"Star, Anchorage’s unofficial mascot, is a reindeer that lives downtown. He’s actually the seventh reindeer to bear the name and title since the 1960s." - Bailey Berg
star is so cute and well taken care of. we passed by him a few times on our trip and seemed to only come out in the early morning. loved the mini library box as well. no one else was visiting so we had him all to ourselves.

Going to see Star just seems like a must do. The story behind Star made us want to visit. We went in the early morning and he was out and about in his kennel.

You can walk up and see the local Anchorage mascot Star at any time. There is a window for viewing at the front of the house.

Aw Star is so loved. He was an orphan and had antlers growing into the side of his head, and was bullied by the other reindeer. Now he is safe, has a healthy coat, trimmed antlers several times a year, and gets yummy nomnoms in an upkept environment, while representing AK!

Incredible to see a reindeer in the middle of a city, even unique for Alaska. He has a lot of protection and cameras. It is just a house in a corner near downtown

I do not care for Star’s living conditions. He needs more space He should be with others of his kind. Where is this allowed even to go on.

Go see star. We didn't get to see his owner walking him, but it's worth a visit
