Disney World's Immersive 'Star Wars' Hotel to Close Just 19 Months After Opening — How to Visit Before It's Gone

"Less than two years after opening, Disney World's Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser will close in September, the park confirmed to Travel + Leisure on Thursday. The never-before-done resort was a 2-night immersive experience unlike any other hotel on property. During the two-day trip, guests receive hotel room, food and drink, a day trip to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, a Magic Band, and valet service for a total cost of around $6,000. The experience thrusts guests directly into their own Star Wars plot as they interact with the cast of characters on Halcyon and conduct lightsaber training for an unprecedented experience never before done in the hospitality sector." - Travel + Leisure Editors

Two Days Aboard Disney World’s ‘Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser’ Hotel - Eater

"Welcome aboard Galactic Starcruiser, a windowless Star Wars space yacht forever moored in a galaxy far, far away alongside Florida’s Interstate 4 highway. It’s not quite Westworld by way of Naboo, but it’s the closest to playing pretend padawan that Disney’s offered to date. The hotel might mimic a starship but it operates like an earthbound cruise: Each stay is two consecutive nights with all food, activities, and entertainment included. Eating aboard the Galactic Starcruiser is not unlike eating aboard your average luxury liner, and the modernist tricks (Blue stuff! Smoke! Ice spheres!) might seem old hat to anyone who ordered from a high-end tasting menu in the early 2000s. Still, within the parameters of an intellectual property cruiser erected in Mickey Mouse’s Floridian backyard, the culinary program is, overall, a feat. Disney’s new, slightly deranged hotel experience is the most fun you’ll have at Disney World. After disembarking, I made up for the vitamin D I’d sacrificed onboard by visiting the Magic Kingdom, where Cinderella Castle and Fantasyland felt banal and pedestrian compared to the ship’s intricately designed interiors; even Dole Whip was bland and uninspired after days of biting into sweet orbs with surprise centers. There’s some kind of magic in a bottle happening within that cruise-hotel’s walls and I, a middling Star Wars fan, somehow left inexplicably changed by it. It’s nothing if not aggressively inventive, which is remarkable for a franchise with this many corporate cooks in the kitchen. Despite some necessary story retooling that could streamline the experience, Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser is delightfully unhinged — the highest compliment I can give the biggest entertainment corporation in the galaxy." - Carlye Wisel

At Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, a Stay at the New Star Wars Hotel Comes With Lightsaber Training and a Visit to Batuu | Condé Nast Traveler

"When the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser makes its inaugural voyage at Walt Disney World on March 1, 2022, it will be a hotel experience like none other, fulfilling decades of dreams for Star Wars fans. Modeled as a cruise to a galaxy far, far away, the Galactic Starcruiser has more in common with a river cruise or ocean liner than a typical hotel. But spoiler alert: You can leave the nausea meds at home; you’ll never leave solid ground."

I was really impressed with the experience, and couldn't help feeling a little sad as we left early on the third morning. The attention to detail was incredible, even the shuttle that takes you between the hotel and galaxy's edge is entirely abstracted. There's a great deal of effort that went into creating this experience, the staff in particular were great, and I wish it worked out better for Disney so more people could see it. I'm thankful we were able to experience it before it shuts down in September. Loved the themed food, fun cocktails and the kiddo really liked the bunk beds.

Google
A little expensive but it was worth the money to do one time. It may not be for everyone but I brought two late teen boys who are Star Wars fans and they LOVED it. I was worried that this was geared towards younger kids but that was not the case. If you allow yourself to become immersed in the story and play along a little, you will have a better experience. Some guests wore costumes but most did not. The storyline was fun and the actors did their jobs well. It was great how Disney incorporated Batuu, (Star Wars section of Hollywood Studios) into their storyline with the 2 rides and side missions. Overall it is worth it but be prepared to stay involved. You need to keep your phone charged because you need to keep using the interactive app and have your magic band with you. I won't give any real spoilers except to chat with the main characters because they will include you in the action/role playing. For example, they may have you create some sort of a diversion to keep the First Order busy while other things are happening. Overall we are happy with the experience. The food was great and presented well.

Google
A truly unique, unforgettable and one of the kind experience!!! It is expensive yes, but it is worth it! From the moment you step in you become part of star wars... My daughter and my son absolutely enjoyed this immersive experience and believed they were princess Leia and Luke sky walker. The food and the whole dining experience amazing and i loved how everyone was in character!! They have done a superb job with the rooms and the cruise ship!!! It makes you feel you are part of it!!

Google
Had a blast. Was worth the money and almost every bad review for this place are people complaining about how they can't go because it's too expensive for them, so they are not real reviews. Lots of exclusive collectibles inside, if that's your thing. Some stuff you can order ahead of time (60 days out) if you are logged in to your disney account on their web shop. Lots of people wearing costumes, lots of people dressed plainly. The story was fine, the cast members were excellent. Lots of stuff to do, LOTS of food, most of it very good. The drinks were solid. I'd definitely consider doing this again.

Google
This was such an amazing experience! Every moment on board the Starcruiser was filled with nonstop entertainment, excitement, delicious food... and of course Blue Milk. The Starcruiser crew is so incredibly talented, and works so hard to make sure that guests of the Starcruiser are truly part of the story. As soon as we stepped on board, we were completely immersed in the story, and there was so much to do and explore. There were secret missions, group events, character interactions, and so much more. There was actually so much to experience that we couldn't do it all in our limited time on board. The food was also amazing! While it may look very different than what we are used to, the flavors are more familiar than they look, and everything was cooked absolutely perfectly. For those with not so adventurous palates, the kids menu offered milder, more familiar choices. My entire family is disappointed that the Starcruiser is coming to an end, but so thankful that we were able to experience it once before its final voyage.

Google
Absolutely incredible. This immersive experience is so exquisitely well-done. The building itself is flawless, every detail considered, creating a unique and enveloping atmosphere. The guest services crew are magnificent, so thoughtful and kind and welcoming. The performers are absolutely world-class, creating characters that absolutely compel your heart and sympathies. I'm so grateful I had the chance to live *my* Star Wars story. It's a shame the marketing so badly let down the amazing creative teams who put this together. This is not, in the slightest, gimmicky. It's not "a Star Wars hotel." It's the experience of a lifetime.

Carl Archambeault

Google
Most amazing experience of my life! I wish I had gone sooner so that I could have gone more than once! I'll always regret not bringing the kids along since they would have loved this. I hope Disney finds a way to bring this experience back, it's totally worth every dollar and I'm extremely sad to see it go. The cast and crew of the Halcyon were absolutely amazing, they made every moment so enjoyable. I knew the Starcruiser would be awesome, but I didn't expect to have a life changing experience. The Halcyon and all the crew and passengers will always be in my memories, I will never forget this!

Michael Cornelison

Google
I can't give enough stars to this incredible experience. This was a amazing immersive interactive experience as advertised. The staff was incredibly incredibly friendly, entertaining, interactive. I can express how exciting and fun this event was. The staff stayed true to character. It was a great competition of interactive. And free time which allowed you to explore. Have fun but also engage in the storyline as much or as little as you wanted. The food was off the chart. Amazing, unique and an incredible experience. I would highly highly recommend anyone to do this, but as of the end of September in 2023 we were on the last voyage of the galactic cruiser. Will be sad that we cannot ever book this again

Yelp
I am still unbelievably saddened that this no longer exists. I was lucky enough to be invited aboard a "test flight" back in February of 2022 before it officially opened as my cousin worked on the whole project. It was a weird time for sure. Everyone (including all cast members) were still masked up for COVID, security was tight (no photos or videos allowed unless you were a designated cast member with proper authority). But as a lifelong, die hard Star Wars fan, this was by far one of the greatest experiences of my life. (just don't tell my wife and kids that I think it may just ever so slightly beat out getting married and the birth of my kids, lol) Everything was super immersive and fun. The storylines were amazing. Sure there were a few hiccups here and there (it was a test flight after all), but it was still amazing. Add to that, it being my first time ever to visit Battu? Epic barely describes it. I'm not ashamed to admit that many tears of joy were shed over the 2 nights spent aboard the Halcyon. Cast and crew were absolutely incredible. I only wish it was still around so I could attempt to save up and take my family aboard a cruise through the stars (because, lets face it, it was damn expensive...but oh so worth it imo.) The Halcyon shall be missed, but I will cherish these memories for the rest of my life. May the stars continue to light your way. Ta'bu E Tay and Ba Ma' Shay

Yelp
OMG. THIS. IS. AMAZING!!!! A truly immersive experience like no other--cosplay, interactive theater, cruise on land--all rolled into one, and what better way to do it than with the legendary Star Wars storyline. Disney outdid themselves AGAIN. when you step foot off of your car, you literally are transported to a galaxy far far away. You need to sign up for the CSL portrait session. This is a private portrait session that you have a personal professional photographer all to yourself for 20 minutes. The photos are worth it. The food is amazing!! There are so many different flavors incorporated into the dishes, and they look like they are from out of this world. You have to try everything. I wish such a hotel is built on the West Coast because the travel to Disney World from the west coast is my only draw back from this experience. The kids LOVED it!!

Yelp
I'm a Anakin super fan so why not! I loved the experience. I definitely recommend to any Star Wars fan. The food was good but not great but it lived up to its experience. I loved seeing characters. Disney def did a good job on the costumes! I would loved to have seen other human characters but I enjoyed seeing Chewie, C3P0, and R2-D2. The rooms were really nice, clean, and comfortable.

Yelp
An out of this world adventure. When we first heard that you could book a two night immersive experience in the Star Wars universe, I was hooked. Both my husband and I are huge Star Wars fans. The only issue is we have two young kids (ages 1 and 3). Would it be worth it to take them on this trip? The answer is yes and no, which I'll explain below. But since I didn't want to wait five years to go, we decided to suck it up and make this our first family vacation as a family of four. It is expensive. I think anyone who knows anything about this experience knows that. We paid about $6,400 (yes the baby counted, which made both a cast member and other guest recoil in shock when they found out). This isn't something I'd pay every year, but because this is such a unique experience, I would say it was worth it. It is a back to back itinerary and you're always either running around completing missions or doing an activity. For example, we had lightsaber training, droid racing, bridge training, etc. It was hard completing missions with a three year old and one year old. If I did it again, I wouldn't take them (sorry kids). It's hard to concentrate and convince a three-year-old to run all around the ship with you. I saw older kids completing missions by themselves (think 7 and up) and it looked like they had a fantastic time. That's the age I would recommend. Events went till 10 p.m., so expect late nights and chug coffee (you do get complimentary lattes, espressos and cappuccinos, which I didn't discover till the second night.) However, Disney did a great job creating events for the 7 and under crowd. They call this group the Loth-Cats and they had their own lightsaber training, Loth-Cat meet up where they got to play with droids, porg detection, etc. It was really cute and it made me feel better about bringing a child so young. The food was actually spectacular. I'm usually disappointed with Disney food, but this food was great. There were some misses, but there were also definitely hits with each meal. Breakfast and lunch were buffets, whereas dinner was sit down. Dinner the first night with the singer Gaya, was superb. She sings so beautifully. And since there are only 100 rooms on the Starcruiser, everyone gets a good seat. The other passengers are what makes this experience amazing. If you think, will everyone else geek out as much as I do, the answer is yes. No costume is too extravagant. I saw some stellar outfits. Also everyone is exceptionally nice. People were constantly helping each other out with missions. Again, since there's so few people in this hotel, you really bond with some of the other passengers. Would I recommend spending this type of money if you aren't a mega Star Wars fan? Probably not. But for us, we will always look at this experience fondly and plan to come back in six years.

Yelp
ALL the sTaRs in the universe for an out of this world intergalactic experience!! Just the anticipation for this fully immersive 2 day Star Wars experience is overwhelming! We've been looking forward to this Disney offering since the first rumbling rumors of it. It's finally time to go, so we pack our various costume changes and excited attitudes and head to the new star cruiser resort hotel. Everything was top notch perfection from the start. It really feels like you are going on a Star cruise line! It's like living in a realistic Alternative universe where space travel is a thing. There are no hints once you arrive that you are anywhere else. The cast members never break character and you are a part of it! You play a part and keep in constant contact with the story driven "who, what, where and when" through your Disney play app. The accommodations are amazing! It's like the Star Trek enterprise quarters but better! Your key is your wristband fob which also has your personal info. The cabin feels like a cruise ship but better equipped and great use of space. It was very comfortable. There is an interactive android robot who speaks with you through video intercom activated by your wristband. She hears you & really interacts to your words. Amazing and beautiful star "view" from your large window which moves animated, looking & feeling like real outer space. Food is terrific and themed appropriately. All the blue milk & Bantha products you'd expect. Very cool! The ship is set up similar to a cruise ship. I really felt like it was moving like a cruise ship! WOW! They have thought of everything! The bar is fun & the gambling card game of sabaac is great fun! I won't give away all the activities culminating in an exciting finish. You do take a space shuttle transfer to planet batuu, which is galaxies edge at Disney. You get a special pin to wear to complete activities there and get special treatment plus lightning lane to the best rides and free lunch included. It's all the new best that Disney has to offer. Is it pricy, you may ask? oh YES for sure. You DO get what you pay for in this instance. Disney really hit it "out of the park" with this one, haha. It was truly a bucket list experience if you like this sort of thing. Happy yelping, & see you at disneyworld!

Yelp
TL;DR. Yes. It's expensive. Yes. It's awesome. Yes. We'll return. I don't want to ruin anything so I will speak generally. This is an incredible immersive experience like no other I have ever. We've seen the play Tony's and Tina's Wedding in Chicago and this is far more immersive. You won't look at Galaxies Edge (Batuu) the same way again. We forgot we were at Disney. The food is, fine. Our two dinners we not hot, only cold or warm. Definitely not in alignment with the price. Service is good, but not to the level of Disney Cruise Lines. I am ok with these pitfalls. You don't come here for fine dining or a spa, which they lack. You come here to lose yourself in the Star Wars story. This experience is what you make of it. Get out and try everything. The reviewer who said there was nothing to do, clearly didn't actually take the voyage. It's the complete opposite. Too much to do. Interact with everyone, cast and non cast. On our voyage, 50% of the guests dressed up, with some way more spectacular than others. Yes, I'm talking about you Padmé. They service Coke products and have a limited bar. They bar cocktails are good, albeit expensive.

Yelp
This is, by a long long way, the best vacation experience, and the best ebtertainment experience I have had in my life. Turns out the secret to a stress free vacation is to go BE somebody else. Our party of 5 consisted of me, my wife, and my cousin. All around 50, and my son who was 14. My cousin and I grew up watching the movies together and are mega fans. We visited 3/20-3/22. From the moment we boarded the launch capsule, we were completely immersed. I love that there is nothing that says "Star Wars" anywhere in the experience, because SW does not exist in a galaxy far far away. We went in with a back story, and ours used a planet that most casual fans wouldn't know. But the Captain of the ship recognized it immediately and reacted appropriately, this interaction set the tone for the rest of our voyage. From secret meetings, to hacking systems, to being part of a team hiding an ally, to bantering with a first order officer. It felt real. I think one of the reasons that it is hard to convey to people why this experience is so incredible, and why it is a bargain at double the price is because nobody has a framework for what this experience is like. It's like the sandbox of my childhood turned into a starship, and the characters and universe I grew up with were live action figures, with minds of their own, and I was dropped into the middle of their story, and we all played a critical role in how things turned out. We all went through different exeriences. I met with characters, that others in my party only saw from a distance, and vice versa. My recommendations for future travelers are, get the captains table on night two. Have a back story for your group, interact with the characters, have fun, schedule a photography session with one of their photographers. Order the drinks that come with the glasses you can keep. They are great souvenirs. This last one is very important, there are two gift shops, one on-board the ship, and the other at the exit. The store onboard the ship has Chandrilla Star Lines: Halcyon items. There is an exclusive saber and droid available, some nice jewelry, shirts, costumes etc. Nothing says Galactic Starcruise or Star Wars. This gift shop is NOT open on the 3rd day, so if you were planning to buy something on your last day, you would be disappointed. The gift shop at the exit does not have any of the on-board merch, this is where you will find all the Galactic Starcruiser branded merch. The only change I would make, is on the viewport in the room. It would be nice to be able to disable the lighting on the viewport at night so we could fall asleep ad wake up looking at a galaxy far far away. We found the lighting was too bright to be left on while sleeping, but really wanted the viewport open.

Yelp
Hit and a miss. Now we know why its going out. Actual guest areas and things to do are lacking. After being onboard for an 30 mins we had viewed it all. This is for hardcore starwars lovers whom are adults. We are talking StarWars Geaks! Breakfast & Lunch was good. Dinner was whack. Service was great, all the employees were fantastic. All the infrastructure was unbelievable, they did a great job. However, they did not walk in the shoes of a real guest. Again, for the real SW fan this is your mecca. May the force be with you!

Yelp
From July 10 to July 12, 2023, we embarked on a journey to the Galactic Starcruiser Hotel. In writing this review, my aim is to answer the age-old question: should you go and spend the money? I assure you, dear reader, that this review shall be devoid of any spoilers. Initially, I must admit to my hesitation, stemming from the steep price of $1,500 per guest for a mere two nights. Nevertheless, I can now unequivocally say that the experience is undeniably incredible. As someone who does not consider themselves a huge Star Wars fan, having only seen the classic films and snippets of the newer ones, and primarily enjoying the classic games like Battlefront 1 & 2, I still had a truly fantastic time aboard the Starcruiser. The experience it offers is truly unparalleled. Disney, renowned for their exceptional attention to detail, innovative cuisine, and stunning beverages, once again exceeds expectations. To determine whether this adventure is suitable for you, one must gauge their love for Star Wars. Naturally, the higher your rating on the Star Wars enthusiasm scale, the more likely you are to revel in this experience. It goes without saying that there will undoubtedly be hardcore Star Wars fans among the guests. Upon our arrival, we were greeted by a multitude of individuals dressed in elaborate Star Wars costumes and dresses. If you desire a more immersive encounter, I would recommend dressing up, selecting a planet as your own, and crafting a personal narrative. However, rest assured that such endeavors are purely optional, and being yourself is perfectly acceptable. Now, allow me to delve into the true enchantment that Disney has to offer: the crew, the characters, and the overall experience. It is within these elements that the adventure truly comes alive. The crew members are incredibly giving, caring, and remarkably attentive to your individuality. I mentioned my name to them only once, yet they remembered it throughout our journey. In every interaction, they would summon me to assist and guide them. The exceptional customer service extended not only by the crew, but also by the characters, is truly remarkable you can ask Chewie about me if you go. Among the remarkable crew members, one individual stood out to me: Michael, one of the managers. On my first night aboard the Starcruiser, I indulged in an ordering spree of the complimentary blue milk. With each request, I couldn't help but feel as though I were inconveniencing the crew with my numerous orders. However, to my surprise, as our voyage drew to a close, Michael approached me and presented a Starcruiser bottle filled with blue milk. His kindness and thoughtfulness left an indelible mark on my memory. Such experiences evoke nostalgia for the beloved old Disney encounters, cherished by countless visitors. It is disheartening to witness their gradual disappearance. While there are certainly areas that could be enhanced, it is not my intention to dwell on them in this review. The primary question remains: should you undertake this adventure? Without hesitation, I wholeheartedly endorse it, provided, of course, that you possess the financial means. Admittedly, I find the price to be slightly high, but only by a negligible margin. If you truly enjoy Star Wars, relish captivating narratives, revel in immersive quests, and thoroughly enjoy thrilling adventures, then the Galactic Starcruiser is an unequivocal must-do. Ultimately, the decision to embark on this escapade hinges on your financial circumstances. If you have the means, I strongly encourage you to seize this opportunity. Conversely, if your financial situation does not permit such indulgence, it would be prudent to abstain. Nevertheless, rest assured that regardless of your decision, this experience will not be regarded as a waste of money. On the contrary, it promises to be an exceedingly enjoyable and memorable journey, one that will linger in your heart for years to come.

Yelp
This is LITERALLY the coolest thing I have ever done on Disney property. I honestly can't even describe it. You truly do feel as if you've been transported into a Star Wars type of world! Everything about it is amazing... -The entire hotel is epically themed and designed. The rooms are so neat, and make you fell like you're in space! It is definitely on the DISNEY WORLD deluxe tier of hotels. -The food is out of this world! Not only does it taste amazing... but it looks amazing too!! You will never go hungry either... because there are constantly opportunities to eat, and you can eat as much as you want! -The amount of interaction you'll have on the ship is the best part! You essentially get to create your own Star Wars story... and it is so much fun! The cast members seriously make you feel like you're part of the team! I don't want to say too much... because I feel like being surprised by the magic is one of the best parts. But if you're a true Star Wars fan... you will LOVE this experience!!

Yelp
Disney has pulled out all the tops on this fantastic opportunity for Star Wars fans. The biggest question I think people have was "is it worth the money?" This is I think a personal question each person/group will need to answer for themselves because there is a cost for the endeavor but the answer for us was unequivocally yes and splitting a room between the 5 of us ended up being not much more than a stay in a Moderate Disney Resort hotel to compare. Do your homework, do the math, and you may be surprised, as I was that it can be comparable with a standard day in Disney World. I would do it again in a heartbeat if I found a group willing and saved the money to do it. As for the experience itself, amazing cast and crew, amazing food, I loved the excursion to Batuu and got to experience Hollywood Studios in a totally unique way that changed the experience that park for me, and I could practically live on the Halcyon itself - it is a stunning hotel. Making your own costumes I think improves the experience dramatically and making up a character. Be prepared with a planet that you hail from and do a little research on it online before you go. I was uncomfortable with the roleplay at first but the more you sink in the more you get out of it. If you have questions, ask, I love to talk about it and share our personal journey as well as to learn what others thought!

Yelp
An out of this world experience. I'm so glad we were able to experience it. The food and drinks were superb but the voyage is why you go.

Yelp
It's such a shame the dream and idea of the Starcruiser cost more than people were willing to pay. The food was delicious, specialty drinks amazing, and I really appreciated being able to choose how immersive you wanted to be.

Yelp
We just returned from our stay at the Galactic Starcruiser- the experience was amazing. Light saber training was our favorite part, but the whole story line, and interactions are incredible. The experience included all of your food- dinners were delicious. We thought food could have been better for breakfast and lunch. Housekeeping never came back during our stay, either, which was desired. The rooms were comfortable and the cast members were the very best part- everyone was so friendly. We did the photographer experience and that was also very special. They captured our favorite shots of the trip.

Yelp
All the cast members are the real stars of this expensive experience. Starting at $6,000-$8,000+ for a family of four or $5,000+ for a couple for 2 days on board the Halcyon. All of the meals and non-alcoholic drinks such as blue milk, green milk, coffee, tea, water and orange juice are included with your stay. Alcoholic beverages, merchandise, and Photopass pictures are extra costs additional to your stay. The Halcyon, Chandrila Star Line: Your cabin comes with H2O soaps, hair dryer, towels, safe, mini fridge, pull down bed and rain fall shower. The shower, toilet and sink are small as a standard cruise ship cabin bathroom. I'd imagine a tall person having trouble using the toilet in the cabins. There's one Queen sized bed and padded bunk beds that fit about a 6 foot person at most. You also have your Alexa/Siri like robot to check-in inside your room, with your room phone and lights on your during your stay. There's about 100 cabins on board, which can fill up to 500 people per trip; it's been about 70% to 50% or less full for the first few paid bookings. There are NO WINDOWS, it's a concrete bunker with television screens is the room and hotel that you're staying at in the Chandrila Star Line. You can check-in for your almost two day experience from 1 pm to 4 pm and check out time is at 10 am. They take your bags from the front desk outside into your room; you get a special magic band to keep and a datapad (iPhone) to use during your stay, that has to be returned at the end of your stay. They have mustering, tour of the ship, bridge area, main activities hall, climate simulator room/Florida Sunroom, dining hall and bar for the guests. The activities range from participating in your own adventure from one of four choices: Jedi, Resistance, First Order and Sith. The cast members are able to stay in story completely and drive the storyline throughout the experience, they also give the excellent customer service that Disney was known for to their guests on the Chandrila Line. If you want a special latte, they will give it to you and like their cruise line, a server cast member will follow you throughout your dining experience and you'll sit at the same table with your party during your stay. There's lightsaber training (laser tag), sneaking Rey and Chewbacca on board, the brig, Sabacc (card games), line dancing, bingo, rock stacking, Gaya singing, the Rey and Kylo fight that resembles Avengers Campus hero action and plenty of interactive experiences with the cast members. This immersive experience was originally supposed to be a part of Galaxy's Edge for all guests with a theme park ticket but Disney chose to put it behind this paywall. It's more of a dinner theater, break out room, LARPing & mystery theater experiences all in one. You get a visit to Batuu in Galaxy's Edge after getting on the shuttle transport (box truck), you are given a pin to recognize that you're a passenger on the ship when you leave for Batuu and have your Lightning Lane reservations for the Millennium Falcon and Rise of the Resistance; you can also reserve Oga's Cantina, Savi's Workshop and Droid Depot. You can stay from 8 am to 4 pm at Galaxy's Edge and feel free to roam around the rest of Hollywood Studios before going back on the Halcyon. You are given one quick service meal included in Disney's Hollywood Studios. The food looks like cafeteria and continental breakfast food. It looks really bad with the blue dyed shrimp (soaked in butterfly pea tea), I'd imagine those allergic to food coloring could have problems eating this food at this hotel. The portion sizes are small, with the price tag I'd want lobster, Wagyu beef, champagne, king crab, Saffron, Truffles food and more included with my payment than the ship's food most that looks like it's from Animal Kingdom, character breakfast and the Asian Pavilions at Epcot that offer similar food. Overall, it is the cast members as always that makes a Disney experience special especially for this expensive experience for those who can afford it and would like this interactive dinner theater. It's up to you, if it's worth the money but there's a lot more things people can do and save up for with the amount that Disney's asking for this less than 2 day experience. But if you have the means, go for it but I'd rather spend that amount having weeks long relaxing vacations elsewhere like Japan, Canada, the Bahamas, or any other cruise line (e.g. Royal Caribbean or Celebrity Cruise Lines). Invest it, pay off debt or save up the money would be more beneficial to you at this time with high inflation, rising prices and war uncertainty. A fool and their money are soon parted. There's lots of fools willing to part with their money for Disney social media clout/Disney Media Access to show off "ego boost" that they went on this experience. Thank you so much to all the amazing hard working cast members that make this experience so special to the guests! Thank you for all that you do!

Yelp
We will definitely be doing this experience again. I thought the food was amazing but very salty. The dining staff is very good about food restrictions and will bring extra of whatever you want. I don't have any food allergies but choose not to eat red meat. Definitely ask them what things are if you're not sure because they use different names for things on the ship. They don't call things steak and chicken etc. There are not always very many choices of food especially with all the diet restrictions they have to accommodate. I really liked the tofu in the first day dinner. The fish in the second day dinner was also a standout. Knowing what I know now I would have watched all of the spoiler videos I could get my hands on. I had not watched any spoilers figuring I would let things develop as they did but I was extremely frustrated. The next time we go we will also try to plan a time where there won't be as many small children. We were there September 1-3. Definitely plan to use the data pad app a lot. That's where a lot of your interactions come from. You scan your magic bands at kiosks around the ship. This was particularly frustrating because it seemed like not much would happen. There is only so much progress in your story you can do on the first day. The CSL photo shoot package has increased to $399 at this time. We only paid $99. At $99 it was 100% worth it but I would not have paid $399. Initially I was disappointed that our photos were scheduled the second day morning at 8 AM but it was a really good time. All of the photo locations were empty. We were in cosplay both days. We had character names and back stories but no one really asked about that. There was a really cool drink at the Sublight lounge that includes a souvenir glass. It was some type of spicy black volcano drink. My husband wishes he had got a second one for another souvenir glass. I think it did cost around $36. even though it is a fairly small number of rooms the atrium does seem crowded during the night time show experience. Only a handful of people are able to get more personal attention. Next time we book we are going to also book at a time we can get the first night chef's table. It seems like those people were able to get more personal experience throughout the two days.

Yelp
We took a recent trip here and wanted to share some thoughts that hopefully may help others. For reference, we booked several rooms for our party from standard rooms to the largest cabin which is the grand captain suite . As I'm sure others have mentioned the cost for this experience is extremely high, even by Disney standards, the suite we had was around 15k. Yes, $15,000 just for that room. Standard rooms were in the ballpark of 6k. First thing that was surprising were the lack of small children. It was almost all adults and most of the kids there were 12+ if I had to guess. My kids are 6-10 so quite a bit younger. It would become clear over our stay that this experience is definitely geared towards adults and much older kids. Positive thoughts: the staff was incredibly nice. At one point, one of my kids was having a bit of a meltdown during one of the many standing around talking "experiences" so I removed her as to not disturb other guests. Staff in the area a took her were so sweet and came over to offer water and a quiet place to sit. I was very grateful for their help. The scenery on the ship is very cool and the characters we saw were pretty interactive with guests. My kids loved getting to talk to storm troopers. Going to galaxies edge was fun as are the rides but we were done in less than an hour. And then had more hours of zero to do. Not so positive thoughts: 1) there is no room service whatsoever. There is also no place to get basic amenities one may need like even the most basic hotel provides. Yes, I get that we are "in space" lol but when someone is spending this much they expect some basic amenities to be available if needed. 2) Food was good for adults but not if you have picky kid eaters. The lunch and breakfast buffet was just ok but dinner on night one there was nothing my kids would eat. We were told on night 1 they do have a "secret" kids menu available so we were able to order off of that but night 2 this would not be available. 3) the experience was sold to us with promises of experiences and activities on board the ship. The truth was, prior to 4pm there is NOTHING to do. We were all going stir crazy and so bored. We couldn't even get food because there wasn't any lol. What did exist after 4pm were short activities that were mostly people standing around listening to characters talk. For adults that's fine but young kids don't enjoy that. Some activities didn't even start until 9-10PM lol... 4) we never once experienced the alarm that's supposed to happen to "put you in the story." Full disclosure, we left the afternoon of day 2 because everyone was pretty miserable so maybe that all happens the night on the last day but if so, that's a bad set up. 5) within the Disney play app there are missions you can do in the Star Wars park and a few on the ship. Kids were excited for these until we realized that they had tons of steps, many not in logical order, and young kids just got frustrated. We eventually finished them but no one was happy in the end. Adults or older kids would be fine but, again, not for kids under the tween age. 6) Rooms: I'll speak specifically to the suite since that's where I stayed. The windows to space were cool but had these lights across the border that were extremely bright. So, to sleep we had to shut the windows to turn those off. It would have been nice to be able to turn those lights off while keeping the window open for some soft light. There was also no drawers to store anything. And this is in the largest room offered. I can't even imagine how cramped the normal rooms are. Showers have no water pressure and were hard to turn on without getting soaked. Our toilet broke after one use (it was fixed quickly.) My overall take is that if you are an adult who is obsessed with Star Wars you will probably enjoy it maybe even older kids who can deal with hours of nothing to do and nowhere to go might be ok too. Just understand what you are getting (and not getting) before so you aren't disappointed. For the cost, I expected a very different experience and thought it would be a lot more kid friendly (it's Disney after all.)

Yelp
PHENOMENAL. If you are a Star Wars Fan, this experience has to be on your bucket list. It was an immersive experience and a pick your own adventure type deal. The food was incredible, cast members were amazing, the whole starcruiser was spotless. Tons of things for the kids to do and dinner time entertainment was amazing. Loved it and so did my kids!

Yelp
All these reviews are paid. This place is over priced and the whole experience is fucking boring. There is literally nothing to do. Don't waste your money

Yelp
As an original Star Wars fan, I was excited to try this immersion experience. But, I was really getting into it for my daughter... originally. What I didn't quite realize was that this was a premium Disney cruise experience with all the high expectation exceeding service levels and continuous phenomenal food with a kicker of constant entertainment. All you have to be is willing to play along. I heard many complaints from people online before our trip about cost and more. But, based on the service and entertainment I experienced... I find the Starcruiser to be appropriately priced and worth every penny!!! I laughed so hard. I cried more than once. I put in a tiny effort and got one of the most memorable experiences of my life. They memorized our names. We were fully integrated immediately. The crew recognized us at every turn. I like Star Wars, so I know most of the main characters. That was all I needed. It was wonderful!!!! Also, lightning lane on Batuu included... Really, really great with Spring Break crowds.
