"Stanley’s Kitchen & Tap, located at 1970 N. Lincoln Avenue, is known for southern cooking and late-night drinks. It has become a storied spot, hosting the Stanley Cup six times as Blackhawks players and fans found Stanley’s a comforting spot to party and relax. Despite business being level, changes in the surrounding area and a rent dispute led to its closure. The owners are seeking a new location, hoping to maintain the essence of Stanley's in a different neighborhood." - Ashok Selvam

"Stanley's Kitchen & Tap, a fixture in Lincoln Park for 25 years, is closing due to a rent dispute with the landlord. The restaurant, known for attracting celebrities and locals, serves a southern menu and had a popular weekend brunch buffet. Stanley's earned a loyal customer base and was an integral part of co-founder Donnie Kruse's legacy." - Ashok Selvam

Excellent, large servings of food that tastes way better than expected combined with a fun, lively atmosphere makes this place one of my favorites. Ask to try their fried cookie dough balls - they're not on the menu but they're available and they're amazing.

Went there today for the Brunch Buffet, the food was AWESOME! The staff was friendly, and gave awesome service. I loved the decor and the vibe, it's definitely a family friendly place. It was cool being able to enjoy a good brunch, while cheering for the Bears. I will definitely be back again very soon! I found out about this place on TV.

Very cool place. The seating in the back reminds me of growing up in the 70's and 80's. A very welcoming atmosphere. We were greeted when we walked in and thanked when we left. The server was very friendly. They have a good variety of beers and great comfort food. Meatloaf...mashed potatoes and Chicken Fried Chicken. Yummy!

This bar is a great Chicago spot, typical corner bar in a nice neighborhood. It has great food and atmosphere. Get the Burger or the Fried Chicken and if you're there on a weekend night stick around for a good time. It will fill up and the music is always good.

Great Fried chicken, and burgers at a reasonable price. Had the Elvis burger, hand made burger with prime beef, and tater tots excellent. The Mrs. had the chicken which was golden brown, juicy, and fried to perfection. Big screen TV's in the comfortable dinning room to watch games. The service was exceptional, with knowledgeable waitress and waiter knowing the food and drink menu. Have had the Sunday brunch on prior visit, with fried chicken and all the fix'ns, you won't go away hungry. We will definitively be back soon!

Tasteless biscuits, the chicken fried steak isn’t country steak it’s just a sliced steak so the texture is bizarre? The brunch menu is confusing and poorly printed, and their idea of a cream gravy is room temperature margarine. Waitress was nice and there seemed to be some redeeming qualities.

I don't know how I had never heard of this place before. My family found it from a Groupon and now it's one of my favorite Chicago spots. Amazing comfort food, great drinks that were free that night thanks to Sailor Jerry. Our server was the nicest dude too (I wish I remembered his name!).

I would not recommend this place for a late night drink. My friend's and I went to Stanley's this past Saturday night around 2:20 hoping to have one drink before the bar closed. We walked in and as my friend's were ordering, they announced last call. At 2:30 they were given their drinks and then at 2:35 the crew said everyone out, the bar is closing. So we said we'll just sit and finish these quickly, we'll be out at 3. They insisted we leave and said we should have drank them faster. When we reminded them we just got the drinks a few minutes before and asked why they sold drinks when they had no intention of letting people finish them, they said it wasn't their problem and we needed to get out. 4 drinks, all wasted. Total robbers. Will never go again and would highly recommend you go to the place across the street instead.
