East Austin Bar St. Roch’s Closes Permanently Due to COVID-19 Pandemic - Eater Austin

"St. Roch’s Bar, located on 515 Pedernales Street, was a popular dive bar and crawfish restaurant in East Austin known for its New Orleans theme. It was a hub for New Orleans Saints fans, hosting watch parties for games, and conducted crawfish boils during the season. The closure was attributed to landlord issues and the COVID-19 pandemic. The bar was initially opened as the Double Down Lounge in 2010 and rebranded as St. Roch’s in 2011." - Nadia Chaudhury

Cool place with good drinks. A divey bar with everything you could want. The art on the walls and outside is particularly cool. I recommend the ice coffee as a good summer drink. No food that I could see, but it's a great place to kick off your night or end it. Bathrooms aren't awesome but nothing you wouldn't expect. Not too many people when I went, but you can tell it picks up.

Small dive bar. Friendly atmosphere Looks a little sketchy on the outside but everyone was very nice. Bartender even put our college game on for us. They have a quarters pool machine. There is also a little food truck right outside. Beer selection is not very extensive but will get the job done.

Great divey little bar on the East Side. Chris and Steve are great, the drinks are stiff, and the jukebox is wonderfully eclectic (from Slayer to the Smiths). Try the great Cajun food from the trailer outside, you won't be disappointed.

Great spot to watch the Saints game. Divey with super friendly patrons - a very New Orleans bar in East Austin.

Pure New Orleans vibe. Cheap drinks and free food during Saints games (usually). Bartenders have always been great to me so was surprised by other reviews stating the opposite. But neighborhood dive bars are not everyone's style (not that I want to drink with those people anyway). Get a drink, play a game of pool, smoke on the patio, have a good time.

Great local bar to go too the atmosphere is definitely great. They have happy hour every day from 4-7pm. There always airing the New Orleans games as well as LSU and when there not playing they show the others as well..my only issues I've ran into was the bartender Katilyn she is very rude and unprofessional. So I opened a tab and I obviously wasn't done but I closed it. So afterwards she walks up after i cashed out and picked up my receipt and was like really no tip and threw my receipt on the bar..so i said no mam i was actually going to leave a cash tip vs leaving/putting the tip on my card..very unprofessional but I still tipped as I was going to anyway but that is definitely not a way to handle a paying customer. So if she's working definitely expect unprofessionalism but if pake, jade, john or working definitely expect professionalism and strong drinks and definitely a good vibe.

Having lived in NOLA I'm always suuuuper suspicious of NOLA "themed" places abroad. Immediately walking in, this place is different. It's done out of love. I imagine the owner(s) lived there themselves and just wanted to bring a little of NOLA with them to Austin for kindred souls to have a place that feels like home. And they succeeded. Feels like walking into Buddha Belly or Kingpin. Only thing I'd add is a $6 beer and a shot special to truly round it out.

Staff and owners are so kind. Real people. A dive bar that that feels like off the Quarter.
