"This Issaquah spot is one of the best (only?) Chiefs bars in the area, which some fans consider “Arrowhead West.” The barbecue is also Kansas City-level good, with brisket, baby back ribs, hot links, and smoked turkey served by the pound with an array of satisfying sides. Best to call ahead, since takeout orders will likely go fast. And there’s now limited indoor dining." - Gabe Guarente

First time visiting, we ordered Linebacker because we can try both brisket and pull pork. The two sides were coleslaw and cream corn. I like the spicy BBQ sauce. It added more favor to the meat. The brisket pieces were thick and I can use the fork to cut them into pieces. I did not taste smoke flavor on the meat. I just added a lot of bbq sauce. The coleslaw was okay. Cream corn, the corn seems old but the cream was good. The serving side could be little more. They have most of NFL games which was nice. Price is typical BBQ place $18-$20 for sandwiches. The combo is $35-$50. The service was good. She was very sweet. Parking is in the back. The inside feels like other sport bar but serve Kansas City bbq.

Be ready to be in Chiefs Kingdom in here. I actually ended up getting the whole restaurant to myself and had good service. The sandwich was awesome and the creamed corn was really good too. Go Hawks!

Some of the best smoked chicken wings I've had. Fall off the bone, moist, delicious. Homemade barbecue sauce was great. Prices were a bit steep but it was good value for slow smoked goodness

The server was nice but the food was just ok. For how expensive it is I was expecting a much better meal. 1 larger meal, soda, and tip cost me $50.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Stan’s Barbecue in beautiful Issaquah, and I can’t say enough about the fantastic experience! The food was top-notch, with tender, flavorful meats that were smoked to perfection and sides that added just the right balance to the meal. The atmosphere was laid-back and welcoming, making it the perfect spot for my Brother and I to catch up after his recent move to the town. But what really stood out was the exceptional service, led by the rock star manager, Leif, and his stellar team, including Connor. Leif and Connor go above and beyond to make every guest feel valued and catered to, bringing such a high level of care and enthusiasm to everything they do. Their dedication makes the whole experience unforgettable, with every flavorful detail thoughtfully taken care of. Stan’s Barbecue has definitely earned a new loyal customer, and I can’t wait to come back!” We’re bringing’ the folks back in November!

If you like Burnt Ends, you need to get to Stan's BBQ on Front Street. The Ends are a Special only offered Thursday through Sunday but well worth the wait. Stopped in today for a generous helping of BBQ and the delicious creamed corn. Very friendly atmosphere where all are welcome, and a variety of sports showing on several screens.

We were on our way back home to the east side and decided to stop in Issaquah. Stan’s BBQ was one of the restaurants that was closest to us, and we were able to walk in with no wait. 4 adults/youth and 4 kids. The kids loved their pulled pork sliders & the brisket salad was tasty! We shared the $50 family platter and got so much food! Totally worth the price and best brisket & ribs we’ve had in a very long time! Sides were yummy too. We will be back. Thanks for the hospitality!

Disappointing. We walked in on a whim from a delicious smell as we passed by outside. I have no idea what we smelled that was so good. We ordered burnt ends and smoked meatballs. Of course they were really barbecued, but on flavor alone, I honestly couldn't tell if they had any contact with barbecue smoke. No smoky flavor at all. Very heavy on the sweet barbecue sauce. Sides were small and bland. Service wasn't particularly good either. I really like to try and see the best in the places I visit, but the only appeal that I could find here is maybe it's a nice bar to watch sports with some friends. They also charge extra for credit card usage. They call this out, so it's not a surprise, but wanted to give a heads up in the review.

Yelp
You need to go to this place!!! Worth the drive if you're not in the area! The meat is smoked so well I didn't even want to put BBQ sauce on it and I love BBQ sauce! Between my wife and I, we had Baby back ribs, burnt ends (brisket and weekend special), smoked wings, baked beans, potato salad, cream corn, and each plate came with buns. It all was so good! They serve Kansas City BBQ and I kid you not, the burnt ends flavor and sauce triggered a memorable experience I had eating BBQ in Kansas City years ago. My favorite item was the Baby Back ribs. They were plenty full and tasted even better the next day when I ate the left overs. The chicken wings were perfectly smoked and packed a great flavor. Cream corn sauce could have been a little thicker for my feel, but still my second favorite flavor item on the plate after the ribs. Potato salad mixed with some bbq sauce made it out of this world. The owners were there and were great people. They really made us feel welcome. The bartender/waiter was a super nice guy as well. There is plenty to do around them as well. We took a walk through the cute town and plenty of hiking. Highly recommend!

Yelp
I love to eat great food! One of my favorite foods to eat is bar-b-que. I've been all over the US eating various regional styles from Carolina to Texas to Kansas City and place in between. Stan's is a great place in an area that you don't expect to find Texas style. Normally you think of a chain restaurants in the suburbs. Fortunately, they are just a few minutes away from home. Since this was my first visit, I chose the mixed platter that had brisket, ribs and pulled pork. It had some vegetable side dish, which I ignored since I was there for the meat. The brisket was excellent! Juicy and full of beefy goodness. The ribs were just as good! Lots of smokey flavor (not over smoked) and a nice dry rub. The pulled pork was good, but a little dry. The bun on the side was not memorable, but when I'm eating bar-b-que I don't really pay attention to the side dishes. Service was excellent! Quick greeting and seating. Attentive server, with quick delivery of the food and a consistent check on us throughout our meal. Please note, on busy nights the parking can be difficult. There are 6 restaurants all together on Front Street, so you may have to circle the area to find a parking spot. Behind the library is a good place for parking, but again when it's the dinner hour on a Friday or Saturday, you may have to circle around. Overall, a great place to eat with great service.

Erika J.

Yelp
What a gem! We fell in love with the dry rub on the ribs. I also loved the baked beans, so much so I ate my husband side too! We loved talking to the owners, Tyson and Amanda. They were so kind and truly offer outstanding customer service. With all the options around, this place is one you do not want to miss out on!

Yelp
Came here with my best friend Andrew as its his favorite bbq restaurant and place to eat in Issaquah after growing up nearby in Sammamish. When we arrived we were informed a comedy show was about to start which was the perfect addition to our plans. I ordered a half pound of the burnt ends with potato salad, a jalapeno and cheddar beef link, and a glass of woodinville rye and my friend had a pulled pork sandwich and Mac & Jack's African amber. Food was all tasty and high quality. Iv been missing good bbq after living in the bay area. For the comedy show both openers and the headliner were all funny. Paul Goodwin joked about his hill billy conservative family growing up in Mississippi and using a giant dildo instead of a gun for home defense, Ev Jenson talked about being trans and transitioning and being a stoner, and Kermet Apio was partway into a good set when a drunk old lady heckler derailed everything talking about how she saw him preform over 30 years ago. After not knowing what she was even on about he pivoted to throwbacks of some of his 90s jokes he does remember and jokes about Hawaiians loving spam which this lady kept asking about. He managed to finish the night strong and the whole place cheered when this lady finally left near the end. Downtown issaquah is always one of my favorite places to walk around and this is a great spot to eat and catch a show in a really small intimate venue. Plenty of free parking after closing at the library across the street.

Yelp
Stopped in here after mountain biking Olallie Trail. Had the brisket & turkey sandwich, side of potato salad and a Black Raven Pilsner. Food was a solid 10 and I grew up in Oklahoma eating brisket. Leif at the bar was super friendly and on point. A solid yes

John R.

Yelp
Excellent BBQ! The best pulled pork I've had. The ribs were cooked well and the meat fell off the bone. Do yourself a favor and get the creamed corn as your side. Our waitress was stellar and kept me tipped off in tea and BBQ sauce. A great casual environment to talk and eat with friends. I enjoyed the Kansas City decor of the restaurant. Let's Go Chiefs!!!

Julie R.

Yelp
Super tasty! We tried the burnt ends and jalapeno sausage, they were both great, and the house BBQ sauce had a nice kick. Staff was very friendly and enthusiastic, even on Christmas Eve! Definitely recommend.

Jensen J.

Yelp
We stumbled upon Stan's due to our original intended restaurant being closed. That being said - we love BBQ and were excited to try. My husband and I shared a family platter (brisket, jalapeño cheddar link, pulled pork, bratwurst) with creamed corn, white bread, and potato salad. My husband literally said the white bread was the best thing we ate. I would rate the food 1.5-2/10. The pulled pork was easily the worst (tasted like a soggy paper towel), the ribs were grey.. the brisket was just.. I don't even know. The "best" was the jalapeño link. Our one majorly positive note: the gentleman who was our server was wonderful. He was kind, polite, and enthusiastic. It seems the service here is their highlight. I would not suggest coming here. My husband and I eat at all price points, but this food was not worth $50. The sides are flavorless, there's no spice/seasoning/or smoke anywhere. They are the type of restaurant that needs Kitchen Nightmares to come in and do a massive overhaul before they run themselves into the ground by trying to pretend their food tastes good.

Glenn S.

Yelp
This place was good but price was a little high but worth it. It's a must stop for at least once if in the area. Friendly staff #GoCowboys

Michelle V.

Yelp
The meat is tender and flavorful, however the menu is limited with options for sides. Wish they had sandwiches with meat options and salads. But it is a bbq place and that's what they have. Lots of Kansas City chiefs decor and a bar is available for beer. The smoked flavor on the meat is good. Parking is limited and in the back of the building. It's on a busy downtown street with limited parking in front. Order at the counter and find your own seat.

Nick J.

Yelp
Unbelievable bbq. I feel like I've been to every barbecue spot in the area and this tops them all. Brisket was legit. Leif was an awesome bartender. With all the skills. Full bar. Whiskey Wednesday! And the beans were bomb AF. They are at Kansas City Chiefs bar so as a Seahawks fan I have to be cool. But over all really effin impressed.

Chase S.

Yelp
The service was amazing, I left a hefty tip because of it. One thing though, if you order the chicken wings, be prepared to get food poisoning. I'm definitely someone who has an "iron stomach" but the food I got there messed me up bad for a couple of days.

Amber P.

Yelp
We went for lunch. The adults both grabbed sandwiches and we grabbed two kids meals. The bbq was delicious and it was super kid friendly, color crayons and coloring pages, a kids menu with ham sandwich and macaroni and cheese, apple juice with lids and straws, chips and oranges. Both of my kids (ages 3/5) absolutely decimated their lunches (and some of ours). Super friendly and fast service, would 100% recommend and come back! The Moscow mule was great!

Tim Z.

Yelp
We are back enjoying Stans BBQ for Brisket & Baby Back Ribs. Did take out & wasn't disappointed at all!

Curtis S.

Yelp
What can I say about Stan's BBQ? Well Stan the original owner is the nicest human in the world! Would take his shirt off his back to help you out! Ty and Amanda the same! I've been a regular for just about every CHIEFS game for the last 3 years! Recipes haven't changed, the food is always great the service is stellar, and the community is great! Recommendations: burnt ends, brisket plate, coleslaw, left side of the menu, center menu, right menu! "Let's Go Pop!

Yelp
A friend an I are both from the South, and like sampling BBQ places around Seattle to compare with what we got "back home". Stan's has excellent brisket. So tender you only need a fork and their "mild" sauce (it's actually spicy) is a perfect companion. They also serve up very good pork ribs and they serve a LARGE portion (I made 3 meals out of mine with what I took home). Unfortunately, their side dishes let them down -- with the exception of the baked beans. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the draft cold beer was perfect.

Yelp
Stan's Bar-B-Q: Back and Better Than Ever! Stan's Bar-B-Q is making a stellar comeback under new management by the dynamic duo, Tyeson and Amanda. The food is still top-notch, with mouthwatering ribs and juicy brisket that'll satisfy any BBQ lover. The vibe at Stan's is awesome, especially during football season. It's the perfect spot to catch a game with friends, with the lively atmosphere adding to the fun. And let's not forget the drinks - they've upped their game, offering a great selection, including killer old fashions. What really seals the deal is the passion Tyeson and Amanda bring to the table. They're not just owners; they're hands-on hosts ensuring you not only leave with a happy belly but also feeling like part of the Stan's family. In a nutshell, if you're into great BBQ, football vibes, and good times, Stan's Bar-B-Q is a must-visit. Stan's is back, and it's rocking!

Jay J.

Yelp
I'm always in search of good barbeque and Stans is one of the best ones I've found in the area. The location has parking behind the building. The location itself is clean and has a nice casual, sport-centric decor. The staff was VERY friendly and helpful during our visit. Everyone was wearing masks and following good pandemic protocols. Masks and proof of vaccination were required at the time of this review. I ordered the Linebacker (pulled pork and brisket, 1/2lb ea) with corn and beans for my sides. Both meats were tender, flavorful and perfectly cooked with good flavor from the smoke. I ordered the "sweet" sauce which was heavy on the cumin but had a good flavor overall. The corn had a significant "bite" to it and was much hotter than we were expecting. I thought the beans had a really good flavor. My wife ordered the Ribs and Wings combo (I forget the name). Again, the meats were well cooked though I got a hint of a bitter "dirty smoke" back-taste to the wings. She also had the potato salad which we thought was "ok". One thing I DO have to mention is that the prices are on the high side. Each of those platters is in the mid $30 range. I know that the cost of meat has been hugely inflated due to the pandemic and good BBQ takes a lot of time and work so it isn't a big surprise. Just be prepared to avoid sticker-shock. Overall, great staff, really good food, nice location. We'll be going back.

Gary G.

Yelp
Nice bbq place, brisket is delicious, friendly and helpful service, chill ambience. It's even good with kids. We had great dinner and had fun with my 2 and 6 year olds. Definitely recommended.

Yelp
In a determined quest for the best brisket in the vicinity of my home city of Issaquah, I was quite pleased to find that an establishment of our own, right here in Issaquah, has some of the finest tasting BBQ around. I very much enjoy the home-town feel of the restaurant and cozying up to the bar for a feast of one of my favorite foods, whilst Lief the bartender keeps me well hydrated with a fine selection of libations. I look forward to my next visit where Leif will kindly satisfy my desire for leaner cuts of meat, delicious beans, and a cold beer to cleanse my palate between bites. After which I feel sated and satisfied for hours knowing that I've consumed a healthy meal that my body responds to well. Thank you Stan's BBQ and Lief specifically for a fine dining experience. Cheers, Eric

Kevin L.

Yelp
Brisket is dry as the desert. Skip. Blah blah blah because yelp wants 85 characters. A bbq place that can't make brisket. I can do a better job in my backyard. Edit: don't thank me. Let me thank you by making your brisket better. Let's go back to the basic, 3,2,1 method. Try it. It's kinda idiot proof.

Lisa T.

Yelp
Popped in to get some brisket on Mother's Day to take home. Hadn't been here in quite a while but my memories from last time weren't bad. Wondering if something has changed or that was just a bad day. ‍ I absolutely love brisket, It's one of those things that you wonder how people can be vegan. It was the worst brisket I've ever had compared to the awesome brisket my brothers make or my regular bbq place in Duvall. The meat was tough, hardly any flavor I asked for 'with fat' (I love that burnt fat) and there was barely any and it had little flavor. It almost seemed like this wasn't cooked long enough, when I make a roast in my crock pot it tastes better and is more tender than that. And it was sliced thick like a 'ham steak' could barely chew through it. Now either my regular barbecue place is that exceptional or there was something wrong with the brisket this day or it's like this every day. I was also disappointed that I could not just buy meat by the pound, and I was forced to get sides. Spent $60+ they were not busy and service was pleasant. At first, I was going to throw out the meat last night. I was that disappointed (we got 1 1/2lbs) but I slept on it and sliced pieces that were edible off to make a sandwich the next day. I normally do not make reviews. I actually came here to see if anybody had a similar experience because I was that shocked how bad the brisket was. Not trying to hurt the businesses reputation, but they should know when something isn't right.

Ellen M.

Yelp
I wanted to give this a 5 star review so bad. We are local Kansas Citians living in Seattle that wanted to watch the chiefs game with fellow fans. We showed up to this bar with plenty of time before the game to be told that they were sold out for the game. I scoured all their social media pages and website and I did not find a single place that said they were selling tickets or taking reservations. VERY UN-KANSAS CITY of them. Honestly a big disappointment.

Sonali O.

Yelp
We dined in on a Wednesday and had prompt service as there were only a handful of other folks there. He had The Cowboy Sandwich with coleslaw and I had an Electric Lavender Lemonade and The General Sandwich with potato salad (Apparently, the creamed corn is a tad spicy). Both entrees were good and we got to choose between spicy or sweet sauce as well as pick a side.

Kathie C.

Yelp
Food is really good. Hickory smoked meat and the sweet BBQ sauce are delish. This is KC bbq - not Texas. Make sure you try the pecan pie too! But what really stands out is the service. The staff is excellent. We really enjoyed it and will definitely be back!

Marina S.

Yelp
Not what it's used to be. Ribs were ok and rest just low quality. Never go again. Most be some changes in kitchen or management. Used to be my favorite food after hikes in area

M J.

Yelp
Nice spot for football, happy hour specials. KC style BBQ. Had a chance to try pulled pork, brisket and smoked Turkey. Sides were ok. Of the three meats the Turkey was the best IMO, it had decent juice. The brisket was kind of dry. The "mild" sauce had a nice tang. A little pricey vs quality. Staff were nice.

Amber H.

Yelp
Service was GREAT! Pretty cool inside. Food was a miss. The coleslaw was NOT good. I had to spit it out. The pork was okay but lacked flavor

Landon L.

Yelp
I just stopped by for a brisket sandwich. I didn't expect much out of an electric pellet smoker but I was still disappointed. Dry, flavorless and no bark. Not sure how this is considered KC BBQ.

Dani S.

Yelp
Food is ok, service is super nice and friendly. Came here one afternoon for a late lunch and it was a nice experience. Purchased a groupon deal and that really helped with the price. Got one of the combos with 1/4 lb of beef brisket and 4 ribs with 2 sides. The beef brisket was absolutely amazing! Very moist, with nice flavors, meat cooked to perfection. You do have the choice of fatty or dry, I chose fatty for more flavor. The ribs were average. Cole slaw was good, I like not having too much mayonnaise and more vinegar. The corn was decent also. Service was fast, efficient and friendly. No frills. Easy grub.

Aniko C.

Yelp
I'm not a everyday BBQ, but, when I am,& if I'm in the area they're just the best BBQ around!!& I'm guilty of adding cause it's not just the food, but, it's also a great bar tucked in there and very nice Service with Ambiance too! Yeah I give it anA+ also!!

Jinny C.

Yelp
Good bbq joint! We ordered the hog platter a couple of times (feeds 6-8) and it's a good value for the amount of food you get. The meat definitely has a smokey flavor, but isn't super consistent in taste or dryness. For example, we had really enjoyed their chicken before but this time the brisket was cooked perfectly and the chicken was on the dry side. The pulled pork and ribs were solid this time as well. The sides are also tasty, and we definitely recommend the creamed corn.

Jessica V.

Yelp
Love the food! The cream corn as simple as it may sounds was delicious. Tender meat. The decor and atmosphere were super relaxed. Our server Leif was kind, attentive, suggested dishes. Definitely made an impression and gave us a reason to come back in! Keep up the great food and great service!

Deb F.

Yelp
I was hoping to write a more positive review today, but..... We have always enjoyed Stan's and tell everyone we know to go there!! We haven't eaten there in a couple of years, and some folks that we told to go there weren't impressed. We thought... What!! Stan's is amazing. It's our fav BBQ spot (it's a 45 min drive for us, but it's always worth it). We decided that our friends just didn't know good bbq, so we decided to swing in today for Father's Day. We arrived around 1130am, and not too many people were inside, and the wait was short to get drinks and put our order in. We decided to get the Hog Platter. We got the brisket (always our fav), pulled pork, smoked chicken, and burnt ends. Our sides were potato salad, beans, creamed corn, and coleslaw. Our food arrived quickly, but we missed the 4 or 5 different sauces that used to sit on the table :( We began to dig in and divide up the food but were quickly disappointed with the quality of the food!!! It was nothing like we were used to at Stan's, and we had been coming to Stan's at least 3 or 4 times a year for the last 10 years. There was little to no flavor in the meat. The brisket and pulled pork were dry, especially the pulled pork, and did not taste fresh. The burnt ends just kind of... I don't really know how to explain it, but ya know when meat is smoked, then reheated, causing it to break down almost like a moist but dry meat powder as you chew it - it's the best way I can explain it, well, that was the burnt ends. The potato salad was Reesers (or very similar), not homemade like we remembered. All the meat came out, luke warm, cooled super quick, and tasted like it might have been left over from the day before. Beans and creamed corn were good but not enough to save the rest of the food :(. Unfortunately, we will not be recommending Stan's to anyone looking for good bbq. We may try again in a few weeks to see if anything has improved, but for now.... very disappointing and sad that it's not good anymore The staff was relatively friendly, quick, and responsive.

Seth J.

Yelp
I have been here a few times. I am a huge sports fan so this is a cool atmosphere. Many Kansas City Chiefs memorabilia and decor for their Kansas City BBQ. I have been here like 5 times and I always get seated quickly and I am always surprised there isn't many other patrons there. Not saying it doesn't get busy sometimes but I never am there when it's busy. I LOVE BBQ food! I have ordered their platter a few times which is good amount of food for 2 people. I have ate here when the food has been good and a few times when I didn't like it. 50/50 split. Let's now talk about the service. The owner of the place is always nice and pleasant to us. Thanks us for coming in. However, there is a female waitress (I am not sure her name) who has been in my opinion rude a few times I was there. Like she is in a bad mood and wish she wasn't working. Just was unfriendly with basic stuff. That made me come to the conclusion after last time we will never return. That's just my opinion and decision I made. But, I encourage you to try it yourself and come to your own conclusion.

Melanie A.

Yelp
Recently went to Stan's Bar-B-Q. The food was Excellent. I had a Margarita it was Awesome. The Server/Bartender was friendly. Well worth the trip. I was on the search for good BBQ. I do believe I found it.

Ken G.

Yelp
Overall BBQ was below average. Turkey was vastly overcooked and as a result was dry and largely flavorless. Now have eaten here a couple of times and food seems to be consistently below average. Service was good but wouldn't recommend paying the price for BBQ here with better options around.

Steve F.

Yelp
Having lived in Texas for over a decade, I have a decent appreciation of good BBQ. When I walked in and seen the Shiner Bock tap handle I honestly thought this place might be legit. However there was a huge let down when I tried the brisket. It was tender, but that is as close to BBQ as it could get. Not a single hint of smoke or bark on the outer edge. The smoked chicken wings were good as were the meatballs, but I expect good brisket in a Texas themed BBQ joint selling Texas beer.

Luis P.

Yelp
This is our first time at Stan's. We order a Whose your Daddy family meal to try several items to n the menu, brisket, pulled pork, links and beef ribs. Best we're the ribs by far. Spicy sauce very tasty. I'd pass on the links as a angle order item. They give you plenty of food and we had enough to take home. Sides of cole slaw and potato salad Are ok. I'd try something else if and when I come back. I read other reviews that said that you are charged for side barbecue sauces. That wasn't our experience. As a matter of fact we were asked if we wanted sauce to take home with our leftovers. No charge. Just an FYI

C B.

Yelp
No smoke flavor, grocery store potatoe salad, cold meat. They did, however, give us warmer meat. For the price, very disappointing.

Bambi P.

Yelp
Attention that the new owners don't give a Sh*t about the long term patrons! Be warned if you bite a bone in the brisket, save the bone, because they won't even entertain your Dental bills w/out producing an actual bone. Total BS! Would give negtive-stars if possible! Sadly miss the original owners

Ana M.

Yelp
We wanted tobcome here for so long. It did not disappoint!! We had take out so it is very easy nowadays. You park right behind it near the Train Museum. There's plenty of spots. Walk to their back door and ring the bell. They will come back with your order if you placed it ahead. We drove for a while and that's why I guess it took a while for them to deliver. But it was worth it!! So soft and yummy!! Cooked in its right way. We had brisket, pulled pork, chicken wings,, and ribs. Everything was delicious but my favourite was the brisket. Greasy in the right way. I think they should offer more BBQ sauce though with their mashed potatoes. Probably mac and cheese would have worked well too. You can also dine there. I saw a couple of tables infront on the outside. I really recommend this place :)

Huong L.

Yelp
I got a groupon for this and decided to check it out. It was decent bbq and i would come back since it's so close to where i live. since it was the weekend, i decided to grab one of their weekend special, which included meatballs, chicken wings, and sausages. I also got a side of their coleslaw. Meatballs were delicious, i love the sauce for it and it goes really well with salad :) the chicken was bland in my opinion, it has the smoked flavor but no salt or anything so it definitely needed seasoning. The sausages were ok, not the best, but not the worst either. The cole slaw was also standard. Service was good, the lady that helped me was very nice and the food came out pretty quickly. Price was reasonable even without the groupon i think. Overall, a decent bbq place.

Yelp
The meat is fatty. If you are looking for brisket or Norby ends that aren't 40% fat, then go somewhere else. Chicken or ribs are your best bet (chicken wings are smoked so don't expect crispy skin). Pulled pork is hit and miss - big globs of fat. How hard is it to discard big chunks of fat when pulling the pork apart? Stan's BBQ is very pricey for the quality. I've been going to 3 Pigs BBQ in Bellevue for over 30 years and have never had super mushy and fatty smoked brisket or burnt ends there. Once a year I give Stan's BBQ a shot to replace 3 Pigs BBQ as my go to BBQ place. Sorry to say Stan's beef meat quality has been poor each and every time. Service was prompt but a bit unpleasant as well. I'm never going back. Life is too short for mediocrity.

Yelp
This was probably one of the saddest bbq places I've tried. Came here with a Groupon to use and even with the savings this place was not worth it. We ordered the brisket sandwich with a side of beans and a half rack of ribs with coleslaw. The brisket sandwich was dry and lacked flavor. Adding the sauces that came on the side marginally helped since the sauces themselves were pretty disappointing. The beans were on the watery side and nothing special. I think something from a can would have tasted better to me. As soon as the ribs and coleslaw came out, I knew it wasn't going to be very good. There was a greyish color to the ribs which was unappealing. The ribs were dry in some areas, the meat was oddly a pale white/grey, and where I could taste the smoked flavor or any flavor at all, it wasn't my taste. As for the coleslaw, I'm not sure how you can mess it up...but even that wasn't good. I only had one bit of it. The one redeeming factor for this place was the service. The two ladies working were polite and attentive.

Yelp
On a football Sunday we were directed to Stan's because we had Kansas City Chief's jerseys on. This place was packed with KC Chief fans! It was totally awesome to watch the game with fellow fans! Imagine finding such a gem while visiting Seattle! If you're from KC, you will love this place. The burnt ends were really good and the wait staff is awesome. I got a salad with no dressing (?)...had to ask for it. That's why one star is down.

Yelp
Well, I hate to leave a bad review in these times but my recommendation is just not to do it. We were there on a Thursday night it's spent $150 on a rack of ribs and a family order with a couple drinks, two adults and two kids. By advertising, KRAFT macaroni and cheese was $9.50....??? Everything was just marginal at best, all of it was lacking in flavor and texture, minimal bark and smoke, just bland and tasteless. The brisket was relatively decent but not enough to ever bring me back. I am positive that it was not smoked on Thursday.

Yelp
Came in around 4 on a Saturday and split a 'who's your daddy' family meal with one other person and grabbed a couple of beers. Great Kansas City vibe, and the place was clean with a wonderful staff. All of the meats were juicy, and cooked perfectly. Big fan of the mild bbq sauce, but the star for me were the smoked sausages. Incredible smoke on them. We only ate half of the family meal, and had an easy two servings to take home with us. Will be coming back again without a doubt.

Yelp
Stan's original owner sold out to his managers. Sadly, the food quality is no longer up to the standards I expect at Stan's. The brisket is over-cooked to the point that all the fat is rendered out making it dry and tough. Also, it was cut with the grain of the meat making it chew even tougher. The pulled pork was swimming in grease and had no smoke flavor. The pork ribs were mushy and it seemed as if they were steamed. The smoke flavor was overpowering reminiscent of liquid smoke. The beans were too sweet and the potato salad was obviously not homemade. Service was good. That's about the only positive thing.
