The 9 Best Boba Shops In Houston - Houston - The Infatuation

"For a quick, fully customizable bubble tea fix, go to Star Snow Ice. Everything here is utilitarian, delicious, and cheaper than other boba spots (around $4 per drink). The original location—the second one is in the corner of Dun Huang plaza—has been serving boba tea and flavored shaved ice in Chinatown for over 20 years. With classic flavors from the standard jasmine milk tea to honeydew tea with rainbow jelly, you can get just about any kind of bubble tea combination under the sun." - gianni greene

Star Snow Ice - Review - Chinatown - Houston - The Infatuation

"Without sticking your head under a soft serve machine, the quickest way to get a giant dose of something cold is by going to Star Snow Ice. The original location—the second one is in the corner of Dun Huang plaza—has been serving boba tea and flavored shaved ice in Chinatown for over 20 years. Massive plates of mango or green tea fluffy ice get drizzled with condensed milk and decorated with heaps of egg custard and tapioca. And even though the ice pile looks hefty, like an overstuffed suitcase, it’s nearly weightless on the spoon. The entire plate only costs around $10, so you may as well throw in a few milk teas and an extra scoop of fruit. photo credit: Quit Nguyen photo credit: Quit Nguyen photo credit: Quit Nguyen photo credit: Quit Nguyen photo credit: Quit Nguyen Pause Unmute" - Chelsea Thomas

Haven’t been back in a long time. Shave ice hit the spot and the prices are very reasonable. Small narrow seating/ordering area but staff is friendly and has a nice mom/pop feel. Parking is a bit easier than the other Star snow. Will need to try the food to see how it compares.

You can pick 4 toppings (including fresh fruits, jelly etc) for each shaved iced. I had Taro shaved ice and it was delicious. The popcorn chicken (盐酥鸡) had great flavor and texture too! Def recommend this snack/dessert place

Been coming here with my family since I was 5 years old. And still do even at age 32. Its a cute mom and pops desert / food spot. My favorite is their ice desert with grass jelly and brown sugar :)

Love the fresh fruit juices here. The menu is great value for the money. I had the Beef Tendon Noodle Soup today with Fresh Watermelon Juice. Highly recommend!

Milk tea was nice and sweet. Good tall cup. Popcorn chicken with spicy powder was crispy and good as well. Prices online / online order are wrong. Ended up paying $2 more in total.

Star Snow Ice has been in Houston for years. I don’t exactly remember when it started but glad it made it through COVID, which is a huge strike to all restaurants. Definitely not the chic boba tea house like others but it strives to provide budget friendly food, boba tea, shaved ice and other desserts. I’m very thankful to the owner for making our neighborhood a better place.

Solid restaurant for Taiwanese Dishes I started eating here when the Chicken-Fried Cutlet plate (pictured) was <$5. But this same plate is now $9.25, not to mention the self-serve order kiosk asks for a tip! While the portion size is still pretty hearty, it unfortunately came with a side of undercooked chicken causing food poisoning! I would’ve gladly given this place 6/5 stars a decade ago but am lowering to 3/5 based on the most recent visit.

Been coming here since I was a kid- the original boba spot that my parents went to. Love the drinks and the people here, incredibly underrated!
