"Stan’s drinks served in mason jars are awesome; the patio that spills out onto a busy street is as dangerous as it is awesome; the loaded nachos are awesome; and the people are loud and inebriated and awesome. Stan’s is a place where people from different backgrounds, countries, and creeds come together to scream proud, unashamed, and unabashed at mostly underage athletes on television (at least in March’s case). And that is a huge compliment. Stan’s, put simply, is awesome." - Alaena Hostetter

This is one of the coolest places in Dallas, no, Texas! It's the epitome of a dive bar, but the food is awesome, and there is an incredible selection of beers on tap. TVs are everywhere, and they're very accommodating on finding what you want to watch. If I lived in the area, this would be my go-to spot. I'll be back next time I'm in the area!

Was here on a random Tuesday with a group. They have $3 burgers that day and it was good. Like how they have random deals. Its pretty open space also

Google
Stan’s Blue Note is the rare entertainment dive bar that gets a flat out five star rating. Staff was truly wonderful, welcoming, kind, and hilarious. The prices were reasonable. The AC was kicking and it was very comfortable. They had plenty of bar games, shuffleboard, and a lot of space to spread out. Both front and back patios were comfortable.

No one ever came up and asked if we wanted anything. Would look at us and walk by. From Oklahoma won’t recommend this place to anyone. Left after one drink.

I've been to Stan’s twice.  The first time mid-week just as they opened. Actually, I wandered in a few minutes before the official opening time and the bartender, Ericka, generously allowed me to hang out. She was gracious, friendly and efficient.  Besides Ericka I was mostly impressed by the size of the bar, the vast selection of beers on tap, and the mellow vibe. The second time I went was on a Sunday early afternoon. I was a bit concerned about finding a seat at the bar because of football but I was surprised to find only about a dozen folks inside.  I ordered the bean and cheese nachos - only 5$! - and they were very good. As was my Deep Ellum IPA mmm. The male bartender spent quite a bit of time talking to his girlfriend, who occupied a seat by herself at the end of the bar. This could be a great bar but on my two visits it isn't quite there yet.

Great bar to watch whatever game you are interested in. Good vibe and ice cold beers. Good variety on tap as well.

Google
Love this bar ! We have a lot of favorites at Stan's but John is at the top ! So nice, friendly and on top of everything! Also my favorite food is the grilled chicken sandwich. The place is very big and has a nice patio in front but don't miss out on the back patio, it feels way more private. Stan's has my favorite pool table in Dallas. It's in good shape and level lol.

Google
There is dust still there from 20 years ago. But that's ok, cause that's my dust. Still a great place saying out decent drinks and there's no need to change

Yelp
Tuesday burger day is the best day! $3.99 burger (4.99 for cheeseburger) with the purchase of a drink! When I tell you I dream about this burger... it is so good. The quality is just wow. It comes out super fast, laidback vibes (think dead bar besides regulars) but honestly come with some friends & make it a thing and it gets to be super fun!! The one girl who works is kinda forgetful and absent minded, but she recognizes that and tries really hard. I will say the auto gratuity kinda sucks, especially When the bill is around $10, but it's whatever I guess!

Michaela P.

Yelp
Tuesday is burger night. Friendly neighborhood dive bar with a variety of beers on tap (although the bartender can't tell you what they are). Full bar. Burgers are good. Service is lackadaisical at best.

Yelp
Stan's is a great place to bring your football watch crew for the big college game if you want to be in the middle of the action. It's pure sports bar ambiance, and it gets loud and crowded on big game days. Get here early to snag a table! There are three indoor bar areas, a large open front patio and an enclosed back patio. The main drink here is beer, including pitchers. There are limited choices of hard seltzer, cider and wine available. They have appetizers, burgers and other bar food but I have never had any of their food because I have Celiac Disease. There is a free parking lot around the corner from the bar but it fills up quickly. Street parking is available on the streets around the bar. Women's bathroom is a bit grungy but there is always toilet paper, soap and paper towels. When there is a big game, it can get very crowded and you will need to push your way to the bar to get your drinks. They also add an automatic 20% gratuity to your tab. The smoke can get pretty thick on the back patio.

Yelp
I ordered chicken tenders covered in Buffalo sauce. I had to wait 45 minutes for COLD TENDERS AND FRIES. I went back up to the bar to see where my order was and it had been sitting behind the bar for 30 minutes. Everything was so cold. I still ate it all because I was hungry but straight garbage. My friend who ordered with me had his delivered to the table but they didn't deliver mine. I typically like this place but this was trash.

Mike W.

Yelp
Got there early for the AFC Divisional game and the waitress wasn't in yet. The bartender did a great job covering... Bartender's service was fast and she was super nice! Food was great! My wife and I are keto so we wanted the meatball sandwich minus the sandwich. They were able to accommodate and put the meatballs in a bowl - they were awesome! Atmosphere was super fun - had stuff to giveaway, game was loud enough to hear but not overly loud. Loved it. Waitress came in and that's the only thing I was disappointed with. I went to the bar to order a drink and she stopped me and said she'd get my drink. It never came. I went back up to the bar to order my drink and asked the waitress again for my drink and to close out. 10 min later - nothing. And to be fair, it was busy but every time I looked back to see what was going on, she was just hanging by the bar. Other than that, it was great and I'd definitely go back and order from the bar! ;)

Eric B.

Yelp
Every time I play Sticky by Drake they skip the song. I pay to play it and they won't refund me. It's been 3 times tonight. Ridiculous

Luke P.

Yelp
This place is awesome. It's a go-to place for Dallas locals and will continue to come here. However, the wait staff/bartenders are unbelievable. I continue to be disrespected after coming here time and time again. Please and thank you doesn't even get you anywhere. The place has great vibes, but you will be let down waiting for drinks or food time and time again. Wish it was better because the place is great, but I expect the best. Be better Stan's. @blonde bartender do better.

Sarah J.

Yelp
Came here to watch Thursday Night Football, it was the opener of the Stars season so they didn't feature the game but were kind enough to put it on for us. Staff were incredibly friendly, classic beer and good food you can expect from a dive bar. Recommend the fried pickles and mini corn dogs.

Turts M.

Yelp
Chill atmosphere laid back vibes. Cool bartenders high recommend this place if you want to get out an have a relaxing time.

Diana V.

Yelp
A great place to watch football or hang out! Typical dive bar, very laidback and fun. Caters to both the young and old! I'll definitely be back! Also seems like a great place to have a birthday or celebration- lots of seating for big groups! They also played some BOPS, my drunk friends and I were having a blast and we stayed until close!

Hayley M.

Yelp
Stan's is a fun, lively, casual spot in a great neighborhood to watch college football (or any sport). They have TONS of TVs, 2 huge bars, and 3 rooms with lots of seating inside. You can pretty much count on whichever game you want to watch being played, which is why I've been coming here for so long. However, I was very disappointed and shocked yesterday when a bartender changed the channel on the only TV in the entire bar broadcasting a Pac12 game, to a game that was being broadcasted on 4 other TVs - in the same room - with 2 minutes left to go in the Pac12 game. This was the game I came here to watch and had watched for the past 3.5 hours with my friends. I asked 3 different bartenders and the security guy to help me get it changed back and no one was helpful. In fact they were all incredibly rude and said they couldn't help me. I left the bar in tears and I didn't get to see my team finish our most important game of the season. I fully understand this is Texas and 90% of customers here are there to watch Texas/SEC games, but since they have so many TVs, why not broadcast every network? Put the big games on the big TVs, smaller games on the smaller TVs, and definitely don't change any games with 2 minutes left for no good reason. That should be against the law (of dive bars).

Andy C.

Yelp
Good food, drink and atmosphere. Great place to watch sporting events, here to watch the UEFA Euro Final (delayed to COVID). We had the spaghetti and meatballs, pepper jack burger and mini-corn dogs and all were perfect. Dozens of beers on tap

Zachary A.

Yelp
This place may be deemed The Dallas Sports Bar, but outside the TVs seemed more like a college hotspot to me. Definitely greater than 50% occupancy during a Stars game. Masks seemed recommended coming in the door and are very much gone as soon as you get a seat and start standing and watching. Seats are close by and tons of people standing shoulder to shoulder. Uncomfortable during the crisis. Beer list is about 40 but expect no true craft beer. There are enough IPA and cider and of course liquor to appease everyone though. Indoor and outdoor areas. Seems like dogs allowed so that's a plus. I guess in the past this place is exactly what you wanted from a college bar. But times have changed and not sure they got the memo. Buyer beware if you come at a prime time or during a game.

Al P.

Yelp
Pretty solid place, good drink selection and what looks like a tasty menu (we didn't eat) I thought this was one of the friendliest staffs I've been served by especially since it has a big time locals vibe. Would of been 5 stars if there was more available parking in the area.

Adam W.

Yelp
Best sports bar on Greenville, super laid back and bartenders can make you anything you ask for, food is great,My chicken sandwich was juicy and crispy the bacon was the icing on the cake,I'm also addicted to their fries, love the seosining,I'll be coming here again and again!

James D.

Yelp
Jessica is the absolute best! For the moment I ordered my first drink she was on the lookout for me all night. If I needed a refill, some food, or a little motivation to stay (aka more beer) she was always making sure I had a a fantastic night. Great example of what makes Stan's great.

Yelp
After going to stans for over 25 years, for the 1st time, i find myself very disappointed. went during happy hour for the food specials to keep this short, there was a small discrepancy on the bill, price not matching the menu, or the price the waitress told me before ordering. the money wasn't a big deal, but out of principle, i just wanted an explanation - e.g. was the menu out of date and peices went up, or was something keyed in wrong, etc. i attempted to asked the waitress about it after the bill came, but it seems that's not acceptable behavior for a stans customer. my complaint here isn't about the smell price discrepancy, its about the the employees attitude. in short, the waitress gave me 2 options : a) pay it and don't question a price discrepancy, or b) she (the waitress) will cover the entire tab and charge me $0, and i no longer welcome there, and should never return. no one else there seemed to give a hoot, seemed they all preferred i never return. i paid, and tipped, on the full (incorrectly high) amount because as a 25 year customer, i wasn't quite ready, though seriously tempted, to give up on my old stomping grounds, though still not sure I'm welcome back. all i can say to others is go for the drinks, not the food. if you want food, don't pay much attention to the listed menu prices, or ask the waitress pricing, just expect to pay whatever they say it rings up as... stans has never been known for their service, or food - it's always been a bit of a dive bar, by design, and that's actually it's "charm". so i kind of blame myself for for turning my recent visits into a food place, and expecting a service level and 'give a hoot' level on par with closer to a restaurant rather than a bar...

Danay C.

Yelp
This bar has so much potential but unfortunately it has an abandoned feel to it. The food is subpar and a lot of their beer are unavailable. If you're concerned about COVID, don't even step foot in here. They don't sanitize tables, and while the employees do wear their masks, there are people walking around with their masks off and the staff doesn't reinforce for the public to wear theirs. Only reason I'm giving them 2 stars is because the bartenders are very nice and literally doing 3 jobs in one (bartending, taking food orders and taking them to tables) kudos to them for stepping up to the plate while being short staffed (which is what it felt like).

Morgan S.

Yelp
Any lower rating denouncing the cleanliness or quality of Stan's is false. Come here for the chill vibe and good crowd and stay for the good beer and live music. Always a great experience whether it be a Friday Saturday or Sunday

Tiara L.

Yelp
On Saturdays my rugby team thoroughly enjoys coming to Stan's for our post game drinks and food. I love the cheese fries personally. They've come a long way with the menu and the quality of their food in the past couple of years!

Dimitrios C.

Yelp
Great bar atmosphere. Came on a monday night football to watch my raiders upset the saints... I forgot the stars were playing that night. Huge dallas fan base but they played both games evenly on the tvs obviously they had the sound on for the dallas game. There were doing a drink special for all texas liquor and drafts which was good my my ipa liking. They had good selection on beer and good bar food. Service was good. The advertizing happy hour on the website was not recognized. I was disappointed and would like to see them not false advertize like that or at least update the website accordingly. The burger was average. For the sampler platter we chose mozzarella sticks, fried pickles and chicken tenders... Overall Atmosphere 5 Service and attentiveness 5 Food 4 Worth it for the price 4 Overall could be 4 stars A big negative goes to the smell. The bar smelt like musty stale beer, reminded me the next day after my high school parties. After a beer i went noseblind to it. Also the barstools were not really comfortable and some of them were ripped and cracked but oh well. Its a pandemic not the time to spend money on refurbishing your bar.

Juan D.

Yelp
Went there and I was happy to see the place still smells like raw sewage. It was better when you could smoke inside because it covered up the sewage smell, but now it permeates throughout the bar.

Marie Z.

Yelp
The server Kari was the worst I've ever experienced. She was rude, condescending and had terrible customer service skills. Our cups were empty and she never came back to take our food order even after we asked her to. Extremely disappointing.

David L.

Yelp
Food: 2 Decor: 2 Service: 2 I came here on a UYE to watch the Dallas Mavs play. The place was packed, but we had a table reserved. Service was slow, and I had to walk myself over to the bar to request food. The food itself was pretty average bar food http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/Yl9EeG6-yY2XkmFF_WX09w?userid=2fN8mN7uUjOw-QqtcgYqXQ (chicken finger BLT), so don't get your hopes up. There's also no parking nearby, so I had to park in the residential area a couple blocks away and walk over.

G R.

Yelp
This place is great! We came in after a long day at work and discovered probably one of the coolest, most attentive, & most personable bartenders we've had in a while. He introduced himself as Ron & offered us menus so that we could order something to eat. He took the time to explain his recommendations & also explained the happy hour specials. Give this place a shot & you'll be glad that you did.

Werner M.

Yelp
Great dive. Try their spaghetti and meatballs on Monday. Certainly helps that it is just down the road from our house

Randall M.

Yelp
Great place to watch games and mingle. Special thanks to Travis and Erica for their excellent service and attitudes. Will always be a customer which I have been for 60 years. Yes you did read that correctly, 60 years!

Shannon L.

Yelp
I have been going to Stans almost every week since moving to Texas three years ago. It's a classic dive bar with the essentials (food, great beer list, pool table, etc.). The food is seriously AMAZING--the Jimmy's Italian sandwich, burger, quesadilla and mozzarella sticks are among my favorites. The bartenders are so friendly, there's karaoke on Thursdays, and this is a great place to watch football. Can't recommend enough and will continue to come back!

Jessica K.

Yelp
This bar includes a one size fits all- if you like to wear polos, you're white, and straight (or pretending to be) perfect spot. Otherwise, not friendly to LGBTQ, uninteresting, and has toxic masculinity written all over it. My gay friend was assaulted in the line. Any more questions ask. Thanks.

Joshua H.

Yelp
Hadnt been here in about 5 years. Walked in with a buddy during the day on Saturday to have a few beers. Place was filled with college football fans. Sat at the bar and had the tequila queso (delicious) and the bacon burger (phenomenal). We kicked a few back and had such a good time we stayed longer than we intended. The guy who was running the place Miles was a nice guy and always on point. I will be coming back especially when they play Stars games here. Food is really good here. Parking is kinda tricky. There is parking in the back but you have to walk a little bit but it's all good. The place is totally worth it.

Jenessa D.

Yelp
Stans is awesome UNLESS you sit in the area next to the big screens...which is ironic because they tout themselves as as sports bar. We've been here more than once where large tables get service and the smaller tables get passed over without so much as a greeting...and don't expect any kind of service. Tonight, after trying once again, our server walked by over 15 times (we counted because we were hoping for just a pitcher of beer) without acknowledging us in any way. The service is absolutely unacceptable. So, if you want to be ignored over and over in an insulting way, go to Stan's.

Demetria C.

Yelp
The staff here is soooo nice! I go here sometimes with my dog and they always bring her a bowl of water and treats. The food is really good and they always have great drink specials.

Punake O.

Yelp
Mindy served us today and our entire group is so pleased w how warm and catering she has been. Wings and beer have filled us and for such a great price! Thank you for hosting the Dallas Harlequins Women's Rugby Club! We love our time here, always!

Maxime G.

Yelp
I love this place Very good beer Very good price People are friendly Miles, Erica, clay are super

Jack C.

Yelp
The Bloody Mary is a must have when visiting Stan's Blue Note. They serve it at all hours of the day so you can order it whenever you please

Paul C.

Yelp
This place has been consistently awesome since I can remember (12 fuzzy years?). No frills, old school sports bar, lots of beers on tap but perfect for cheap bottles, shots, and strong drinks. Service is exceptional. Food is pretty good too. It is so nice to have Stan's while the rest of Dallas is taken over by dooshy bars, craft cocktails, "mixologists", fancy food, and terrible "it's obvious I don't want to be working here" service. A couple secret hangout spots too which make it even better.

Bill T.

Yelp
Standard hangout for all my heathen friends. Spaghetti night on Monday $6.99 can't be beat. You can also get a real Jimmy's Italian sausage sandwich late night here. It's the best I've ever had. $8.99 and comes with fries. TV scene is great for sports.

Kristie A.

Yelp
Stan's is still a favorite place of mine to watch football. We always try to sit at the same table, and I always order the mini corn dogs. Sometimes they need to be cooked a little longer, but they are usually good. Service is still pretty spot on! Stan's is just a good dive that always feels like home away from home since I've been going there for so many years. Not often enough to be a regular or even know who any of the weight staff are. Too bad about the Cowboys this year...I didn't get out to watch many games since I didn't want to be seen crying in public.

Erica R.

Yelp
So Im not one who yelps just to yelp but I thought this place deserves one. I've been to Stans many many times over the years and the place has made improvements. The local beer selection has definitely improved in the last several months. Both the options and styles to choose from. The food is great, Ive had bar snacks, salad and chicken. The food came out quickly and how it was ordered. The staff is friendly and the new manager is very attentive and always available. I will absolutely be frequenting Stans more often and have even turned some people on to it who had never been before. I can't forget to mention TVS!!! If sports are your thing give this place a try, you won't be disappointed.

Molly L.

Yelp
I just moved to the "M" streets and I have been looking for a good watering hole. I walked with my husband to Stan's hoping for a low key, d-bag and SMUtard free place. This is not it. It was full of popped collars and obviously underage girls drinking. This must be the place for college students to drink with out getting carded. Not my scene, ever. Also, it took 30 minutes for the waiter to bring us a beer.

Alyssa G.

Yelp
Stan's has a fun atmosphere with neon signs, sports stuff and taxidermy heads hanging everywhere. Their music was great and they have plenty of tv's for sports as well as fooseball, pool, darts, and more. The food was good, nothing special. I had a meatball sub that was hefty and yummy, something I'd definitely order again. Mom liked her turkey burger and my brother enjoyed the fried balogna, Dad said his burger was just fine. We came on Tuesday night for trivia and had a great time. There weren't many other people there but nbd, might've just been an off night. The trivia guy was funny and the questions were a good level of difficulty. I'll be back soon when we're able to sit out on the front patio!

Steve S.

Yelp
Stan's is a glorious neighborhood dive bar, stumblin' distance from my house. I've been a loyal patron for over 30 years, so I've see it grow from its original space, about the dimensions of a bowling lane, to its current spacious expanse, indoors and out. Food is quite solid for bar fare, and the tap beer is cold and cheap with something for everyone. You will likely dig Stan's- well worth a visit, if you've never been.

Mike M.

Yelp
Wow, can I give this place 0 stars? Showed up on march madness Thursday for the 1st rounds and the place was dead! The old woman behind the bar stated that it was because they are normally closed until 3pm. Ummm, hello, someone needs to market that they are open than somehow. D magazine stated this should be a place to go and watch the tournament. Apparently no one else thought so. So there was a nice older man who tried to get the tv and sound to work for a game I was trying to watch but to no avail, this is one of the best sports bars right??? Asked what the drink specials were and the old lady didn't know but she said ask me and she will look it up. Asked for laguanitas IPA and they were out. So here I am, a dead bar, no sound, rude old bartender, and the one beer I wanted they were out. I just said heck with this and left. If you can't get your "sports bar" to run like a sports bar, then what good is it.

Kersti E.

Yelp
This place has been around for what seems like forever. It's got a different vibe than the other bars on Greenville. It's paid back, has a come as you are type vibe and has awesome food and drinks. The food isn't just regular bar food, they actually have some awesome selections. My personal favorite is the BLT. Amazing beer choices, it's hard to decide sometimes. It's not expensive, they have really good specials on top of their already low pricing. The staff is so friendly and always seem to be in good spirits. The bartender Ron is amazing!! He's knowledgeable about pricing, options and can sling a good drink. Definitely recommend if you haven't been already!!!

Sarah S.

Yelp
My boss tells me every time I go to Dallas I must check out Stans! Well I finally did! It is the typical dive bar! Nothing fancy or precocious about this place! Great place for a few good beers! They have pool tables and shuffleboard too. I definitely think if I lived in Dallas I would be at the Stans frequently!

MaryAnne F.

Yelp
Dive bar that is a destination for college football. A pretty cool experience despite the place being packed from wall to wall. I didn't sit for the entirety of the game but still had a great time. The bartenders are magically attentive for the amount of patrons they cram in their like sardines. I was skeptical of ordering food but got the drunchies (aka drunk munchies) and the chicken tenders were worth every deep fried calorie.

Brian S.

Yelp
Best sports bar in Dallas. Absolutely love Felicity! Chicken tenders are unbelievable but don't let me get started on the pretzels.

Miguel B.

Yelp
What can I say about Stan's that hasn't been said before? Nothing... so I'll say it in Chinese: ME RIKEY A-ROT! To give you an idea, this was one of the first actual bars I visited on my Dallas Tour and I was pleasantly pleased with my experience. I really liked the spacious atmosphere... but what really got me was the nice elderly woman who was my bartender... She looked like any white person's grandmother serving beer to her grandchildren. I will call her "Sue." Now, I'm really not trying to be a dick or sarcastic because coming from L.A., I'm use to these high priced ho's, heffers, hee-haws, and hooleehoos as my bartenders. But Stan's keeps it real... real-ly pleasant and friendly. In short... "Sue" was a cool ass bitch. Things to Like: - Shuffle board (pay to play, $2 an hour) - Darts (regular or butt edition) -Fooz-Ball - Arcade games (golfing, hunting, bowling, naked photo hunt) - Big ass giant screens to make your head explode and pants wet from excitement while watching the Dallas Mavericks choke in the playoffs (again). - Great selection of Beers served in Mason Jars... "Sue" told me there was about 1 gagillion beers on tap. - Alcohol is cheap... like low class hookers. - "Sue" the elderly grandmother who knows how to pour me some shots of tequila. - Old school cigarette vending machines where I use to get my smokes from when I was 8 (remember, California banned these vending machines when we became a bunch of liberal tree hugging hippies). - Big patio to get your smoke and drink on. Why not 5 Stars since I listed a bunch of AWESOMENESS?! I know this is a bar... but I hope one day Stan will invest in a mop, a broom, and Costco sized Comet.

Ryan M.

Yelp
While in Dallas for Thanksgiving, I figured I'd check out Stan's Blue Note for the Florida vs. Florida State game. Stan's is supposed to be the official bar for Dallas-based University of Florida alumni. There was a decent number of alumni there, and I wasn't expecting a huge turnout, but I was expecting a little better atmosphere. Sully's House in Chicago and the Old Key Lime House near West Palm Beach are both Gator dive bars, and they were great. Stan's was just ok. I know they have their loyal patrons, and maybe Thanksgiving weekend is a bad time to judge a bar, however, I just didn't love it. I will say the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. I wanted to drink local beers, and they were sure to point me in the right direction. My glass was rarely empty, and our server was always asking if we needed anything else. In the end, my brother, his wife, and my dad all left with the same opinion. It's cool because you can watch the game anywhere, but it's just a dingy place with subpar fried food. The other UF alumni bar is called Red Dog Right, and I'll have to check that place out next time I'm in town. Go Gators!

Taylor H.

Yelp
One of the managers here is an absolute lunatic. The guy was seemingly drunk while at work and acting extremely unprofessional. Some of the bartenders even said he was drunk and "having a bad day". He's aggressive towards customers and unnecessarily rude. Tried to get his name but he refused. He was heckling with customers and made our experience uncomfortable. Learn to talk to your patrons instead of yell at them.... and maybe try not drinking on the job. This place is falling apart and a joke.
