"If you're a child of the '90s, you'll recognize this house and some of the roads as Hallie's Dad's house from the The Parent Trap. Nostalgia aside, this estate offers beautiful grounds and exceptional wines. The Staglin Family are also well known philanthropists—since opening the vineyard, they've raised and donated more than $800 million for mental health research. "

We enjoyed a fantastic afternoon at Staglin! Definitely recommend reservations in advance as they only seat six private tastings per day. We brought our toddler and it was no problem. Geordy was extremely personable and struck a great balance between keeping the tasting casual / comfortable to ask anything while dishing out a ton of knowledge on the vineyard and Napa generally. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and it’s easy to see why this was a perfect location for all the vineyard scenes in Disney’s ‘The Parent Trap.’ We even bumped into the owners, Shari and Garen, while touring the wine caves and they could not have been more gracious. We look forward to coming back!

A must-visit in Napa Valley! David was warm, knowledgeable, and very accommodating. We loved learning about the Staglin family, the history of the land, and winemaking nuances. It was equally nice meeting Shari and Garen who are doing such important work with One Mind. Thank you, David so much for a wonderful experience!

Exceptional experience! Staglin Family Winery in Napa exceeded all expectations. From the moment we stepped onto the picturesque estate, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality by David. The wines were nothing short of spectacular, each sip a journey through the region's terroir and the family's dedication to quality. The tasting room ambiance was inviting, especially with how knowledgeable David was as he guided us through the tasting with grace and expertise. The attention to detail in every aspect of our visit, from the immaculate grounds to the elegant presentation of each pour, truly showcased the Staglin family's commitment to excellence. A must-visit for any wine enthusiast seeking an unforgettable Napa Valley experience. Five stars without hesitation! Thank you, and we will be back!! Cannot wait for our wine to arrive at our NY home (:

Google
I've been to Staglin three times and it is truly one of the special properties and families in Napa Valley. Everything there is top notch, including of course the wines. They have a lot on their plate and a small team, so plan your visit there as far in advance as possible!

Incredible winery. Artie is the ultimate host and has an impressive knowledge of both winemaking and the Staglin vineyard. If you want an introduction to truly top tier wine, do what you can to stop here!

Google
An absolutely top-tier vineyard/experience. Jaime was an amazing host that provided us with unique insights on the wine/property and families philanthropic endeavors. A truly amazing variety of wines and people with an even better purpose.

Google
This was the highlight of our trip to Napa. It’s a prestigious Vineyard which produces high quality wine. We had a tour by Jamie who was friendly, knowledgable and super helpful. They don’t do many tours so it can be challenging to get in, therefore I’d advise booking well in advance. We had a wine tasting at the end of the tour.

Very rare luxury supper! If you ever have the opportunity to do a Staglin wine diner I recommend you grab with both hands, if that diner happens to be at the Esperanza in Cabo you should rearrange everything in your diary to be there! Incredible food, amazing wine and one of the finest settings you could hope for, special shout out for Amber (Staglin) and Cristian (Esperanza som) both true experts with a love and passion for wine and food! Can’t rate the evening highly enough!!

Yelp
If Yelp would allow me to give more than 5 stars, I would!!! David Kasper was an incredible host. This was hands down my favorite winery in Napa/Sonoma and the favorite winery of the four friends I traveled with. The experience felt personal since David was able to adapt the tour to our interests, and he also gave us local recommendations and helped us learn about the different wine regions across California. We were the only folks he gave a tour to, and I did not see any other visitors around, so I really appreciate the intimate experience and that it did not feel "commercial." Definitely book in advance (I first tried to come here three years ago and we were unable to since they already filled all their openings). The grounds are beautiful and paved with a bit of elevation fluctuation, and I had no trouble walking around in short, skinny heeled shoes. I also loved the references to The Parent Trap movie with Lindsay Lohan (although note that the house featured in the movie is the private residence and not where your wine tasting will take place). After our guided tour, we were led back indoors to try a sampling of wine. The wines were all incredible and so smooth, especially the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon, and I love that proceeds from their Salus wine go to their non-profit organization ONE MIND, which supports mental health initiatives. We also all loved the accompaniments, particularly the cheese and almonds. I also personally loved the glassware they used from Gabriel Glas (the stems were so thin!). Again, highly highly recommend visiting Staglin if you are in Napa, but make a reservation in advance!

Yelp
We had a wonderful experience at Staglin Family Vineyard in Sonoma County this Fall. The wines, across the board, were quite delicious. The price point is high, but not without merit. The staff were very knowledgeable and we enjoyed the experience to discuss the nuances of the wine business...and this historic location. If you can arrange a tasting opportunity, I recommend it!!

Yelp
I was first introduced to Staglin Winery around 2004 and have been a wine club member here off and on ever since. This is definitely one of those premium-level wineries well worth the cost due to their consistency with the wines they produce. Luckily, this place is still family-owned with a small staff so, yes, appointments are always required but I've had several tastings with several staff members over the years and have attended some of their release parties and I have always been treated like gold. This is a top notch place and can't imagine anyone being disappointed with an experience here.

Yelp
********************* 1495 ********************** Founded in 1985, Staglin Family Vineyard takes pride in the tradition of family ownership and participation. With an uncompromising commitment to quality, they produce world-class wines that reflect the distinctive character of this historic Rutherford Bench estate. They farm the vineyard organically, tap in to their solar fields for power and produce the wines in a state of the art underground production facility. Staglin Family Vineyard opens by appointment only, I was lucky to score a visit. Greeted nicely by Bryan Lipa, with a glass of estate Chardonnay. He told me everything about the family, the winery, and walked me through every wine and a few vintage they produced. He guided me through the vineyards, and we got to sit outside to taste the remaining wines. It was such a beautiful day, delicious wines, and breathtaking view of the vineyard in the Fall. - Staglin Family Estate Chardonnay 2014 - Staglin Family Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2012 - Staglin Booth Bella Oaks Cabernet Sauvignon 2012 - Stagliano Estate Sangiovese 2013 Just a few wines that I've tried and truly enjoyed, price range from $50-$280 per bottle. If you are a wine collector and lover old world style wines, you got to visit Staglin Family Vineyard. With only fifty-one acres of vines, all their wines are on the estate, limited production and allocation. The wine is beautiful and easily cellaring for years to come.

Yelp
Staglin wines are one of my favorites. It's not sold in stores in Hawaii, so you will have to be part of their club. The tour is private and is less than two hours. I really enjoyed the tour and the history. We even got to chat with Mr. Staglin himself. I caught him drinking a Diet Coke (I guess he doesn't drink his wine early in the morning). It's really neat to go inside the cave and check out the bottling process. The cave smelled so good. I think it was the mixture of barrels and wine in our hand. While we toured we received a glass of wine while walking around the property. Strengths: - Friendly staff - Views are really nice - History - Beautiful landscape - Cave Weaknesses: - Bees! I recommend making not driving because you will get tipsy, so hire a limo driver.

Yelp
Date: April 12, 2007 Winery: Staglin Family Vineyards Winemaker: Luc Morlet Tasting: Tasting by Appointment Contact: 707.944.0477 Second visit to this property, located in Rutherford, west of Hwy 29 off Bella Oaks Lane. The tour/tasting appointment here will last about 60-90 minutes, depending on the group dynamic. Standard cave tour and sit-down tasting. 2005 Salus Chardonnay Standard, typical California Chardonnay. Oak bomb with some fruit. 2004 Salus Cabernet Sauvignon Made up of primary younger vines from the esate vineyard. Large amount of dried fruit aromatics, think those you can buy from Trader Joe's, raspberries, strawberries, etc. Just a bit too ripe for my taste, one dimensional with lots of cherries. Does not have depth and complexity, especially coming back to the wine after tasting the 2003 Staglin Estate. 2003 Estate Cabernet Sauvignon Darker color, much deeper aromatic. Pencil shaving and dark fruits. Meaty, smoky, good weight. Firm tannin, good structure and depth. Solid wine.

Yelp
If you are looking for a incredible wine tour, don't take your business elsewhere, Our wine guide Jaime was the best I've ever had. The experience that my group of 5 experienced with Jaime was nothing short of extraordinary. The property of the winery had absolutely breathtaking views. He was not only informative about the wine process and the history of staglins grounds, but he was just a spectacular person in his own right. By the time we left the vineyard , hugs were exchanged and new friends were made.

Yelp
Recently visited Staglin for a private tour and tasting with my husband and my parents during our Napa vacation. The entire experience was intimate and extremely friendly. Our tasting was served on their patio, which overlooks the vineyard and the rest of the valley. Wines were a standout among the rest of our winery tours that week and we were pleased and impressed to hear their dedication to brain disease and their contributions to research and raising awareness. It was inspiring to hear of a Napa vineyard that is so consistently devoted to a worthy cause. In fact, proceeds from their Salus label wine series are donated in support of brain health (I'm assuming that the name was inspired by the Latin to English translation of Salus... which means health or safety but I could be wrong). We did purchase quite a few wines and they were kind enough to waive our tasting fees, which we did not expect. I really hope that we can visit with them again. It was the absolute highlight of our vacation!

Yelp
My family and I planned a trip to Napa and this was at the top of my Brother In Law's list to visit. 1st the positives: When you drive up, the winery is impressive and beautiful The winery owner stopped by during our "tour" (more on the tour later) and she was very nice and spent some time talking to the group The wine maker was nice and also spent some time speaking with the group 2nd the negatives: Our tour guide, Kaia came off a bit rude and many in the group found her pretentious and condescending The tour was not much of a tour. You walk through a very small grape grove and then they basically just show you the caves and wine barrels in the caves. At the price point of the wine, we all expected spectacular but really we felt it fell flat. The pours were very small, which is fine by us but not for what they were charging We were15 minutes late because we underestimated the time it would take to get there and we called ahead to let them know and again apologized when we arrived. Kaia seemed very accommodating when we arrived but from there it just went downhill. My BIL, purchased a wine box with 3 bottles of wine for $650 (to store in his library) and had to pay for wine tastings 7 people. We were supposed to have a total of 8 but at the last minute, they were sick and unable to come. As he was paying for the bottles when one of the staff was making a huge deal out of the no show and said they were going to charge him. He couldn't believe it since our party's bill was over $1000. He fought them on it as he was buying some wine and was intending on paying all of the wine that was tasted. After giving him grief, they said they would not charge him. Unfortunately, they don't process the charges while you are there so we are waiting to confirm what he was charged for. My husband and I paid for our own tasting with the belief that it was $60 each and we cringed about that because we felt our experience was not worth that. I got a bill yesterday from the winery stating it was $60 + tax each. I thought that was insane since I don't know of any winery that doesn't already include the tax in their tasting fee. We are very familiar with Napa Valley as we visit 2x-4x per year. I emailed Becky about it and got what I thought was a sassy response. I then emailed her back letting her know that I would not have even questioned it had our party not had such a poor experience at their winery. Guess what, haven't heard back from her either. I am writing this review in hopes that the winery owner and wine maker and anyone from the winery will see what a bad experience we had and try to improve their tour / tasting and make it more available to more people. Overall, our family felt this was not worth our time and our money and at this time, would never return and would not recommend anyone go there. BTW...the tour and tasting is now $75pp and I'm sure that doesn't include the tax. I would say, SAVE your money!

Yelp
Watch out for Staglin's sneaky business practices! My friend set up a complimentary tasting at Staglin for three of us. Upon leaving I purchased a bottle of wine on my credit card. But several weeks later Staglin sent an invoice that showed the wine purchase but also included a $50 tasting fee. They charged my credit card and don't return calls to discuss the matter.

Yelp
Staglin--- as good as it gets. The experience is fantastic and the wines are exceptional. From entry to exit, you will love your experience at Staglin. It is one of the more expensive tasting experiences in wine country...but I thought it was worth every dollar. I left with a wine club membership and a few extra bottles--I would definitely recommend it. For everyone who complains--and mentions in passing they were late--you disrupt any winery's operations being late. Don't complain when they treat you as if you did. Do you show up 15 minutes late to your doctor's appointments and expect to be treated special?

Yelp
After some miscommunication with our hotel concierge (booked us at the wrong property with similar name) Lindsey was kind enough to welcome us to Staglin, tell us about the property and poured us a glass of their estate wine. The winery was actually closed for the day but she made sure to go out of her way to make us feel right at home until our ride came back to pick us up. I can't say enough about how great she was to us and we look forward to coming back soon for a proper reserved tasting! Thank you Lindsey and Staglin family vineyards! The hospitality was above and beyond!

Yelp
This is an amazing vineyard with friendly staff and good samples. I really enjoyed the tour of the vineyard along with seeing the creativity of the different types of grapes/varietals grown. The tour of the wine barrels was cool as well. What can I say? Napa is a magical place with magical people and magical wine. I only wish I could go abck sooner.

Yelp
Received exceptional service last spring from Greg Gregory. We are big wine buyers and have the top level of club membership and have loved Staglin in the past. President Sherry has reached out with Staglin style hospitality...

Yelp
You pay for what you get - pricer than other wineries, but the wines are excellent, full-bodied and rich. Family owned and run, committed to the environment. Great tasting experience. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Off putting. Tried recently to secure a tour/tasting for 3 people 30 days out. Sent email with request: * response email asked "why" I wanted to tour Staglin? Surprised, I replied that I lived in Napa, owned a very small winery, and liked to take guests to local top wineries. My daughter would be visiting from LA. She loves high end Napa wines. Staglin would be fun for her. * 4 day delay in response. Could not be accommodated. * email response said the winery was certainly open on the day of my request for my purchase of wines. I was most welcome for those purchases. But, no room for a tour/tasting. * total turnoff. Staglin projected like a condescending, inefficient operation seeking my money with no interest in hospitality. Shocking really as I respect the Staglin family for the quality of their wines and their support for mental health research and causes in the area. Unfortunately, Staglin's guest services are delivering poor service in a consumer unfriendly style. Too bad.
