Everyone is so helpful and kind! Absolutely fun and adorable place! Great way to spend an evening playing games. The food and drinks are amazing! 10/10 will be coming back! Check out their Sunday brunch also!!!

There jack fruit tacos are amazing !!!! I didn't get to try the smash burger yet , but I heard the whispers and shouts of how amazing it is ! The jackfruit tacos are out of this world , I will say that for me the 2 tacos on the plate disappeared and should of ordered 4 .

My girlfriend and I have been meaning to check out this bar and burger joint since we moved into the neighborhood, and today we finally did. The cozy, welcoming vibe hit us right away—nothing pretentious, just a great local spot. The smash burgers were fantastic, and the owner even served us on their family china, which was a cool personal touch. The music was just right—relaxed and not too loud, and they had the Astros game on, which I appreciated. We both agreed this is the perfect place to unwind after work. We’ll definitely be making this our regular spot.

Thank you for opening your doors to let people bring puppers in to cool and charge electronics during this storm. We enjoyed the food and drinks, and the cool retro atmosphere of the place!

Stumbled in here on a cold night when most other places were closed and glad I did. SUPER cool staff, awesome curated craft beer list, and smash burgers. I got lucky that the other places were closed

Always greeted with nice service. I'm not a big alcohol drinker. So I'm glad that they typically have expresso or cafe drinks in addition to the beer. The real star of the show here is the smashburger typically. Decided to change it up and have a brunch burger. It was topped with ham, hash brown & an egg. Very tasty along side the homemade ketchup. Overall whatever you try I'm sure they will take care of you. Feel free to take some time to just hang out and play the games they provide. It will give you time to notice all the little things around the bar.

We came in on an early Sunday for brunch. It wasn't super busy, they have board games. It's decorated cute and we plated on their SNES. They have drink specials, I got $5 sangria - loved it. I also had the breakfast bowl, it had hash browns, sausage, cheese, eggs, and gravy. It was good. Very hearty and filling. I like the vibes and the people working there are nice. They have events on their insta. This is a good neighborhood spot.

I came here with a group of fellow burger loving friends to check out their smashburger. Smashburgers seem to be the new craze and it also happens to be my favorite style of burgers. When I saw this place pop up on the 'gram, I had to check it out. Star Sailor is located in the Heights on the corner of a shopping strip. There was plenty of parking when we arrived around lunch time. Star Sailor is labeled as a bar, but walking in, it had bar and restaurant vibes. Tad bit artsy with a little music flair mixed in with all the music posters covering one wall. They have low and high top tables, but also have a couch area and booths off to the side. There's random seats from the Astrodome as well. I loved the little mismatch decor. It was a one woman show as far as customer service went. It turned out it was the owner taking orders as well as cooking the food. She was wonderful and handled it all with ease. The smashburger was what I came for, but for a bar, they had a nice little variety of different items to choose from. They had different bar snacks like hummus, chips and salsa, and snack mixes. They also had different sandwiches, burgers and Mexican food like quesadillas and tacos. What also should be pointed out is that they have vegan options for most of their items. Good looking out for those that want to go that route. I ordered the double Star Sailor Smashburger which is one of their popular items. You can customize it to how many many patties and how you want your toppings. It comes with cheese, their special sauce, chopped onions and pickles. I got mine without pickles and got grilled onions. Their sides are lacking in my opinion though. For an additional charge, you can get potato salad, side salad or chips. I'm a fry fanatic, so it was a bummer not to have that option. I went with just the burger and a canned soda which was only 7.5 oz. With tip it was around 18 bucks which is a little high in my opinion. Was the burger delicious? I thought it was very delicious. The patties were smashed so thin that it picked up that wonderful, crisp caramelization which was super flavorful. The cheese was melted just right and the sauce gave it a nice additional pop of flavor. I really enjoyed it but didn't achieve the level of full I would normally like after a meal. They also have a nice beer, coffee and wine selection that I definitely want to come back for and check out. Overall, it was a really good burger that sits up high on my list of favorite smashburgers. I will be back!

This place was super cute and chill and there are tons of games, even the retro Super Nintendo! The food was really good and the vibes were chill on a Sunday morning. I for sure recommend trying this place and they are gay friendly.

Lovely interior and inviting decor, the updated pride flag outside is welcoming, and the people are pleasant, the service is relatively fast and it's often not too crowded. Perfect place to grab a bite, I'm not a drinker, but the food is pretty good. It's a mostly casual hangout spot for anyone looking for one. And while I don't drink the staff was very knowledgeable when informing my friends who do, about the cold brews they served. Best for parties, celebrations, events or business dinings, setting up a reservation in advance is recommended. It's a small but friendly venue.

I came here for a cookie decorating event that I thoroughly enjoyed! The class gave one drink ticket, and I chose a sangria, which was delicious, but fell short in volume. I believe the price was about $12/glass. The atmosphere is quaint, highly decorative; very colorful. They play great music and it has a nice vibe and the restrooms are clean. The staff is friendly, helpful, and attentive. I will return to try the chicken fried steak that is highly recommended.

Rapidly becoming my favorite brunch spot in Houston. The chicken fried steak and eggs is fantastic. The place has a cool vibe and lots of activity nights including trivia and bingo. There are several seasonal beer selections so always something worth drinking as well.

This is an excellent bar and I can't believe I'm just now discovering it! They opened in 2020 during the pandemic but now that we're exploring our new hood, I'm so glad it's in the neighborhood! We ended up having dinner here and ordered a couple of their Oktoberfest beers. We were greeted by the employees and they were super friendly and very helpful. We got the schnitzel plate and the double patty smash burger and both were really good, but we preferred their schnitzel! It was topped with a mushroom sauce which gave it a little extra something and served with a tasty German potato salad. It's only here for a limited time though on the Oktoberfest menu. Their normal potato salad that was served with the smash burger is the perfect blend of mustard and mayo and I would highly recommend! The burger itself was ok. We also ordered a pretzel to start. I wish it was bigger but the spicy mustard and cheese it was served with was delicious! Overall, it's a cute place with a small outdoor patio and a solid beer selection. Go check them out and support local!

I really like this quaint little bar/restaurant/coffee shop! Once you walk through the doors you can tell it's well taken care of and has a lot of soul. The furnishings are unique, there are lots of local decorations, and they also sell small gifts and trinkets which are fun to browse. They have reasonable prices, and the employees have always been very helpful and personable. I'm looking forward to making it back out for a karaoke night!

We were looking for a new place to go and found this gem on Yelp. What a great find! The food was great! One of the best patty melts I've had in a long time and lots of vegetarian options. The adult beverages selection was excellent...looking forward to our next visit to try more. Everyone working there was wonderful and super friendly! They were having vinyl night and some local vendors, but we couldn't stay for that unfortunately. Apparently vinyl night is every Thursday, so we'll definitely be back for that. Inside was eclectic and fun - board games & Super Nintendo. Very happy to add this place to our regular dining out rotation!

What a little gem of a joint. I kept seeing reviews pop up about this place. I'll admit I wasn't sure if it was a bar, a cafe, a restaurant, or even a little shop turns out it's all of those things lol. We stopped in for a beer one night and had a great time. One of the bartenders told us on Wednesday they do a beer and a burger for $10. So of course we came and had to give it go. The burger was fantastic. One of the regulars told us we had to go double patty with grilled onions and jalapeños. They were not wrong. I added a fried egg for good measure and man was it tasty. All and all a great little place with really friendly service!

I love this place! It has everything from craft beer, frozen drinks, food, coffee, Micheladas and more! The owner is always so welcoming and friendly and always gives us free stuff like Irish bread on st patricks day and Jell-O shots! My daughter and grandson were visiting and we sat out in the patio and she brought out a bubble machine for my grandson which she didn't have to do and I thought that was very sweet! Please go support this women owned business!

Sometimes when you find a little hidden gem of a restaurant bar you want to tell others .When we entered, we were instantly welcomed to check out the menu and drink options. Star Sailor is a new place that opened in the heart of the Heights in Houston. The second you walk in , you feel the instant warmth as you are welcomed with delicious smells and greetings from their amazing staff.With TVs to watch the games and a great selection of alcoholic beverages to suit most tastes , this may be one of those places you have to visit .If you are looking for a friendly establishment that offers a small but delicious menu with ecletic beverages ( offered with a story or two) come by for a bite, you will be glad you did.

Marin is super friendly and fun! I saw another Yelper call this a hidden gem and I think that's a perfect descriptor of Star Sailor. Came here for a beer after a lunch date with my girlfriend and there was a great selection of craft beers for very reasonable prices. Also ask about mimosas! The vibe and style is very unique, colorful, and community oriented. We will most definitely be back soon!

We went on a Saturday afternoon to meet friends and we had a lovely experience. They have a rotating selection of interesting local beers on tap, and the friendly knowledgeable bartender let us sample in order to decide. I had a blueberry wheat beer that was sooooo delicious. We had the chips and queso and it hit the spot. The decor is adorable- love all the little signage they have around and the details, including a spot to put your phone in the bathroom. Also dog friendly, a big +++ Will definitely be back soon!!

My first visit to Star Sailor was with my pup and a friend's pup--then I decided to drop by again with just my pup ... in the same week. Positive and laid-back vibes in this place. Marin, Miranda, and Peter were so helpful and awesome. The patio is perfect for doggies, nighttime bites, and drinks. Patty melt was crazy-delish (and I'm not usually a patty melt person), and the street tacos were good, too. Having this dog-friendly, chill neighborhood bar with good food and drinks is awesome!

EXCELLENT local place to hangout, relax, and grab a drink. Owner is very friendly and welcoming! Highly recommend checking this place out for good local beer. There are tables Inside and outside, and great snack bites if you're hungry! Definitely worth checking out! (Also, with our new world we currently live in, masks are required when not eating or drinking, sanitizer is available, and tables inside are distanced. )

Great new bar! Owner Marin is very friendly and knowledgeable, and the place is super cute and nicely laid out into different sort of vibes--classic cozy bar seating, more spread out tables, a cozy velvet couch was next to a Christmas tree when we went, plus the outside tables which I believe are going to be expanded on. Will be back and try the food next time :)

Ate there last night for first time. They had a charge to my bill for using a credit card without telling me. Didn't know it until I got receipt on my email. Menu said Smashburger served with a side of chips. Bill had 6.00 extra charge for a tablespoon of shredded lettuce and chips.

Ok, the burger is easily top 2 or 3 in Houston. Pair that with a cold beer and no hassle parking......Will be back again for sure.

First time ordering to-go from Star Sailor. I heard good things about their smash burgers. I ordered the smash burger with the egg as extra and it was awesome. I also got the taco salad and breakfast tacos, both were excellent. Order arrived quickly and there were some goodies (brewery sticker and a menu). I will definitely order again.

"Hidden gem" is a spot on description! Located in one of our ubiquitous Houston strip malls, don't be deterred. Spacious layout, local merch corner ; what's not to love? The lovely owner and her equally lovely staff could not have been more welcoming and attentive. The gentleman behind the bar heard me telling my companions I couldn't pull up the menu on my phone, so he kindly brought over the print version, unasked. We came on a guest chef night (which was amazing!!) but we will definitely be back for the regular menu. Simply perfect!

Had a great time chatting with the owner and enjoying a great selection of tasty beer. My husband was the driver so decided on a Miller High Life (low ABV) and he was given a beautiful logo Koozie. We were so impressed with the ambiance, cleanliness, great service and friendliness!! We will definitely return, hopefully with a group after crazy 20'!! Thank you for the wonderful hospitality!!

We loved this place. Owner and server were both very friendly. Huge beer selection and owner knows all the beers inside and out. Don't worry ladies they have wines and seltzers and ciders. Food was great, they had a guest chef which apparantly happens frequently and we really enjoyed the ambience. Between drinks we shopped the locally sourced merchandise. Just a fun and easy hang out spot.

I've been coming here since they opened for the incredible beer selection, great food and community events. I recently dropped by for coffee and breakfast and I was equally impressed. The iced coffee and breakfast tacos were tasty and it was a perfect place to kick off your day.

This place is amazing best key lime watermelon soda. They also sell tea and coffee and those are amazing

I stumbled into this place one night. We were having dinner a couple of doors down and heard music so decided to stop in to have 1 drink. We had a great time and stayed till they closed. It's a great local bar near home to try out!
