This workshop is fantastic! I have been performing stand up for four years, and was a little skeptical. This was the best investment I have made in my career to date! I will never have writers block again. Thanks to this workshop I have the skills to kick start my creativity into high gear. I really appreciated Jerry's openness to everyone's ideas and levels of skill. If you a re a comedian or want to be a comedian, this workshop will help move you forward more efficiently. I was very impressed with the workshop and highly recommend it to anyone interested in writing comedy. I look forward to working with Jerry again.

This is a nice hidden gem for aspiring comics and comedy fans alike. My wife and I recently came here to watch a friend perform in one of their showcases, and it was great fun. About ten comics (all students, I believe) did short sets; as with any comedy show, some were funnier than others, but it was a great time overall. From what I understand, Jerry Corley, the guy who teaches the clinics, is a brilliant teacher. It was neat to watch the comics (some of whom, you could tell, had more experience than others) hone their difficult craft. It was a unique experience, and I'll definitely be back if I get the chance!

Jerry's class put you on speaking terms with success in the world of comedy. He goes off the established, conventional way of thinking and communicating with a conversational approach to teaching skills and techniques that have been honed by 27 years of doing stand up, 8 years as a staff writer on Jay Leno's Tonight Show, writing, and selling and seeing movie scripts turned into reality. But even more important than his credibility is that he loves comedy. I've been in two of his classes. He is both generous with his knowledge and supportive of his students. He encourages participation with no answer being "wrong," and no one way being "right." If you have an inclination to learn how to generate comedic material, do yourself a favor and attend one of his classes. Your career will thank you.

Jerry is amazing! He has years of experience as a working comedian and a writer for the Tonight Show, who better to teach the art of stand up? He is not only a great teacher but he is a very kind person. He cares about his students and wants you to succeed. Do yourself and your career a favor, and take his class!

Highly recommend! Everyone can benefit whether you want to become a standup, comedy writer, or just want to feel more confident sprinkling humor into your conversations… As with most creative endeavors, we often believe that there isn't a method available and that we have to struggle to find those gems. Too bad being creative isn't like math -- you just can't punch in the numbers and get results…. But Jerry's workshop shows you quite the opposite. He gives you tools that will make the creative process easy, fun and even prolific in your results. Prolific. It's like going from barely understanding elementary math to being able to understand Einstein's equations -- it's amazing! The best part is that the workshop is centered around getting the most out of you, your voice and your experiences. So you get to remain you in it -- in fact, it's encouraged. He also gives tips on how to handle the business of comedy (dealing with hecklers, etc). Jerry Corley is an amazing teacher, and his workshop is a game-changer.

Jerry's workshop is just what I needed to give me the confidence to get the ball rolling with my stand up. He also gives you the tools that will help you move forward and put together a set worth hearing. On top of all that Jerry is just an all around great guy and I am better off as a person for knowing him.

Saw one of my dear friends graduate. I have to tell you, this was one of the better comedy shows I have seen in a a while and these guys were all new. The reason: everyone had there own very intense point of view so wonderful to see these days. Everyone had great structure very funny act outs and twists. I haven't laughed so hard in a long time . Definitely will be recommending to folks wanting to learn the craft of stand up. So many people begging you to go to some place pay money so they can get stage time and the shows are so bad and the comics don't seem to be learning the basics. This place teaches the basics and gets performers ahead of so many open Mic folks. Definitely enroll. You will laugh your butt off

Jerry is FANTASTIC! I've never done standup but always wondered if I should. I took Jerry's weekend intensive workshop and it was amazing. I learned so much information and various writing techniques that I felt like I owed him more money! He's so passionate about standup and really helps a person understand the mechanics of how and why comedy works. Yes, you can "teach" comedy. Because of the weekend workshop, I decided to take his 8 week intro to standup. This was the best decision I've ever made. I earned so much and now have a 7 min set! I couldn't have done it without him and am forever grateful! If you are debating whether you want to pursue standup, write comedy or just brush up on your public speaking skills, take his class, you won't regret it.
