"This burger joint with killer rooftop views has a secret. You see, the chili cheese fries at Stackhouse aren’t exactly on the menu. But ask about them for a huge pile that can easily serve four or more." - Amy McCarthy, Rachel Pinn

Such a wonderful place to eat. The staff was super nice. The food was delicious. Outside patio seating was beautiful. I had the Cuban sandwich with onion rings. My husband got the chicken strips. We also got chips and queso and fried mushrooms. Everything was excellent. I was very full could not finish meal so I was happy to have leftovers.

Come hungry if you eat here. Their double meat burgers & Cuban sandwich are great. Sweet potato fries are “rockin” per the wife. Really good regular fries that aren’t greasy. Service was good and atmosphere is inviting.

Google
One of our favorite Burger places in DFW. Every time we are doing events in Dallas, we want to stop and eat here. The best think on the menu is their burgers. Pick the one you like and enjoy. They also have good happy hour deals if you are visiting during those hours. Special mention of the fried mozzarella. Those triangles are so good.

Google
The food is exceptional and huge portions! I usually order the turkey burger special, but I usually change the sweet potato fries to regular ones... they are huge! They even have options for my vegan homegirl ! They have an up and downstairs! There are inside and outside sections. This is my go-to chill spot... whether I'm doing paperwork or running away from it!

Found this through google for Saturday lunch, great spot! Grilled tilapia sandwich was AWESOME, went well with the sweet potatoe fries. The wait wasn’t long and we enjoyed eating on the patio. Looks like there’s an upstairs area too that would be fun at night.

Ever since moving to Texas, this has been on all my friend's lists of must-try places in Dallas. Almost needless to say, I was more than satisfied with my meal, the staff, and the wait time. (almost none to be seated, and 6 minutes for my meal) The only downside is I had to wait almost 10 minutes for the Mac and cheese to cool down coming straight from the oven 🥵 I ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich and asked for a fried egg on top. I was not disappointed!

Google
The burgers here are on point. Juicy, flavorful, cooked to order, and the veggies are fresh. My brother had the Philly cheesesteak and he enjoyed it as well. The fries were super hot and fresh when they arrived to the table. The staff was friendly and fast with the service. There’s parking in the back and also street parking behind the restaurant as well. There’s patio seating around the side and also an upstairs porch with seating. If you are craving a great burger and in the Deep Ellum area stop here!

Google
Great burgers! We went about 2pm and a Tuesday afternoon and the place was pretty quiet. I had a burger with bacon and grilled onions. Bacon was great, extra mound of gouda, and enough grilled onions for 5 burgers. I also has sweet potato fries and they were good. My teenager had a regular burger with just American cheese and pickles with original fries. Also very good. With 2 soft drinks, our meal was $40. Good, simple, fresh food. Next time, I want to try the Mac n cheese, it looked great!

Yelp
First time here. You order at the register and they bring the food to your table. I got the gyro with onion rings. Unfortunately, the gyro meat was very very well done. Kind of like eating jerky. The onion rings were undercooked and really greasy. My beer glass was not filled up. About two inches below the rim. The rest of my party had the turkey burger which actually very tasty. They gave huge servings of French fries. Parking is in the back and it's pretty tight.

Yelp
The food was delicious and satisfying . They have a outside patio with seating . The prices are reasonable and they do have a happy hour. The staff was really friendly and the wait time very short . The burger is a good size and the vegetables were fresh . They do ask how you would like your burger cooked which is good. I opted for mine to be medium well and it was cool to perfection. Not too far from Baylor hospital and really close to deep ellum. They do give you alot of fries and they were fresh also . I live the vibe here with memorabilia scattered throughout the restaurant . The owner even came and visited with me to make sure everything was satisfactory and how I heard about the restaurant. Nice place !

Yelp
Awesome burger joint in a quaint old house. What else do you want? Get the chips and French onion dip. Just like yer mom used to make on grocery day

Yelp
The name and location were always a bit odd to me, but Im glad I came here. Parking in their lot can be a nightmare depending on how busy they are. Youre better off parking on the street near the place. Also, don't feel too bad if you end up circling around the place like I did. Service is matter of fact (which I like), but they still a good job of explaining the menu and being cordial. I ended up getting a single patty burger, with cheddar cheese, with bacon, avocados, and grilled onions added. You'll need a big mouth, because these burgers get really big. Of course it depends on how much you stack, but even plain, it's pretty big. I like the fact that you can have your meat cooked at whatever desired temperature. They use fresh avocados, they used big cuts of bacon, and they actually grill the onions. They use the biggest hunk of iceberg lettuce I've seen on a burger. I can't complain too much, because I feel it helped make this better feel refreshing rather than greasy. I wish this place stacked the veggies on top, but this is a personal preference that's not worth fighting for. This is a pretty good old fashioned hamburger place. It's not groundbreaking, innovative, or trendy, but it's better than some other old tiny hamburger joints I've been to in DFW.

Yelp
STACK is the key word here ... they stack a lot of good food .. and it all is delicious!! The Cuban meat is slow cooked / marinated... delicious... and the fries with chili is made with steak ... so good .. four people could share this .. the turkey burger was very flavorful and big I got onion rings with it and OMG !! Those are the BEST and a must to get :) The patio had a view of Dallas .. beautiful They open up at 11 .. I would get there then .. parking is tight and few spots :) Love this jewel of Dallas :)

Yelp
A new favorite! M and I were looking to try a new spot one Friday evening and we came across Stackhouse. I live very close to a Rodeo Goat so that's usually my burger go-to, but I was intrigued by Stackhouse's menu and the reviews were good, so we went. It was kind of late but I thought we still might have trouble parking or would have to wait. Not the case! We found ample parking in their lot and walked in to be greeted by friendly staff who told us that we order at the counter then find seating. M ordered one of the specials, which was like a reuben and came with fries and a drink (it was called Carnegie), and I ordered the spicy patty melt and onion rings. Just water for me. We took our number, got our drinks, and sat at a table. The layout is a bit interesting and I thought the tables were a bit close together, but not a huge issue. When the food arrived, my eyes widened at the mountain of food. Maybe you can see in the photos but the portions are very generous. I expected maybe half of the amount of onion rings when I ordered it. Another guest pointed out that the onion rings looked amazing. I should have offered her some because we definitely had enough to share. I was glad we had both fries and onion rings to try. I preferred the fries because they were saltier and I am a sucker for salty, savory food. The onions in the onion rings were sweet and the batter was a more fragile kind rather than the hard shell ones. The cornmeal gave it a nice texture as well. On to the sandos, my patty melt was fine and the fried egg was a nice touch, but I did not find it to be spicy at all. In fact, I was eyeing the buffalo chicken sandwich that someone at a neighboring table got. That's probably what I'll try next time. M enjoyed his Carnegie. I tried a bite and I think I liked his food more than mine. :P These were also very large in portion that we each only ate half. We brought the leftovers home and ate it the next day for brunch. I heated them up in a pan with a bit of oil so that the bread got crispy again and wasn't a soggy mess. The fried egg in my patty melt translates well to brunch. While we were eating, someone checked in on us to see if everything was going well, which was a nice touch as well. I'll be back to try the buffalo chicken sandwich!

Nessa D.

Yelp
Food was great ! Cheese fries and the Patty melt were delicious. The place is small but food came out fast. The Spicy Patty Melt was spicy with a lot of thin sliced grilled jalapeños, they didn't play around. I would definitely come back and try one of their shakes next time and a regular burger .

Samuel G.

Yelp
This is a maaaaaaddd burger! At first the place looks rather small and the Parking is kinda tight. I would recommend traveling in a car, a truck can result in cumbersome. The interior is very nice with daily specials drawn in a chalk board and even an upstairs balcony (I haven't been up myself) . They got tons of types of cheeses to choose from and a bunch of things you can add on to the burger. Let's get down to it, the burger itself is cooked to perfection, I always get my burger meat medium or medium well and in this case the medium well is the killer, I get the double meat (when your super super hungry), pepper jack cheese, avocado, bacon, and grilled jalapeños. The pickles they serve is not something you're used to but such a brilliant idea, am def going to start using those pickles when I grill it up at home. The fries are also very tasty with a crispy and not too oily finish it's a plus on that burger. I also like that they have separate mayo for you to serve yourself, if your like me and love heavy mayo then this is perfect. They also have ketchup and hot sauce like Valentina as a side, you can't go wrong with that buddy! All in all I've been back 3 times, and I strongly recommend this burger if you are visiting Dallas or in the area. Haven't tried the other food so this is a review solely on the burger.

Juanita S.

Yelp
First time here and I thought the price was a little expensive for $43 for 2 meals but it was worth it. The food was delicious and we were very pleased. Would definitely come again when I'm in the area.

Alondra A.

Yelp
Great options salads, sandwiches, appetizer, and the better burger. It's amazing how you can build your own and stack it up the way you deserve!!!! Costumer services is hight top, thanks Jesus and Dayana for the great experience ever . The place is clean and I loved the patio.

Preston D.

Yelp
I love this place. It's not easy to get to from the greater Dallas area, but it's well worth your while if you're wanting to eat the best sit down burger place in town. Everything on the menu is good. Sandwiches, sides, desserts, you name it. Never have I been disappointed in anything I've ordered. Service is great and so is the ambiance. I only wish we had this restaurant closer to my house!

Christine M.

Yelp
The food here is fantastic! 7 months later, and we still compare every burger restaurant to this one. The portions were generous and the food was still very hot when we got back to our hotel room. The onion rings were the best we have had in a long time. The service was good.

Lucie D.

Yelp
I rounded up from 3.5 stars to 4 stars. Service was good. There is happy hour until 6. Definite plus. We topped the burger with avocado, jalapeños, and mushrooms. It was huge. We couldn't finish it and took it home. The patty was a little dry and needed a little more flavor. The patty melt was really good and flavorful. Super juicy. I didn't think it was spicy but I can eat really spicy. If I came back, I would get this. The chili cheese fries were tasty and a huge portion. We ended up take it home too. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here but if I was in the area and wanted a patty melt, I would consider coming here

Mark P.

Yelp
Day rd The Cuban sandwich was very good in fact everything I've had here has been excellent very friendly staff

Chris K.

Yelp
Their was a rumblin in my tumblin! So tapped the Yelp app and BOOM! Burger joint around the corner. Got burger and fries. Fries are awesomely fresh just as good as the burger. Definitely worth the stop. Thank you Yelp!

Sandra T.

Yelp
Great Cuban sandwich and very spicy patty melt! Wow! We visited here today and Dimitri was very friendly and helpful with the menu and best choices. We ordered the Cuban sandwich and the Spicy patty melt, which was very spicy! Great atmosphere and super nice staff. ~ Upstairs is great with awesome views for sure!

Natosha T.

Yelp
Food an ambiance was good. Will come back with family. I hope to checkout the rooftop.

Wendy G.

Yelp
Brought my 76-year-old mom here before a doctor's appointment and she ordered the chili burger and onion rings. She loved it!!! And, I second her review of my Swiss and mushroom burger! We shared the onion rings and still took home enough for dinner!!! Clean, quick to order and serve, great food, unlimited drink refills...can't ask for more!

Regina W.

Yelp
My husband and I wanted burgers for dinner. We decided to try stack house after googling a few places. This place popped up! Great ambience with outdoor seating. But what's best about it is the juicy burgers!! They are absolutely to die for!! I'll be back.

Soren J.

Yelp
The Cuban was absolutely out of this WORLD! Great portion size, the mojo pork was flavorful and super juicy! Lots of Ham, pickles and Swiss were amazing! I could talk all day about his Cuban but I won't. This is a must try! You won't be disappointed! Sorry would have taken a picture but my sandwich disappeared right before my eyes...

Yelp
If you're ever in Dallas and in the mood for a real deal burger then stack house is the place for you. Let me start by saying this is not my first, second, or even third time visiting this establishment but every time it is a for sure show stopper. I typically order the single patty, topped with grilled onions, pickles, bacon, and either Swiss or American cheese. The burger is always fresh and made to order just the way I like it. The bun comes toasted with a buttery finish, and please don't get m started on the fresh cut fries because they are to die for. I've also previously tried the turkey burger, the Buffalo chicken sandwich and a gyro, and let me tell you none of these items were a disappointment. I will say this isn't the cheapest place to get a good burger and fries ,but when you're paying for quality you can't really complain! In all, I'd rate this place a 5/5, and I can't wait to return the next time I'm in the mood for an award winning burger. Rating: 5/5 Price: $$, around $12-$14 for a burger/fries Customer Service: 5/5 Stackhouse 2917 Gaston ave. Dallas, Tx 75226 FMOIG: tayloreatsdallas

Yelp
A definite top contender in the city of Dallas for some of the best food & one of the best views of Dallas!!! They have a rooftop patio with an excellent view of the skyline that everyone looks for. I got a patty melt & added chili cheese on it to make it that much better. Rye bread, quality burger, home made chili & melted cheese to give it that extra piece to send it over the top. The onion rings were hand battered & had excellent flavor with just the right amount of crisp. Now to a hidden gem, the MAC & CHEESE!!! Yes they have Mac-n-cheese here and it is so worth it. Some of the ooziest cheese with a nice broiled top to give it a nice crunch. Pure quality food here & they also have a bar if your a drinker or just want a beer to enjoy a good view after a hard days work. I will be back to Stack House & if your considering coming here then STOP and do yourself the favor it deserves and go have that mac-n-cheese because you deserve it!!! Later alligator

Yelp
Food is always delicious at Stackhouse. Service is always great too. Good experience every time.

Breck M.

Yelp
Fantastic happy hour with crew of 20 here last night. Several great options for craft beers, apps, margaritas, and burgers/sandwiches. Debra at front end ran the place like a fine oiled machine. We'll be back soon!

STEVE B.

Yelp
Greek salad was great - although it had enough onions to make Shrek blush. Cool deck upstairs with great views and some fraternity style couches - plenty of shaded seating under the trees downstairs. Service on your own at the counter / cold drinks. Nice visit.

Lara C.

Yelp
This is a cozy little burger place with outdoor and indoor seating close to deep ellum. They have a private parking lot which is very convenient for this busy area. I ordered fries (extra crispy) and a single patty cheese burger. It was really good but the service was also very slow. You order and then seat yourself. The ordering part was quick, there was no line but it took a bit too long for the food to come out. I'll come back and try again, hopefully the food comes out a faster next time.

Bill U.

Yelp
Droped in with my nephew for lunch and ordered at the entrance. We both ordered the spicy jalapeño patty melt. It comes on marbled rye bread, egg, jalapeños, grilled onions and thousand island dressing. The only problem I had was the size of the burger itself as it wasn't large enough to cover the bread and the second half of the meal was mostly egg and onion. The restaurant itself was perfect for a Sunday lunch and eating outside on the upper-deck. If your not careful you will drive right by it as it's kind of tucked away and pinched in between a couple of buildings. I will return and try other menu options.

Gary F.

Yelp
Awesome. Come on... go to this place. Always a great burger. Onion rings are perfect. Fun place.

Jennifer S.

Yelp
Awesome food ,great staff, and amazing view! Highly recommended, a must try. And make sure you say hi to the resturant squirrel who is a regular lol.

Yelp
Stack has done it again. Decided after a long day and missing lunch. I needed to stock up for the winter. Went with a custom triple medium rare and it didn't disappoint. Some how they never fall apart for a one handed attack. Fry's were on spot tonight.

Yelp
Tucked back in Gaston Ave with parking in the back, this little burger place is very rustic but sports a good menu of hearty items. We were greeted as we came in and helped out with suggestion from our cashier. We ordered at the counter before finding a table. I ordered the special which was the Carnegie Sandwich with fries. My wife had the single burger with avocado and my son the bacon burger. Mozzarella sticks with marinara rounded out our meal. Decor and seating was definitely the high point of this experience. However, the food was plentiful and well prepared. The mozzarella sticks were typical faire ; nothing special. My wife and son tucked into their 6 oz burgers with gusto. Thick, chewy ciabatta buns definitely balanced the meaty Pattie's. The bacon in my son's burger was thick and chewy. If you'd rather have crispy, you probably need to specify. My Carnegie sandwich was a Ruben on marbled rye stacked high with pastrami and Swiss. I usually like a bit more thousand island on my Ruben, but it would have been overkill on this sandwich. It was meaty, juicy, and oozing with cheese; a true Texas version of the classic deli sandwich. The rye bread as well toasted but still melted into the other ingredients before I could get it down. This sandwich was the highlight of the evening. As I reviewed the pile of napkins by my plate, I think I would rate it as one of my top ten Rubens. I would definitely check out the Stack House on Gaston for a good "rib sticking" meal.

Sheller K.

Yelp
Stopped in here today for lunch with a coworker. I was very impressed. The burger with bleu cheese was delicious, and the guy behind the counter recommended the mac and cheese. I am glad I took the recommendation, because the mac and cheese is fantastic!! Next time, I'm going to get the burger without the bun because I didn't have room to finish the burger AND mac and cheese. Obviously, I will be back. Seriously, the mac and cheese is better than any other restaurant I've ever ordered it from.

Beighlie O.

Yelp
sitting here doing a "live review" as we try things. First up is the classic cheese fries. Let's be fair, there are few foods in this world as satisfying as the simple baked potato. Stackhouse takes everything we love about them and piles it on top of textbook-perfect house made fries, served with scratch made ranch. My only dissatisfaction comes from wanting sour cream instead of ranch. The wings are good. Lightly breaded and fried to order (no dry, tough, overcooked chicken here), and the Buffalo sauce is legit. The Philly: The "shaved ribeye" was actually dried-out pot roast. Which is really, really unfortunate because everything else about this sandwich was spot on. The Patty Melt: absolutely incredible. Boyfriend didn't care for the egg on it, but outside of that a solid, traditional, mouthwatering patty melt. Single Burger with gouda, mushrooms, and onions: could have skipped the garden here, as it adds nothing to my build your own except height. Now, if I had gone classic by adding only cheddar, it would have been perfect. All the veggies were fresh and crisp. The burger itself was seasoned exactly right, with a nice fat/lean blend. Downside here? I asked for medium and it came out more than well. All in all, we would definitely come back, but it's not the top of our list.

Jeanie G.

Yelp
Hands down the best burger I have ever had. Not to mention the max & cheese was delicious. This small Dallas eatery is AMAZING.

Ray F.

Yelp
Wow people! Stop what you are doing! Pull out your calendar and plan a cool date evening (wife, GF, husband, BF, neighbors or just bring them all!) to this super spot with a view! This has to be the coolest view near ground level of the Dallas sunset! Ignore the political and economic craziness and come here for a burger and beer! Scared of 2nd story heights, no problem, they have a ground level patio. Want to watch the game, no problem, they have plenty of TVs inside. Want to sit at the bar, there is one of those! Parking is behind with more nearby. Your hosts are friendly, sure and confident that you will be impressed with the ambiance, service and food for a super great experience for all you bring along. On my long overdue visit, I popped in because I wanted a good burger. Spoiler alert, I didn't get that. I got a GREAT burger instead! It may actually be the best burger in Dallas! The menu board is up over the order counter. Order and they will bring it to you. I ordered the "House Greens" salad to start (it's enough for 2.), "Double" (2 6 oz juicy patties) with American cheese and bacon plus an order of fries. My date had the single with onion rings. Tip, the fries are fantastic, but the onion rings are addictive! The huge salad was so good it made me giggle. Crisp, sweet, cool goodness in every bite. Ever had a burger sooo good that you partially deconstructed it just to figure out which one item was the best? I did and all were insanely great in flavor, freshness and preparation. The fries are really perfectly prepared and cooked. But the thin, sweet onion rings are to die for! The domestic bottled beer prices are quite good! Reasonable beer selection of the artisan and craft beers plus wines. A few other adult drink options are available. The cost is way undervalued for the overall ambiance, décor and attitude of this amazing place overlooking downtown Dallas!

David R.

Yelp
Our second visit was just as good as the first!! Double meat cheeseburger with onion rings is a must !! The chicken fried steak sandwich with sweet potato fries is also very good . My son also tried the brownie and chocolate chip cookie too!! Very fresh and Good !! When in Deep Ellum, give them a try. Go get Full

Sam A.

Yelp
Just moved to Dallas from Tulsa. Tulsa has many top shelf burger joints. Ron's, Bills Jumbo burgers, Goldie's, JJ's, Webers, etc. We have tried many in Dallas, Jake's, Keller's, Good Friends, Honor Bar, JG's, Maple & Motor, etc I have to say Stack House has my vote as #1 in Dallas to date. There are more spots to try, but Stack House is a very solid pick. I had the single burger with American cheese. It comes with lettuce, tomato, pickles, onions. There are many add-ons such as 3 types of jalapeños (Pickled, grilled, fresh), bacon, guacamole, eggs, etc. My wife had the Turkey burger and said it was delicious. Same choices as regular burger toppings. She ordered a combo, it came with sweet potato fries. I ordered onion rings, breaded very lightly and not too greasy. Their menu has something for everyone. Chicken sandwiches, salads, fish, wings, gyros, loaded cheese fries, etc. They have soft drinks, beer, wine and shakes. If you are in Dallas, give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

jess f.

Yelp
if you asked me what the best burger in dallas is -- stack house would be my answer every time. in the last 14 years it's existed, despite several changes of obnoxious managers and then new ownership, the food has stayed consistently good. great quality, great taste, giant portions -- my only real complaint is that it's always been expensive and has only gone up of course... but if you're willing to drop $16+ on a burger, mountain of fries and a soda then this is the spot. ps if you're affiliated with stack house and reading this then please bring back the monster oatmeal crème pies, i need one!!!!

Caleb R.

Yelp
I ordered the single burger with bacon and cheddar cheese (these are optional) and a vanilla shake. The entire burger was well seasoned and of course they cook it the way you want your patty. I tasted the shake and it was very thick and creamy. I found this place just on my Apple Maps, and I know I'll be back in the future...

Clark P.

Yelp
Delicious and large portions. Friendly atmosphere but parking can be tough when busy

Candie W.

Yelp
Well, the ambiance is beautiful for Texas, "Hey Y'all" A co-worker was visiting and this little gem was in walking distance from the hotel (Home2Suites by Hilton on Gaston). Since we are having great weather, we decided to walk. Short walk, maybe two blocks. I was impressed. AMBIANCE: It's a small little place (even the parking lot is small). The restaurant has a down-home feel, complete with patio seating. There was ample amount of seating both inside and outside, I also stairs - maybe rooftop seating (it was too dark for me to check). There is a self-serve station for burgers. The staff was super nice and friendly, but overwhelmed. There were 3 staff working the floor. One waiting tables, one at the cashier, and one on cashier/kitchen. I got the idea this was a good place, as the line was out the door. FOOD: So, we look over yelp reviews while in line. Food looks yummy, we see a few things come out the kitchen (still looks yummy, seems like a win-win). We review the menu and now its time to order. I, of course, order homemade chips and dip - lets see if they stand up to my fave. My co-worker with the massive appetite orders a single patty burger, chicken wings, and onion rings. This was 7:51pm. Our food came out at exactly 8:43pm. We were both frustrated at this point. Several items were being returned. Several customers were just as frustrated as we were. I wanted to leave at 30 minutes, but the staff were so overwhelmed we couldn't get a moment. PRESENTATION: The food was pretty, served hot and fresh BUT bland. NO flavor on the onion rings, just bland batter (just flour and grease, for sure). The onion rings are actually onion strings. The burger was bland and nothing grand about it, pretty basic. The chicken wings (which were ordered with sauce on the side) was about the same, no seasoning....none whatsoever. The chicken came with celery sticks and carrot sticks. The chips were plentiful but greasy and the dip was fine, it was onion dip and had fine onions mixed about. The only issue is it wasn't enough for all the chips. COST: We were out of $20 bucks total - no drinks bought. It was a wash. We did not finish the food. I wouldn't go back or suggest someone to go. I think with more staff, this place could be great!!! As there are just a few eateries in walking distance from the hotel (well, two - this one and Potbelly) and the hospital (Baylor) is also in walking distance.

LaToya A.

Yelp
Ordered the wings and fried mushrooms on ubereats. The wings werent my favorite but they were decent; just a little too wet for my taste. Loved the fried mushrooms.

Violet B.

Yelp
Not only is the staff wonderful and the vibes incredible, but the food is a 10/10!!!! I am so glad that my coworker told me about this place because I would've never known about it and I live less than 10 min away! This restaurant is in a quaint little house with an awesome rooftop patio. I highly recommend!! My friend got the spicy patty melt and she said it was very good and pretty spicy. Definitely check this place out!

Ariel T.

Yelp
I definitely understand why people are saying this is the best burger in Dallas. The bacon was perfectly crisp, not too crisp where it breaks apart and not limp or soggy. It packed awesome flavor. The burger on its own (patty) was spectacular, not over compensated for in any way but not bland either. I absolutely hated the fries however I did love the fact that they punched small holes to allow the steam to escape which preserved their crispy texture. Unfortunately they were over cooked and tasted like "burnt". They obviously aren't burnt but they're over cooked and tasted like it. The bottom bun was soggy but I'm 90% sure that's because I ordered this through Uber so it was sitting on itself for a bit. I'll definitely order here again, they were great.

Emily H.

Yelp
One of my favorite burgers. Idk what it is but this burger is so satisfying in every single bite. The bun is perfectly buttered an toasted. The patty has a nice crisp on the outside but juicy on the inside. My mouth is watering just thinking about it again. All at a reasonable price too. The cheese fries were good but nothing special. The chicken fried chicken was pretty good too. Very crispy and topped with a good amount of slaw. I'd prefer the burger over this next time though. Small place with a patio and rooftop. I definitely will be back!

Yelp
We went here for a late lunch on a Sunday and had an excellent experience. I loved the restaurant in a house feel, I was not familiar with this neighborhood and never knew there were such beautiful homes in the area. I loved everything about this place. The service was friendly and helpful. The manager came to our table and conversed a bit with us and the little one, a very nice touch. Plus he checked in on us a couple of times to make sure everything was ok. The food was excellent. Our burgers were top-notch. The wife got blue cheese burger with bacon, I got just blue cheese. Both were cooked perfectly medium as requested. The meat was seasoned! Yea! Really, really good burger. We also ordered a milk shake for the little one and it was excellent. A side of mac n' cheese was not typical bland from a box but rather made with real cheese (very cheesy) and big noodles. It was really good, I liked it a lot. It's a very healthy portion and we took more than half of it home. They also have a bar with beers on tap so that is a plus. Private parking lot made the trip a breeze. We absolutely will return here again, it is an outstanding burger joint (and they have other food too).

Yelp
Burgers were very good. The meat is fresh (no frozen patty here!). My husband got a double and could have just eaten a single since the patty was SO large. I like the toasted buns. And they were generous with the toppings. The fries were meh, greasy. My husband, a fry snob, was less than impressed. The atmosphere was nice, good music and AC was doing its job. I would eat here again if only to try other things on the menu. Gave 4 of 5 stars based on French fries.

Yelp
One of my favorite burger joints in Dallas I am blessed to live walking distance from Stackhouse and I haven't gotten tired of it. Staff is friendly and helpful, food is prepared fresh to order every time and is always delicious. If you're in the deep Ellum area give it a try!

Yelp
Food was not bad but not worth $40 for 2 burgers and fries. Mine was over cooked and didn't really taste like much, the bun was good. Seems like a nice spot for the view. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing

Yelp
5-star comfort eats. I poured over so many menus of so many eateries to find quintessential cheese fries. No cheese sauce. No poutine. No goat's cheese. Just straight-up cheese fries covered in melted shredded cheddar cheese. I asked that my cheese fries be so loaded with cheese that I couldn't poop until 2021. I asked for a vat of ranch dressing, because living up north for the past 13 years, I've been so incredibly deprived of good ranch. The Stackhouse did not disappoint. For extra measure, I ordered the grilled cheese. Sweet Cheezus. So good. The portions were Texas-sized...only bigger. I ate a quarter of the sandwich and half of the cheese fries -- a feat unto itself considering the size. I left the rest for the pub food Gods in homage for having my cheese fries dreams fulfilled.
