Stake Out Bar & Grill

This is a great little family owned bar, no corporations. The bartenders are all very friendly and the kitchen staff is amazing. Go for lunch or dinner the pizzas are made from scratch. The sandwiches are amazing. You won’t be disappointed at this bar. If you look at reviews from a few months ago, it was a different kitchen staff. Their head chef Char has this place functioning right now.

Fun little hole in the wall, friendly staff, I was there for the stand-up comedy. Would recommend.

Love this little bar of (ours)! Did some work next to campus and Amanda and Char were delightful. The food is great and it was exactly what I needed at the time. I’ve lived in Vegas over 9 years and always forget to go here! I’ll be back soon!

This place is awesome! The food is seriously so good, and the whole vibe just makes you want to hang out and stay a while. The staff is super friendly and make you feel right at home. If you’re looking for a chill spot with great food and even better people, definitely stop by. You’ll have a great time!

3/15/24 I really needed to get out of the house and have a nice night relaxing. My husband and I decided to try a new place and we kinda randomly chose one not too far from home. We arrived at Happy Hour and Michael was our bartender and waiter as we chose to sit in a both. He immediately greeted us with a friendly smile and helped us get some great happy hour drinks... Which we loved! We ordered a burger and onion rings, and the full slab of ribs with Cole slaw and Potato salad. Everything was so good and all for $50. What a deal! Glad we stumbled upon this spot! If you want to gamble, they have video poker, they have open mike night, and a comedy night! We can't wait to return!

Cool spot. Nice people working here. College bar near the UNLV campus. We came for a party. It was fun. We will come back.

I've been here a few times for live music upstairs. The food is decent, and the drinks are good if you can get the bartenders attention. My friend and I were sitting next to each other. Long story short, my friend ordered a drink and I asked to cash out. Bartender gave my friend his drink and then he went outside for a while. When he came back, I grabbed his attention to cash out again. He had charged my friends drink on my tab. I took my card upstairs but this Bartender wouldn't open up a tab. She said I had to bring the card every time I ordered anything. The bar is set up nice and the atmosphere is nice.

A great pub and grill that is open 24 hours. I needed something to eat, early in the morning. I wasn’t far away and decided to stop in. I’m glad I did. I was met just I said e the door by the bartender, Rob. Super friendly and helpful. I sat down at a booth and had the teriyaki burger. It was really good. I was actually impressed with how they operate. I would eat here again!

Food only review: you don't come to a place like this expecting ambiance and good service. The wings were greasy, and SO SMALL. The steak sandwich was a cheap cut of beef slapped on some bread. Almost inedible, so much fat and grisel. The pizza was nice sized, nothing else good to say. The veggies on top were raw, some of the meat on it was also inedible. I had to spit out every piece of whatever pork they put on it. Do not come here for the food!

We had lots of fun with yummy Philly Cheesesteak sandwiches and drinks The bartenders were very efficient and friendly. We really enjoyed the jukebox to play our favorite tunes. We also enjoyed the upstairs for the reception that we attended.

Stopped by this place cause my fiancé and I had a little bit of time in between our busy schedule on Sunday (11/08/24). We wanted to watch the 49ers game and get some lunch. Our server was very attentive and knowledgeable when it came to the menu. We ordered a large pepperoni pizza, fried zucchini and spicy mac and cheese tots. The food came out super hot and each bite was delicious. I would definitely recommend this place if you are ever in the area!

Mike makes the best ginger ale and that's why I come every Thursday for the open mic!

Amazing bar!!! One of the last truly local bars! This place makes you feel like you're in a cheers episode. Thursday nights they have open mic comedy, and Mondays they have open mic music. Gravy and Mikey are AMAZING behind the bar. Jenell, the manager is a doll! They also have an upstairs room that is great to host parties. One of the last places in Vegas you can do a shot with the bartender. Can't say enough good about this place

I saw multiple reviews here praising the ribs here, so I thought I'd give them a shot. The rack comes fully intact, so you have to cut into them to separate each rib. Upon first glance, the outside was slightly charred, but noticed overall there was a rubbery/bouncy texture and feeling to the meat which struck me as odd. Cutting into the meat was very difficult. I finished one half of my order and started to cut into the other half of the ribs. This is when I noticed it was extremely tough to cut in to. When I finally got them apart and looked at the meat in the middle, it appeared to be raw. If the ribs were just slightly undercooked or simply bad tasting, I would not be writing this review. However, these looked to be extremely rare and - lo and behold - now I am sick. What makes matters more frustrating is now it's a long Labor Day weekend, so medical services and opening hours are not as accessible. I am now experiencing symptoms of food poisoning and extremely fatigued. This is the single worst food experience I've had in Vegas and in the past decade. Unless their attention and method to cooking their ribs are significantly changed, I would highly recommend NOT ordering their ribs.

Service and ambience is terrible. Service was rude. Look for any other bar you can find.

Not the steak out I know! Fries were cold and not cooked. Definitely not the spot for before and after the UNLV baseball games.

Server was polite but went for Bills game they had no food , Smokey in bar , and four or five people there the $20 in the machine lasted about 15 minutes plus she charged me for the drink.

I looked at the reviews, so we went to see why most have 5 stars but most are months old. Now I know why, most have new management, because the service was terrible and the food was not that great. No more visits from us, better bars in Las Vegas NV.

Good was good, drinks are VERY reasonable, machines are loose and allows a lot of play but most of ALL... bartenders are attentive, friendly and easy on the eyes.

Now that they have food again I'm giving them 5 stars. The time where they didn't have food was a sad time. This place actually has really good bar food and I think it's the very last fairly priced bar in Las Vegas. I do miss the homemade salsa they used to make because their chips and salsa were the BEST. And I promised friends I'd ask in this review if you could bring back the loaded tots too haha. But the new menu has little pizzas on it and they're good. I wish they would connect more with the unlv community because I'm always surprised at the lack of students there. Unlv has a very non traditional student body. Lots of 21+ students actually. Every time I take people with me to Stake Out they always comment that they had no idea it was there and it's literally across the street!!! And its got the best happy hour in vegas. No really...The best happy hour in vegas. And after the loss of crown and anchor this is one of the last original bars in the area. The bartenders are really nice too. It might seem like a little bit of a gloomy atmosphere when you walk in but trust me it's not. Everyone there is really friendly.

Tried this place for UFC night and will definitely be back! Loved the Philly cheesesteak, wings, and the fried oreo sundae is to die for. Great service, reasonable prices, fun bar vibe.

What a wonderful place. Everyone is so friendly, the drinks are good and reasonably priced and the food is yummy. There is plenty of parking and the restrooms are clean. Thank you to everyone at Stake Out for a wonderful evening.

This is an amazing little place to go. The bartenders are all amazing, especially Jason and Mike. The cook Rory is amazing! Whatever he cooks is very flavorful. He knows how to please. Go to this bar and you won't be disappointed

My husband and I have been coming here for years, and we were so glad to meet Thomas Boley, one of the owners. He showed us how he remodeled the second floor, with a meeting/party room, which was very spacious and could be set up for a variety of occasions. He put additional lighting on the first floor, and recovered the booths. The whole place has been refreshed. By the way, the burgers, chicken fingers, Philly cheese steak and Buffalo fries, as well as the hand-battered onion rings were delicious! We're already looking forward to our next visit!

Had the NY steak sandwich (medium rare). The meat was perfectly cooked and the sandwich was downright perfect. Honestly, the best steak sandwich I've had in a while for a very reasonable price! My wife had a grilled chicken sandwich which she said was delicious as well. We both got the coleslaw which tasted fresh and very well balanced. It's hard to get coleslaw just right. Honestly, I was surprised to see the place relatively empty on a Friday night considering the great food and quick service. They have awesome beer on tap, great food, and great prices. Highly recommended!

i was there at 11pm to 1.30 pm @july 23 2023. Mike, the bartender throw few F words at me as I wanted to know if I can pay by credit card. a customer, onky 1 out of 3_persons supported Mike's assertion. the bartender continued to fire F bombs at me and also continued to complaint that i am disgreeing w 'female customer'. The facts should be on tape if there is a live camera. i have many choices so Stake out wilo be my last choice to spend ny Money and spend my money. Time fo checking tape for recording... 12.30 am to 2 am July 19 2023. the bartender Mke or whatever.. u have records...should NEVER work in bartending work.!!jJj

Great neighborhood bar with great food. Highly recommend the Buffalo Chicken Fries/Tots. Always friendly staff and bartenders. And the upstairs is a great place for private events and/or parties.

Like some others here have stated. Don't trust prices and details on the menu. They're not accurate and they won't respect it.

If you are done Dancing or gambling in Vegas but want to keep the party going, this is a good place to refuel with good food, drinks & vibe. It's open 24/7 & the staff is super friendly. We didn't get here til like 6am & still got excellent full Service!!! Highly recommend to all you late nighter!

So I ordered 3 chicken phillys one with only onions (extra please ) and two with peppers onions and mushrooms (extra please) we'll all them came with LOTS peppers mushrooms and onions plus a 6oz container of my extra veggies which would have been cool but they were raw covered in oil.... Not sure where the extra $10 is from I know the taxes aren't that high and if it's for those unnecessary extra raw veggies well that's just ridiculous! Such a simple order and so much extra money and the girl who took the order had NO clue as to what the additional charge she added was for .... Wish I could leave NO STAR UCK!!!!

This is a place I've loved to come for years. The chicken Philly is my favorite dish and check out their potato salad. Great that it's right across from UNLV too!

A wonderful place that hosted our 759th/984th military Police 32 year Desert Storm reunion. The food was excellent and the drinks flowed. The staff did an excellent job of making sure we were taking care of even while short staffed. Thank you for a great time and memory.

Great open atmosphere, awesome food and bartenders. Dope space for karaoke upstairs. Tabby is hands down the best! Go see her.

I've been coming here before UNLV basketball games for 20 years. Good bar food, cold beer, Rebs fans (some years more than others) - all in all, a great place to pregame. But tonight they had heavy metal/hard rock blasting the whole time we were there. Hard to think, let alone talk. I have never experienced that here before. It was deafening and almost unbearable. Cater to the crowd, folks. I'll try it again next game, but I will find somewhere else to pregame if that's the new standard music selection. Food and beer were good.

Been here to gamble several times, I literally live a few blocks away. Always had a good time until this afternoon when a new bartender who said she started working there 3 months ago was completely rude to me the whole time I was there. She had three friends of hers at the end of the bar that I would bet was getting free drinks who when first sat down were extremely loud talking about beating people up and breaking arms and legs ‍ negative energy I don't want to be around when gambling so I got up and moved across the bar and that's when I had to deal with her bad attitude. The other bartender that is usually there and I've seen and spoke to several times is super sweet. Wish she had been there this afternoon. Guess I'll go to PTs a block away next time

Good food, attentive and friendly staff, and cheap drink prices is what makes this my new go to spot. With food, you must try their BBQ ribs! That sauce and fall off the bone rack of ribs is tits! They have pool tables right up the stairs and a nice cool spot to lounge out. I've been here twice and both times I kept saying "this bar is chill," and if that's what you're looking for then this is it.

I can't for the life of me figure out why this place has 4 stars. Initially I saw some outlying reviews about the texture of a phillycheese steak and crunchy chicken fingers, but that seemed to be the end of the negative reviews with the exception of the ambience of this dingy hole of an establishment. However, throughout my experience here on a Wednesday afternoon I can't seem to figure how it took them 30 minutes with only 3 other patrons in the bar to take our food and drink order, we had to flag her down in which the server replied, "oh, I thought I already took your order." We did receive our drinks quickly, but noticed that our food sat in the window for 7 minutes before we had to flag her down again and ask if our food was ready. In which we had been here for an hour and 15 minutes before we actually got food down in front of us. The food and service isn't decent enough for me to return here. Their bland and soggy fries don't entirely entice most patrons unless you're down for that kind of thing. We spend most of our meal debating whether or not our chicken was undercooked because of the pink lights. My friend Kim would like to add that "the wing sauce was not bad... I've tasted worse." We are honestly extremely confused at how this establishment has 4 stars as it appears like this is a normal for this place. Unless you are sitting at a bar stool, all dining customers are ignored. On a plus side, I like the music. Happy Eating.

Terrible service. Tried to order food and the guy Mike said the kitchen was closed but we had already paid for the food. He wouldn't even let us in to talk to him and when we called he was a dick. Won't ever come close to trying to order from here again.

While visiting my family in Las Vegas I decided to stop by this place. Great atmosphere, the food was delicious and the drinks strong. I played a game of pool with the locals which were awesome. To bad I don't live in the area, this would definitely be my go to place. Till next time stake out

One of my favorite local places. Always a great spot for a really nice conversation! Food was alright :) and the staff are always super friendly. I notice they get a lot of harassment from customers though? Could be cleaner.

This place is great. I had been coming here for years when I lived in the area but since the new owners have taken it over it has gotten even better. And the new food menu is awesome. I recommend this place highly.

I tried this place since I saw it on tv with Guy fiere. Played pool and had super yummy grilled cheese wwith fries. Hubby had a Philly cheesesteak and it was delicious as well.

Stake out review This place is under new ownership, and it's not a particularly customer friendly one. At least not from the point of view of this neighbor and regular. I used to order take out here all the time. Because of too many no shows they started requiring credit cards over the phone first. A bit annoying, but maybe understandable. Now, new owners aren't taking carry out orders over the phone at all. You have to come in, order, and wait. And the wait isn't as short as promised over the phone. Even though the place was virtually empty. Funny, it never used to be empty. Have these new owners run off everybody, including all their regulars? Is the food at least as good? I'm not sure. Basically ok, but maybe a bit drier. I'm not giving up on my neighborhood favorite just yet, but I'm watching, skeptically.

I've stopped by this place a couple times within the last few months. The first visit I ordered a Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich with fries. Since then, I've done the same thing every time only switching to chicken Philly half the time. Neither have let me down. This place is consistently good each time I visit. The bartenders are always friendly, and the service is up to par.

I ordered a grilled chicken salad here to go once and it was alright. Tried this place again on a weds night to get dinner (around 10) and we sat down- ordered waters and then decided what we wanted to order. We waited for a good 20 min (there was NO ONE else in the restaurant besides a few randoms at the bar) -- she went to go clean tables, dropped off a few menus, made drinks for people that had walked in way way after us, counted money, etc etc. so we left. Without our order ever being taken

This place is pretty good. The fish and chips is amazing and my husband said his philly was the best he's ever had here in Vegas. Will definitely be back. The service was great as well.
