Restaurants Defy Indoor Dining Shutdowns to Survive Winter Season | Eater

"Owners of a Lockport, Illinois restaurant wrote on Facebook that their decision to remain open during indoor-dining shutdowns is driven by survival rather than rebellion or opposition to masks or public health. They say they are willing to risk fines, citations, and enforced closures to avoid further business losses. Reported by Eater Chicago amid wider coverage of restaurants defying restrictions, their stance underscores the fraught tradeoff between economic survival and the documented health risks of indoor dining to customers and, especially, employees." - Jenny G. Illinois Restaurant Sues Pritzker Over COVID-19 Indoor Service Ban | Eater Chicago

"A Will County tavern announced on social media that its decision to continue indoor service is about survival, insisting it is not an anti-mask or anti-health stance; the proprietors framed the move as necessary to keep the business afloat amid shifting regulations and the governor’s ban." - Naomi Waxman

Sam and Cora were awesome! Cora suggested the Bruschetta and it was amazing. My wife’s crispy chicken sandwich was out of this world! Can’t wait to come back!!

This is a message for the owners or management who I really hope sees this! We used to come here all the time - great place to grab a bite and some drinks. I am sad to say that we don’t dine-in anymore due to changes in the lighting!! This place has such a cute vibe and was rocking it before with the warm lighting lantern feel. Now- bright white offensive lighting - IT NEEDS TO GO!!! Please, please, please!!! Change your lighting back to the warm bulbs so I can come back and not feel like I’m in a hospital !! If you change the bulbs back, I will JOYFULLY bump up my review of this great establishment :) Please!!! Such a cute place - lightbulbs are an easy fix and it would make all the difference !!

A very unique experience inside of a very historic building! The theme plays perfectly based on the history of this area and the surrounding buildings. The food is very good, the drinks are creative, and the atmosphere is incredible! If you go, be sure to sit at one of the booth in the back!

Food is actually decent, but gave it 2 stars because this place is downright dirty. Appetizer plates were greasy and one had a chunk of what looked like salami on it. We used napkins instead of the plates. There were gnats flying around while we were eating. Bathroom smelled like raw sewage. The sinks were gross and looked like they hadn't been cleaned in months. And they had one of those "blade" type of hand dryers. The grossness at the bottom was flat out disgusting. Those things blow that back up and that dryer had to be one of the most disgusting hand dryers I've ever seen. Been going here for years but won't be back. Just too gross for me.

I found this place a few years ago and fell in love with the ambience. The menu includes normal fare plus "the wild side" eg, elk, bison, venison. Note that they used to have an old stagecoach in the back room and swapped it out for slots (boo!), but hey, gambling equals revenue - and every local biz must make ends meet. I come here for the unique menu and service - I always come away happy. During warm weather, there's outdoor seating out front.

What a great place. The decor was very well done with an old time western theme. The food was very good with some unique items on the menu. I had a bison burger which was great and my side was corn bread casserole which was so good it is worth going just for that. On Mondays they have martini specials and I'll say the dirty martini was outstanding and the olive was stuffed with real blue cheese. Overall great place can't wait to go back. This place is always amazing. Bucket beer specials on Mondays.

Went there for a small holiday get-together, food and service were great. Weekend...If you just want dinner, I would go there early. If you stay after 930 p.m., the dining area is converted to a dance floor, and the restaurant converts to a dance party with a DJ. Great time with friends

Found this place while searching Google maps for a place to meet up with some family while I was in town. I am glad I found it! Fun place with great atmosphere, cool decor and awesome food! I had the venison back strap, my lady had the elk au jus. Both were cooked perfectly, very flavorful and the au jus came on the side with the elk. Mixed vegetables on both plates were really good!!! Had a fried onion blossom for an appetizer and it wasn't all oily feeling like alot of other places. HUGE selection of drinks, beer and shots. (It is a saloon mind you) I had an Old fashioned that was pretty good. We were able to sit at a booth where they serve your food through the wall which was pretty awesome. Only 2 small nit picks really, it is somewhat small inside so if you go with a large group sitting together might be a challenge. There are only 2 booths that do the serving through the wall. Overall it is a very cool place and we loved the old saloon decor and vibe inside. We definitely recommend trying them out and we will definitely come back again next time we are in town!
