"This neighborhood bistro offers several upscale starters like truffle-asiago fries or cornmeal fried oysters, but the tuna nachos are truly a can’t-miss dish. They may not be as big and messy as others around town, but the airy wonton chip is the ideal vessel for gathering the chunks of seared ahi tuna, which are topped with a slightly spicy wasabi and ginger sauce." - Parker Milner

The Hungry Detective has been going to Stacks for the last several years…Stacks is always consistent and good…Michelle knows her stuff and serves up great drinks with a smile!!!

Google
Where do the locals eat? Here. Fresh local seafood options. Great steaks. Clutch menu for everyone. Very reasonable drink prices. Always has intriguing specials. Highly recommend, until I can't get a reservation - then you can't go there anymore.

Google
So I have visited Stack's several times to have drinks at the bar. There is a young bartender there that is not only beyond rude, but usually drunk and rude; a fun combination! On SEVERAL occasions I've witnessed her pouring shots for she and what I assume are the kitchen staff and getting waisted. I figured maybe it was a fluke the first time I went there, but it has happened almost every time since. I have friends that go there as well, and they've said this is a common occurrence. As I said not only does she get drunk, but she's also super rude and snippy. How can an establishment like this continue to let this happen? Not only is this unbelievably unprofessional, but I'm sure they are all getting in to their cars after work and then driving home. Scary!

Great dinner location and the food is great. Service was fine.

Google
Amazing! In a plaza but so cozy and intimate! The food was so good. My husband and I ate outside and were so comfortable. Excellent service! The cornbread oysters were so tasty! Perfect! The fish and chips were plentiful and more than enough. My husband has the shrimp and grits. Yummy! The wine was delicious and the atmosphere was awesome! Would definitely recommend. Will be back when in town again.

Google
Wow!! In Charleston there are a lot of amazing food choices but this one knocks it out of the park! One of the best meals I have had in the Charleston area - words can't describe how good it is.

Bob Brennaman(REALTOR)

Google
We had a great meal there this past Friday. Friendly staff, good size portions of food.

John Scheibler

Google
Excellent meal, nice unpretentious atmosphere, exceptional staff. Perfectly cooked salmon, house made fettuccini, zucchini, tomatoes, spinach, olives and feta. Perfect combination. The only thing that would make it better would be a piece of bread to sop up the juice with, I almost drank from the bowl. I will be back.

Yelp
Blair is the BEST bartender around!!!! The owners also visited us! Patrick makes the food look and taste the best: fresh and delicious!! We loved the setting and inside. Do not worry about the location in a strip mall!!

Yelp
'm embarrassed to admit that we've been in Mt. Pleasant for 12 years and last night was our first visit. Talking about a hidden gem ... blink and you could miss it. It's nestled among the storefronts in the old Bi Lo Shopping Center on Ben Sawyer. We were looking for a low key place to celebrate my big, big birthday. After reading Joan M.'s Five Star review, I was sold. I mentioned, in passing to my husband, that this was a restaurant that we should check out. He called and made a reservation. There's plenty of parking. We were warmly greeted and seated (at his request) at a back booth away from the bar. The ambience is warm , classic and inviting. Our delightful server, Erica, approached our table right away with a canister of cold water, menu, menu of specials and beverage list. Honestly, I can't recall if spirits were available but there are many wine and beer choices. I knew I wanted the house made Sangria which was ' a big pour,' served in a red wine glass garnished with citrus. It was potent. Hub had a red which was satisfying. We placed our orders ... hub, from the daily specials; I, from the house menu. Everything was fabulous! Hub's chicken and sausage gumbo was chunky and perfectly seasoned. He loved the hearty brisket served with roasted carrots and tiny potatoes. Both selections were from the daily specials. I ordered from the current menu. The poached apple salad with baby greens, blue cheese and walnuts was fresh, huge, easily shareable. The house-made raspberry-Malbec vinaigrette was a delightful addition. My medium grilled Ahi tuna was perfectly prepared to order. Served over sautéed spinach with roasted tiny potatoes, accompanied with a whole grain mustard buttercream, this ample portion was delicious and amazingly satisfying. While we usually pass on dessert, we forced ourselves to share a large slice of dreamy key lime pie with chocolate cookie crust. Every dish looked fabulous. If you haven't been to Stack's Evening Eats and are looking for delicious food in a low key environment do make a Resy and check it out. You'll love it!

Yelp
Wanted to check this place out for a while It's so cute inside Went with 3 girlfriends for dinner & drinks. We had a really great time. Service was also great! Good was timely and tasty I will back again and try new things for sure!

Yelp
Stack's Evening Eats has been in Mt. Pleasant for apparently a very long time. I had never heard of it until a friend suggested we go there for dinner. It is located in a strip mall on Ben Sawyer, which is the same mall that has Steel City Pizza & West Marine. It was a fantastic night with phenomenal ambience, service, and outstanding food. It's a small space filled with locals. We had a reservation for six people, and I'm sure if we did not. We probably would not have gotten a table. It's very busy here, but the staff have it under control. They have a great selection of white and red wines to choose & choose we did!!! You can also sit at the bar, and get dinner there if it's just two of you. I am amazed that I have never been here or even heard of it before. We will definitely return and you should definitely give it a try too.

Lisa S.

Yelp
It doesn't look like much on the outside but it's charming inside and the food is outrageously delicious. We sat at the bar for drinks, appetizers and the main course and the service was excellent. We had the pork chop and some type of white fish and both were excellent. This is one of my two favorite restaurants in Mount Pleasant.

Cecilia B.

Yelp
We had an incredible dining experience yet again on Valentine's Day. Michelle is always such a wonderful server and the food is always spectacular. I had the ribeye special with red rice, broccolini, and crawfish sauce and my husband had the tuna entrée, medium rare. Both were phenomenal the oyster appetizer was also delicious! Can't wait to go back soon!

Tiffany A.

Yelp
A great dinner spot with quality food but a casual feel! Great option if you live in Mount Pleasant and don't feel like going into downtown. We started with the crispy brussel sprouts and then ordered the grilled ahi tuna, both were delicious. The dining room was a little dark, but the bar area is well lit and there is outdoor seating with string lights. Service was reasonable!

C S.

Yelp
Delicious menu and wonderful service. Scallops and risotto were amazing!! Neighborhood spot -welcoming and tucked away in a strip mall.

Kathy K.

Yelp
Wonderful surprise, great food and service . Had been there years before for lunch and when friends recommended it for dinner it was a pleasant return experience

Glenn Z.

Yelp
From start to finish everything was wonderfull. Our server was very helpful in food selection. The ambiance was very nice and friendly. Our seating was in the bar area and there was plenty of room between the tables. It has now become one of our favorite places to eat in proximity to our home.

Stephen C.

Yelp
Stack's never fails to deliver it truly one of the best casual dinning restaurants in the greater Charleston area.

John H.

Yelp
A great Mt Pleasant staple for us - don't let the strip mall fool you! (Isn't everything in MP in a strip?) I am a fan of their fried oysters, and shrimp. Great tuna nachos and fresh fish. The desserts are some of the best on this side of the bridge - including key lime on chocolate crust! Go get it.

Tracy N.

Yelp
Stack's Coastal Kitchen has become one of my favorite lunch places over the past year! I've picked up the salad of the day (with salmon, fresh mozzarella, apricots & more), the turkey avocado sandwich, roast beef sandwich, and chicken and broccoli take and bake -- all have been fabulous!

Avery W.

Yelp
Tuna tacos, outdoor seating and quick friendly service. This little place is doing a whole lot right!!!

Yelp
The Hangry Marketer visits #stacksmtpleasant with deja vu, a great environment, and our very prestigious and special guest, Barbara Franklin with Franklin & Associates. Thank you for joining us Barbara, you are a wealth of knowledge and experience! Stacks is a quaint and peaceful restaurant off of Ben Sawyer Blvd hiding away with a little sign to guide you through their doors. Walking in created a sense of deja vu for us, as it reminded us heavily of another restaurant, much to our delight! Being the classic image of a sandwhich shop, I got their "Turkey Cran" sandwhich- Coleslaw, turkey breast, cranberry, and swiss cheese all in one delicious bite. They offer soups and chips, but honestly this was enough on its own, and the best kind of messy! Considering we spoke for nearly 30 minutes at one of their tables before we ordered anything, their food was amazing, and the environment perfect, Stacks will definitely be added to our revisit list. Keep it up!!!! #thehangrymarketer #visitingangelsvisits #lowcountryfoodies #summerville #charleston #northcharleston #mountpleasant #lowcountry #charleston #summerville #southcarolina #sobeautiful #visitingangels #summervillesc #angelsofsummerville #homecare #visitingangelssc @ Stack's Coastal Kitchen / Stack's Evening Eats

Yelp
I love this place!. I always come and get the Thai chicken salad with their homemade peanut vinaigrette. Y'all it is to die four. Everything they make in the restaurant it's four. Everything they make in the restaurant it's fantastic. The Thai chicken salad is enough for two meals however it's hard to not eat it all in one sitting. I'm excited to try their Thai soup. It looks so tantalizing in the display case. I wish I could have stayed and ate in the restaurant but I I had errands to run. Give this family business or shot you won't be disappointed. I'm excited to try the evening eats as well. I guess I should say that I went there for lunch.

Larry P.

Yelp
We recently moved my Nephew to Mount Pleasant and were looking for a close restaurant to his condo - WOW! Did we find one! You walk into and are pleasantly greeted by a full bar and courteous staff. We made reservations and I highly suggest since seating is limited and it fills up quickly. Once you eat here you will understand. We decided to have drinks and a few starters. The bartender is very gifted in making the perfect cocktails! We all tried a different entree and enjoyed every bite. We ended with desserts and dessert cocktails. I have one suggestion- BOTTLE AND SELL THE STACKS SAUCE!! Omg!!

Scotty C.

Yelp
Not sure why this place isn't more popular. I haven't heard much about it aside from the fact that I have a friend who works there and sometimes posts about it. They have two sides to this place, one is Stack's Coastal Kitchen (lunch) and the other is Stack's Evening Eats (dinner). I stopped in for a late lunch while running some errands one afternoon and it was pretty slow because it was about to be closing time. That being said, the service was super fast as we were the only ones ordering at the time. The lunch menu consists of a list of fresh salads and a bunch of gourmet style sandwiches. They use top notch ingredients in the sandwiches and offer some creative options. I opted for a meatloaf sandwich they were running as a special and I'd highly recommend it if you come across it on the menu. They also offer some house made baked goods as well as catered entree's to take home for dinner i.e. lasagna, casseroles, chicken divan, etc... I look forward to making this a regular lunch stop and can't wait to try the other side for dinner.

Bronwen B.

Yelp
Oh wow! That's all I can say about our dinner tonight. From start to finish, it was amazing! The whipped butternut squash that came with my halibut was to die for! If you haven't been to Stack's Evening Eats yet, you need to eat here ASAP! Best food in the Charleston area! We started with the seared tuna nachos - tuna, avocado, cabbage, tomato, and a wasabi dressing. It was so good I wanted another! I had the sautéed halibut that was on special. It came with whipped butternut squash and succotash. That whipped squash!!!!! I want more!! Hubby had the fish and chips - he really liked it - I tried a little and it was very good too!! You need to eat here - it is a hidden gem in Mount Pleasant!

Peonia E.

Yelp
I'm going to give these guys five stars because they deserve it! Nice curated wine selection same for beers, a smaller menu with lots of tasty treats! My only regret is I did not try some Keylime or pecan pie which they said is made in house but I promised I would go back just for dessert and I will:-))

Audrey P.

Yelp
Food is so good and everyone working there are really friendly.I also love the night diner and sweet are the best of all.

SharMel H.

Yelp
Very Good food! It was our first time here! We ordered the risotto fritters, sirloin, and salmon. Everything was seasoned and perfectly cooked! We will definitely return when we come back to Charleston!

Christi T.

Yelp
We were looking for a spot in Mount Pleasant that offered a bit more upscale dinner options than surrounding restaurants. Luckily, we found just that. It is a quaint little restaurant with a great atmosphere. We came in early, about 5, so the restaurant was just opening. We were not the only guests however, there were already about 3 tables already sat. A good sign in my opinion. We were taken straight to the back of the restaurant and sat in a cozy booth. We reviewed the menu and saw many great options as a starter. From Tuna Nachos to Fresh Mozzarella Stuffed Risotto Fritters but we decided on their Housemade Fried Pickles. The pickles were a great choice too. They were fresh, crisp and the batter was thin yet crispy and seasoned well. As my entree, I chose the Grilled Ahi Tuna with baby spinach, petite potatoes, and a whole grain mustard buttercream. Such a great decision on my part I must say because it was absolutely delicious. I loved that the waiter asked how I would like my Ahi cooked as well. Most places serve it just slightly seared, mostly raw, but for my liking I prefer a medium cook. The whole grain mustard buttercream really made the dish for me. Such a great choice to pair that with petite potatoes. I am used to seeing Ahi Tuna accompanied by some type of rice but the potatoes, especially with that buttercream, was just perfect. I will definitely be returning, even just to try their other restaurant, Stacks Coastal Kitchen, next door.

Eric S.

Yelp
Love this place and the ownership. I would give it 5 stars, but sometimes it feels a bit too lackadaisical. I know it is a local small restaurant, but the bill comes non the less. It is pricy, and I expect the same each time as the price is the same each time. Hope that makes sense. We get the Tuna Nachos every time and if you go here and don't order this, you are missing out. I will be back soon!!!

Jay R.

Yelp
We havent thought enough of this spot for dinner despite frequently finding it a great spot for lunch. It will not show up on tourist radar, (thank goodness!)but the food is great and service friendly and atmosphere in a booth was cozy. Try the broiled brussel sprouts- the outside leaves are just the right crispiness & the sauce compliments without overwhelming. The corvina a mild flaky white fish was cooked perfectly over creamy grits. Wednesday is half price wine night making this an even greater value. And if you share desserts, I dare you to try and take only one bite of the the pecan pie. Cant be done. Its delicious! Will definitely being making another visit soon.

Jennifer B.

Yelp
Ok - so I love the tuna nachos like everyone else does, but man, I haven't felt so unwelcome at a bar that had all of two other patrons. All I noticed was that everyone, and I mean the bartender too, was busy texting and doing everything except waiting on his customers. Well, I take that back, he was busy talking to his regulars, but not me! I'll go back, but I miss that sweet bartender that was always up for conversation.

Heather S.

Yelp
This place was just okay to me. Food was mediocre and service was average. I'm always willing to give newer places another try if I'm not sold on the first go around. Maybe next time will be better? Will update my review then.

Bobbie M.

Yelp
First time going. Fabulous meal on the specials menu: filet mignon with mashed potatoes, carrots, and bernaise sauce. Good wine portions. Will go back.

Susan T.

Yelp
Tucked away in Oyster Park off Ben Sawyer Blvd, this wonderful little bistro is a true gem in Mt. Pleasant dining establishments. The steaks are cooked so perfectly, and ours were fabulous! The servers were attentive as well. It's a great place to stop while out running errands or taking an evening break for a delicious bite.

Kelsey J.

Yelp
Stack's is my hidden gem in Mount Pleasant. Not that I keep it a secret, but because it is not well known yet. For the longest time my friend who works there kept saying, "I am working at Stacks tonight" and I was like, "where is this pancake house you keep going to?" Until finally, I went there to find out it is fresh homemade deliciousness and no pancakes are on the griddle! There are two different sides to the restaurant: Stacks Coastal Kitchen and Stack Evening Eats. Coastal kitchen is open during the day until 3 and I have to say I eat lunch here at least once a week with my friend Susan. We normally just text each other randomly and say 12:15? and do not even question where we are meeting. I always order their turkey and avocado sandwich sub sprouts for the baby spinach and it has never let me down. All the ingredients are always fresh and everything is made in house. I was as equally impressed with their dinner side also! The meatloaf is to die for and the tomato basil soup could make any rainy day a little bit better, but make sure you ask for the crackers!

Dianne B.

Yelp
This place never disappoints. A full bar with great drinks! The menu is diverse and everything that we have tried is excellent! I only wish I could give this place 10 stars! Nice and quiet compared to all of the touristy places nearby.

Sydney G.

Yelp
Just went here for dinner during restaurant week and was seriously impressed. I had very low expectations going in (since I'd never actually even heard of the place before), but we were greeted warmly when we walked in the door and seated at a wide, comfortable booth complete with throw pillows and mood lighting. Our server was very friendly and answered all of our questions genuinely and thoroughly. Lily H. and I started with the Tuna Nachos (Wontons, Avocado, Wasabi and Ginger Sauces), Warm German Style Pretzels (Beer Cheese Sauce), and Bibb Lettuce "BLT" Wraps (Pork Belly, Tomatoes, Avocado, Spicy Mayo). The tuna nachos were spectacular. I don't know what they put in their ginger sauce, but it is out of this world. The pretzels were also really great. The beer cheese had some mustard seed in it, so it was really tangy... I think this place is the king of sauces. The bibb lettuce wraps were the only things that disappointed us, and that was (funnily enough) because there wasn't enough spicy mayo on them to make them taste like anything other than lettuce-wrapped bacon. For my entree, I got the Cornflake Fried Flounder (Geechie Grits, Butter Beans, Caper Hollandaise), which was equally delicious. I loved the cornflake crust and the caper hollandaise was the perfect accompaniment. The geechie grits were super thick and creamy, and the butter beans were cooked to perfection. For dessert, we split the strawberry cake and the "Bamba" chocolate cake. They were both very sweet and very rich. I think maybe I would've liked them more if I'd started the meal with dessert, but by the time dessert came, I was absolutely stuffed. I'll definitely be back here! Five well-deserved stars!

Zaida J.

Yelp
I don't typically hand out 5 stars off of one visit but everything was just perfect! Hopefully future visits will be just as good. A girl friend and I decided to check out Stack's Evening Eats during Restaurant Week. We didn't pay too much attention and ended up arriving at 5:20. We quickly realized the dinner service didn't start until 5:30! They were very gracious and seated us quickly even though we were a bit early. We loved the decor of the restaurant! I'm not one to normally notice how a restaurant was decorated but they did a beautiful job. Very warm and inviting, cool blue walls, brown & bronze accents. I just thought it was pretty and my friend agreed because we both enjoyed checking the design out. For appetizers I ordered the Seared Tuna Nachos, Sesame Wontons, Avocado, Cherry Tomatoes, Wasabi and Ginger Sauce and my friend ordered the Fresh Pulled Mozzarella, Heirloom Tomatoes, Arugula, Olive Oil, Cherry Balsamic Reduction. Yes I'm just copying and pasting off the menu!! We both agreed that both dishes were absolutely delicious and perfect but we also both preferred the tuna nachos. We try to order different things so we're able to try more options, but we both wanted the Cornflake Fried Flounder, Geechie Grits, Butter Beans, Sweet Corn Hollandaise as an entree. The flounder was perfect, the grits were delicious but I felt like the butter beans could use a bit of salt. Whoopsie! No salt or pepper shakers on the table! With eerily perfect timing, the host came by our table, mentioned that we picked his favorite dish and the best way to eat it was with a bit of everything in every bit. He was so right!!!! Boy it's amazing how eating something in a specific manner can make it seem different. There was NO need for salt and we both agreed it was very, very tasty! I would order again for sure. Mmmmm... sorry, just remembering how tasty it was. For dessert I chose the pecan pie ala mode and my friend ordered the key lime pie. My pecan pie was very rich and delicious and the ice cream was a nice balance. I will say that if I order dessert again, I'm gonna have to get the key lime pie. I've never considered myself a key lime pie kinda girl but one bite of her key lime pie and I was in love! Ok not in the right order but I totally forgot about the bread basket served with a bean spread in olive oil. My girl friend wasn't crazy about the bean spread but enjoyed the bread and olive oil well enough but I couldn't get enough of the bean spread!! It was so good I almost spoiled my appetite! And the basket came with a variety of bread products which was nice. Excellent service, excellent food, I can't wait to return!!

JOANNE W.

Yelp
Been here a while back, a few times, and suddenly remembered to go back......why did I wait so long?? This place is a hidden gem and if you haven't tried it....go! The Ahi Tuna entree, the 13 oz. pork chop to die for....go and try this place is worth the 5 star rating (which I don't give out freely) and more. Service is great, wine list notable and I'm going back. Went with 5 friends (never beens) and they all raved...

Mindy H.

Yelp
Went here during a business trip with some co workers. It would be easy to pass up this little eatery which is stuck in the middle of many stores within a strip mall setting. The inside is cosy and inviting, and the service was extremely friendly and hospitable. If I had only had the seared nachos as an appetiser, I would have gone with a 4 star, as everyone else seemed to really enjoy their food. Maybe I just chose the one weak link in the menu for my main course. The seared tuna nachos are worth coming for to enjoy as an app with a light drink, prior to heading out for a movie, or while waiting to meet up with friends for a night out on the town. Or, if you are looking to relax after a long day of shopping. The Debbie Downer for me was the steak I had with fries for my main course which was overcooked and very dry, and the fries were far from crisp, and slightly burned. Thankfully I was in the company of great coworkers and phenomenal conversation to overlook the mediocre main course. I am not sure why, but I had to try the flourless chocolate cake in order to compare with the many I have eaten elsewhere. It was definitely good, but was not a memorable stand out. In all a perfect standard 3 star, heavily influenced by the feedback I received from my coworkers (who I highly regard) regarding the quality and satisfaction with their meals.

Habenero B.

Yelp
Started with delicious and crispy Brussels sprouts. Then had a juicy burger with hand cut fries. I will be back!

Lily H.

Yelp
I went here for restaurant week with a friend of mine and we had a great experience! The atmosphere was cozy, the music being played was cool, and our server was great. On the restaurant week menu, for appetizers we ordered seared tuna nachos and pork belly lettuce wraps. The tuna nachos were awesome. Five chips with a hearty slice of tuna on each one surrounding a pile of ginger slaw and avocado drizzled with a peanut ginger sauce. That sauce was killer. The pork belly lettuce wraps were OK. There was a lot more tomato than anything else so the pork belly was kind of watered down with all the tomato flavor. The spicy mayo was really good but there was not enough of it. Being aggressive eaters, my friend and I also ordered the house made pretzels with beer cheese. The beer cheese was so good, I ended up putting some of that on the pork belly wraps to add more flavor. For entrees, I ordered the grilled salmon over house made pasta with tomatoes, zucchini, olives, and feta. The house made pasta was really good, the salmon was perfectly spiced and cooked. The sauce with vegetables made for a fresh-feeling pasta dish that I would order again. My friend got the cornflake crusted flounder over grits with butter beans and caper hollandaise and I have decided we should bread everything in cornflakes. So good! The grits were also bang on. Dessert was the only disappointing part of the evening. Maybe we were just too full? (Most definitely, but moving on) We ordered the strawberry cake and the chocolate cake. The strawberry cake had a great flavor but the icing was really sweet and overwhelmed the cake. My friend didn't like the dense, spongy texture of the cake but I didn't mind it. The chocolate cake was very moist, almost like a warm fudge, with ice cream. It reminded me of the melting cakes you get on a cruise, which there is nothing wrong with, but I was just expecting something more unique. Anyway, I would totally try this place again! Overall, I had a great experience.

Chesta A.

Yelp
I loved it. I got the best steak that I've had in a really long time. My husband ordered the ahi tuna, though it was a bit of a small portion, he liked what was there. We each got our favorite meal. His portion size did mean we got a lovely bread pudding desert. The restaurant is pleasant and attractive offering tables and booths. We are going back tonight.

Sharon P.

Yelp
Enjoyed a lovely meal at Stack's last night. Our foursome enjoyed fabulous starters - tuna nachos and calamari. For our mains we loved the cornmeal crusted flounder with grits and butter beans and strip steaks special with truffle mashed potatoes and delicious brussel sprouts. Our high backed booth allowed us to be properly separated from other diners. Owner greeted us and staff were masked and provided friendly service. We will be back!

Vickie E.

Yelp
Food was outstanding! We've been vacationing in Charleston for 5 days. This was the best meal we've had. Our server Ally was friendly and provided excellent service. I would definitely recommend.

Annalyle A.

Yelp
Can you say YUMMY!! Food and service were first class all the way! Oysters on the half shell, ahi tuna nachos, hand made fettuccine, shrimp and grilled salmon. Cannot wait to go back. If you haven't had Stacks you're missing out!! Thank you!!

Paul S.

Yelp
Hidden gem in Mt. Pleasant. It's our Cheers equivalent! Kathy and Winston rock the bar as well as Allie! Great food and local vibe.

Megan F.

Yelp
Cute little sandwich shop! Perfect for a lunch with friends . The staff is super nice and the sandwiches are amazing

BradandJan B.

Yelp
I had take out from stacks 6/10/2020 and as always food was good. I'm disappointed and wont return due to their lack of good virus protection practices. The employees did not wear masks, the people sat next to each other at the bar and no social distancing, while SC virus numbers continue to go through the roof. I'm very disappointed with them because many other restaurants, Burtons Grille/5 loaves, etc all have employees in masks and gloves..............sorry but won't be back

Mark F.

Yelp
One of the best places in Mt Pleasant to eat. Food and service are always amazing. Lunch time the Portabella sandwich is the way to go...but always check out the specials...the chef just gets it.!

Steven P.

Yelp
Stack's Evening Eats had only been open for a couple weeks when we made our first visit, in early September. We were quite impressed and decided to come back for a follow-up visit. We are very happy we did. Once again, we were greeted at the door and seated in one of the oversized but comfortable booths, across from the bar. Service was friendly and attentive. The decor is classy eclectic in a way that gives the wandering eye plenty to delight upon, without screaming for attention. Fresh bread was served with a modest, but appealing, butter bean & olive oil paste -- perfect for balancing the palate. We sampled each of the evening's soup selections: tomato basil and clam corn chowder. Both were very good. Our main courses consisted of a (1) green salad with shredded duck, bleu cheese crumbles, and tarragon dressing; (2) fettucini with pulled duck, pancetta, mushrooms, and zucchini; and (3) grilled salmon over cauliflower and vegetale ragout. Everything was delicious. The generous salmon filet was a particular standout. Despite my dinner companion's preference for medium-well (aka "ruined" IMHO), the chef managed to prepare the salmon so that it was completely cooked, yet remained exceptionally moist and flavorful. For dessert, we reprised one dish from the previous visit: a slice of chocolate torte with a caramel drizzle, and a small handful of pretzels and caramel corn sprinkled across the plate. It is delightful! In addition, we tried a slice of their pecan pie. I am a fan of pecan pie, but rarely get through a single piece before feeling my throat constricting from the overwhelming syrupy richness. That was not the case at Stack's! The difference could be seen before the plate was even set at our table. The pecan chunks covering the pie were enormous. The gooey filling did provide a mellow sweetness, but bite after bite, the pie stayed true to its name, with the flavor focused clearly on the pecans. I think, perhaps, this is how pecan pie is supposed to be made.

Yelp
This was my second time to this restaurant. Let me just say the food is excellent. However, last night we had a very unpleasant time as this restaurant struggles to get food out if the crowd approaches 30. After waiting over an hour for our entree we asked the female (extremely short haired surly bartender) where our food was. She immediately became extremely condescending and launched into "bartendersplaining" how everyone had had to wait an excessive amount of time for their food. As you can imagine by that point we had not expected a lecture from the bartendress. The rest of the staff has always been very nice there...and thankfully a manager took charge and comped our wine. In short if you walk in and the female bartender has hair as short as Peter Pan....turn around an walk out!
