Waited longer than I should have to try this Jackson staple! If I can tell you one thing it's arrive with an appetite. The addictive lemon pepper fries might not leave you room to finish the immense burger. The wait was very long but that was my fault, call ahead , I just didn't know yet! 10 for 10 recommend

Now I understand why they are called “Super Burgers”. Absolutely delicious, no one gives you nearly a pound of pure American beef anymore aka “super” and the fries on point. Love the amazing old school customer service from Catrina and man on the grill. Definitely, our go to spot next time we are in town. Believe the hype and see for yourself. 10/10 and I’ll do it again!

Food... we can't say say enough about the burgers. We had the Stamps single cheeseburger, and the Stamps single turkey burger. We also had hot wings, sprinkled with lemon pepper. The burgers are now in the top 3 of burgers we've ever had. All I can say about the burger, is just go get one! The wings were good, but not amazing. They were very big and just a good simple wing flavor. The fries the fries the fries... they're fresh cut potatoes sprinkled with lemon pepper, and a small is more than enough to feed 2 people. I could eat the fries everyday. The service- we were told up front that there would be about a 45 minute wait. There were about 6 people ahead of us, but I guess the trick is to call your order in, because a ton of people who were call ins came and went before we got our food well over an hour later. Most places prioritize the money that's in front of them (in-house customers), instead of money that's on the way (call-ins), and stop taking call-ins until they get the in-house line down. That's the reason the service is only 3 stars. The atmosohere... this place is in the middle of neighborhood and some of the other patrons seemed sketchy, however, they had armed security inside. Armed security in a hamburger joint makes a statement. Overall, the burgers are amazing, but not worth the amount of time we had to wait, so they should have a cutoff for the call-in orders when there are paying customers INSIDE. We'd definitely go back, but would have to strongly consider if the wait time is worth it at that time.

Randomly ended up here looking for a mom and pop joint for lunch on our way through town. These guys were super friendly and authentic homemade burgers and fries, the patties are 11oz each! While we waited we looked into the history a little more and it is a neat story. Glad we stopped. We would be regulars if we lived in the area for sure. Even had a delicious portobello mushroom vegetarian burger. Thank you all! Highly recommend!

Wow! Customer Service Still Exists! I want to sincerely thank the amazing woman who took my call and allowed me to place an order just one minute before closing. I truly didn’t realize the time, but it was so refreshing to experience such incredible service. You were patient, helpful, and kind — even at the end of a long day. Our food was hot, fresh, and absolutely delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Thank you again for going above and beyond!

So recently I've been over in Missouri, traveling by we decided to give this place a good try. The burgers and fries there were absolutely wonderful to have. I'd say one of the best burgers I've had in a while.

Went 2 months ago. It's highly recommended by me that you call in, and when you get there expect to wait an hour. It was definitely worth the wait though. The burger was fantastic. Fries were a little soggy but still good. I will be back. Also, it was good to see all races supporting this business close to Jackson state.

I was in Jackson for work and was taken to Stamps for lunch. Don't let the cover fool you, the meat is inside! Hands down one of the best burgers I've eaten! They have a good list of options that include turkey burgers, but I went full fledged carnivore and was not disappointed! I also ordered some fresh cut, seasoned fries; so good! You order at the counter and wait for goodness to happen. The surrounding area may make some uncomfortable, but I didn't feel unsafe at all. Give it a chance, it's a great burger!

One of my favorite eateries in Jackson!!! Food was great. Service was good and although it was a little hot inside, it was well worth it!!!! I'll be back.

This place is absolutely garbage!!! Its in the middle of a slum needing an armed guard for safety. The burger is low quality and tastes low quality. Dont waste your time! These reviews are 100% lies!!

Jackson Ms, best kept secret!! I saw this place being highlighted on the news for the exceptional burgers they sell and thought to myself. The next time I'm in town. I have to go try them now. So I got back in town today and stamp burgers with my first stop!!! I ordered a cheeseburger without the fries because I'm on a diet lol :) Cost of the cheeseburger was $11 before tax which I thought was a little bit much but after I got the burger, I understood why !!! it was huge and packed with flavor will definitely be returning!!!

Stamps has been a staple in the city a long time and has not lost its great service its quality of good nor lost its taste. I purchased a cheeseburger and fries online. When I arrived my wait time was short and I received my order fresh. My cheeseburger was juicy with fresh veggies. My fries were hot no need for ketchup. As usual I will be returning ! I know when I walk in I will feel welcomed everytime. Awesome atmosphere !

I have eaten at Stamps Super Burger over the years and it has been a great experience every time. My husband's first time was the bomb. He couldn't believe it. I tried to prepare him for that big juicy. The fries are in a league all by themselves. I'm writing this review because we're going to go there today and I can't wait. I promise to go on a diet for life after today. Somebody help me.

Stamps Super Burgers is a Jackson, Mississippi institution. With that being said, this particular location is definitely in a questionable part of town and I have had several people tell me I did not want to go there. However, my quest for great food far surpasses any reasonable expectation of safety for myself, so today I headed to this iconic location. I pulled into the small parking lot, which is only good for maybe two cars (though there was plenty of parking on the street) and immediately realized that this place has seen better days. Walking in, I would continue with that "had seen better days" narrative. This place definitely exuded that burger dive atmosphere. However, the plaques on the wall talk about how beloved of a burger joint this place is. Reader's Digest, MSN and other prestigious sources proudly explain that stamp Super Burger is the best burger in Mississippi. Those are some lofty accolades and Stamps Super Burgers definitely deserve that praise. Let me point out that these burgers are huge. They start out at eleven ounces. I can't even imagine wolfing down their double burger (almost pound and a half of beef). They are also delicious in that no-frills, old-school kind of way. I did not get the french fries, but after seeing them, I definitely wished that I did. Not only was it a huge pile of perfectly prepared potatoes, but they looked splendid. Definitely next time. Stamps Super Burgers gets a lot of praise and is definitely a place you need to check out if you are in Jackson, Mississippi.

The burger and fries here are really delicious. I ordered my food to-go and it took about 50 minutes to get mine because they were so busy. I would say it's worth the wait but i will call ahead next time.

TODAY'S VISIT TO STAMPS RESTAURANT FORCED ME TO DROP MY 5 STAR RATING OF THE ESTABLISHMENT TO THREE STARS. REALLY I WANT TO GO EVEN LOWER THAN THAT BUT STAMPS IS A FIXTURE IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD SO I WON'T. UPDATED REVIEW BELOW. I loved the last burger so much that I drove by Stamps today and decided to explore more of their menu. I ordered a turkey burger and then another beef burger. This time I decided to walk into the restaurant and I did not like the experience at all. It was ungodly hot in that building. Unmercifully and dangerously hot. The cook was pouring sweat and I stood to the side watching him pick the patties up and put them down on the bread and he was dripping sweat off his nose. It felt like I had gotten inside a car that had sat in 100 degree heat with the windows sealed and no ventilation. It was just unbearable. It was very dim in the building. So much so that it was dark. It seemed the only lights were the ones coming through the windows. And it wasn't enough. The building was packed with people and they looked miserable. But none looked as miserable as the cook over the grill. It felt like it was 100 degrees plus in that building and I didn't feel any air coming from anywhere. There were no windows open either. To the Ownership of Stamps... JUST WHY? Why would you subject your employees and your customers to such horrendous heat? There are dangerous heat warnings for Jackson now and it was hot outside but felt 10 times hotter inside. It was an OVEN. And there's wasn't so much as a ceiling fan that I could see and even if there was it would not have done any good since the air temp felt to be 100 degrees plus. When I took my food and walked outside there was a man walking out ahead of me and he shook his head and mumbled something about the heat inside. He wasn't happy about it either. So I knew it wasn't just me. To the Owner of Stamps, this level of heat constitutes, in my opinion, a hostile work environment. It certainly is dangerous for your employees especially who must work in it. But also for your customers. When I pulled off I pulled over to the side of the road and typed a scathing review and dropped my 5 Star rating down to 2 stars. As much as I want to promote a black owned business (I'm assuming you're still black owned).. I was angered by the dangerous work conditions for your staff. A part of me wanted to file a report with whatever agency that regulates work safety. However, after I typed the review I thought to myself that maybe the ac was not working and I was in error in my belief you simply wanted to save money on utilities and decided to risk your employees health because of it. So I called back to the location and I asked the cashier was it always hot like that in there. She didn't really give any response that let me know. She just said most days or something like that. I then asked her if the ac was on. She said it was but that because of temperatures outdoors they couldn't keep the place cool. I call BULL on this. I lived in TX and I know what super extreme heat feels like. I worked in an office building and would leave work to go and buy lunch and it would be so hot inside my car the rubber on my steering wheel would be MELTING. Rubbing off on my hand and I had a NEW CAR. YET THE BUILDING REMAINED COOL. EVEN COLD many days. There were plenty of small restaurants in Texas that operate in sweltering Texas heat and they also have grills and many customers in and out and somehow they remain refreshingly cool or cold even.. on some of the hottest Texas summer days. None of the ones i visited during my decade living in Texas had no where near the dangerous level of heat like your building. So if your ac was on (which I find hard to believe and incredible as it felt like I was being cooked in an oven) it's not big enough or powerful enough or it's set too high to effectively combat the high temperatures. Please get a more powerful one. Don't treat your employees or customers like this. The turkey burger was delicious by the way. Juicy and seasoned perfectly. Although I felt a bit queasy eating it as I saw the cook dripping sweat off his nose and face. Please do better and I will continue to support.

Heard two really great reviews about stamps burgers and had to stop as we drove through Jackson on our way back home from a family road trip. As soon as you walk in they greet you loudly and with the gusto! You feel welcomed from the start. It's very busy so we prepare to wait. The burgers and the sausage links are flavorful and big! The fries remind me of Penn Station or Wing Stop with a little bit of lemon pepper seasoning. The family owned neighborhood business was started by the grandfather who opened it as a deli market and now run by his sons and grandson as a popular burger staple. It's very close to Jackson State University so stop by and watch their football team if you can!

Arrived at Stamps. Burgers grilling old fashion way. Looked so good. 11 oz. Wow. Stepped up to order. Waitress notified us of 1 hour wait time. Dang. Had to leave so disappointed.

Food was amazing big portions and the staff there is super nice! Only reason why I put 4 out of 5 stars because it was really loud and I couldn't really talk much to my wife or Staff, besides that if you order the double super burger they'll look at you funny cause it's a BIG burger, I didn't even need fries to fill me up. Besides that amazing place to get some food!

I placed a call in order and I was informed it would be 30 minutes, well it ended up being a hour and 10 minutes. For the wait to be so long, my food was not hot and my fries definitely weren't fresh. This is not the first time I've placed a call in and they told me it would be 30 minutes, just for it to end up being over a hour. I understand it gets busy, but they definitely need a better system in place!

That's a solid burger! Fries were great and soft. Big burger and juicy. Would like to see them offer mushrooms. Don't try to eat while driving. Yea it's not best area or best building but burger was worth price. Couldn't imagine eating a double like they offer.

I've been seeing all over the net and social media that this was the place for great burgers! Welllll I'd rather go to Wendy's. I got the super cheeseburger with everything (grilled onion). It tastes like a regular homemade burger, nothing special. Had it been cooked on a grill over an opened flame, YES. The patties were ok seasoned but nothing to make me want to go back for another. I got a small order of fries, which are these soggy home cut fries drenched in this salty lemon pepper seasoning. I also got the 8 piece sweet and spicy wings. They're these soggy wings with absolutely no crunch sitting in this almost transparent bland watered down sauce. Will I risk my safety going for sub par burgers again? Not a chance, especially when there's a Wendy's in a safer place that cost less and offers way more flavor. I guess it's a Mississippi thing but this was a waste of my time and money.

I visited here for lunch a couple of weeks ago for the first time. It's located in an old dilapidated looking building that just screams that there is good food inside. Street parking here is your only option. Inside you realize that this is primarily a to-go type of place with just a few bar stools to eat at on the side counter. "Welcome to Stamps" is how every customer is greeted and adds to this being a friendly place with many repeat customers. The menu is simple. Two hamburgers and other sandwiches, a couple of salads and wings. I think you primarily come here for the burgers since it's in the name so that's what I went with. Like I said there are 2 burger options and the smallest one (Stamps Super Burger) is 11 oz for $7.45. Yes that's right! Almost 3/4 lb. The other option is double that! Ha! And Texas thinks they have a monopoly on big things.... I added a small order of fresh cut fries for $3.45. The wait for this food was about 15-20 minutes. After all its 3/4/lbs of beef! I grabbed a stool at the counter and watched. While I was waiting I noticed them cutting up whole potatoes into fries and loved seeing this. It's so rare that restaurants do that and instead serve frozen (out of a bag) fries all of the time. I also noticed their assembly line (since the kitchen is open and in plain view) and could tell they are a well oiled machine. Finally my food was ready and I had to start with the fries. They were absolutely delicious and perfect. I loved their potatoey flavor along with their seasoning. This is the way everyone should do fries. After a few fries, I grabbed that monstrous burger and dug in. Wow! Very impressive. The patty was well seasoned and very juicy. The dressing toppings (less onions on my request) were excellent on the big bun. I thoroughly enjoyed this meal and believe that this has got to be the best burger and fries meal in the Greater Jackson area if not the entire 'Sip. My only complaint (and I hate to complain about such a fine tasting meal) was that the bun gave way during the last third of eating it. It became a sloppy mess that turned into finger food. I believe the problem was the large and very juicy patty. Most bun bread just can't handle it. I wish Stamps could improve their bun supplier. With a canned drink my meal with tax was under $12. A real deal! Consider ordering online or calling in your order to save the wait unless you want to eat here which few people do due to limited space. The staff here are very friendly and help create a nice atmosphere. I thought about giving a 4 score only because of the bun bread not lasting but then decided it was ALL TO GOOD and will give a 5 Instead. Next time, I'll just bring a fork to finish that last third of the burger!

I had visited stamps before pre Covid and had to make a business trip to Jackson. A few days before the trip I saw a best burger in each state article and it had Stamp as best in Mississippi. As soon as you walk into Stamps you feel welcomed. Two of the original owner sons was hand padding the burgers and greeting customers as does the whole staff. It's mainly a take out place but they do have bar area for seating and I highly recommend eating there and talking the owners and the staff when they get a chance to do so. I will have to say that the burger is one of the I've had. Fully dress great seasoning and big chunk of meat and the fries are great too but the burger will fill you up, and you will be happy as can be afterwards.

i was out in jackson for work and found this place and yelp so i decided to check them out. the staff was very welcoming and professional, and they greet everyone that walks in through the door by yelling out "welcome to stamps!" which makes you feel really welcomed. they cook everything to order so it does take quiet a minute to wait for food. also, there is very minimal seating, so i highly recommend calling in to go orders. their menu is limited but i was highly surprised at the fact that they have a vegetarian option! i would highly recommend stamps burger to anyone visiting jackson, mississippi as this is basically a foodie landmark in the city!

Came here on a Saturday around noon to place a to go order. I noticed there is very limited parking space for the restaurant and it is a small space. I like the fact that it is an open kitchen concept and you can see the cooks making your burger. All the staff were very nice and helpful. I ordered a super cheeseburger with some fries. This burger is one of the best burgers I have ever had in my life and the fries were also amazing. I really like the seasoning on the fries. Everyone should try this burger!

This is the real deal- the burgers were some of the best I've had and the fries were great. We got the regular burgers and one large fry to split and it was more than enough. The staff was very friendly, especially the security staff. We took ours to go and ate at Jackson state by Coach Prime's new practice field.

It may not be the most appealing to look at at first glance and they have done some improvements, but if you want a traditional juicy greasy tasty burger that drips down your mouth then you have to try this. Get some lemon pepper fries and have a ball. Great burgers.

Got the turkey burger (called myself getting the small one) add cheese and grilled onions. Also got the small fries. I ate most of the fries on the way back to my office. Burger was still hot and juicy and the few fries I had left were still warm and good. I enjoyed the 1/3 of the burger I was able to eat lol. Will save the rest for dinner and breakfast tomorrow. Since I called in my order, once I paid upon arrival, I waited maybe 6 minutes (could have been less). Everything from food and service was great.

Yummmm! Forgot about this place! I'm not real big into burgers, but give me a Stamps' burger with chili - PLEASE! One will feed a family of three! I'm gonna have to eat this today! Thinking about it is making me HONGRY!

It's been YEARS since I've had a Stamps burger ... and I plan to come every time I travel back to Jxn.. and never make it.. this time I was DETERMINED to get a burger....and when I say... I was super excited to have one and just couldn't wait... I ordered the super burger with cheese and lemon pepper wings... greeted upon entering and just the good ole smell of homemade burgers in the air!!! I'm pretty sure I took a pic of the burger before I ate lol but I can't find it... what can I say... burger was full of flavor .. fresh... juicy... came with the works !!! Stamps still has it.. and I doubt they will ever lose it !!! #JSUSuperCardDays lol

The best hamburger I've ever had! We both ordered the single burger with cheese and fully dresses!! OmG! The burger was seasoned so well! We were trying to figure out what they seasoned their burgers with! Whatever it is true do it well! Their customer service is absolutely wonderful! They make all of their customers feel welcomed!! I'm always intrigued to enter "a country store / restaurant", and this place did not disappoint. It is definitely a WHAT YOU SEE IS WHAT YOU GET spot. Burgers, smoked sausage, bologna, and fries. That's it. No frills. No thrills. But one of the best burgers I've ever had the pleasure of tasting! It's a family owned spot that sits in the heart of Jackson near the JSU campus, and there's plenty of history within the four walls. And I felt honored to take part in a city staple.

I drove up to Stamps and smiled immediately. I'm an old soul, one who has a fondness for nostalgia. I could imagine myself growing up in Mississippi, coming here for an occasional treat with my folks. I would listen in awe at the stories shared between the regulars of the Deli Mart and the Stamps family; and marvel at the deliciousness being prepared. The building is rather vintage and in a neighborhood that I'm sure holds lots of memories and not enough care. However, that lends to the experience. I'm proud to patronize this institution that has stood the test of time. The wait for my order was sort of long, however, I went at lunchtime and they had several call-ins and others who walked in. I rather enjoyed my visit as I created storylines in my head and checked out the handsome men as they prepared countless orders. The staff were listening to old gospel songs, which served as a backdrop to my imagination. But anyway....the food... I had the most moist delicious turkey superburger and a bountiful order of crispy battered onion rings. I thought about also ordering french fries, which are hand-cut and looked scrumptious...but I didn't want to be greedy. The burgers and other menu items are priced fairly low. There are canned sodas and water available for purchase. No one dined in during my visit, but there is a huge counter available to do so. Parking is on the neighborhood streets.

Love love this place. First time visiting. Walked in and was greeted upon arrival by the team. They promptly took my order and said it would be ready in 20-25 minutes. It was indeed ready. When I opened the bag, everything was hot, plentiful and delicious. I had the turkey cheeseburger and fries. It was all cooked to perfection. I devoured as much as I could before being too full. I can't wait to go back!

First of all the food is stupendous and delicious. The burgers are big so if you're looking for a good big burger with delicious fries this is the spot. The service is amazing and you won't be disappointed in no way, shape, form or fashion.

Ordered a super burger with cheese added and fries. Easily could have fed 2 people with the amount of food we were given. Burger was well seasoned and prepared exactly how I asked. Will definitely recommend.
