with your phone for reference on the court), drop a few bucks donation into the giant water cooler bottle, (the event is run for FREE by volunteer and club members) and choose among the dozens of courts lined above with twinkling lights. There is always music, either a whole line-up of live bands, or an ipod mixing tunes anyone can jam to. The best part about Friday night shuffle is the real sense of community. Families with young kids, teenagers on their first dates, college students and twenty-somethings hanging before heading to Central, and retired couples happily giving instruction on the game they've spent time mastering--doing something active and positive alongside one another. Everyone is always happy, friendly, and having fun. Bring as much food and alcohol as you can carry, it's allowed! Just please be courteous to those around you, by behaving and tidying up after so the allowance is not revoked. Have FUN!

Yelp
The St. Petersburg Shuffleboard Courts are the perfect place for a fun and extremely inexpensive Friday night, as long as the weather is amenable. While it's easier to enjoy if you go in a group divisible by four, it isn't too difficult to meet other people and join other games where they are looking for another person (ideally you would have a game consisting of two teams of two people each). The courts are kept in very good condition, there are typically plenty available, and the rules are easy to learn. The crowd is really friendly and will offer help to newcomers, and it is a fabulous place for a double date. They usually have music playing (with the occasional live band on special event nights) and sometimes local art. It's BYOB, but very family friendly - also a great place to rent for weddings (friends of ours did this, and their wedding was far more fun than most I've attended). Make sure to check out this local gem when the weather is cool and you will be glad you did.

Yelp
Last weekend we were here having fun playing games with friends but we were forced to leave because we were not members? It was very confusing because the man working was very angry yelling telling everyone to leave if they were not a member, the place was very busy everyone having a great time but we were all forced to leave. He said they were closed? A lot of people were very confused and wondering why the person working was so rude? Anyway while it lasted we had a good time. He could have asked people to become members at that point and people would have shelled out the 30 bucks for the YEAR!! Come on! Wtf?

Yelp
This place is a great way to get out side with friends and have some drinks. Love this place. We love coming on Sunday we had so much fun we became menbers!

Yelp
F.U.N. Period. This is a super fun place to hold any party or get together. Gate opens at 7 pm and BYOB is fine, just be cool enough to use Solo cups. The rules are pretty simple, I suggest looking them up on the wiki before you go, and the facility is hip historic. Bathrooms are a bit dank. This is a club, not so much a business. It's serve yourself to get the poles (tangs) and discs (biscuits) and there is a huge jug to drop off your donation in. In fact, it's only $21 to become a member, so see the attendant if you're interested! I was here last Friday and there were bands playing in the center court area! This is a very cool place to come and get a glimpse of old Florida and St. Pete's history. There are always plenty of courts, but if you're planning for a big group, you should get there early!

Yelp
This place is pure magic! I little step back in time to get a glimpse of Old Florida. I love it! What a great place to bring a date, the family or just hang out with your friends. Bring a picnic and enjoy a lovely St. Petersburg evening out. Every Friday from 7pm - 11pm is free (donations welcomed) and open to the public. Live music on occasion!

Holly D.

Yelp
Came here with a member to play at 3pm on Saturday. Got cursed out by a man painting the roof for trying to use the restroom. Not sure what is up with this place. It says members can come here at any time? Super unfriendly. But there are lots of courts to play on.
google avatar

Connie M.

Yelp
What a fun place to go out for a night. They allow coolers and beer. Friday nights are free to the public. This is a great way to get a little St. Pete history and nostalgia. I am definitely paying the $20-40 it costs to become a member. This place is worth saving and has history written all over it! The staff is very helpful and will assist you with understanding how to score the game. They just refinished some of the courts, so it is a little disappointing that some patrons still write on them, when there are signs posted everywhere asking you not to do that. Let's keep this place! It's a gem!!

Yelp
Such a fun time and an awesome piece of Saint Pete history! Love our Wednesday night league nights... Good music, fun mix of people (all ages and types) and BYOB :))) Really nice group of volunteers running the place. Do an excellent job! So glad I started coming here. Ditch the stereotype of Shuffleboard and give it a try... It sure ain't your parents shuffleboard!
google avatar

Yelp
This is the mythological Florida of Old. A great change of pace to a modern life. Take a break and enjoy an evening here playing shuffle board on sand...better yet bring a group of friends for a twist on a night out.
google avatar

Martie P.

Yelp
Who know shuffleboard was the best Friday night you could have? St. Petersburg Shuffleboard Club, that's who! It's free, bringing your own coolers is welcomed - just be courteous and clean up after yourself. There are even covered, stadium styled seats. So, from 7-11pm Friday night, head down to the courts for some serious fun with a diverse crowd!
