Stallen

Oh wow, another wonderful evening of indulgence that we were lucky enough to enjoy in Oslo, this time at Stallen by Sebastian Myhre. Set beautifully in an old stable building, the kitchen team treated us to fantastic creations bursting with incredible flavour and comforting warmth. Accompanied by wonderful drinks (homemade non-alcoholic options and a ‘Sommelier’s Choice’ wine pairing) and such delightful, cheerful service, this extraordinary evening of indulgence was made complete

Overall a great food place. One or two dishes that missed the mark for me. Only issue was the service which was a bit slow (limited by their tiny kitchen likely). Regardless, was told to expect 3 hours for a meal, ended up being 4 hours due to issue with dish pacing. Noticed some other guests being a bit antsy as well.

We came here 2 years ago in 2024 and it was one of our Oslo trip highlights. The setting was intimate, the service polite and we enjoyed the uniqueness of the local produce.

Second visit and still a really great one. The food and service is excellent with super tasty dishes. The food is local Norwegian and uses what is season now.

Great food experience. Loved the interiors and atmosphere. Elegant yet relaxing. Amazing that Oslo has developed into a city with these kind of gourmet experiences. Hard to pick best part of the meal but king crab, scallop and bread of fermented potatoes were home runs. Also the palate cleanser of apple pine shoot and mint was amazing. Wine pairing was ok but not spectacular. I feel this is a trend amongst Michelin star restaurants. In particular the red wine (Nebbiolo ?? Can’t remember exactly) was a poor choice. Too acidic and tasted kind of flat. This is not the first time to experience this, so not just this restaurant. Could be much more traditional vs trying to be overly creative. Whites and sparkling were very good though!!

An amazing dining experience with a varied tasting menu of excellent seasonal ingredients. Highlights were the pan-fried scallop in brown butter sauce and the "breakfast" dessert.

Incredible experience here at Stallen- staff were amazing, unbelievable service all night. Food was delicious, presentation fabulous, and the staff were on hand to explain everything in detail. I went for the wine pairing option, and they delivered on that front as well. Wines from all around the globe, each very interesting in their own right. All in all, wonderful experience- would highly recommend. Expensive, but well worth the money!

We had a very pleasant dinner at Stallen. We wanted to try authentic norwegian food and Stallen was a great choice, the food was delicious with some surprising flavors. Overall great table service with minor hiccups. We went for the wine pairing and it was worth it.
