While I found their decor to be quirky and charming, I was overall underwhelmed by this place. The eggs, toast, and home fries I ordered were fine, but nothing to write home about, and the price was way too high for the quality of the food.
In the vestibule there was a sign that mentioned being allergy-friendly, which got us very excited, because eating out is a challenge for the nut-allergic member of our party. Unfortunately, they are not allergy-friendly. You really shouldn't be able to say that if most of your dining options - including the thing you're named for - have nuts (and probably other common allergens) in the mix. I'm not disparaging their formula; I'm sure their pancakes are delicious, though I didn't have any. However, it sucks to go to a restaurant and wait in line for 20 minutes for the cafeteria-style service, only to be told that 75% of the menu would send one of us to the hospital, especially when the restaurant went out of their way to include "allergen-friendly" signage. Maybe I shouldn't have taken that sign seriously, since it was just a piece of printer paper with jokes written all over it, but it sucks either way.
A minor thing, but the sidewalk around the building - which you have to take after you exit through the back, if you parked in the front, unless you want to walk in the middle of the parking lot - has potted plants hanging over it that dangle low enough to hit your head on. Silly decor choice.
