Stand Up Paddle North Texas

My mother and I, swayed by the cute photos of people pedaling around in giant rubber duckies, decided to give this a try. Despite it being almost 90 degrees out, despite it being more windy than expected, we had a lot of fun. We weren't able to get one of the cute ducks but we got a very pretty swan boat instead. There are two sets of pedals, one on each side, and a lever to steer the boat. It was a little harder to pedal than I expected, I think due to the wind, but it was very fun. We took short breaks to just enjoy being on the water but you have to be careful because you *will* drift. If I recall correctly, you're given about 45-50 minutes, told which routes to stick to and to give right of way to the gondolas (and of course to watch out for other boats). You are provided with life jackets. The staff were very nice and helpful. We'd love to go back during a cooler part of the year and do it again.

Would of loved to have a working duck today. Took my daughter out for this activity for our mommy daughter date. It wasn't what it needed to be. The petals jammed the whole time. So we wasn't able to go very far.Something was also wrong with the gear that turns the boat left/right. Our go to person thank us for the feedback and would relay the issues on to the manager. Other than that, me and my baby girl made the best of it. This wasn't my first rodeo I had a better experience with a similar setup on the east coast. It may have been just our duck. So aim for the swans or the basic paddle boats.It's a better experience when everything is working.

This was a fun experience from some who is surrounded by lakes! It was great to paddle in a loop and still see the new builds in the area! It was 97 degrees out but being out on the open water felt great! There’s also plenty of shaded areas too and a cute little water fall!

Awesome experience!!! My boyfriend and I went to visit this place last week. The owner is super nice is friendly. We didn’t now how to do at all, but the owner is really friendly and he taught us everything about it!!! The view is awesome! But Texas’s summer is too hot tho! LOL. We took lots of pictures and spent one hour! We love this experience and highly recommended!!!

In my opinion, our experience was very disappointing. We made a reservation to do one of the swan rides, only to find out we had shown up an hour late (we obviously misread our reservation info). Upon inquiring if it was possible to reschedule or get a refund, the person there, a nice young man, told us we would need to speak to the owner. I left a voicemail explaining what had happened, but all we received was an email saying that the swan sat there for an hour, so it could not be rented for an hour and so we would need to make a new reservation. While it is true that $60 are not going to drastically change our financial future in life, I believe that people who truly care for their customers usually try to help them. Again, we were the ones who made the mistake, not them, but we did not cause them a major loss because of that. Very poor company philosophy. If we hadn’t even shown up, I can see how it may look like someone who did not care about the ride but was still trying to get their money back.

Great experience/great area. Owner and workers very nice. Got us ready and launched within minutes of arriving. Very relaxing. Easy parking lot to get to and walk down to the shack/launch area.

AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME activity to celebrate National Daughters Day. They participated in the two-hour paddle board experience while I kayaked. The owner was very engaging. After a couple of strokes we were on our way! One mile around the main curve. Intimidating at first, but very doable. Great scenery, cool waters, and very peaceful on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. They absolutely want to do this again. And, we will! Only next time we’ll try all seven (7) miles!

Awesome people! I haven’t had a chance to try out the boats yet but I had booked a couple pedal boats for a group but didn’t get enough people signed up for two boats so I called Kevan at SUP and he was so understanding and was willing to give me a credit for one of the boats and he told me to just let him know in the morning to confirm but not only did I not get enough sign ups, I got the flu myself and I called him in the morning and he credited me for both boats and they were non refundable and non creditable within the 48 hour window but he made it happen. I will be bringing a whole group back in a few weeks when the weather is nice again. Thank you!

This was such an amazing experience. Kevin and Penny are wonderful instructors and really kind people. Their employees- Clay and Autumn were also helpful and fun. There were 11 of us in my group including 5 children. None of us had ever used a paddle board. Kevin trained us up and had us on boards in 15 minutes. His instruction was seamless and no one had any issues except me! Lol i fell off my board more times than everyone in my group combined. Penny realized that I needed to use the 12ft board and once I used it, I had no issues standing. I am 6 ft tall, so it makes a difference which board you use. Kevin and Penny stayed in the water with us the entire time and were patient and calm. I can't wait to return with my daughter - a really great way to spend a warm afternoon.

Kevan and his team are amazing, we had a group of 14 from our church and they were very attentive and accommodating. Went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and taken care of. We all had a great time on the water and the equipment was top notch. Definitely recommend and we will be back for sure.

Horrible service. Owner is rude and the equipment is in poor condition. Unfortunate since they are located in such a lively area.

Finally had an opportunity to take a paddle board lesson. I booked this last year but it rained and Kevan does give rain checks for up to a year so book with confidence. I've been on a paddle board before but Kevan's instructions helped me be more efficient. Both my friend and I felt like we learned something new. There were 4 other people at the same time as our lesson but it was fine. Kevan showed us the ropes and gave each group assignments. No one fell in. Speaking of that, while you might not necessarily fall in I would say it's best to wear something that will get wet. Even sitting on the board you'll get damp. So swimsuit or athletic shorts and shirts that dry quick are great. There's also a lot of good restaurants walking distance so stay a while and enjoy the area. You can also stay at the Omni or several other hotels and walk there. Highly recommend! Have fun!

Such a fun experience paddling through the canal in Las Colinas! The staff is very attentive, and it made for a great Sunday afternoon.

We had a blast! It was way more fun than we had anticipated!!.. we definitely can't wait to go again... Would recommend the two hour. We got to play on the paddle boards & paddle the canal!!

My friend and I spent the afternoon on the paddle boards at SUP NTX. We had a wonderful and fun time. The three young people who worked there were absolutely the best: kind, helpful and supportive. Even had one of them jump in the water after I fell off my board. We both just laughed and then she recommended I get back on the board and paddle down to the water falls. It could not have been more fun and hard work. Paddle boarding for almost 2 hours is not easy. I definitely recommend it for a fun time and some great exercise.

I had a good time out on Lake Carolyn, even with my bad back! I went out on Saturday and Keven and his crew gave a little lesson on how to kayak. I went tandem kayaking. So you get two "trail" options. You can head out to the left or the right! I picked the right. You are going through the small canals and you end out in the bigger area of the lake before you head in. I had to walk most of the way because ya know my bad back, but even walking along Lake Carolyn was nice. There were folks out there paddle boarding and some were riding on those "water bicycles" IDK what they are called. I wish my back wasn't jacked up because up until the pain kicked in, I was having a ball in the kayak. I will be back once my back is in proper shape and this time I will do a single kayak. I had fun right in my backyard!

Friendly staff and provided complimentary water at the end which is a lifesaver in this Texas heat.

Had a great time, Owners we're super nice and awesome. Made sure we were comfortable in paddle boards and gave us some tips and techniques since it was our first time. Had some water bottles too, which was nice on a hot day. Highly recommend!

Great people, great equipment, awesome experience. Tip: take lessons if you've never done sup before. We learned the hard way. Will definitely come back again and again. As for Lake Caroline, it's made huge improvements from where it was 10 years ago. But if you're looking for clear waters, go to Cozumel or Hawaii. This is a man-made lake in the middle of Irving. It's good, better than most actual lakes, but don't expect paradise. Again, it's Irving... Still, you're not going to find a better group of people. Keep in mind, it's run from a shack, small pier, and smaller launch platform. If you can't follow directions from a small operation trying to make sure everyone has a good time, this isn't for you. Otherwise, you'll have a great time! Update: We went back a second time two weeks later, and it was even better. This time I spent most of the time standing up on the board. All thanks to the instructions they gave me. Love this hobby. Still fell 8 times, but got back up 9. The worst that can happen is you fall in the water. Seriously, it's not that hard. My second time, and even my kid was asking "how do you make it look so easy?" If I can do it, so can you. Go! You won't regret it!

This was an awesome place to paddle board! My husband and I wanted to paddle board in DFW and didn't want to be on a lake. I'm so glad I found this rental shop on Google because this is just what we had in mind but did not know existed in the area! We had a blast being on the water, exploring the canals! Such a cool setting. 10/10 recommend.

The owner is very rude. He wasn't even paying attention when my girlfriend fell off her paddle board. When we got there, he was very rude and told us how we need to hurry because he was tired and wanted to go home.

Owner is extremely rude, yelling at customers. Alarming to see the tantrum he thew with a customer who was a few minutes late on a duck/swan boat. Not a friendly or welcoming place for families looking for a nice day on the water.

My best friend and I went for an hour of paddle boarding and we had a blast! It was his first time paddle-boarding and the staff gave some helpful tips before we got going. He had a lot of fun and got the hang of it after a few minutes. Lake Carolyn and the canals are a beautiful place to paddle-board. I highly recommend going for an afternoon adventure here.

Great. They kind of just let you do what you want to do as far as independence. I had never done it before. They gave me maybe a 2 minute run down and that was it. However. Felt very comfortable. It was nice and relaxing for a date. Finished right at an hour without paddling the entire way.

I had a blast! I've never paddle boarded before and our instructor gave us a quick 15 min lesson before and helped me and my boyfriend feel good & Confident about trying it for the first time . We live in the area so we will definitely be back to try kayaking . They are open year round, I believe which I found to be pretty cool. I would recommend this place to anybody! It was lovely!! The boards we're nice and the area you're paddling in is gorgeous. The canals water isn't dirty and they even have waterfalls. I highly recommend coming here if you want to paddle or kayak. Plus the owner of the place was great. Will be back again soon!

I've been here previously, had a great time. Called to see what the latest reservation was and advised to go online to look for myself. Extremely condescending and didn't even hang up before rudely talking crap about me while I was still on the line.

The guy that runs the place was a little rude when I had called and told them I was lost. He almost didn't give us our full hour. Additionally, he was rudely sarcastic even after my driver was freaking out trying to figure where were going and we had rushed there . He wasn't welcoming, but did give us some education as far as how to paddle board. I didn't know any other of it because they never teach u how to do it in Austin.

This place was just so much fun! They offer you life jackets and even gives you a safe place to put your car keys and stuff like that. Owner was just so nice and super helpful. I will be booking next week to bring my nephew. Thanks so much guys for taking care of us!

We had a fun time renting SUPs and paddling around the lake. Staff was very helpful getting us in and out of the water and teaching us the basics of paddling.

I've wanted to try SUP for years, and finally made it for a lesson with my 14 yr old son today at SUPNTX. Awesome experience!! Kevin was super patient with us, a great mix of teaching us the proper techniques, but also giving us plenty of time to explore on our own. We will definitely be back!

Kevin, the owner, is super-nice and accommodating. Lake Carolyn is a great place to do SUP and the location, in the heart of downtown Las Colinas, can't be beat. Will definitely come back and strongly recommend SUP NTX if you want to do something different in Las Colinas, have a good time, and get some exercise at the same time!

Great experience! They were actually a lot of people here renting out paddle boards. They have you sign a waiver and give you a little tutorial if you're new. It's pretty easy to pick up on. We brought our dog and had an awesome time. Some people got in the water put it looked and smelled bad

My date & I had a great first time experience paddle boarding here. Although a bit on the pricey side compared to other rental options elsewhere in the metroplex, it was well worth it. Kevin made the process easy, texting me & letting me know where to park. He gave us a brief lesson and we were off. Lake Carolyn was very calm, so there was no problem getting the balance part down. We made the loop that was suggested that takes around an hour, enjoying the views that reminded me of the river walk in San Antonio. It couldn't have been more relaxing and Kevin gave us a great experience. Highly recommend!

What a great experience my daughter and I had on Mother's Day. The owner was friendly, fun, nice and patient with training us on our 1st time Kayaking.

Seriously UnderWhelming... you just go in a circle, dead stinky fish here n there, nothing special. Save your $ just walk the canal with a date, go dine out, but don't waste your time here. Weak.

Great little hidden gem. Friendly staff. We had a great time paddle boarding around the mile loop of the canal. Had ice cold water waiting for us upon our return. Definitely recommend this place.

Reservation process was simple. We had a great time enjoy the scenery sunshine and a nice workout. Kevin was really knowledgeable and nice give us a lot of good tips that made the experience more pleasurable. We will definitely be back.

From start to finish this experience was very enjoyable. I'm so glad we picked this place for SUP. The owners were so nice and helpful. We had a first timer with us and they were so kind and patient. Would definitely recommend. The area this is located is also very beautiful and fun to explore. There is parking right by it as well which made it so easy.

We did a two hour, two person SUP lesson and it was awesome. The first hour was learning and experimenting with the basics: paddling, turning, standing up, getting down, etc. This was great, since neither of us had done SUP before. We liked the format of the lesson, it wasn't a lecture, we immediately got on the boards and got to try things out, and Kevin was really helpful. The second hour we explored the canals, waterfalls, and lake. We had such a good time and will definitely come back and do a rental!

Went here with my girlfriend and we had such a great time, get this, I can't even swim, the instructors are really cool, they have food and they're patient, it really wasn't that hard to learn once you got over your fear. I fell off the board like twice when I was trying to stand up but my girlfriend didn't fall off at all. I recommend it, it's a great date idea or just to try.

Boyfriend and I tried paddle boarding for the first time (his) and we had a blast! The guys are friendly and funny, and their best to make it a great experience for all. It's also extremely reasonably priced and it's a different thing to do with an out of the city feel without traveling far. Will definitely come back again!

We had a super time. It was so easy to book online, directions were perfect and the kayaks and SUP boards and life vests were clean. We booked a one-hour event and it was plenty of time. Went for Father's Day and it was a perfect outing for the entire family with teen kids. The location was great because we weren't overwhelmed by being on a huge lake and the water wasn't smelly or slimy. Great experience!

Winter time fun!!! It was great to be out on the water this holiday season! Kevan gave the best and detailed guidance before our time out in the canals.

We didn't feel like we received good service because we are Muslim, especially by the male owner and his son. His wife was kind. When we arrived, they were rushing us to go in and we saw how they treated the people after us. The people after us had a member who was more than 15 minutes late while we arrived at 10:02 while our appointment was at 10:00am. Also, when we were getting out, they made my sister in law wait 10 minutes to get out because they said they wanted to set up the paddle boards for the group that I mentioned had a member who was 15 minutes late. I told the son that hey, let her get out, and he said my dad told me to keep the paddle board in the water. You don't hold someone hostage in the water and unable to get out while we wait for someone else, mind you someone who is late and you were told they will be late. Just get them out! Also, when I spoke to the dad, who is the main owner, he just went and told his son that he only wanted him to keep the paddle board on deck, no apology to us or anything. And even in getting us out, we were rushed while they were being kind and patient with others. No sorry about that, our apologies for the wait. Our mistake. Nothing, it was as if we were the ones who were giving them the mistreatment. We enjoyed the ride yes, but the service sucked and was blatantly discriminatory. It was a busy day, so thankfully we got to see how everyone else was treated in comparison to us and it wasn't kind at all.

I just went here last weekend and it was a blast. We booked a tour with 5 of us and the owners were so great about giving us tips, demos, and advice. The location is great and its very peaceful and beautiful. They said the water is tested every month and safe if you happen to fall in or get to hot and need to take a dip. We had a nice time hanging out on the patio and The owner made us a wonderful spread of food. I would highly recommend going Stand Up Paddle boarding here.

These guys are great. The canals are fun to cruise, and the waterfalls are a definite must. My fiancé and I ended up buying some used boards from them as well. Great guys, would highly recommend

My kids had a blast. It is a beautiful location and calm lake carolyn waters which makes it the best place to learn Paddleboarding. Kevin, the instructor was very knowledgeable and knew how to work with kids which made learning fun and easy. Thank you!

Drove all the way to lake grapevine to paddle board with SUP NTX - was asked to wait 15 minutes for a family to come back with their boards (Company will not take reservations for parties of 3 or under) when a group of 3 came over and wanted to go out in the water. They started complaining - the attendant called Kevin the owner and Kevin told her to rent out to the party of 3 instead of us. So no paddle boarding today-wasted time and money - SUP NTX provided a hugely disappointing experience - I do not recommend!

I booked a two hour, two person appointment online for a friend's birthday. Kevin took his time showing us tips and tricks so that we could work "smarter, not harder" to paddle. I am not a fit person....and after two hours I could have gone for another! It was a fun experience and I will be back to cruise the canal again!
