I can’t say enough about how lovely this place is. I’ve been here six times, and I’ve yet to have a bad experience. I’m in the extended stay hotel just across the parking lot. So as someone who can’t cook 😩 and doesn’t have an oven or air fryer option in their room, this place has been a life saver. When I’m over hamburger helper and sandwiches, I pop over during one of the TWO happy hour time slots, or just order off the daily specials menu and sit down to have an actual meal for cheap. I spend between $20-$40 with tip depending on how much I indulge and if I get booze. I’ve had the quinoa, two types of fish, a variety of soups, different booze, desserts, pasta, chicken, and burgers all off the same menu, and it’s ACTUALLY DELICIOUS! I don’t know how they do it, but I’m extremely satisfied. 😁

Visited Stanford's on a whim after some shopping nearby. Overall, a GREAT experience. I wish I could remember the bartender's name because she deserves a raise. (If management reads this, I visited on 06/24 at 2pm-find her!) I first ordered a "Huckleberry Raindrop," which sounded great...However, I found it overly sweet and couldn't drink it. I changed my drink order and next went with the tried-and-true Dirty Martini. WOW- easily one of the best dirty martinis I've had in the city. Perfectly chilled, just the right amount of brine, and they didn't skimp on the olives (I could have eaten like 3 more, but I decided to leave with a little dignity). Now, the Mediterranean Tavern Burger? I'm torn. Delicious either way, but the description led me to believe there would be an actual "patty." A more accurate description would be a gyro-style wrap on flatbread. Not your standard burger, but solid flavor and good execution. Upon payment I was pleased to see that I was not charged for the first drink which was not expected and greatly appreciated! Will 100% be back. Might even make it a regular thing just for that martini!

We went there for a graduation dinner and everything was just good. The lavender drink was too sweet but the smell of lavender made it great! I still needed to add a bit of water though. I wished I knew the name of our server but she was the best!

Google
One great place I was very happy to have a friend introduce me to. The food is top notch here, and the service is great! I had the prime rib and it gave me great mouth watering satisfaction. Even my mother, who rarely finishes her mepas in one sitting left no leftovers with her prime rib! I was at Lawrey's in Beverly Hills a month ago, and tbh, while I enjoyed both places, Stanford's set a new standard for me, personally for prime rib! They calamari and cream brulee were also excellent! If you're in the area, you won't be disappointed eating here. Otherwise, you won't know what you're missing...

Google
Excellent food and beer, good happy hour offers. I was here couple years ago, but it was unlucky day. Today I gave it a second chance and didn't regret. I ordered crab cake from daily lightfare menu as a starter. It was top, very tasty combination with arugula and shrimps. I finished my meal with Ribs and onion rings from happy hour deal and I'm very happy :)

Google
The crab cakes were amazing. We also had the rib steak, brussel sprouts, cheese bread, bacon Mac and cheese. Everything was delicious and the service was awesome. Highly recommend this place if you want to treat yourself with amazing food.

Yelp

Yelp
Service ..... Jordan served us in bar. He was servicing the entire bar section and worked hard taking care of everyone. Three of us had southwestern salad, they all loved it. I had the steakhouse prime rib sandwich with fries. Best fries ever, ciabatta bun was fabulous, I ordered horseradish sauce on the side. Cocktails - old fashioned and lemon something were done with finesse! Great job!!!

Yelp
Always amazing! Our go to for a great meal and night out! Tacoma location closed 2 years ago and we don't ever hesitate to make the drive up to the Northgate location.

Yelp
Stanford's is one of my favorite restaurants in Seattle. The food is excellent. I especially love the steelhead dinner. Prices are good for what you get. The service is good and the ambiance is fine.

Yelp
We went for the Bar Happy hour menu before a movie. The food was great and reasonably priced. We will be back.

Yelp
Learn how to present and prepare good cuts of meat! I was going to order a tenderloin, and it was barely an inch thick, and about 6 inches in diameter. That's not a tenderloin

Yelp
This is my go to place for lunch. I try to meet all my friends for lunch here because it's easy access on and off the freeway. There's always parking available. The food is consistently good. Need I say more?

Jade R.

Yelp
Great pork chop. Green beans were just the right amount of crunch and the mashed potatoes were creamy. Good service. Relaxed atmosphere.

Yelp
Stop by Stanfords at Northgate today for lunch. It's been before the pandemic since me and my husband had visited. Stanford is located in the north west corner of the old Northgate Mall parking lot. I believe it has been there since 2012 or 2013. As we drove up, there was plenty of parking that was free. Walked into the location and we were greeted by a host and a hostess and were seated right away. There were several tables being used, but it was not full by any means that to me was surprising, because Stanford was always a very busy place. When we used to previously go, we had lived down in the Portland area for many years, and visited many of the Stanford's in that area and appreciated their good food. Today we were coming back a museum date, and since we live so far north now we don't get to this location very often. We decided to visit and have lunch. My husband had soup and sandwich. It was a BLT and chicken curry soup. He said it was relatively good. The bacon was a little fatty and the soup could've used a bit more vegetables but all in all it was a good lunch. I ordered the prime rib dip that was on a ciabatta roll and it came with a choice of vegetables, fries, or a salad and I chose fries. It took approximately 12 to 13 minutes for us to get our food which is not that long at all, the meal was very good overall and we will go back as long as they're open. I was surprised at how few people were in the restaurant when this was relatively a pretty busy place before the pandemic, and also pretty busy before Northgate decided to become something other than a shopping mall. Which I believe is unfortunate but that's an entire different review. All in all Stanford did a pretty good job. It was relatively quiet and not a lot of activity, The server her name was Diane she was very sweet and accommodating. I did use the restroom while I was there, and I was surprised at the condition of the doors in the ladies room. It looked like they've been knocked around a few times and not a lot of care has been taken. I don't think the restaurant has been updated since it was built. No photos this time

Yelp
Good food so 4.5 stars, Jordan, our server gets 5 stars. We had the spinach mushrooms and the half chicken and the grilled chicken club. Tasty food. Potatoes and chicken we're a little dry on the half chicken plate. The chicken club had a couple weird portions of the thing breast on the sandwich. Our server, Jordan was on point but not overly so. Awesome and friendly.

Yelp
The curry soup was delicious. My husband loved his steak. The waitress was very friendly. We enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere. We will be back.

Yelp
Stopped by for a birthday dinner and had a great experience. Service was excellent! We were seated right away and the restaurant was able to accommodate us in a way that wasn't distracting for other patrons since we brought our little one along. We were really impressed with the manager who stopped by several times to check on how things were going. The manager even took our drink orders since our waiter was on a break. Our waiter was also very polite and prompt and the hostess was very friendly upon our arrival and our exit. The food was also quite good and we found the portions and pricing to be very reasonable. We started off with their 'famous' bread which was a tasty, savory starter. We also got the surf n turf on special and the seafood linguini which was also on special. We were happy with the flavor of both dishes- the steak was cooked well and the linguini was packed with scallops and shrimp. Overall we had a great experience at Stanfords. The upscale ambiance paired with excellent service and food at a reasonable price is what will keep us coming back. We also noticed they have some pretty good happy hour deals too so we will have to check that out. I think this business has taken a hit with the pandemic and the Northgate mall reconstruction but Stanfords is definitely a spot worth going to!

Yelp

Yelp
I've gone a couple of times recently and I've been loving the ahi! The serving sizes are decent and the service is always super friendly. The servers always have great suggestions and do an amazing job prebussing and guiding the experience. I can't wait to come back for happy hour!

Brian E.

Yelp
Very small portions, not a great value. Slow (but nice) service with about a half full restaurant. Wouldn't go back

Yelp
Party of 7 seated quickly, the wait staff was attentive and very friendly, accommodated all of our requests. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. Will return frequently!

Yelp
For a late afternoon visit, it was very relaxing and the food very good. The portobello burger was great, as was the brownie

Yelp
An excellent place to dine at! The atmosphere is upscale and is very bright and opened. The staff are very friendly with spot on service. The food was seasoned perfectly and was very filling. The prime rib sandwich has tender cuts of meat on crispy bread. The steak frites was delicious from the well seasoned steak to the perfectly cooked rosemary potatoes. It's a great place to eat at anytime and can't wait to go back soon.

Yelp
Decent food and good service. A little pricey. Food is okay for the price. Nice staff.

Yelp
Wow. What a disappointment. You walk in and the place is super cool, really old school steak house vibes. Service was great - absolutely loved our server. The food was bad. First, it took over an hour for our food to come out. My steak was unevenly and over cooked. It was tough. It had no seasoning. The mash potatoes had big lumps of raw potato. Terrible. Would not go back.

Yelp
Stopped in for my Birthday meal. I sat at the bar as it was just me. Staff is friendly yet extremely busy at lunch. It was loud and you could hear many conversations. I ordered off the fresh sheet. The fish was perfectly prepared yet lacking flavor. The asparagus had yellow ends and we all know, chewed and nit eatable. Will stick to happy hour options in the future.
google avatar

Mikala K.

Yelp
Family ordered the prime rib $55 with fries and veggie, prime rib sandwich $24, pasta which they loved and salad. I don't need to be back as it wasn't anything special and can simply be made at home. The service was adequate and the ambiance spacious like Kahala Zippys but darker and more privates booths. Yet can try but I'm going to try others in the area.
google avatar

Jason L.

Yelp
Your standard American joint and it did not disappoint. I was surprised to not see a lunch menu and didn't want to do a steak for lunch so I opted for a salad. The chicken cobb salad was terrific. I appreciated the dressing, which was just the right amount, and thought the focaccia bread was phenomenal. The chicken wasn't too dry and when everything was mixed together, it was fantastic. I highly recommend this salad!

Yelp
Stanford's is one of those indies that has been reliably there. I often drive past it in Seattle's Northgate neighborhood, as one of the few original businesses that remained after the transformation of Northgate Mall to the Seattle Kraken Community Iceplex. I remember visiting Stanford's once, but well before I was a Yelper. Stanford's has been around since 1990, but was acquired by Ascend Hospitality Group in 2019. So Stanford's in Washington (Northgate and Tacoma), three sites in Oregon are now related to Famous Dave's locations and Ascend Prime Steak & Sushi in Bellevue. A decent indie steakhouse is hard to come by, usually it's some chain like The Keg, Black Angus or higher end (= where sides are separate) like Jak's@, Flintcreek Cattle, Bateau, Metropolitan Grill, El Gaucho, just to name a few. @edit made 3/13/22 for Jak's With their steaks, they do include green salad, sauteed broccoli and carrots, and choice of potato (ie baked potato, garlic mashed potatoes, potato pancakes or fries). Served with sourdough bread upon request. But after my long time North Seattle fave, Bick's Broadview Grill closed in early 2019 (now a Diva coffeehouse), I bookmarked Stanford's. But it wasn't until a Yelp Elite event in Jan 2021 (1/19/21 takeout), that I actually got reacquainted with this Northgate location. There were also three additional onsite dinner visits where The Homie accompanied me on 9/24/21, 10/28/21, and 2/21/22. I have not experienced the lunch menu, the outdoor seating area, or the bar area for Happy Hour cocktails and bites. Convenient location with up to three hours free parking. Consistently friendly and welcoming staff with on point service. Delicious menu items, an occasional splurge without totally blowing one's budget, and served in a comfortable, casual setting. I've observed Stanford's as an approachable dining choice for families, friends, groups, after work meetups, and also for date night. An overview of the four visits for dinner, we've tried cabernet steak bites, prime rib dip, prime rib, and rib eye steaks, where the latter two were spot on medium rare as requested. The accompanying sides were also generous and tasty: green salad, brussel sprouts, garlic mashed potatoes, loaded baked potato, French fries, creamed spinach, asparagus, onion rings, and decadent mac & cheese. We also tried as a starter once, the cheese bread. Wrapping it up for one visit, we tried the creme brulee, oven baked chocolate chip cookie a la mode, and a doppio. You'll definitely leave full and satisfied. Recommended!

Yelp
We love Stanfords! Great service and the bone in ribeye is a great value. Good drinks and dependable quality.

Yelp
I paid $9 for the baked potato : butter, green onion curls, sour cream, bacon crumbles, and cheddar cheese. So why is there literally NOTHING but heavy salt on my potato????? Waited 30 minutes for a bland dry potato. I've called 4 times and they won't answer.
google avatar

Brent R.

Yelp
It was alright. Rather expensive for a mid tier steak house. Nice restaurant. I might go back but there are just so many other restaurants in that price range that are just as good or better.
google avatar

Judy S.

Yelp
Great food choices, great food & fabulous service! Very enjoyable, would definitely come again

Yelp
Very comfortable & clean. Love their GF bacon Mac & cheese. Danielle is always a pleasure & has a fantastic memory I'm always amazed her remembering my allergy sanctum only in once every 6 weeks.

Yelp
I am recommending Happy Hour at Stanford's, especially the after 8 pm part of it. Entrees were very good and very nicely priced. $12 for fish and chips. I wish every restaurant could cook fried fish like this. Very light batter and done perfectly. Also have a happy hour burger for $10 that beats all the competition.

Yelp
We went to Stanford's after the Mariners game on Mother's Day. They were booked out but were able to seat us in the lounge area. It was my first time at the restaurant. We ordered the stuffed mushrooms for starters. The y were really good. I ordered the Cobb salad with steak. My oldest son ordered the seafood pasta and really enjoyed it. My wife got the French did and youngest son ordered the prime rib. All were delicious. We split the key lime dessert special. It was so delicious. I'm going to go back and get one for myself.

Francisco P.

Yelp
Had an unexpectedly wonderful dinner last night celebrating our grandson's birthday. We all had a great meal, personal service and great time. First time but we will certainly be back soon. Francisco.

Jana M.

Yelp
We ordered a French dip sandwich to go. I was in NW hospital and the food choices there were not great. The French dip was a large roll and lacked the filling! There was barely enough "prime rib" to cover the bread!! Very sad, came with fries but again the portion was skimpy. I ordered extra au jus because there never seems enough, there wasn't, did the person who packaged it leave it out? Or is extra that super skimpy? Have dined there for lunch in the past but may decide not to be a future customer.

Mary K.

Yelp
I love Stanfords in Northgate. We, 4of us, have a ladies lunch there every 4 months or so. We always have great service and the food is really good. The staff is always so helpful we have 2 elderly people in our party and the staff go out of their way to help them. The atmosphere is also nice, we like that it is not over loud. Thank you Stanfords for always making our day a special one.

Susan F.

Yelp
The food was delicious. Staff was fast, friendly and efficient. They cheerfully accommodated our request for separate checks. We love Stanford's and will definitely be back!
